Adding Top of Page link

I am doing a website were my client has some articles they are posting. Is there anyway to add a top of page link in iWeb, I can't figure it out and this would be very helpful for people viewing the page. Thanks a head of time for everyone's help!

How do you add a new page to a site without it auto-adding a link at the top of the page navbar?
I need to add a link to a page from one of the main pages.
One thing I lvoe about iweb is how intuitive and simple it is to make sites but I miss some of the flexibilities of a (CSS, dreamweaver, golive, etc).

I have a "Donate" page and want to take the donater to a thank you page after transaction is complete so I obviously want the rest of the links of Navbar on the thank you page (so they can get back to the site) but i obviously don't want my "thank you for donating!" page on the main site navbar. I may have to make a seperate site and manually just copy paste in the mainsite navbar links.

I created a web page for our church and added a navigation bar at the bottom of each page.
This NavBar works fine
Using the same method, I added 'top of page' links on the longer pages and these work fine on my mac, and on other macs, and on my work PC in Firefox.
But when i check with Explorer , every 'top of page' link takes me back to the Welcome Page. I've relinked them at home, even made new text boxes and relinked them, but it never changes.
I've even refreshed the Explorer page, but still I return to Welcome, from all of the different 'top of page' links.
Any ideas how to fix this?

And the main culprits that I've noticed are the Stained Glass and First Church pages.

Thank you for telling me this. It makes me feel better knowing that they work after all.
Related to my other problem, I was asked what version of IE I was using on the pc, and it's probably an older one, so that could be the problem, too, or it has some sort of a kink in its system.

Field Descriptions without TOP OF PAGE

Hi Experts,
I have one Z report and this was written somebody long back.
This report was normal standard report i.e just writing the table values to screen using WRITE statement.
Eventhogh there is no TOP OF PAGE event in the report, field names were displaying in the screen output with highlighted color.
As soon as WITE statement calling, program is displaying fieldnames automatically? how it possible?
Now, I modified my program by adding another field values to the screen output.
The field which I added it's not showing field name.
How can I display my field description to that output. (without adding TOP OF PAGE)
As I told you report doesn't have TOP OF PAGE event. Please help me.

Raghu,
I'm guessing that your report is organized in a tabular form and by field description you mean column headings. There are two ways to display column headings 1) by explicitely writing the WRITE statements to output to the column headings, 2) by maintaining the standard list & column headings. (in ABAP editor follow menu path GOTO>Text Elements>List Headings.
You can disable the display of standard headings by using addition in NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING as below.
REPORT YTEST NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING
              LINE-SIZE 120
              LINE-COUNT 65
              MESSAGE ZMSG.

How do you make a menu link to child pages instead of just top-level pages?

I want two menus on my pages - one along the top which links to the top level pages like About, Contact, Services etc. That's easy enough. I also want another menu down the left hand side which links to the sub pages under Services, but I can't find a way to do it. If you make the menu automatic it links to the top level pages. If you make it manual I can't find a way of adding the link to the sub pages I want. Any advice? I'm running the newest version of Muse on a MacBook Air.

I am afraid that there is no automated way to create a menu for the sub pages. You will need to create a manual menu and then use the hyperlink drop down to link the manual menu items to the pages. Select the menu item and click on the hyperlink drop down and choose the page.

How do I add a "return to top of page" button/link for long pages?

I've created several long pages within a web site. Is there a button or link that can be used, created, and placed in the middle and/or at the bottom of the pages that will return you to the "top of page" without having to scroll all the way back up? If there is one in iWeb, or if this has been discussed before, I can't find it. Thanks.

easiest way would be to have link "Link to: one of my pages" and link to the page itself.
To me doing this the page doesn't have to completely reload (thus there is no transition displaying a an empty page).
Another way would be using Anchors which is a bit more complicated... Usually they are used to go down to a certain point of a page but it works the other way around too...

Adding !Doctype at top of page in login page of portal

Hi Experts,
I need guidance on how we can put <!doctype> tag on top of page ie before <HTML> tag.
I have a requirement to build custom logon screens which i have build but when i put it in sap , it opens in Quirks mode in IE9 .
I have seen that when i changed its mode to standard mode 9 then it looks perfect, also it works properly in Chrome and mozilla browsers,
I have refer some SCN links which says to create java api to add <!doctype> , if we can follow the same then let me know it step by step as i am not that good in java.

