Adding static images to map at specific points in time

Hello,
I am trying to create a power map animation and I am having difficulties figuring out how to go beyond simply animating the data over time.  let's say I want to add a little image of the space needle in Seattle when the animation gets to the point in
time when it was built.  Obviously, I will be in the process of animating my normal data when this image gets added.  Also, if you know of any tutorials that might be relevant please mention them.
Thanks,
Bob

You can add static images at a point in time and these are done by adding an annotation to a specific point that is plotted on your map.  Once you pause the tour at a specific time you might want to add a scene to the tour and then add your annotation.
 In order to add an annotation you will need to select the point and then right-click and select 'Add Annotation'.  You will then be able to add a title along with either text, a field from data set, or an image.  At this point you can continue
to plat the tour and/or add another scene and continue to build out your tour.
Check out this article on inserting annotations to Power Maps for additional information

    Is there any function module or any table where this change log is maintained.?
    I just only need the details ,wheather that SAP standard or Custom object has got changed or not.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi RK v ,
    I really don't know what your actual requirement is , but if you want to know the objects as per the modification , then transport request will be much help to you .

  • Calculating MAP at a point in time

    Hi,
    I need to find the MAP for a list of materials as of 06-30-2009.  Which table do I use?  MBEW, MBEWH or both?
    If I have to use both, please explain SIMPLY and CONCISELY how to do it.  Looking at these tables is confusing.  It seems that both have dates for periods/fiscal years in the past.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Hello Kevin,
    MBEW stores the the latest stock valuation details & MBEWH stores the stock valuation history for the material.
    Suppose you are in 03.2009 &  for Mat. M1 there is no stock movement till period 03.2009 (for the year 2009), MBEW will have the data for 03.2009 (the period & year are irrelevant as it is the current stock valn) & in MBEWH you have the data for the last year i.e., 12.2008 (LFGJA = 2008, LFMON = 12).
    Now in 04.2009 you have some stock mvmt & there is change in mat. valn. So the latest valn will move to MBEW & the last valn details (i.e., of 03.2009) now moves to MBEWH (LFGJA = 2009, LFMON = 03).
    It will be very clear to you once you check MBEW, MBEWH along with MB5B. In MB5B you can check the mat. mvmt data & see how the data in tables MBEW & MBEWH are modified based on mat mvmt.

  • Doubt on Effective Dated (data pertaining to a specific point in time)

