Adding Streams to ITunes Internet Radio List

Is it a possibility for me to request a radio station to add to the Internet Radio list of streams? If so, how would I go about this? There are a few radio stations that I really want to listen to, and I can't seem to find them in the Internet Radio list. I tried opening the URL of a radio station, but somehow, it automatically starts playing a song from my music library. What do I do next?

There are two problems with this specific example:
1) That URL does not point to the stream, it's pointing to a web page (the .php tag is a clear giveaway) so you cannot use such a URL directly in iTunes.
2) the example stream is in Windows Media format and so cannot be played in iTunes.
I cannot say what other streams on that site might work, but I also tried their rock stream and confirmed that it does not work in iTunes either. QuickTime Player will handle these streams with the Flip4Mac plugin. Use the following URL for the example stream:
mms://arrowfmjazz.atinet.nl/arrowfmjazz

  • I just installed iOS 7.1 - where is the iTunes Internet radio app?

I just installed iOS 7.1 - where is the iTunes Internet radio app?

There is no separate app. It's included in the 'Music' app if Radio is available in your country (only US and Australia at this moment).
If it is available in your country then open the Music app and select the Radio tab as described on the Apple website. If it is available in your country but don't seem Radio in the Music app then do this.

  • Where did the current song listing go for iTunes Internet Radio?

I listen to internet radio on iTunes all the time, and I always loved being able to check the title and artist of whatever song was playing.  I just upgraded my iTunes to 11.1.3(8) and now the internet radio no longer shows me the title & artist of the current song.  Is there a way get that feature back?

Thank you Frederick! Now, a further question: for example under classic rock it shows 383 threads but in the list there are only 11 showing up. The stations I like to listen to are missing. Any light to shed? Thanks, Mark

  • ITunes internet Radio -  BBC Radio 5 and BBC Radio 4 have disappeared

I updated to Maverick last night and have discovered with the various updates to iTunes and so forth that BBC Radio 5 (and 4) have disappeared from the internet radio News/Talk radio option.  This may seem like a small thing and other options are available, but does anyone know why??
With this, Java and my iphone iOS7 constantly booting apps, some days it feels like the windows system I last used 15 years ago....a bit buggy!
Anyhoo, any advice gratefully received.  NB I understand that this is not iTunes Radio!!!  I'm talking about the internet stations.
    Cheers

    Hi SS_MedPhoto
I have only just got round to looking at this, so apologies.  I have no idea how you edit the stream, though as I was looking through I noticed that Radio 4 & 5 have reappeared.
Apologies for not coming back sooner.
Would be interested to know how to add/edit stations though.

  • Nokia Internet Radio - list of stations

The Internet Radio app for s60.3.2 has a list, provided by a Nokia server, that can display stations by genre, country, etc. and can also be searched. It is VERY outdated (much more so than the corresponding database for podcast search) and I'm wondering if there might be an alternate service. If so, how does one access the URL for the radio search server?

Hi, peterkstar1. We appreciate the interest for the app. Have you tried using MixRadio? This is provided the app is supported in your country.
For the list of the countries supported, see this: http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA139758
If the said app is supported in your country, you may download it from here: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/nokia-mixradio/f5874252-1f04-4c3f-a335-4fa3b7b85329 or just go to Store > Nokia Collection on your phone.

  • ITunes Internet Radio Catergory Gone

I was trying to listen to radio stations. I pulled up iTunes (v. 9.1.1), clicked on the Radio icon (under Library) and (as usual) got a list of radio categories. I clicked on "Folk" but it promptly disappeared! The Folk category is now gone and it won't come back, even after I restart iTunes. Everything else seems to be working okay. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

Yippee, it's back (at least on iTunes 10.7) ! I have missed exploring the variety of streaming radio stations.
    Thank you Apple!

  • I cannot get iTunes Internet radio to appear on my desktop iTunes installation on any platform, any computer running anything later than iTunes 10 or older. I have checked the box for Internet radio as a source

Yet iTunes keeps insisting, via promos and everything on their website, that I can use iTunes radio. I used to use this all the time and it just appeared as an item in the Library list in the sidebar.

Ha ha, it is a great computer......luckily for me, the liquid cooling system has never leaked as I've read others have suffered......
I never knew that 10.5 would install in this G5...I always thought that Tiger was the end of the line. How much memory do you think it might need to run 10.5? My Dual G5 runs 1.5 Gigs of ram......
The reason that I'm shy to upgarde to the next system is that IF something bad happens, our home business accounting Appl is on it...even though it's backed up to an external HD, the appl. (Quicken 2007) may not even be available anymore for the newer OS's so I'm going to eventually have to pony up for a new appl. that hopefully will import from Quicken.......
I also have Adobe CS2 on it and my 3D modeling appl. on it (Vellum)............I've gotten so used to running the newer CS suite that it's painfully slow on the old G5!
Thanks so much fo the help, GT!!! I mean it!

