Adding text via in-browser editing?

I have set up a press release page for my client's current website.
American Power Group - Press Releases
They want to be able to add press releases on their own. From what I have read, the current in-browser editing does not allow the user to make any formatting changes (bold, size, color) or attach links. They can edit current copy, but if they need to add content, they do not have this ability. Am I correct?
Does anyone know a work around for this? Keeping in mind that I know very little about coding. I have read that the Muse team is working on getting these options available to us, but of course, we have no idea when that will be.

How do I access other areas of a single page website via in browser editing

I have created a single page website in adobe muse. The menu is made up of hyperlinks to jump to other areas of the website. I would like to update a slideshow that is NOT on the home screen only I cannot access any other area of the website via Business Catalyst in browser editing apart from elements on the home screen.

You can click the Menu Item which will scroll the page to that specific section and then you can use edit.

Photo gallery able to reorganise into subcategories + adding new images via in-browser editing

Hi,
I'm looking for a photo gallery which has the ability to reorganise the images displayed based on subcategories or tags. For example I want to add a gallery which contains photos of a clients projects. The client wants site visitors to be able to shuffle the gallery to view only for example "stone walls" or "timber decking". A tagging system would be handy rather than having to load the photos into each subcategory.
The other consideration is that my client needs to be able to add new images with tags using the in-browser via Business Catalyst. So far I have only succeeded in replacing existing images rather than adding new images.
Is there such a widget for Muse or are there anyother widgets for wordp-ress or other which could be embedded to tdo the job.

If I am not wrong, basically you want to provide users an option to select category of images which they want to show up on page.
From Muse we cannot tag or categorize them , also photogallery module in BC does not provides this option, but there is a workaround with web apps.
You can create a web app and then web app items as images and then categorize them. On page insert the web app with categories drop down, so when users will select the category those web app items would be displayed on page. Additionally you can add custom fields in web app to search using keyword.
With editing , clients can login to BC admin and then using photogallery module or web app module ( if used ) to edit the images, add new ones. IBE cannot be used to add new ones but to replace existing ones.

Are there any plans to allow embedded html to be edited via in-browser editing?

I have just finished chatting to support who say that they cannot comment on this.
It seems like an important feature to have when some clients need to be able to edit such details themselves after the site has been completed.
Perhaps there could also be a feature added where the ability to choose whether or not html can be edited (in-browser) could be selectable from within Muse before uploading the finished website, thus keeping control when clients don't need access to this feature.
I hope that this happens soon as I am currently in the early stages of building two sites which could really use this feature.

The answer is yes of course.
For images - Modern work - Left right align not that good. Your better creating classes to float the images and have those in your dropdown. You get better results as well.
You can go into your partner portal and customise the editor - Turning off the inline font stuff for example is a 100% must for us to avoid issues and the SEO implications those give.
I would highly recommend doing a .image-left and .image-right class dropdown options and in the CSS for those float:left etc with margin around the image... Heaps better output and clean markup.

Adding attachment via File browse not working

Hi, I'm using Apex 4.1.1 through GlassFish server 3.1.1. Recently I've imported my database application and after running my app, adding of an attachment isn't working anymore. Before I used Apex via Emb. PL/SQL Gateway(from which I've exported app sql) and everything worked just fine. My code for adding attachment is like this:

If I skip this piece of code, and try to submit page(where is also couple of other insert statements), then is ok.
What is the problem of this, GlassFish, wwv_flow_files table, apex listener...?

Can I add a photo in in-browser-editing?

I would like to add a photo to the thumbnail slideshow. Can this be done in the inbrowserediting? Or is it only available to the muse file?

Adding new images to the slideshow can only be done inside Adobe Muse. This feature is not as of now available via In Browser Editing. You can however replace existing images via In Browser Editing.

Unable to print added text only in Acrobat Pro XI

User is trying to print added text that's been added to an existing PDF page. In Acrobat X she chose "Form fields only" under Comments & Forms from the Print menu. In XI it produces a blank page. The added text only shows up if she chooses Document or Document and Markups, but then she gets the entire document. She only wants the added text to print.

Thanks to all who commented here. I found that adding text using Tools>Content Editing>Add Text will not allow the user to print solely the added text. As everyone responded here, that's as designed. However, using Comment>Annotations>Add Text does allow the user to print solely the added text as she was used to doing in Acrobat X. I thought it was the same tool under two different headings, but obviously they interact differently in the print menu. Choosing Form fields only from the Print Menu's Comments & Forms panel will produce solely the text added under the Comment panel's Add Text tool without printing the rest of the document page. And the user doesn't have to turn the document into a form to do so.

