Adding substitute in uwl

Hi all,
How to add a substitute in a workflow, PCWF in UWL/NWBC a part from business workplace, is there any specific configuration needed to achieve this feature. we are on SRM 7.0
thanks in advance
Regards,
kiran

Every user should be able to add substitutes for himself from all inboxes. for example settings->workflow settings->maintain substitute in SBWP. or Substitution - Getting Started - Using SAP Software - SAP Library for the portal.
You can do so as admin using transaction RMPS_SET_SUBSTITUTE.

    Hi gurus,
    We have an requirement with the SRM portal
    When a user tries to set up a substitute via UWL,  if the user trying to create a substitute has an approval role in SRM, the portal will only allow it if the user they want to assign is also an approver in SRM.
    Points will be awarded for helpful answers.

  • Employee Search for substitute in UWL

    Hello,
    One of my customers would like to change the search function that is used when searching for a substitute in the UWL application in the Portal.
    Standard, this is a regular search. What is the easiest way to manipulate this search function so the results shows only managers?
    -Is it possible to customize this with the UWL customizing?
    -Do I need to go in the source (I believe it's JSPDynpage) and change the search function that is used?
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,

  • Controlling Substitute in UWL

    Hello
    Regarding the substitute functionality in MSS - UWL, the manager can set anybody as a substitute.
    But we wanted to restrict the manager to be able to select the substitute only amongest his/her peers.
    Is it possible and where?
    Thanks & Regards
    Raghu

    Hi,
    If you have such requirement i think you have to design the custom screen (WebDynpro) for that i guess.
    And you can control the substitution using
    The standard table for abap workflow where the substitution rules and users are stored is  - HRUS_D2.
    And the standart bapi is to define the substitution is: SWL_SUBSTITUTION_DEFINE.
    Note: I have no idea of how much it is safe to touch these standard tables.

  • New Performance Section Added to the UWL/UWL Sizing Guide

    Hi Everyone,
    Happy New Year!  I just wanted to inform you of some new documentation.  On the main UWL WIKI with the help of our development support colleagues, have added a Performance section in this WIKI.  It's worth taking a look.
    [Universal Worklist Wiki|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/ehU]
    Also, our colleagues in development support put together a handy sizing guide for UWL. You can find the document under this path: [Sizing documentation|www.service.sap.com/sizing]  --> sizing guidelines --> Solutions and Platforms New Structure --> SAP NetWeaver  --> scroll down to find Universal Worklist.  Here you will find the new sizing guideline for working with the Universal Worklist.

  • How SRM Substitute in UWL can be sc and Po seperatly insted of Standard ALL

    we are using Universal work list in SRM 7.01
    As per Requirement Manage Substitution need document wise like Shopping cart. .when we activated the shopping cart specific Substitution Rule only Shopping cart Tasks should be Shared to Nomine. Not other tasks PO,GR,invoice....etc .Standard supports All Tasks. How can this possible?

    Hello,
    put a break-point inside RH_INBOX_VIEW_CREATE function module.
    Here, you will see WI for excluded agents are deleted for substitutes. You could here add your own logic to exclude substitute(s) for tasks not linked to business object BUS2121.
    You will also have to manage to not send approval mail to substitutes. For these, use RECIPIENTS_GET method from BBP_OFFLINE_APP_BADI BAdI definition name.

  • UWL: Manage substitutes - iview pcd

    Hi experts,
    My client wants to have a new service on SAP ESS / MSS Portal that would link to "Manage Substitutes in UWL". Yes, it is available on the UWL, but it is quite difficult to users understand where they have to click to manage theirs' substitutions.
    Is it possible to get this iview pcd (I didn't find it) and create a new service that would link to this application?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best,
    AS

    Hi,
    yes, what you want to do is possible. As Siddarth mentioned, there is no Standard iView for this particular component, but you can simply make a custom iView.
    Create a new iView from WebDynpro JAVA Template. Fill the following properties:
    Namespace: sap.com/tckmcbc.uwl.ui~wd_ui
    Application: UWLSubstitution
    Then integrate it into a Portal Role, maintain Homepage Framework in case you use it, etc.
    I had the same problem like you and did it this way, because the Substitutor button on the UWL really is a joke. "Accessibility", eh?
    Cheers, Lukas

  • Open Form button on UWL is disappers, after changing the XMLs

    HI Frndz,
    We created a custom UWL(workbench) by creating uwl.standard.hr(from uwl. standard.xml),and when the workflows are triggered Items are not coming to our custom UWl , but these are coming fine to standard UWL.
    So i added the WF ITEMS into uwl.standard.hr manually and uploaded, now the items are coming to custom UWL(workbench), but when we click on Items these are not launching WDP application, this is the same case in standard UWL also.
    I came to know that when am adding the WF items to uwl.standed.hr than only OPEN FORM button is disappearing in custom and standard UWL also.If i delete these added entries in uwl.stranded.hr than standard UWL items are lunching well.But WF items are not coming to workbench(custom UWL).
    Plz suggest us.
    Regards
    Rajesh