    Dear Members,
    1/ I have created a table using the below SQL Command
    create table XXEMP
    EMP_NO                  NUMBER(12),
    EFFECTIVE_START_DATE    DATE,
    EFFECTIVE_END_DATE      DATE,
    EFFECTIVE_DATE_SEQUENCE NUMBER(12),
    EFFECTIVE_DATE_SEQ_FLAG VARCHAR2(10),
    ATTRIBUTE1              VARCHAR2(240)
    2/ I have created an EO (XxEmpEO) based on the table XXEMP and entered the below properties:-
    Efective Date Type: EffectiveDated
    Start Date Attribute: EFFECTIVE_START_DATE
    End Date Attribute: EFFECTIVE_END_DATE
    Effective Date Sequence: EFFECTIVE_DATE_SEQUENCE
    Effective Date Sequence Flag: EFFECTIVE_DATE_SEQ_FLAG
    3/ I have created a VO (XxEMPVO) based on XxEmpEO
    4/ I have attached the XxEmpVO to the AM
    I have run the AM and in the ADF Model Tester Window, I've updated the ATTRIBUTE1 value and saved the changes.
    After saving the changes to the database I expected a new row for the respective record but it didnt create.
    Can any one please tell me where I went wrong.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hello CM,
    Many thanks for your response.
    I have tried the concept again with a different approach and still I am not able to get the desired solution.
    The details are as follows:-
    I am using Oracle JDev V 11.1.2.10 and Oracle XE 11G Database
    I have followed the below steps to test the effective dated concept:-
    1/ Created a table using the below command:-
    CREATE TABLE XXEMP
    id            NUMBER(12)  NOT NULL,
    text          VARCHAR2(10) NOT NULL,
    start_date    DATE         NOT NULL,
    end_date      DATE         NULL,
    *"SEQUENCE" NUMBER(12) NOT NULL,*
    sequence_flag VARCHAR2(1)  NOT NULL
    ALTER TABLE XXEMP
    ADD CONSTRAINT MCSDT_PK1 PRIMARY KEY (
    id,
    start_date,
    *"SEQUENCE",*
    sequence_flag
    2/ Created an EO XxEmpEO based on the above table and edited the below properties:-
    Effective Date Type: EffectiveDated
    Start Date Attribute: StartDate
    End Date Attribute: EndDate
    Effective Date Sequence: Sequence
    Effective Date Sequence Flag: SequenceFlag
    3/ Created a VO XxEmpVO based on the above EO and edited the below properties:-
    Effective Dated: True
    4/ I have created an AM FirstAM and attached the above VO to this AM.
    I've ran the AM and in the ADF Model Tester Window entered the below values:-
    Id: 1
    Sequence: 1
    SequenceFlag: Y
    Text: First
    SysEffectiveDate: 2012-04-03 +(This value is populated by default)+
    Rest all the fields I left blank and clicked on commit changes button.
    When I clicked on commit changes button I got the below error:-
    *(oracle.jbo.AttrValException) JBO-27019: The get method for attribute "StartDate" in FirstAM.XxEmpVO1 cannot be resolved.*
    My expectation is as soon as I click on the commit changes button start and end dates should be populated automatically. Isnt it?
    Please let me know whether my expectation and the followed approach is right or wrong?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • How do I move video clips to specific points on a music track in iMovie?

    I am trying to make a lip synch video and need to move my video clips to specific points on a musci track so that the words are in time with people singing - does anyone know how to do this? At the moment, I only seem able to put the clips in one after the other...

    Hi
    IMovie is Video clip oriented - meaning that Audio can not be put in first and video/photos added later.
    So to do this I use black photos that I fill up the Video with first
    Then Add audio
    Then add Video/photos by Cutaway function or exact replacement (in time).
    This is so much easier in any version of FINALCUT where one can build Audio first then create the video ontop of this.

  • Zoom into a specific point on a clip

    How do I zoom to a specific point on a clip or picture?
    Whenever I try to use this feature it just goes to the centre of the clip.
    Thank-you.

    Make sure Image + Wireframe is selected in the Canvas:
    Select the clip you want to zoom in on and reposition on the timeline by clicking on it. Once it is selected on the timeline, the turquoise box and cross hairs should appear in the canvas.
    If you click and drag on one of the boxes on the corner, you can resize your image:
    And if you click and drag on the image itself, you can change the clips position:
    You may need to change the canvas display scale to see the handles after you zoom in:

  • Is there a way to draw gridlines at a specific point on a bubble chart?

    I'm using Xcelsius 4.5 and (trying to) creating a bubble chart.  I am using static min/max values for the x and y axes, but rather than drawing the gridlines in 1 or 2 divisions (i.e. the midpoint), I want to draw a grid line (both x and y) at a specific point -- is there any way to designate this point in Xcelsius?

    I figured it out - I just adjusted my formula to draw the min/max such that my intersection is always the midpoint