Slideshow In-browser editing issues.

After I edit the slideshow via in-browser editing, I choose "sync with web version" in Muse. Two things:
1. The newly uploaded thumbnail is cropped oddly.
2. The slide uploaded via in-browser editing does not sync.
Basically, the client goes to the site and makes a bunch of edits that I cannot sync in Muse. Only the thumbnails edits show up, and most of the time they show up randomly cropped.
This is driving me crazy. Any ideas?

We are publishing to BC, where the client has access to upload content. When the site is ready, we’ll publish to our own FTP host.
No warnings when updating the slideshow.
The crop issue happens only when we sync, yes. The thumbnails changed by the client look fine on the live site. Below is a link to the page:

As you can see, the thumbnails do not match the image in the slideshow. When the client changes the thumbnails, and images in the slideshow, they look fine and match. When we try to sync, only the thumbnails show up. When we update/publish to BC, we override the changes the client made because we're not syncing properly with the live site.

Does In-Browser Editing now allow adding/changing links to images and text?

There are images that link up to pages within the site and to external sites. When a client wants to change the image it needs to link to a new page. Is there a way they can now do that with in-browser editing?

Muse disables in browser editing of synchronised text

I check the box in page preferences "Engable in Browser Editing"
I also check the box "Enable for synchronised text
Fasthosts, is running PHP 5.4 (and the documentation states 5.1 for in browser editing of synchronised text).
And every time I upload the site, it tells me it's switched off the synchronised text editing.
Why would this be?

This message will appear and InBrowser Editing of Synchronized Text will be turned off if/when Muse finds it cannot update the .htaccess file for your site during the upload process.
Synchronized text relies on the use of .php for the pages of your site that include synchronized text. This means that one or more of your existing .html pages would change from being mypage.html to mypage.php. That change would break external links to the page and potentially impact SEO. Therefore Muse will put information into the .htaccess file so mypage.html works as the name for mypage.php and external links and SEO are preserved. If Muse finds it cannot write updates to the .htaccess file, then it doesn't use .php for any of the pages of your site and your page file names don't change. However, that means updating synchronized text via InBrowser Editing isn't available, since it requires .php pages.

How can I remove the underline from added text for tracing edits

We have a lot of content that includes underscores and when we use the track text edit feature added text is green and underlined. How can I change the properties of the added text to not be underlined?

Starting with FM11, you could specify a custom colour to be used for track changes, but the styles (underline, strikethrough) are still hardwired.
Even if you try to make the changes to the rack text edit conditions in a MIF file, they will get overwritten as the MIF is interpreted when opened by FM.

Can I add a link into a text box with in-browser editing

Is it possible to set up a text box with some text and subsequently change the text to include a hyperlink with in-browser editing with a site hosted on a third party server?

You can add the the link to the text using the Hyperlink manager at the top. You can link it with any internal or external URL.

This is most likely an issue with Apple's iOS Mail program's.
I think you are opening your modified PDF in Apple built-in PDF Preview. Apple's code does not properly draw the comments, but if you look at the PDF in virtually any other PDF application that isn't just using Apple''s code, or on any desktop computer, you will see the comments you've added.

Why can't I use in browser editing with synchronized text?

I have created a muse site that has a desktop version as well as a phone version. I have synchronized the text on the site and I want to enable in-browser editing, but it tells me that I cannot because my server does not appear to support page redirects. Upon further investigation, I have found that PHP 5.1 or greater is needed. My server is running 5.3. I spent an hour on the phone with adobe tech support last week, and that was a joke. Any suggestions?

.htaccess is a file. I would expect there to be one in each folder that represents a website.
Every export from Muse 2014.2.0 (or later) will attempt update this file or will attempt to create the file, if there is none. If you're not using synchronized text, the file will contain an empty section that's maintained by Muse that will look like the following:
# Begin Muse Generated redirects
# End Muse Generated redirects
If you're using synchronized text, there will be a series of commands that associate the new *.php file names with the former *.html file names for any pages that use synchronized text.
I frankly don't know what would cause GoDaddy to be refusing to let Muse create or update this file. If the file doesn't exist, you might try using File > Export as HTML from Muse and then manually put the .htaccess file in place (with Filezilla, etc.). Once it's there, perhaps subsequent FTP uploads from Muse will be able to update it.
