Adding Tablet and Phone

Hi all,
I just finished with the desktop version of my website. When I try to add a tablet and phone version to the website, (I select all 3: copy site plan, copy page attributes, copy browsers Fill), the contents didn't copy over.
Did I do something wrong or MUSE suppose to work that way?
If MUSE suppose to work that way, what's the easiest way for me to transfer my desktop content over to Tablet and Phone.
Thx in advance...

This is normal. Refer to the following article that explains how it works - http://helpx.adobe.com/muse/tutorials/creating-mobile-layout-designs-muse.html#id_30972.
Relevant excerpt is as under.
In a real-word website example, a desktop site may contain many additional pages with text and image content that may not be applicable to visitors using a handset. Before creating a mobile layout from an existing desktop design, spend some time imagining the use cases for mobile visitors. Be aware that if you try to display all of that desktop content on a small device, it can become unmanageable and difficult for visitors to navigate. One of the skills you gain as you begin designing sites for tablets and smartphones is the ability to convey useful information that is easy to read and interact with on a touch screen.
Thanks,
Vinayak

  • Can't make Tablet and Phone versions from Desktop

    Hi there,
    I made my site from Desktop layout and then clicked Tablet and Phone versions on menu bar, but nothing happened. Did I do or miss something before clicking Tablet or Phone button? First, please see the screenshot below.
    [Desktop version]
    At this point, I clicked Tablet button, but nothing happened as follows. I can't see anything. Why the Tablet layout doesn't import or take any content from Desktop layout? Of course, I chose the default option when I added Tablet layout.
    [Tablet version]
    Thanks for your help in advance.

    Hi Parikshit,
    Thank you so much for your quick reply. I thought clicking those buttons took all the content from "Desktop" layout. I'm shaming myself! :-)  I figured it out and finally made "Phone" version.

  • HTML Responsive Layout for tablet and phone is not showing icons correct on a converted help file

    I am using the Responsive HTML Layout in RoboHelp 11.  On all of my new help files, the layout works great and my icons are showing appropriately.  On all of my old help files that were converted, my icons do not fit within bar for the tablet and phone.  I am using the Government Theme (Theme2_Government), but modified the file to have our colors and logos.  I exported the .slz file and I am using the same slz file in all of the help files.  The only help files that are cutting off the icons are the help files that were converted from previous version of RoboHelp.  Any idea why this would happen?

    This is from the converted file showing the icons that are cut off in the blue bar.
    This one is from a new help file and the icons fit within the blue bar.
    The same thing happens the phone layout with the bar at the bottom.

  • Menu is not working well on tablet and phone

    Hi,
    I started with a BC template for www.extraleisure.nl 2 months ago.
    The menu isn't working well. when you go to "advies" there are submenus but they disappear verry fast so you don't have time to put the buttom.
    How can I fix this?
    Than I also need to make the site good for mobile (tablet and phone)
    I’m not that technic that I follow all about Menu Module V2
    I didn’t rename the divs
    I didn't make changes in Modules templates > Menu
    I didn’t change the class or scripts below.
    <div id="navigation" class="sf-menu sf-navbar">
    <script src="/CatalystScripts/Java_DynMenusSelectedCSS.js" type="text/javascript">
    <div id="cat_14623_divs">
    <ul id="nav_14623">
    </div>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <div id="navigation-base"></div>
    </div>
    I went to Site settings > Mobile support > Mobile templates for Responsive site.
    Than I went to site manager > Menus > copied the main menu and gave it the name Mobile menu
    Than i went to site manager > Page Templates and started with the first template http://www.extraleisure.nl/Admin/Templates_Details.aspx?TemplateID=114942 to ad the mobile menu in the Phone Content.
    I removed the main menu {module_menu,14623} and put the new menu with site modules > Menu > select menu > Mobile Menu
    <div id="navigation" class="sf-menu sf-navbar">{module_menu,1492705}
    <div id="navigation-base"></div>
    </div>
    So now theres only 1 template with the Mobile Menu.
    But when I go to the page http://www.extraleisure.nl/Admin/WebPages_Detail.aspx?PageID=824455 on my mobile I don’t see the vertical menu.
    When I created before a responsive website with Dw I saw css for main, tablet and mobile ?
    I don’t now where BC puts the css of this new menu?
    So I told the vertical Mobile Menu to use my own css
    Do I have to create a new stylesheet for mobile?
    Can you please help me.
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards,
    Carla

  • Does anyone know why I am having formatting issues with my tablet and phone sites? I only have the desktop layout. There are banners and footers not reaching the edge of the screen.

    I only have the desktop layout. As I was having such problems with the tablet and phone layouts. However there are banners and footers not reaching the edge of the screen. This is only a problem when accessing the site via a phone or tablet.
    the site is www.excellententertainment.biz
    Cheers

    Do a Select all on your pages (Most likely a master page if it effects all pages) and you will likely find an empty element or element that extends past the design edges in your desktop design.