  • Problem printing static images vs camera tool snapshots

    Hi.
    This question might be a matter of formatting instead of a developer question but since it is related to some VBA code I am using I thought it would be appropriate to post here.  If it isn't, can someone let me know which forum would be more appropriate?
    Here's the situation.  I have a workbook that has many tables on separate worksheets.  Then I have couple "summary" type of worksheets which contain camera tool snapshots of tables from different worksheets for easier viewing/printing.
    Because of the heavy lag in recalculation time created by using camera tool snapshots, I have turned the snapshots into static images by removing the source range from their formula.  Instead, after making whatever changes I need in the data, I use a
    VBA macro to loop through each snapshot and briefly restore the source range formula so that it updates to reflect the latest table changes then clear the source range formula again, returning the snapshot to a static image.  This seems to work fine when
    I view the worksheets and makes the recalculation of the tables much faster when changing the data.
    However, I have encountered a new problem.  If I print the summary worksheets with the static images, each table is printed as smaller than when they are snapshots.  In other words, when the source range formula is set to the appropriate range
    and I print the sheet, everything looks fine.  When I clear the source range formula and print the sheet, each table is now horizontally smaller and some information in the last column is being cut off.  The images/snapshots have their size set to
    100% of the original and I have tried keeping "Relative to the original" checked and unchecked with no difference.  Does anyone know why this is happening?

    It may not be the images.  It may be the print options are set to auto scale the worksheet.  Try manually printing a one test page and try different print scale options.  Use Print Preview which will allow you to scale page sizes.
    Often issues like this occur when you are trying to print more than one page at a time.  The scale on one page may be different from a second page.  Sometimes adding page breaks (horizontal and vertical) helps solves these issues.

  • Adding an Image on top of Zoom area

    Hello everyone,
    I'm a brand new user of Captivate and I'm working with version 4.  I'll do my best to not get on your nerves with all the newbie questions!
    Current issue - I'm working within a single slide and have a small segment highlighted with the Zoom function.  The Zoom is working great, but there are multiple items within the Zoom box that I would like to highlight/indicate for the viewers.  I want to use a basic arrow to point at the icon I'm referring to in the audio, so I've tried adding an Image of an arrow, but it always appears behind the Zoom box when I Preview or Publish the project.  I've tried using both jpeg and bmp formats for the image and see no difference.  I've also tried to work with the Order of the Image and Zoom, setting them to 'Step Back, 'Bring to Front', etc, but it doesn't make a difference.
    Any suggestions on how I can get the image to show up on top of the Zoom box?
    Side question - I had to find an image of a basic arrow on the web, as all I could find within Captivate 4 are the Animated Arrows.  Does Captivate have good old basic arrows and pointers?  If so, where might I might find them?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Rotate about a specific point

    I have a script that creates geologic map symbols, positions them, and rotates them into their proper orientation.  However, I do not know how to rotate about a specific point (not the center of the group). The portion of script in question is:
    if (dlg.symbol.bedding.value) {
    var myLine = stGroup.pathItems.add();
    myLine.stroked = true;
    myLine.setEntirePath([[posx,posy],[posx+3,posy]]);
    myLine.strokeWidth = .75;
    var myLine = stGroup.pathItems.add();
    myLine.setEntirePath([[posx,posy - 6.75],[posx,posy + 6.75]]);
    myLine.stroked = true;
    myLine.strokeWidth = .75;
    stGroup.rotate(-azi);
    and I wish to rotate around the point [posx, posy].  How do I accomplish this?

    Thanks!  That worked.  For future reference, here's the modified section of script:
    if (dlg.symbol.bedding.value) {
    var myLine = stGroup.pathItems.add();
    myLine.stroked = true;
    myLine.setEntirePath([[posx,posy],[posx+3,posy]]);
    myLine.strokeWidth = .75;
    var myLine = stGroup.pathItems.add();
    myLine.setEntirePath([[posx,posy - 6.75],[posx,posy + 6.75]]);
    myLine.stroked = true;
    myLine.strokeWidth = .75;
    mapDoc.theOrigin = mapDoc.rulerOrigin;
    mapDoc.rulerOrigin = [posx,posy];
    stGroup.rotate(-azi, undefined,undefined,undefined,undefined,Transformation.DOCUMENTORIGIN);
    mapDoc.rulerOrigin = mapDoc.theOrigin;
    Another parameter in the rotate method to specify a rotation point would be nice.  Still, this works just fine, so no complaints from me.

  • Adding an image that a user can click.

