Adding TC to new wifi network

I have come home and the wifi hub has been changed (due to not working) however i didnt disconnect from the old wifi network and now my TC just keeps flashing amber... I am wanting to know how to add my TC to my new network.
I have tried via airport utilty but it does not pick the TC up....any ideas??

You will need to perform a Factory Default Reset on the Time Capsule and then configure it again to join the "new" network.

Here something in the router is the printer IP set so that the computer knows what IP to print to? I know on my network printer with a Netgear router I have to set two IP address for both printer so that when I install printer software it knows where to find the printer and set the right print driver to the right printer. Did you do that? I could be that it can't find the printer on the network so that is why it gets stuck in the queue. You have to make a Static IP printer address so the print software knows where to send the print command to.

Created new wifi network, lost contact with my printer

Replaced an older Time Capsule this week with a new one as my wireless base station and renamed my wifi network in the process.
But now HP Photosmart C4380 can't find my new wifi network.
The printer's network test report says the Network Name (SSID) is not found.
How do I help my printer find it's way home to the new base station network?

If you have the printers IP address open Terminal applications/Utilities and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.

Hi. I moved and now my wifi network name and password are different. How do I reconfigure my time capsule so that it's on the new network without losing any of my exsting information on it?

The Time Capsule is designed to function optimally when it connects to a modem/router using a wired Ethernet connection.
Are you planning to try to configure the Time Capsule to connect to your new network wirelessly?
In either case, you must reset the Time Capsule back to factory default settings and then set it up again to connect to the new network.
To do this....
Power off the Time Capsule for a few minutes
Hold in the reset button first, and then keep holding the reset button in for an additional 10 seconds while you simultaneously plug the power back into the Time Capsule
Release the reset button after the hold period, and allow a full minute for the Time Capsule to restart to a slow, blinking amber light
Now you can reconfigure the Time Capsule again to connect to the new network....and you can use the same Time Capsule device name and device password that you used before if you wish.
Resetting the Time Capsule only affects the network settings, it will not affect any of the data that you have stored on the Time Capsule hard drive.

OSX 10.9.2 iMac won't scan for new Wifi networks.

Sometimes I will tether the mac to my cell phone (because roomates hog bandwidth). The problem is that when I click the Wi-fi icon in the upper-right hand corner, it shows Wifi networks it has found before but it will not scan for new ones (such as the tether I just started). I have mac laptops and this works just fine on older versions of Mac OsX. Is there something I'm missing?
<Edit> I just found that I can open the "Wireless diagnostic tool" and then choose "Utilities" and then ask it to "Wi-fi scan". It's just hard to believe that something that used to happen with one click is now buried under secret menus and hidden options.

That is not normal because I am running 10.9.3 on my MBP and it is constantly looking for networks. However, mine is a regular router, not a phone. I could be wrong, but I thought I read that cell providers did not support using computers with their cell network as it wasn't meant for "heavy" traffic - not sure if that could have something to do with your problem.

How to reroute Internet received from WiFi to a new WiFi network?

I have been using large amounts of my Internet allowance playing games on my Xbox 360 (yes Microsoft but I was forced to by friends) and it doesn't need the same amount of Internet as my computer, I want to reroute the Internet that I pick up using my iMac's WiFi and slow it down to around 50kbs and make a new network for my Xbox to run off, I will also be running my iPad off this network.

No, changing to a different wifi network has no effect on emails. However, if you disconnect your device from icloud (Settings>icloud) and then connect using a different ID (a different icloud account), then you will lose the emails.
I provided info above for both a wifi connection and icloud connection, since you used the expression, "wifi account" and that is not a correct expression to use. You connect to a wifi router possibly using a password, and connecting to icloud is a totally unrelated thing.

HP Deskjet 3050 J610 unable to connect to new wifi network

I have just changed from ADSL to Cable internet and have a new modem/wifi router (Netgear).
I am unable to get my printer to connect to the new wireless router with WPS.
The printed network config page generated by the printer still shows my old network SSID and resetting printer doesn't clear it.

Adding Express to new AEBS network

I've had a simple setup with an older Extreme Base station and an Airport Express(2004) to extend the network. I recently replaced the AEBS with a new dual band base station and found that I have greater coverage and do not need the AE. The connection is more stable and faster.
I will be moving the dual band AEBS to a back corner of the house and connecting a Dell PC to it by ethernet cable. (I am a ham radio operator and trying to set up a remote connection via the internet to my radio at another location--someplace away from the electrical noise of the city!) Since the AEBS will be in a far corner, I am anticipating that I will once again need to extend the network so that we have wireless coverage in the remainder of the house. What are the tradeoffs by using my 2004 AE, vs
a new AE vs another dual band AEBS? I don't want to lose the stability and speed to which I've grown accustomed.