  • ITunes will not connect to the ITunes store but it will connect to the ITunes internet radio.

Tried everthing, reinstalled ITunes in a specific orfer, flushed the DNS, latest version of ITunes, checked computer clock, windows 7 firewall,
and still can not connect to ITunes store but I can open ITunes radio. Help!!!

Do you see an error message when trying to view the iTunes Store?
This Apple document, might be able to fix it for ya -> iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
If you're just seeing a blank iTunes Store, you could also try resetting Winsock. It worked for some in this thread (iTunes 10.4) -> With iTunes 10.4 I can access iTunes store.
MTG68 wrote - In windows 7, click on your start menu, go to accessories, right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator".  Once it opens, type in the following command...
    netsh winsock reset
hit enter and it should say something like winsock reset successful now reboot your computer.

  • All of a sudden my iTunes 10.1.1.4 will not connect to internet radio

    Hi all,
All of a sudden yesterday, my iTunes 10.1.1.4 will not connect to internet radio. It has otherwise been working fine for almost two years.
My internet connection is working fine for web browsing and email.
I ran the iTunes diagnositcs and it showed me how to go in to the Windows Firewall settings to check to see if there was a connection... there was already one for iTunes in the list of accepted connections. Just to be sure, I created a new iTunes connection exception and it didn't help.
The iTunes diagnostics test shows all information as being normal except this info, pasted in below, about the Firewall test...
    Firewall Information
    Windows Firewall is on.
iTunes is NOT enabled in Windows Firewall.
Connection attempt to Apple web site was successful.
Connection attempt to browsing iTunes Store was successful.
Connection attempt to purchasing from iTunes Store was successful.
Connection attempt to iPhone activation server was successful.
Connection attempt to firmware update server was unsuccessful.
    The network connection timed out.
But this information is partially incorrect, according to the Windows Firewall settings themselves.  My Windows Firewall settings show that iTunes is indeed enabled in Windows Firewall.
I can access the iTunes store, but there doesn't seem to be any test in the iTunes diagnostics that makes it test to see if it is connecting to the iTunes internet radio server.
Is there possibley a current problem happening with the iTunes internet radio connection?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Hi movem,
Are you saying that Apple has changed the URL for every internet radio station in the entire iTunes radio station library?... or are you suggesting that just some of the internet radio stations in my playlist changed their own URLs?
It seems unlikely that it happens to be that every single internet radio station in my playlist of a hundred radio stations all happened to change thier URLs at the same time, since all of the stations in my playlist will not play from that playlist.
When I went through and found some of the radio stations in the giant default internet radio station library in iTunes, I found some of my old ones that were in my playlist and they play fine and they can be put in to a new playlist and they play fine there too, but the very same stations still will not play from my old original playlist.
So it makes sense if you are saying that Apple has somehow changes all the URLs for all the radio stations in iTunes, because that make sense since they all play from the main radio library.
But, otherwise, to say that all the radio stations in my playlist happened to change their own URLs at the same time, that would be a bit far fetched.
Did you get some news from Apple that this happened, one way or the other?
PS: I'm having a hard time finding a few of the stations that were in my previous, original playlist as well... some of them have either disappeared, changed categories, gone off the air or changed their names.
    Thanks,
    numetro

  • ITunes thinks I'm not connected to internet. No internet radio, updates

I've used iTunes to listen to Wisconsin Public Radio for years. It recently quit working (on the iMac) but still works on the iTunes on the PC. If I got to "internet radio" list, it says I'm not connected to internet, check connections, etc.
Even if I try the iTunes "check for updates" it gives me the "not connected to internet, check connections" error. This has been going on for weeks. My internet connection works fine.
Am I the only person having this problem?

I've written to Apple about this major bug in iTunes several times, but they don't seem to be interested in fixing it or following up. Weeks after this started to happen, I'm still stuck launching itunes on a PC instead of my iMac.

  • After update an internet radio station no longer works.

After iTunes 12.1 update an internet radio station no longer works. Prior iTune internet radio station works fine.

I now believe the problem with IE9 was not related to HP, but to a Windows Update replacement to the “Intel Corporation - Display - Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family” drivers:  Intel Corporation Display software update released in February, 2011 (useless link  http://winqual.microsoft.com/support/?driverid=20411791).   IE9 started working OK when I set “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering*” (see http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1678709 with reference to “faulting module igdumdx32.dll”), so will now investigate removing that update.
Sorry to have cast aspersions on HP.  MS did this to themselves, as usual.