  • Xperia Tablet and Phone on Windows

    I would love to see an Xperia phone especially, but also a tablet running Windows OS. The new Z3 line looks beautiful, and I would love to purchase a new phone from you, but I want a phone running the Windows Phone OS.
    All the laptops in my house are Sony brand, and I love them- great quality. I want more Sony in my life
    Are there any plans for such a device? Should I hold out, or should I take my business elsewhere?

    Aish,
    So I backed up and connected the tablet and phone layouts to my desktop one. I had to repopulate all the pages, but it at least it copied the page attribute data. Though now, when I create new pages in the desktop layout, I still have to manually create the identical pages in tab and phone layout modes. I thought it would at least create a new page in the other layouts and copy the page attribute data, but it doesn't. Am I doing this right?
    I though that was the whole point of connecting the layouts at the very beginning. So that one could create a new page and have, at the very least, the metadata and page name copy to the other layouts. But that's now how it works, huh?

  • Muse displaying desktop version on tablet and phone

    As I developed a website and published it on Business Catalyst <http://cq-build-026.businesscatalyst.com/>, the correct version of the website would be presented on a desktop computer (MacBook Pro), a tablet (iPad) and a phone (iPhone).
    But this morning I pointed our domain name <www.cq-whatsyours.com> to Business Catalyst, and now the desktop version is being served to all three devices.
    As a temporary solution, I've add <Tablet> and <Phone> buttons at the bottom of the desktop home page, so the viewer can jog things to the device-appropriate pages, but this is obviously not a great long-term approach.
    I attempted to search the forum for background on this, but there seems to be quite a nest of information that is hard to unravel
    Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Bradley

    Thanks Sanjit,
    Yes, working now ... I think it was a cookie issue — once on the desktop version, stuck on the desktop version. I suspect that it was clearing cookies that did the trick but am not positive.
    Appreciate your response and your good responses to previous questions.
    By the way, sure wish I could pin things on tablet layouts. Might be an iPad vs other tablets issue, I don't know.

  • Do I need to add meta tag info to all pages if I'm creating a desktop, tablet and phone site?

    Hi all,
    I'm creating a website for a client and have built a desktop, tablet and mobile site.
    What I'm wanting to know is can I add meta tags to only the desktop pages or does it need them on the tablet and mobile sites as well? Does this include images as well since the same images are repeated on all three site?
    Lastly I have to add Google Analytics to the <head> section, is this only done on the home page of the desktop site or does this need to be added to every page (including tablet and mobile)?
    Would be grateful for any info or links.
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hi guvieira,
    I found the answer to this issue.
    For the meta tags, if you create meta tags for the desktop pages, you can copy and paste that information to the tablet and mobile sites.
    For the Google Analytics you can copy the tracking html text to the 'HTML for <head>' in the Metadata window (Page - Page Properties) on your masters page (this will flow onto the rest of the pages).
    Hope this helps.

  • PROTECT YOUR TABLETS AND PHONES!

    Being the neighborhood geek and fixing everyone's problems, I run into this problem constantly: people think that since android phones are unix-based (or off topic: they think their Apple products are safe from spyware and viruses), that they don't get antivirus/anti-spyware for  these devices.
    This is critical especially if you do your banking, or other sensitive stuff on your tablet or phone.  Both the Android Play Store and the ITunes store have free programs that are sufficient for a general level of protection for these devices.
    Please be sure to pass this on to friends, family and colleagues.  I see it every day more and more where phones and tablets are being compromised because they have no adequate protection.  If they balk, pose this question: What's more expensive - buying an antivirus program for $30-50, or spend thousands of $$$ hiring an attorney to fix a stolen identity and the ruined credit rating that comes with having it stolen.
    Hope this is helpful.  Call me paranoid, but seeing these things first-hand, I can't be too careful.

  • How can I stop my site from appearing at the left in the tablet and phone layouts?

    At the moment my site works on desktop browsers but appears pinched to the left on phones and tablets.
    www.lrproductions.biz
    I have checked for any miscellaneous text boxes, and I also removed the scrolling fx to try and fix the the bug. Nothing seems to be working. I would really appreciate any help.

    Hello,
    Please make sure that there is no element line rectangle or text box outside browser are in Phone and tablet layout.
    If it is then either delete them or move it inside browser area.
    To find the exact browser area Please click on View > Show Grid Overlay. Pink Shaded area is the browser area.
    Please let me know if it do not work for you.

  • How to repopulate the tablet and phone files in a site

    I messed up the phone and tablet versions of a web site.
    I can manually delete all but the index page of the phone and tablet versions
    I want to remove all of them and then use the Muse Add phone layout and add tablet layout to re-import all my desktop pages
    Is there any way to do that a second time in a muse site?
    Thanks
    Kirby

    Yes, absolutely you can.
    Right click on the button for the view you want to delete.