If you use your older AirPort Express to extend the network, you'll need to use the WDS type of configuration. The downsides to WDS are significant:
1) WDS operates only at "g" wireless speeds, so you will lose any benefit of having faster speeds on your AEBS as it will drop down to "g" wireless when you configure it to participate in the WDS network
2) There will be a 50% drop in bandwidth on the entire network with WDS. In effect, you'll have a "g" wireless network operating at half speed....exactly the same setup that you had before with the older AirPort Extreme
I don't want to lose the stability and speed to which I've grown accustomed.
Then you will need to use the 802.11"n" version of the AirPort Express to maintain the faster "n" speed that you have grown accustomed to. Instead of WDS, you'll configure the new Express to "extend a wireless network".
Since you have a dual band AEBS, you may want to consider getting another dual band AEBS to "extend" both the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz networks that your new AEBS is providing.
The AirPort Express can only extend one band...either the 2.4 GHz network or 5 GHz, but not both simultaneously. Only the AEBS can do that.

MacBook Pro Retina late 2013 not scanning for new WiFi networks

My late-2013 Macbook Pro w. retina screen is usually connected to my workplace wi-fi network.
Sometimes I need to disconnect from the usual network and connect to my Samsung S4's personal hotspot network.
I start the hotspot on the phone and I click on the wi-fi icon on the top bar.
Since a few weeks, the MacBook appears not to scan for new networks and does not show the phone's hotspot.
Earlier it used to display a "scanning for networks" message, and in a few seconds the phone hotspot's SSID appeared.
I am able to connect to the phone's hotspot using a workaround: from the icon, I click network preferences at the bottom of the list.
From the Network Preferences pane, in the middle, there is a droplist. I shows just the current network (the workplace network). I click the double arrow icon on the right and select "join other network". Then I cancel the popup window. The list now shows all networks around, including my phone's hotspot.
Is it a common/known issue? Will it be fixed? Thanks in advance

the "Wi-Fi: Looking for Wi-Fi networks..." is back.

Came home yesterday to find my time capsule has an orange light blinking and my wifi network is no longer working. Not sure how/why this happened and can't get it working. Do i just reset it and will this lose my backups? Or can I create a new wifi n/w?

Its an 802.11n (4th Gen) model
I looked at the diagnostics screen (next to the blinking orange icon on the Airport Utility and it says there are four issues:
the software (currently V 7.6.1) has an update available. If I click update I get the error message "There was an error connecting to the update server. Check your network settings and try again". However, nothing's been changed settings-wise
The other 3 status issues are:
Internet Connection - but the router is working fine and I can connect to the router via wifi on my MacBook Pro
No DNS Servers - I have no idea what this means
Ethernet Unplugged - it's not and I also replaced the ethernet cable which has no effect
Do I just cut my losses and hit the reset button - if so will I need to back everything up again (i.e. I will no longer be able to access my backups) or do I just set up a new wifi network - again, will this impact on my backups?
Any help/advice would be appreciated - thanks

Do a factory reset .. nothing will be deleted from your backups and you will be able to get access to them again.
The Factory Reset Gen1-4.
Unplug your TC. Hold in reset. and power the TC back on.. without releasing reset for about 10sec. When the status light flashes rapidly; release it.
Be Gentle! Feel the switch click on. It has a positive feel.. add no more pressure after that.
TC will reboot after a couple of minutes with default factory settings and will wipe out previous configurations.
No files are deleted on the hard disk.. No reset of the TC deletes files.. to do that you use erase from the airport utility.

Macbook PRO can't find ANY Wifi network - only at home

Hi, i have a very strange problem with my *Macbook Pro*. I have 3 apple computers at home and one pc. On all machines Wifi works fine, except my new alu Macbook Pro. Important note is, when im with my macbook on other place, office, caffe, *Wifi works fine. But when im at home, this macbook simply can't find ANY network, it's blind.* Interesting thing is, all other computers are several years old and WiFi works fine on them. My friend also bought a brand new macbook pro, and this machine also couldn't fine any network at my home, or in other case when it found networks, it couldn't connect and recieve error message "Connection timed out". I noticed there is new Wifi network in our range, is it possible that this network can cause "blindness" on new macbooks?

