Adding Songs - Not Taking ?!?!?

If I add a song to my master "Music" folder in my second hard drive through say music match, why is it when I fire up iTunes it doesn't see it automatically? How do I get it to find it in my library when I already have my "Music" folder on my second hard drive as the default "Library" folder? Has Apple ever heard of autosync or am I missing something. PLEASE HELP!

Say I get another song - where do I place the song - in the F drive and iTunes will find it upon startup (like musicmatch)?
No. As I said before you have to add it to iTunes through the iTunes interface.
Let me ask you where are you getting these songs from? ripped CD's, downloaded from a source other than iTunes?
When these new songs are on your computer don't move them to the F drive, leave them wherever they are and open iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click on File>import. Navigate to the new song on your computer (wherever it may be) and click Choose. iTunes will move it to the F drive for you and it now knows that it is there.
But the easiest way is to drag the new song to the open iTunes window. Again, instead of dragging it to the F drive, drag it to the iTunes window.
When you do this iTunes will put that song file on your F drive because
you set the preferences to keep music folder organized and you told it to keep it in the F drive.

  • IPod Adding Songs Not in Playlist

Because I have too many songs in my Library, the iPod created an iPod Selection which I add the songs I want on my iPod on iTunes for me.
In the summer, my sister added songs to my Ipod as hers had broken. I do not have these songs in my Selection, but they (and others) repeatedly add themselves to the selection, and appear on my iPod.
I am not adding these songs to my selection, but they keep 'randomly' appearing. Can anyone answer my question as to why, and what I can maybe do to stop this happening? Thanks, Coral

    Interesting.
I would try unsyncing all Music by unticking the Sync Music box at the top of the Music Sync device age.
Then resynch just want you want and see if that clears the issue

  • Album art and recently added songs not syncing to ipod.

They've synced before, but now when I've given album art to every song it doesn't sync. Nor have recently added songs. Nowhere to be seen on my ipod.
Then, on top of that, no matter how many times I've restored, authorized, and played around with my account, it randomly doesn't sync songs that I've bought from Itunes.
Help would be so, so much appreciated.

Are you syncing all music or selected playlists?

  • Added songs not showing

I have added loads of songs and they are showing in my files, but showing on iTunes. When my wife looks at my library she can see the songs and play them. When i search for them they show, but cannot be selected. It looks like they need to index or something. Anyone got any ideas?

If you are using itunes Match update this. Store > Update iTunes Match
If not then try looging out of itunes store and logging in again
Final option I have found on these threads is to download the free single of the week and that can somehow just clear things...

  • Added songs not in library, show up in lib search though. ***?

Using iTunes 11.0.1.12 on Win 7 Pro.
After upgrading to iTunes 11 I started having the following issue:
when I add songs to library, whether through drag-n-drop or from top menu, the songs gets copied to library folder but is not visible in library.
However, iTunes search finds the song and the artist with no problem, artwork and all however nothing happens when I click "play next" nor can I locate in library when I click on search result. Quiting iTunes or restarting computer doesn't help. Does anyone have a clue? Thank you!
Edit: found a workaround - add more songs, sometimes they all suddenly show up!

If you are using iTunes Match then when you have imported or downloaded. I have found that the following works
Ctrl B to show the top menu
    Store > Update iTunes Match

Check the songs are really not in the Music section of the library by clicking the magnifying glass in the search box and unticking Search Entire Library if it is ticked, then typing in the name of the album. If the tracks still don't show try closing iTunes and deleting a hidden file called sentinel from inside your iTunes folder. This should make iTunes run an integrity check on the database when you start it again. Make sure the tracks are checked before you try syncing again.

  • Playlist not updated during sync with added songs

I have a manual playlist set up in iTunes where I store my  music. I then have iTunes set to sync only this playlist to my iPhone 5. However, when I've added a newly added song into this playlist, and performed a sync, the song does not move into the playlist on the phone. I have to uncheck "Sync music" sync the phone, then recheck "sync music" for it to appear. Only started when I upgraded to iOS7

Yeah, iOS 7 may be beautiful but it still has bad quality issues.  Apple needs to fix the bugs and hold off an any new feature work for the next version of the OS!!!