    To be honest, I have only grasped < 100% of your message in detail, but...: Windows that have a parent<->child relation must be running in the same thread. In addition, after closing a modeless window, you must not use it anymore. Instead, create
    a new instance.
    What happens if you do not create a new thread but instead open the child in the same thread (which is obligatory)? You wrote it doesn't work, but I don't know why?
    "First I have to declare the child window as a global variable".
    How do you define "global"? Normally this is a variable in a Module declared with the scope Public or Friend. But I guess you mean a field of the Form (a variable at class level in the Form).
    "I need to be able to send messages from the main window to the child window so that the child window displays the volume."
    Why does the main window has to send the messages? Can't the child window handle the device's messages itself?
    "I need to run the child window using a separate thread as both windows need to be able to process commands."
    Process commands from the device, or commands from the user operating the Forms?

  • UWL default view

    Hi people,
    In a SAP EP 6.0 SP14, I have added the default UWL iView to the content I intend to provide to the end users. It is working fine, but I need to check something.
    For the tabs "Tasks" and "Tracking", there is a dropdown box where you can select one view among the available ones to display your items. My Portal has two options in this dropdown: <No Subview> and Collaboration.
    The issue is that the view <No Subview> is the default one, but I would like to have Collaboration view as the default one.
    Is it possible to configure? Can you please help me with documentation about that?
    Thanks in advance
    Fernando Urzedo

    You need to customize the UWL XML configuration like this:
    1. Download the configuration xml "uwl.standard" from the UWL administration / content configuration.
    2. In the file, locate the tag <NavigationNode name="Main" ...>.
    Keep it and the its nested tags, but delete all other tags like Actions, ItemTypes, Views in the XML (we do not want to customize them).
    3. Make the file look like this:
    <UWLConfiguration version="1.0">
      <NavigationNode name="root" view="" referenceGroup="">
        <NavigationNode name="Main" view="" referenceGroup="">
          <NavigationNode name="CombinedTask" view="<b>uwlTaskCollView"</b>
                referenceBundle="tasks">
            <b><NavigationNode name="any_name_here" view="uwlTaskCollView"
                referenceBundle="coll_task"/></b>
            <NavigationNode name="task2" view="DefaultView" referenceGroup=""
                referenceBundle="all_tasks">
    ... rest of nodes here ...
    The key changes are in bold.
    4. Upload the file in the UWL administration as new configuration (any name). It takes effect immediately, but you may need to log out / log on to see the changes.
    Don't worry, if there is any problem, just delete your configuration and the UWL automatically reverts to the standard configuration.
    The NavigationNodes under "Main" define the tabs.
    The NavigationNodes under "CombinedTasks" (represents the task tab) define the entries in the first dropdown. With the configuration, you tell UWL to use the collaboration view as first and default entry in the task tab dropdown.
    You can customize the tracking tab in a similar way (NavigationNode "CombinedTracking"). Unfortunately, I don't know the name of the collaboration tracking view, but you can figure it out easily by enabling the support info on the UWL iView. If you then select a UWL view at runtime, it shows you the view name (among other information) under the UWL.
    Also, in case you don't have it yet, check out the UWL How-to guide: https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/~sapdownload/011000358700002683342004E/UWL.pdf

  • UWL remove entries in uwl.webflow. systemalias (low)

    Dear Sirs,
    We re-registered our UWL system in the portal, which had not been done in a while.
    We have a custom task items, which has worked for several months. The handling for this task has been controlled by a custom (medium) config file (launches SAP transaction in new window, when subject is clicked)
    After we re-registered the following lines are added to our uwl.webflow..xml (low) file.
    <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.decision.TS91100XXX.ALIAS" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="viewDetail" executionMode="default">
    <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="P10300" externalType="TS91100XXX" connector="WebFlowConnector"></ItemTypeCriteria>
    The effect of this is that we no longer can click on the subject and get a transaction in a new window. When it is clicked now we are given a decision view.
    My question is, how can I remove the lines which was added by our re-registering?, and get it back the way it where.
    I guess it is not advisable to hack directly in the low files, which will we overwritten on next re-register anyway.
    best regards,
    Jørgen

    Hello Darren,
    I appricate your help.
    From file
    uwl.TS164
    , which is a file I have made and uploaded with medium configuration.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE UWLConfiguration PUBLIC '-//SAP//UWL1.0//EN' 'uwl_configuration.dtd'
      >
    <UWLConfiguration version="1.0">
      <ItemTypes>
        <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.TS91100164.ERP" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="Click" executionMode="default">
          <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="P10300" externalType="TS91100164" connector="WebFlowConnector"></ItemTypeCriteria>
          <Actions>
         <Action name="Click" groupAction="no" handler="SAPTransactionLauncher" referenceBundle="lauch_sap" returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes" launchInNewWindow="yes">
               <Properties>
            <Property name="p_nosecm" value="X"></Property>
            <Property name="display_order_priority" value="5"></Property>
               </Properties>
              <Descriptions default=""></Descriptions>
            </Action>
    </Actions>
        </ItemType>
      </ItemTypes>
    </UWLConfiguration>
    In the
    uwl.webflow.ERP (Low)
    , the following lines where added after I registered the system again. The task TS911000164 was made after we registered for the first time, and it worked as I wanted as wanted until the lines below was added to this file following a re-registration.
    <ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.decision.TS91100164.P10300" connector="WebFlowConnector" defaultView="DefaultView" defaultAction="viewDetail" executionMode="default">
          <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="P10300" externalType="TS91100164" connector="WebFlowConnector"></ItemTypeCriteria>
        </ItemType>
    So want I need to do is to somehow makes the above lines dissapear from the uwl.webflow.ERP file.

