Adding string to gui installation

Hi,
I have installed a gui 710 server
i want to enter a string for the snc field at the end of the installation
Can anyone assist me with this?

The SNC Name contained within the system entry can be set in the saplogon.ini file. Is that the area you're talking about?

passwords are also placed in SerializedSystemIni.dat (when you
install), this file needs to be moved from to all the config
subdirectories if its changed.

Portal Server 7.2 gui installer

We are installing Portal Server 7.2 in a sun sparc solaris 10 server thru remote desktop.
The gui installer screen is not completely showing up and mostly white.
ANy reason why it is so?

I also installed Portal 7.2 with remote X and I had no such problem.

Hello Wayne,
I followed all instructions.
Log file option does not work with silent mode.
If I specify log file option, it invokes GUI installer:
wls61sp4_upgrade_win.exe -f C:\software\installer.properties -log=C:\software\installer.log
If I do not specify log file Install Anywhere gives brief message "Installation
completed" but do nothing.
I do remote installation using NetOP and need to see problem.
Locally it works fine.
We have WebLogic 6.1 licences.

Adding string to combobox

Greetings~
I am encounter a problem in adding string to combobox. It is not a normal string. My string is like that "I have a red apple", I want the red in 'red' color and the other text in 'black' color, is it possible to deal with that problem..

It is possible, but it is also a lot of work. One way to do this is to provide your own renderer and parse the strings there to set the colors. I know that JLabel can interpret HTML code. If your combobox is not editable, you could use a JLabel and change the background color and border to make it resemble a JTextField. Anyway this is just an idea.

Oracle Linux 6.4 Do Not Boot After GUI Installation

Hi Guys,
I installed Oracle Linux 6.4 in my Virtual Box Machine with Minimal Option.
There was only command page withouth any GUI.
and then i have installed 'X Window System' and 'General Purpose Desktop'
by writing
yum groupinstall -y 'X Window System'
yum groupinstall -y 'General Purpose Desktop'
I changed /etc/inittab run level from 3 to 5
when i test it with by writing
init 5 and startx command. It worked and i could see GUI Desktop
BUT
when i shutdown system and re-open system. Page remains as shown below. Any help will be making me so happy.

solved the problem. I have issued your suggestion and i have received error with yum installation as shown below,
But then i have updated operating system with
#yum update
i reboot the system with
#reboot
and then i go into /etc/inittab file
#vi /etc/inittab
at the very end of file. I have changed runlevel 3 to 5 as you said.
and i test it with
#init 5
It worked !

Switced from Full GUI installation to minimal server interface or server core and stucked on black screen with no option

hi.
i have a virtual machine running Windows Server 2012 R2 Data Center Edition, using Hyper-V technology, as a lab machine to test and practice core features.
I tried to test the ability of switching to Core (and even the Minimal Server Interface after stuck and revert!)
using Powershell commands as bellow:
Import-Module ServerManager
Uninstall-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell -Restart
and it goes well until windows configured removal features and reboots. but
after that the VM will stuck in a black screen.
Tried to reach RUN TASK window to bring up CMD.EXE or any thing but even the ALT+CTRL+DEL (ALT+CTRL+END in VM) is not working and technically i cant do anything. considering CPU USAGE in hyper-V Manager is changing for the VM, i let the VM
work but after 2 hours i just got enough!
any idea why is this happening?

Adding functionality to GUI?

I hope you can help me with this general confusion about swing and functionality.
When doing all that has to do with the view part of the program, I have splitted it up in many classes.
Since i am doing a project about a cinema booking system, I imagine having a class for the view of theater, a class for the overview of all the shows and some more classes with some buttons on.(when saying classes, i mean classes that extends JPanel).

What should I do so that every link would change the JFrame to show another JPanel fx?
My problem is that the links have no reference to the frame. The code is just a example. The generel problem is: How do objects inside other objects get access to things outside themself that they want to change?
Sometimes i think it would be easier if I did my whole GUI in one big class(so every field would be accesible), but i bet thats generally a bad idea?
Is my design all wrong? Should I do it another way?

an example of a cardlayout would be an installation wizard, where you go through
all the EULA and option screens, via next/previous buttons. This type of cardlayout shows

SAP GUI installation issue.