  • ITunes not showing all my manually added songs for 4S

Ok, It was working yesterday but now for some odd reason normally all my songs show up in the manually added section when my phone is plugged in but today I noticed it's only showing a small portion of my songs and as such I can't delete songs that I want to remove as you have to go through the manually added section, not sure what's causing this really and hoping someone else has had a similar issue.

  • Adding note taking section - mobile save

Does anyone know of a way to add a note taking section to an interactive document I want to use on a mobile device?  I want the user to be able to take notes within the document and have it save what they input.  I have the Creative Cloud subscription - maybe there is a better application for this?
    Thank you for your advice.

You might want to take a look into this that can possibly solve your purpose: http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/tools-tips/quick-tip-how-to-use-notes-and-add-comment s-to-indesign-cs5-documents/ or http://help.adobe.com/en_US/indesign/cs/using/WS9293e1fb3b977c5c13f98104123e358c3fe-7ff2.h tml . Notes can be added from the Editorial menu under Windows menu. Notes mode can be activated from within the Type> Notes > Note Mode. Add notes wherever you want inside the paragraph. Notes can be printed from InCopy only as per Bob Levine's instructions in the help doc.

  • Classic Report - Column Conditions Not taking Effect when Changing Pagination

    Apex Version:  4.2.1.00.08
    DB Version: 11g Release 11.2.0.3.0
    Hi,
I have a classic report that has some columns that conditional hide/show depending upon the value of a page item.  When the report is first displayed with the first pagination set(Rows 1-100), the columns display as they should.
When moving to the next pagination set(Rows 101-200), the columns no longer display as they should and it seems that the condition is not taking effect.  Partial Page Refresh is set to 'Yes' for the report.
Any ideas on why this might be occurring?

    tvanderl
Assuming you mean that columns are rendered while you expect them not to.
Are the conditions based on page items.
It could be that the session state of those items is different between when the page is first rendered and when de refresh due to the pagination is done.
See if adding the in the condition used page items to the page items to be submitted for the region helps.
Others wise see if you can replicate the issue on apex.oracle.com so we can see what you mean.

  • How do I get my ipod to play a playlist from reverse order? (Start with recently added song instead of first added)

How do I get my ipod to play a playlist from reverse order? (Start with recently added song instead of first added)
So I'm adding new songs to a very old playlist? Is there anyway that when I add them, they automatically go to top of playlist? How about getting one song to the top of a playlist.  That drag to arrange function is very annoying because it is slow and the playlist does not scroll up very well on a PC.

Make a new playlist by pressing the little plus button at the very lower left corner of iTunes. An new playlist will appear in the Source pane called "untitled playlist". While the name is highlighted, you can change it to whatever you want. Drag all of the tracks from all the albums that comprise a single book to that playlist. Sync that playlist to your iPod.

  • Is there a way to recommend iTunes adding songs to iTunes match?

I've been using iTunes match since it came out - and I wondered if there was a way to recommend to the powers that be songs or albums that would be nice to add to their matching service?
Yes - I am aware that they can upload my songs if they don't match - but the reason this is important to me is because the versions downloaded from their match service (whether I bought the original from iTunes or whether I ripped songs from my CDs) are pretty well equalized with regard to volume.   I find if I upload a newer song it comes out louder on playback and an older song is much lower.    (And I don't have the ears or time to go into a program like Audacity to equalize the volume on each and every song I want added - and it's annoying to have to adjust the volume during playback whenever I reach an uploaded song.)
I find it perplexing when I rip one of my CD's (case in point - very best of Jackson Browne) and most but not all the songs are matched.  (I'm not even referring to an obscure album cut - 'The pretender' - one of his biggest hits - doesn't match.)    I found this also on a top 40 song from the Four Tops' anthology and 'Carry on' - a CSN trademark song from CSN's greatest hits.    I mean - if they're going to match an artist's greatest hits album - why just some of the songs?
Also - Broadway cast albums are pretty hit and miss.   Two recent Tony Award-winning shows - the Pippin revival and the Carole King songbook musical - Beautiful - don't match.   (Actually - on Beautiful - the reprise of one of the songs matches and nothing else does.)
So bottom line - is there a way to recommend songs or albums for iTunes to add to their matching service?  I know recommending a song won't guarantee its placement - but at least they'll know there is some interest.
    Thanks!