  • Substitution rules in UWL

    Hi,
    Can anyone explain the difference when you maintain substitute in UWL, when creating rule you can choose:
    Assign tasks
    Professional or disciplinary
    what's the difference?
    Best regards,
    Kjersti

    Hi,
    The task type Professional covers functional tasks; Disciplinary is used for HR tasks.

  • UWL substitution

    Hi all!
    I know there have been some similar questions in this forum earlier, but I didn't find the answer I was looking for so here goes...
    Is it possible to set up some kind of filter such that when a manager searches for a person to be set as substitute in UWL, only employees with manager-role will be shown in the search result in people-picker? Alternatively, is it possible to set some kind of restriction such that a person who is not a manager can't be set as substitute? (can BAdI WF_Substitute be used for this?)
    Further, we are using Central User Administration to store the users for all our customers (we are using multiclient environment where each customer has it's own client, but all users are stored in CUA which runs on a separate client). As a result, a search for e.g "Jones" will return all the employees named "Jones" even if some of them belongs to a different customer/client than the one setting up the substitute. Are there way of getting passed these problems? We are on ECC6.0/EP7.0.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Geir

    Whether an idea is good or bad usually does not depend on the number of "transactions". So what if it is 140 000 employees? As any large corporation it is really just a large collection of departments, not a single large department with 140 000 people. The question about whether they want to prevent regular employees from defining substitutes still apply. The question about whether not someone in the department may be just as relevant as substitute still applies.
    I agree one should not necessarily be presented with a list of all employees - definitely not without being allowed to enter search criteria first, but perhaps it would then be more relevant to limit to users in the same company code, or the same country, or some other criteria. The user should in my opinion be allowed to search for any other (dialog) user though. I strongly dislike the Microsoftesque 'we know you don't really want to see all options' way of thinking.
    It is possible to make solutions user friendly for both inexperienced and experienced users.

  • Workitems not showing up in UWL of Subsitute for approve working time

    Hi All,
    We have ECC 6.0, EP 7.0, ESS and MSS BP 1.0 and we have the following requirement.
    We are using approve working time functionality to approve deviations for Employees.The approval is done in single step i.e  by immediate Line manager .
    The Workflow task used in the CATS profile is TS20000460.
    The problem is that we cannot receive the substituted Manager's workitems in the substitute's UWL; we can also see the filters which allows us to filter off the workitems for "My Items" and "Items on Behalf Of.....".
    Can anyone help me out with what needs to be done . Is there some customizing settings needed or some other workflow task which i need to use.
    Thanks a lot,
    Manish

    Hi siddarth
    Thanks for the reply ..
    I understand the point and had already tried doing the Substitution from the UWL itself.But the problem is that after doing the sunstituion and making it active we are still not able to recieve the workitems in the substitute's UWL.
    Cud this be problem with the Workflow task . If yes please let me know if there is one which i can use or if there is something to be done with the settings and activation of the UWL's .

  • Regarding UWL Inbox

    HI Everyone,
       I am trying to configure UWL ,I want to show only 2 items in uwl which are custom webdynpro items,to be checked whether a condition can be added to the UWL config to show only 2 items.i want to know whether it can be done from UWL or it can be done from SAP R3 workflow.
    Thanks,
    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,
    As I understand from your question, you need the 2 workitems to be shown in the uwl and further you want to show these 2 workitems in the task tab with all the other tabs removed.
    If you want to maintain the task tab you can do modifications to the standard.xml.  In the standard.xml file search for the NavigationNode tab(at the end of the file). There you will find <b>NavigationNode name="alert2"</b>,  <b><NavigationNode name="notification2"</b> etc . So you can delete all these tags and the ones which follow them till the following code
    <NavigationNode name="MainTabs" view="" referenceGroup="" referenceBundle="universal_worklist">
          <NavigationNode name="WorkTab" view="" referenceGroup="UWL_GLOBAL_NAV" referenceBundle="work"/>
          <NavigationNode name="TrackTab" view="" referenceGroup="UWL_TRACK" referenceBundle="track"/>
          <NavigationNode name="StartTab" view="" referenceGroup="UWL_START" referenceBundle="start"/>
        </NavigationNode>
    But be careful while deleting and maintain the other closing tabs of NavigationNode.
    Another simpler approach to remove all the tabs is by going to the uwl view and setting the property 'UWL Navigation Style' to none. By doing this you will get rid of all the tabs.
    Hope it helps

    Prathamesh