    Hi
    Been programming java for nearly a year now and I was wondering if there was a way I can add images to a frame, which a user can then hover over to receive information of click to go to the next screen with sub information on it. Any help currently would be much appreciated.

    I was wondering if there was a way I can add images to a frameJLabel. http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/label.html
    which a user can then hover over to receive informationtooltip. http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/tooltip.html
    click to go to the next screen with sub information on itMouseListener. http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/events/mouselistener.html
    Or use a JButton instead of a JLabel.
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/button.html
    If the frame is to be a container for numerous "screens", consider giving it a CardLayout.

    I just really need to know... After desigining my UX, how do I go about adding the image into ADOBE FLASH BUILDER to script on top of it?
    Any and all advice is welcome.

    Do you have different versions of the graphic novel pages, or is there just one version of the page? If there is one version, can you crop into the page without losing anything important?
    I would guess that there is one version, and that cropping into the page will lose something important. If that's the case, here's how I would handle it:
    Make a stage that is 14:9. The size doesn't matter, but 1400x900 could be a good starting point.
    Put down a background texture that fits well with the look of the other images. Make that fill the 1400x900 stage.
    Place your page graphics so that they are within the center 1200x788 area of the stage.
    Set the stage scalemode to "noBorder".
    You now have a layout that will work on all devices, as narrow as iPad, and as wide as iPhone 5. All without any code. On the widest devices you'll see a bit of your background pattern to the left and right of the page graphic. On the narrowest devices you'll see a bit of background pattern above and below the page graphic. But you won't lose sight of anything important.

  • Using swf file for very large static image

    i have a large photo that i need to use as a banner image in a website.  i have tried optimizing it for the web in fireworks -- to reduce the file size obviously -- but the client isn't happy with the resolution.  i haven't had this issue come up before but i see his point (to a degree), as the detail and sharpness of the original is far superior.
    i have almost no familiarity with creating with flash, but i remember reading somewhere that swf files do not have the same sizes as jpeg images.
    would it be feasible to include the single static image as a swf file to preserve its original resolution?  i mean, would that image as a swf file be smaller than the image as a jpeg?
    mille grazie.

    There are two things at play here... image quality (often harmed by compression) and image resolution (# of pixels width by height). What is the real problem?
    Whether you render your image as a GIF, JPG, PNG or SWF file, they will all have the same resolution.
    Packing an image in SWF should be a last resort as not everyone has Flash installed. For example, iPhone users cannot see SWF.

  • Optimize php page for browsers lacking flash, so that it replaces flash objects with static images

    Hello,
    I basically want to have my php pages with flash swf objects to be smart enough to replace the flash swf's with static images or other content for the non-flash user (iphone, ipad, etc.) who visits the website.  I guess this would be an option or perhaps a script that just sent the visitor to a version of the .php page that is tailored to them, a version of the page designed for non-flash users.
    I've done a little bit of reading up and have found that some people like to use DOM scripts like
    Unobtrusive Flash Objects (UFO) v3.22
    or what seems to be the successor:
    SWFObject 2.0
    What is better?  Is there a better script out there to use at this point?  Advice would be much appreciated.

    I guess I will reiterate this.
    I would like someone to tell me which one of these scripts that I have mentioned above would be best to use.
    What am I trying to do?  Well from my understanding these scripts allow me to have multiple versions of the website, so that it loads up with static images in place of the flash swf's for... NON FLASH USERS.
    The script will be able to detect whether the flash capabilities of the browser are sufficient, and if not display the web page accordingly.
    SO.  I'm looking for an answer as to what is the best script to use, if it's not one of the scripts I am asking about.
    @The Shocker.. if I wanted to research it on the net by googling, which I already have, I wouldn't be using this forum.  I'm looking for someone who is knowledgeable in this area of expertise to give me a recommendation, based on information they can give me that is logical and clear.  And then I can do further research once I feel I'm being sent in the right direction.
    Thanks in advance to anyone who would like to offer me some direction on this.