Thanks, Jimz - I only rip my CDs as 320 mp3 - quality is good - but the volume is awry.    I have already discovered that if I'm using an unusual setting to begin with that I can get it to match if I convert the file to 320 mp3.  I know what you mean by 'the original track' as I have had success with some groups' initial CD and yet the song wouldn't match on a same-label greatest hits package or compilation.    And I'm not referring to those off-label compilations.  And I'm talking about hit songs - not various mixes of songs.
I would like (if anyone knows) where I can recommend  (or query the appropriate person at iTunes) albums and/or individual songs to be added by Apple to iTunes.    (Again - they might not be responsive - but at least they know someone wants them.)   I'm not going to die if I can't hear a song on my iPhone, but I don't put any non-matched songs there - I had at least a few incidents where I was walking or bicycling and an unmatched song came on and the volume was blasting much louder than the matched songs.
I do appreciate the time you took....

  • I recently got an iphone 5S and my songs not purchased from iTunes are grayed out (phone only) and are skipped past when playing them through my iPhone.

I recently got an iphone 5S and my songs not purchased from iTunes are grayed out (phone only) and are skipped past when playing them through my iPhone. i have tried the following:
    1) Removing all music from phone and resynced to iTunes PC library.
    2) Erased phone and restored from back up
    3) Erased phone and started as a new iPhone
    4) Reformated the music files in my library that weren't playing
    5) Deleted songs from iPhone and computer and re-imported CDs
    6) Tried to redownload my COMPLETE MUSIC LIBRARY from iCloud.
    7) I have also turned it off and turned it back on several times
    8) I tried syncing through my macbook (only moved partial songs to it to see if it would even work).
    9) I have tried to get Siri to play them, did not work.
    10) All music does play fine on my iPod Touch 3rd (iOS6 i think) gen and iTunes on Mac and PC
    11)  I added a CD to my roommates iTunes and it plays on their iPhone 5S but not mine.
After all of these things it is now WORSE!!!  My iTunes purchased songs are now experiencing the same issue along with some (not all) of the original music files that were skipping and grayed out.  My conclusion is i have no clue at this point!  I have done everything i have found online in EVERY discussion, i have spent over 60 hours trying to get this to work and i am asking myself, i bought this product why am having to fix this when it worked just fine on my iPod touch (3rd Gen) and iPod Classic!!!!  PLEASE APPLE FIX THIS ISSUE FOR US!!!!

I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!
    hope this helps!

  • Group Policy - User Rights Assignments not taking effect on workstation`

Novell 5.1 SP7. ZenWorks 3.2 sp3. Windows XP Pro workstations.
In Group Policy, (Computer Configuration/Windows Settings/Security
Settings/Local Policies/User Rights Assignment), I have added Power Users to
the "Load and Unload device drivers" policy. However this setting is not
taking effect on my Windows XP workstations. My DLU policy for users is
configured to have the users members of the "Users" and "Power Users" groups
    on the local PC.
Other parts of Group Policy (Computer Policy/Administrative Templates) are
taking effect on the workstation, so I'm wondering if the problem I am
having is related to Security Settings only.

  • How do you get songs not in your library?

I have some songs that are not in my library so I can't download them into my iPod. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

Locate the tracks (songs) and drag them into the iTunes "Library" section. Then Create a play list from the "file" menu (so you can quickly find your song/s) and drag the songs from the library, over to the playlist in which you want them and let them drop in.
Plug in your iPod (make sure that you do not disconnect the iPod if it says "Do Not disconnect").
Go to "preferences of iTunes under the "File" menu. Click on the "iPod" icon.
Once there, click on the "music" tab and make sure the box for "automatically update all songs and playlists" (something like that), is checked.
Update your iPod and your newly added songs should be copied over to your iPod.