In the middle of the installation, I'am getting an

How do i resolve it?

I have only seen this at the beginning of the installation. You can check the following Registry Key to determine if a restart is required:
<b>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\UpdateExeVolatile</b>
Value in RegEdit Meaning
0x00000000 (0) No pending restart.
0x00000001 (1) A software update removal is pending a restart.
0x00000002 (2) A software update installation is pending a restart.
'// 0x00000003 (3) Both an installation and a removal are pending a restart.
As Rich mentioned, cancelling the install, Restarting and re-running the installation should fix the problem.

Localization issue: adding strings to locale swfs

We are currently building an application that hosts flex
modules within an ASPX application. We have a "homepage" that
allows users to configure which dialogs (we call them widgets) will
show on their homepage. At this point, we have had one resource
bundle (.properties file) that we have used for all of the strings.
We compile these resource bundles in the locale swfs for each of
the 8 langauges we support.
The twist is that we also allow customers to write "custom
widgets" in Flex that they can add to the homepage if they so
desire. It sounds like they could create a custom .properties file
which would allow us to create a seperate resource bundle for the
strings for their dialog. But then would the en-us.swf have to be
recreated to include their bundle in the overall swf? If so,
wouldn't the client have to have our "standard app" .properties
file to make one cumulative en-us.swf?
Or can you have multiple locale swfs for different dialigs
(ie Standard.us-en.swf and Custom.us-en.swf)? That way our standard
strings stay seperate, but the client can still add their own?
Anyone have any thoughts?

I think you can have separate locale swf. I think you can use

I have gotten to this step for adding GlassFish V2 plugin.
Next screen:
Platform Location - "Box"
Then radio buttons:
Register Local Default Domain with Domains "Box"
Register Local domain
Register Remote domain
Create Personal domain with Profiles "Box.
I have no idea what to pick or what to type into the platform Location Box.

Adding additional components and installation path problem

Background:
In our organization we have 5 schools on 5 different locations and 5 seperated networks & AD-structures. We install our clients (over 2000 laptops) with the help of ghost images containing most of the necesary software, including Adobe CS3 Master Collection. However we dont include the complete suit since it's kinda large and we wanna keep the images as small as possible. for example Premiere is not included in the image. We use the same image for all 5 schools to keep it as simple as possible. The images are created on one of the schools (lets say school1) and distributed to the other sites ghost-servers. When creating the image CS3 is installed from a networkshare, \\school1server\applications (mapped as p:), where the installation files recide.
Problem:
A few students at school2 study film making so they need to install premiere. The installation files have been copied to their local fileserver: \\school2server\applications (maped to p: on tne local clients), and up until recently while still running win XP there hasn't been any problems running the setup file from the fileshare and add premiere to their installed components. However since we installed Vista the setup halts and asks the user to "insert a cd in \\school1server\applications"... So obviously there is a record somewhere on the client computer (registry, ini-file, xml-file or whatever) that still points to the original installation files, which isn't available to the local client. How can I get CS3 to just check for the installation files on the local server instead?
A long post for a simple question but I figured it's good to have as much info as possible...
Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Jane,
the Discovery System comes with full permissions and root access. This includes that you can do whatever you like with it. Be it installation of additional applications or patching.
Obviously there is a certain responsibility with it. Having super-user permission will enable you to mess-up the system as well.

Adding string methods? not concat

How can I add together strings such as "1" + "2" = "3"
not "1" + "2" = "12"
if there is no way to do this, how can I convert a string value such as "1" to 1, so I can then add these integers together?

SAPINST GUI installation

Hello.
We are testing the migration to Unicode of our ECC5.0 system. We are using standard procedure with the SAPINST tool.
We are trying to find out what is the most secure way to launch SAPINST and minimize the possibility of GUI hang. Actually we are launching SAPINST from a dedicated PC with Reflection X installed.
Anyone knows what happens if we have an accidental session disconnection or GUI hangs for any reason. Is it possible to reconnect to a graphical session or do we have to cancel and relaunch?
We don't want to startover again!!
We are wondering about the safer option.