Well, router is almost on default settings, SSID is brodcasted and i'm not filtering MAC adresses. I tried changed channels, diffrent types of security or no security, no luck.
Guys, maybe i wrote it wrong, but this MacBook can't see ANY network. Around me there are 4-6 other networks which I'm able to see from other machines. So *problem is, this Macbook can't seen ANY network - not just mine.* BUT when i'm with this Macbook in office for example, or any other location, Wifi works....
And one more important thing, this happened suddenly. I was able few months ago to find any WiFi around me with this Macbook. No changes to router, no changes to mac. Problem is somwhere in the middle...try to focus on this: why i'm not able to see any of those cca 6 networks around me. I really think it has to do something with distorted signal and Wifi card used in new macbooks. It's really sick, because all other machines works perfectly (MB 07, MBP 06, PC, iPhone 3g)

Airport Express disconnects wired internet connection when attempting to extend Airport Extreme WiFi network

I just purchased and airport express to extend my wifi network. My base station is an airport extreme, I have one wired connection and a wifi network. When I go through the recommended steps to set up the express and "extend the network", the airport extreme will no longer connect to the internet via ethernet. I have tried various settings and can't seem to resolve the problem. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Ok so we now have a solution to the problem. A friend of mine came round to work this out with me last night and we were able to get it working, but it is not as easy as I had hoped. Fisrtly we plugged the airport express into my router using the ethernet cable (for this I am using an Airport Express Base Station") and in airport utilities selected the airport express. In edit, we then gave the airport express a new range of IP address which did not conflict with any of the other applications that I have already assigned. We also named the Airport Express with a distinguishable name. We then waited for the changes to be registered then unplugged the Airport Express from the router. I then plugged my AppleTV via HDMI into a tv to test it and selected the new wifi network with the new Airport Express distinguishable name. I was able to watch a video that I have on my ipad directly on my tv without being connected to the internet, and was able to play Airplay presentations.
No the easiest solution, and certainly not something that anyone at Apple has talked me through in my lengthy conversations with them at Applecare.

How can I get my wireless printer to join my wifi network?

Since HP Setup Assistant doesn't work with Mavericks, is there another way to get my wireless printer connected to my new wifi network? This printer (HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809) worked just fine with Mavericks on my old wifi network. But my DSL provider recently installed a new router, so I have a new wifi network, which works just fine with everything else.
I was able to get my two Airport Expresses to join my new network, using Airport Utility, but I'm stumped as to how to get my printer to join the new network without the aid of HP Setup Assistant.
Following the advice of Shlomi, I managed to reset my printer so that it now appears in my list of wifi networks under Devices, as hpsetup. But that's as far as I got. Any help would be most approeciated.

Bruce777 solved this for me, thank you Bruce! My printer now works perfectly on my new wifi network!
Bruce's instructions, for anyone else having the same issue:
- delete any previously set up printers
- scrub old hp software and update software to get the hp 2.8 drivers
- remove the usb cable from the printer if you have one connected
- reset the printer network to hpsetup (hold down the power button and press network button 2x and then cancel 3x, release power button.)
- print out the wireless network test report (hold down the network button and press the update button 2x). verify the network name / ssid is hsetup
- got to sys prefs > network and change the mac wireless network to hpsetup
- go to the sys pref > print scan
- add the HP 8000 printer
- click on the options and supplies button and click on the Show Printer Webpage
- click on the networking tab > wireless in the left pane > start network wizard and change the network from hpsetup to your network
- finish (this page may freeze up. close the browser)
- go back to the sys prefs and change the wireless network back to your networt
- go to the printer and print out the wireless network test report (press network button and update button 2x). Check that the SSID is your network
- go to sys prefs > print scan > select your printer > options & supplies > show printer webpage > network info (check ssid and compare to wireless network test report)
- try printing something to your printer. It might take a little time the first print.

IPhone 4 does not see my home WiFi network anymore.

All of a sudden, a few days ago, my wife's iPhone 4 (initially with iOS 6.0.1, now with iOS 6.1) does not see anymore my home WiFi network (created by a Time Capsule), to which it connected automatically.
This has worked flawlessly for years but now the home network (nothing has been changed to its configuration) does not appear in the list of networks seen by the iPhone 4 (mine, iPhone 5 - iOS 6.1 - has no problem at all) and when trying a manual connection I get an error message saying that the network was not found. When I tested, I was a feet away from the Time Capsule.
I have turned the iPhone off and on again twice, to no avail. Just to try something, I created a new WiFi network from my iMac and it was immediately seen by the iPhone 4.
I don't see what could explain these symptoms and what would be the cure.
