Adding storage to 9980 how much cache needed??

Hello, i'm not sure where to find this answer so i'm asking here we are currently at about 15TB of storage and are planning on adding another 10TB how much cache should be added to the system? I believe the system has 8GB is there a general rule or algorithm to use to determine this?

The amount of cache is really dependent upon your applications. For example, on a web server, you want to keep the web pages in memory because most of the pages get accessed frequently. You don't want to keep re-reading the same page from disk. For applications that stream video and the video is rarely reused, more cache is not that helpful. However, for 25 TB, 8 GB is on the low side. You should be in the 32 GB range. Also, you might have to increase shared memory for the 2 MB min to 2.5 or 3 MB max depending upon how many luns you create.

  • How much RAM needed for the DB box

    Hi,
    Can someone share with me the technical way to do calculation of how much of RAM needed for a new Linux box with estimation of 500 users. I hope this calculation can also allow me to breakdown how much MEMORY needed for each session.
    Please recommend any site that I can refer to if any. TQ.

    My project start with Oracle 9i R2 (9206) on Linux (not yet confirm on the platform and etc). Just assume I will use Linux Red Hat Adv Sever latest version.
    Hence how many GB of memory for the box is sufficient to handle 500 connections. Pls guide me the formula to derive the calculation. TQ

  • HT4623 I lost my apps and iTunes after a restore, but it says there isn't enough space on the iPhone 4. How do I know how much space needs to be freed up? I keep deleting photos and videos, but I'm still getting the same message.

    I did an iphone 4 software update. It then asked me to do a "restore" in order for me to be able to use the latest iTunes. I did a "restore" to "factory settings" (this was the only option listed) thinking I'd be able to sync later and get everything back and ended up losing all my purchased apps and iTunes. When I open iTunes, "Welcome to your new iphone" and it says I can re-do the "restore" and choose my lastest update. I assume this will give me back my apps and iTunes. When i choose to do this, it says there isn't enough space on the iPhone. How do I know how much space needs to be freed up? I keep deleting photos and videos from the phone, but I'm still getting the same message every time I re-try. I don't want to delete everything, but I don't know what to do...? Thanks!

    Thanks but I think it has something to do with the 'restore'. in the newest iTunes 11, when I click on the tab "iphone", it redirects me to the "welcome to your new iphone" page and asks about doing a 'restore'. I already did a 'restore', but it went to the original factory settings and I want to 'restore' to my lastest back up as of April 12. When I choose that option, it says my iphone doesn't have enough space. I don't know how much I need to delete in order to make it work. I've deleted lots, but it only has 4.1 GB available. I'm not sure why this isn't enough to do a 'restore'. I don't want to delete all my photos and videos, but maybe I will have to?...7.7GB is used up for that. I can't sync or do ANYTHING...

    Much better notifications, better Mail, better camera, iCloud, wireless syncing, wireless updates, etc.

    It isn't that risky. You may be reading hundreds of posts here about problems, but that is out of MILLIONS of iPhones that have been upgraded. Percentage-wise, that means most people have no problem.
    However, as with any major change to your system, you should back up everything your iPhone first. Just right-click it in iTunes to get the backup menu. That will be your safe fallback position in case something goes wrong.
    I still use an iPhone 3GS. That's older than your iPhone. But iOS 5 works fine on it.

  • The coherence cluster supports created how much cache?

    Hi,
    I have runing Oracle Coherence GE 3.6.1 in cluster.
    The coherence cluster supports created how much cache? cache type is Distributed Cache.
    Cache over-population will affect the performance of the cluster?
    Thank you!

    Do a test, the code is as follows:
    cache code
         public final long removeLike(String regex) {
              long l1 = System.currentTimeMillis();
    long result = 0;
    Set<String> setKeys = nc.keySet(new LikeFilter(new KeyExtractor(), regex + "%", (char)0, false));
    long l2 = System.currentTimeMillis();
    System.out.println("removeLike , execute time :" + (l2 - l1));
    return result;
    public final boolean removeStartWith(String prefix) {
    long l1 = System.currentTimeMillis();
    int i = 0;
    try {
    Set<String> keys = nc.keySet();
    Iterator<String> iter = keys.iterator();
    String v = "";
    while (iter.hasNext()) {
    v = iter.next();
    if (v.startsWith(prefix)) {
    ++i;
    long l2 = System.currentTimeMillis();
    System.out.println("removeStartWith , execute time :" + (l2 - l1));
    return true;
    } catch (Exception e) {
    LOG.error(e.getMessage(), e);
    return false;
    The above 2 methods are computational search KEY time, not to delete operation
    test code
         @BeforeClass
    public static void init() {
    try {
    cache = CacheFactory.getCache("testCache");
    } catch (CacheException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    cache.clear();
    for (int i = 0; i < 100000; i++) {
    cache.add("test-" + i,i);
    for (int i = 0; i < 100000; i++) {
    cache.add("hello-" + i,i);
    @Test
    public void testReadByDefaultKey1() {
    cache.removeLike("test");
    @Test
    public void testReadByDefaultKey2() {
    cache.removeStartWith("test");
    The test results show that the:
    removeLike , execute time : 637
    removeStartWith , execute time :125
    Circulating KEY faster than using likeFilter quickly.