This is not supported currently. See my answer in Re: doctype tag for external facing portal logon application (NWP 7.3) and also the referred SAP-Note.
@Andrew: The question was about the login page, and this has not yet a portal desktop!
Anyhow, even if Dani Cohens explanation made sense at that point in time, meanwhile http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1713259 could be a good reason to change this. I would suggest to open an OSS message and ask for clarification, as with note 1713259 there is the possibility that also a HTML5 login page could be rendered successfully within a HTML5 portal.
It should be the responsibility of the customer (and this can be stretched in the note about the HTML5 support for the login page) that if he uses an HTML5 login page for the portal that in this case the portal itself should be completely HTML5, too, as otherwise a login page within the portal might lead to issues.

Not having ALL the sub links appearing on top of page? Please help...

Is there any way to set up a "main" page for the photo gallery on iWeb, and have that particular page link to various sub pages, without having all the sub galleries appear in the link section at the top of the page?
To be more clear, I am a graphic designer and when I am in "Design" and you click on "Identities" it takes you to a new page with a logo, then you click next, see the next one...ect...but all these sub pages appear.... I just want "Design" to be up there, not all the sub pages.

Welcome to the discussions. In iWeb, display the page you don't want to be displayed in the navigation menu, and in the Inspector > Page tab, uncheck "Include page in navigation menu". (Repeat that for each page you don't want to be displayed in the navigation menu.) Here's a _video tutorial_.

The background photo is on top of the links. Select it and move it to the back or add the background image via the Inspector/Page/Layout pane in the Page Background section.

Opening any link causes location in current page to jump back to top of page.

I have FF set to open all new windows in a new tab which was the default setting. Whenever I open a link, the new link will open in another tab, but on my current page/tab I will be transported back to the top of my current page/tab. You can imagine how annoying this is especially on long pages. Does anyone have a solution for this? One thing I have tried is highlighting some text near the link I am about to open and sometimes this will prevent the page from moving back to the top when I open the link, but not always. Thanks for looking, (FF 3.6.18 on linux)

Thank you Cor-el! That did the trick, but I'm not sure why.
Just FYI I restarted in safemode, and chose to continue without selecting any of the options just as you said. I tried clicking on links further down in the page, and the page DIDN'T jump back to the top! I checked to make sure the default theme was selected which it already was.
When I restarted Firefox in normal mode, it continued to do the right thing and did not jump to the top for each link open. I have no idea why your solution worked, maybe it reset something? anyways, thank you again, wonderful help!

We can place a pagebreak before the Heading or Sub-Heading manually prior to or even after creating a Table of Contents. So that the Heading or Sub-Heading is placed always on top of a page.
To create a Table of Contents:
Under Format panel, define paragraph text as Title, Subtitle, Heading, Heading2 ..... and so on for displaying in TOC.
After completion of document writing, place cursor where a TOC is to be displayed.
Insert > Table of Contents > Document
A table of contents generates automatically.

Adding ana archive page with a link in the Navigation bar

I am really new to all this so don't think that I'm a 'tard. I am building a blog on '06 and I like most of what I can do, but I can't figure out a couple of things. My current blog is with Godaddy (pronounced blow-daddy) and with that blog I have archives, recent entries and a calendar. Is there any way that I can duplicate that here? If not, how about just adding a blank page that I use for archives. I know that I already have one but I can't seem to make it visible in the navigation bar. Any help?

No, you have to have a page for it to show up in navbar.
The work around is to use refresh tag to redirect to your email address, here is how:

3) editing Front page: search for href="Contact.html" change to target="_blank" href="Contact.html"
4) copy contents of index.html
5) editing Contact page: replace contents of Contact the contents of index.html
6) search for http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url= some page.html" change it to http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=mailto:[email protected]"
7) add the following to the end of Contact.html

Move page links from the top?

Hi,
I've just designed a new website with multiple pages using the "Modern" theme. The page links are listed along the top but I'd like to move them to the right side if possible as there are quite a few.
Any help would be appreciated,

Move Pages Links from Top Header to Far Left on Webpage Layout...??

Is there a way to make the links to your other pages show up on the left hand side of the webpage instead of at the very top?
All the templates have the links at the very top, and when I try to move it on a blank page, it still stays above the text.
I would like to have the text be able to run all the way to the top with the links to the left.

You can do it by making your own text based nabvar like here: Text Based Navbar. At the bottom of that page shows how to take the iWeb navbar and make it vertical. However, I you add anything to the top of the page it will be in the header. Since I didn't actually publish the page I don't know how or if it will work after publishing. However the video shows how the built in navbar can be made vertical depending on how long each page link is.
