Adding Standard Text to the Selection Screen obtained using PARAMETERS

Hi all,
I have a report program which has the selection screen declared by the key word PARAMETERS.
Now I need to make the changes to this program such that a Text Editor appears on the Selection Screen and has a Standard text that should be displayed.
How can I do it?
I saw the screen number of the Selection Screen and went to screen painter and tried to add the Text Editot..but it did not let me dou2026.Why?
How should I add a standard text to a selection screen? The standard text should not be on top , but some where on the screen.

Hi Sam,
I dont want to create a new screen for this. On the existing screen whihc was built using PARAMETERS key word..i should insert a blokc of text whihc is mpre than 5-6 lines..how should i do it.
I navigated to Text Elements---->Selection Texts
it is now asking for Name and Text and i see in Name column the name of the parametsr that they used for Check box, radio button etc and in Text i see the text that is appearing on the screen
Now i am not sure what is should do next
My req is..i should display a block of standard text that doesnt change and whihc is of 4-6 lines?
how should i do it?
please also help me with what data declartions that i should do in parametrs key word in program?

    Hi,
    You have marked this thread as being answered, however, neither of your questions has been specifically addressed in the answers provided. 
    You can make any field from any infotype a selection field in SQ01.  First, in Settings --> Settings uncheck the Graphical Query Painter.  Enter the query and use the yellow arrows to the right to reach the Selection screen.  Here, any field in your query can be checked to become a selection field.  If the Graphical Query Painter is checked, go to your query.  On the left you have your infotypes and fields.  Checking the right hand box will make any field in your query a selection field. 
    For your second question, if you create your query in SQ01 in the "Global Area" it is transportable when saved and you should get a pop-up requesting the transport number.  If you save a selection screen for that query with the starting designation "CUS&", it is also transportable when saved the pop-up should also appear.

    But while executing this BAPI it is going to a screen where it is asking to tick the Check Box for material number.

  • Filtering of the data based upon the selection screen data using ldb

    Hi Experts ,
    I am using ldb pnpce, for my report ,and i created my own report category with selection paramaters
    action type and payroll area
    now the problem is when i am giving the action type as Z0 ,the data to be extracted is not getting filtered
    based upon the action type ,the data consists the records having different action types other than Z0
    Please give me some solution for this

    One selection screen block contains input parameters as follows

    Posting Date  -S_ZFBDT

    Another selection screen block contains 2 radio buttons with the option as follows
    Collection Plan

    If i click Collection plan the report output should come based on the input parameters in first selection-screen block.

  • Adding a new field to selection screen -Effect on variant

    Hello,
      If we add a new (non obligatory) field to a slection screen, is there any impact on existing variants? Does SAP regenerate each variant when the screen change transport get applied? We had a DB lock jam situation in our PRD system for VARI table and the previous day some program changes with a added selection screen parameter ( a check box) had moved).

    Adding a field to the selection screen shouldn't affect existing variants (but the field will be blank for all variants). However, if there is a problem, you should be able to retrieve variants with program RSVARDOC_610.

  • Change of variable text in BEx selection screen

    Hi all,
    in our BW system the key users are allowed to create queries and also create variables. In some cases, especially for often used info objects like 0DATE the number of variables is increasing very quickly. The reason for this is, that 0DATE is used for a big variety of meanings e.g. delivery date, order date, invoice date etc.
    So the users always create new variables only to have a meaningful description in the BEx selection screen, because they do not want only "date" to be displayed here. As result we have many different varianbles with exactly the same technical settings with only different names.
    So my question is: Is it possible to change the diplayed text in the selection screen for each query without having to create a new variable?

    I need help in updating the selection screen, I have declared the 'parameters' object in the selection screen like this.
    parameters:
      Paygroup type ZPGKIS obligatory.
    it has three values '5A', '5B' and '5V'. when I select '5V' from the parameters, I need to display another parameters selection object for 'date' otherwise NO
    I tried something like this.....

  • Need to Increase the width of the selection screen

    Existing scenario is that the selection screen contains 4 parameters in a row and
    it has to be increased to 6.When i try to include the 2 parameters on the same row it
    says that the max width is 79.I can try and reduce the width of each parameter but it
    still cannot accomodate the 2 new parameters.
    Can someone please give me some tips on how to go about it.

    if u want to accomadate more than six parameter the reduce the visible length.

  • Text elements and selection screen

    I changed the selection screen using enhancement frame concept. But I can not change the selection text that displays on the selection screen.
    Does anybody know how to do it?

    I was able to change the selection screen, my issue before was that I was implementing changes to an Explicit enhancment that was not switched on so the code was not being processed.
    I used the explicit enhancement MGV_GENERATED_RIAUFK20 # 14 on my system. It has the initialization piece in it. To add the frame header to the selection screen I used a read and insert on the text-pool and for the individual fields I used the FM selection_texts_modifiy.