  • How much i need pay for ipad 2 screen ?

    How much i need pay for ipad 2 screen ?

    Out of warranty replacement costs start at 249 and go up for an ipad 2.
    You can find replacements cheaper as non-authorized places, but once you use them Apple will wash their hands of your device so if it has any warranty left, that warranty will be void.

  • How much money needed to replace the iphone ?

    Hello all,
    I have a iPhone 4s with greyed out problem. My phone had a water damage but it did not cause anything on the phone. However, 2 weeks ago my wifi just greyed out. I cannot use wifi anymore. What I am wondering is, how much money do I need to replace the phone ? I saw 150€ and 150$ to replace. I suppose Apple gives the "0" phone to customers after the payment but I want to be sure on the amount of the money ? Does anyone has an idea on that ?
    Thank you.

    We are all fellow users on here and not Apple employees so cannot speak for Apple or what they will do.  That said, I would be very surprised if a US Apple store would be willing to do any replacement for this iPhone as it is not a US version.  Your friend can certainly visit an Apple store genius bar and see what they will do, there is no harm is asking.
    A new one will still have the problems I noted above, no warranty outside the US, LTE service will be for the US frequencies, locked to a US carrier unless you pay the premium price for a factory unlocked iPhone, on the order of $600.

  • How much/what needed to hook up PB to a TV?

    Hi guys!
    What will I need and how much will it cost to hook my Powerbook up to my television?
    Thank you!
    Alec

    It depends on what kind of TV you have and what kind of ports are on the TV.
    If you have a new digital or HDTV, it could have a DVI port on the back. That directly works with the DVI port on your PowerBook 15-inch. If it has an HDMI port, you get a DVI-HDMI adapter. Either way gets you a full quality digital signal.
    If your TV is not quite so new, it might have a VGA port. You can connect to that using the DVI-VGA adapter that came with your PowerBook, assuming you didn't lose it. That is a high-quality analog signal.
    Scraping the bottom of the barrel: S-Video, already covered above, a direct link to your PowerBook's S-Video port. If you have a somewhat old TV, that only has one composite video port, you must use the S-Video to Composite adapter that also came with your PowerBook.
    So, you have four choices depending on how new your TV is. DVI and HDMI are the highest quality.

  • How much space needed

    I want to upload movies on my iPod touch. I like to that how much one movie takes room or what is the movies size in GB. Please help me.

    If the movie is already in your iTunes library, look at the size column in list view. If you don't have a size column, add it from the View menu -> View Options.
    If you are looking to download one from the iTunes Store, the size is shown in the details above the "Buy" button:

  • How much cache is available for apple maps & how long do maps remain offline?

    Vector maps are stored in iphone 5 so that they can be used offline. This is the only good feature of the ios6 maps but how long do the maps last offline?

    Maps Mad wrote:

    Not true. Offline data access is based on the app, which can opt to save maps (vector or raster maps) for use offline. Here's a source of geo apps that work offline http://bad-elf.com/pages/compatible-apps Many are intended for offline use so you download maps for a select country or state/province and needn't worry about internet or mobile phone service.
    As of iOS 7.1, Apple Maps stores only the last viewed area necessitating an active data connection (eg, wifi or cellular) to refresh geo-data as navigating. Google Maps can be used easily but the map data must be explictly saved while online.

  • How much time need the update to be full installed?

    I got the OS X Mountain Lion from the apple store two hours ago - and for free because I bought my mac just a few weeks ago. but it's still loading... when will it be finished?

    The download itself is just over 4 Gigs so it depends on your connection speed.  Figure on another half hour for the installation to complete after download.

  • How much storage and ram does a Mac need?

    I'm thinking about buying a Macbook Air as a present for my Mum, however I've always used Windows and have no clue at how OSX works. For example I know that Windows requires 8GB of ram and 500GB of storage at least for it to run well and be future proofed for the next couple years. I'm guess OSX uses less resources since all the models seem to be really low on storage and ram, the models with more are way more expensive but you cannot add more later which *****. So I'm just wondering how much does a modern Mac need these days?
    Just an extra question...
    I'm mainly making this purchasing decision on battery life, every Windows Laptop I've come across seems to only last about 3 hours. Will OSX be able to do everything Windows generally does? My Mum isn't a heavy user with specific needs but she uses Microsoft Office a lot and her work requires for her to have Flash Player in the browser and I know IOS doesn't support that, does OSX?
    Thanx.

    How much she need depends on what she wants to do with it. I am perfectly happy with my mid-2012 Air with 4/128. The storage issue might be most easily answered by seeing how much space she has filled on her current computer.
    You can install Flash Player with OS X.

  • How much MB do you need to update to iOS 6.1.3

    How much MB do you need to update to iOS 6.1.3?

    You'll need more space to install.
    Do you not have enough free storage space?
    How much space is used by your Other? You may be able to reduce.
    How Do I Get Rid Of The “Other” Data Stored On My iPad Or iPhone?
    http://tinyurl.com/85w6xwn
    With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
