Adding Two Addresses From One Record in an Address Book Group

I have a Group in Address Book to which I send a weekly newsletter.  People here in the community were kind enough to tell me how to edit the group and choose which email -- some want their "home" email, others prefer I use "work" -- from individual records I use.
Now ...
One of the recipients would like me to send to both his home and his work email.
When I right click on the group and go into "Edit Distribution List ..." I see the record and the various emails for each person with the bold email address being the one Mail picks up.  But it seems I can only choose one email per record.
Any ideas how to get my Group to house (and let me email to) both the work and the home emails for the same person?
I'm using Address Book 5.0.3 (883) and Mail 4.5 (1084) with OS X 10.6.8
Thanks

Rather than dragging the card in from the Address Book, start typing the person's name. Mail will give you a pop-up menu on choices. Pick one. Then repeat and pick the other. This is less convenient if you want to put someone in a group and send to both addresses in the group... in that case, V.K.'s solution is the best you'll do.

  • Is it possible to have two address books on one computer?

    I would like to create two address books on my computer.  One for my wife and one for me.  Therefore we can each sync our iphones to address books.

    You can do that by have two separate user accounts on the computer - one for you and one for your wife. This also lets you each have separate Apple IDs so that your iPhone data are separately synced.
    Using More than One iDevice on the Same Computer
    This applies mainly to couples who are adding another device and do not want their email, messages, etc. being duplicated on both devices. To begin read: How to use multiple iPhone, iPad, or iPod devices with one computer. You need to establish a separate Apple ID and password for whomever will use the new iDevice. See Apple - My Apple ID and Frequently asked questions about Apple ID. The easiest way is to do this on the computer using iTunes: iTunes- How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes.
    On the computer create a new user account for the person with the new iDevice. This will be the user account that person will always use. He/She will no longer use the other user account. This way that person will have a separate iTunes Library
    Start by transferring the new device(s) to a new account along with all your data.  Save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless they are already in the camera roll) by opening your Photos app, tap on Albums icon at the bottom. Now, tap on My Photo Stream album; tap Select; tap on the photos you want to select;, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow) in the lower left corner; then tap Save to Camera Roll.
    If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep then you need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself. Later you can copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.
    Tap on Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the person keeping the current account will not be affected,) provide the password to turn off Find My Phone and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Sign in with a different Apple ID to create your new account. Choose Merge to upload your data.
    Once you are on separate accounts, you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account.

  • Call two programs from one program.

    HI all,
    I have two BDC interface in seperate programs.
    I want to call that two programs from one program based on a condition.
    Is there any way.
    I tried with call transaction 'SE38'.
    set parameter ID but it is taking buffered value.
    Thanks,

    use submit program to call other program.
    SUBMIT prog|(field) [AND RETURN] [options].
    also if you want BDC prog, then probably you can call the BDC recording using PERFORM bdc_prog (in program name).
    PERFORM (<fsubr>)[IN PROGRAM (<fprog>)][USING   ... <pi>... ]
                                           [CHANGING... <pi>... ]

  • Booting two Macs from one external drive: 10.8 and App Store?

    I boot two Macs from one external harddrive. Does this mean that when 10.8 is sold exclusively via the App Store and thereby linked to a unique hardware identifier, I am going to have issues with activation/authentification each time I switch machines? I have avoided the App Store since I discovered that an app I bought there, and which I really needed to open automatically on log-in, had to be manually re-activated with my Apple ID after every switch (so that I eventually deleted it and reverted to an earlier, non-App Store version).

    Welcome to the forum!
      There are a couple of "solutions" to your problem.  The easiest, and possibly the best for you (although it is a bit slower) is to copy your catalog onto the external drive as well.
    Then when you plug in the drive, you will always have your latest catalog for access.
    The other way is to keep a local copy of your catalog, and copy it onto the local drive as a way to transfer it from one computer to the other.
    This has the problem of possibly not being in sync, that is, you forgot to copy it over once and did some editing.  Then you would end up with essentually two different catalogs, instead of one in two places.
      You can copy the catalog either with your OS, or you can "export as catalog" and specify the external drive as the destination.  Then, on your other computer, "import from catalog" and only take the meta-data settings (it's on the import dialog box).
    Personally, when I'm traveling, I have my catalog on my external drive as well.  It just makes life easier, and I don't have to worry about it being out of sync, or losing it (and not the images).
    So, I would go with the first method, at least to start.  To get your catalog over there, you can either export as catalog or copy it, either one will work.
    You can find the location of your catalog file (if you don't know where it is) in the catalog settings menu prompt.  Both the location and the name will be displayed.
    Cheers!

  • HT1347 How do I run two libraries from one computer?

    How do I run two libraries from one computer? One library is on the computer's hard drive, the second library is on an external hard drive. The computer that had the external hard drive crashed and I need to fix the iTunes library on it. How can I do this without corrupting the library on my internal hard drive?

    Launch iTunes with the Shift key held down and either create a new library or choose the one on the external drive. Any rented movies downloaded from another computer won't play.

  • My iPhone just loaded 1600  emails dating back over two years from one of my accounts. Is there a way to "mark all as read"?

    My iPhone just loaded 1600  emails dating back over two years from one of my accounts. Is there a way to "mark all as read"?

    Your Comcast accounts are POP (unless you enrolled in the Comcat Beta test of Imap) so they won't sync at all. Either enroll in the Beta test or don't use Comcast.
    Your iCloud account is Imap and should sync just fine, unless you have set it up incorrectly.

      rec1 rec;
      rec2 rec;
      rec3 rec;
    begin
      rec1.no := 1;
      rec1.name := 'karthick';
      dbms_output.put_line(rec1.no||'/'||rec1.name);
      --Now just assign rec1 to the rec2 by element
      rec2.no := rec1.no;
      rec2.name := rec1.name;
      dbms_output.put_line(rec2.no||'/'||rec2.name);
      --Now just asign directly
      rec3 := rec2;
      dbms_output.put_line(rec3.no||'/'||rec3.name);

  • Can you have two address books on one icloud account?

    My wife and I want separate contact lists.  Is there any way to do this with 1 ICloud account?
    Thanks,

    No, you need separate iCloud accounts. If you want to maintain separate Address Books you and your wife should have separate user accounts on your Mac anyway.
    You can setup separate Address Book groups within a Address Book in a single Mac user account.

  • Can I have two Address Books?

    I have used a distribution list in Outlook for years to send a email to about 125 members of a professional organization.  Now both MSN and Gmail say that I can't send this number of emails, as it might be SPAM.
    So, I'm trying to get away from Outlook since I use Apple Mail now.  I plan to import this list into a group in my Address Book but hate to have to manage these contacts along with all my other contacts.
    Is there a way to have two contact lists, or two Address Books?  I know the problem will probably still be there and I'll have to break the list down into several smaller groups to make this work (thanks SPAMMers!).  But I don't trust Outlook since I've installed in on my MBP and want to do this group email using Mail.
    Importing the list will take some careful planning of the text file to import from.  Too bad you can't import from an Excel spreadsheet.
    I know there are multiple subjects here.  Any suggestions??

    Thanks for the responses to this query.  I was afraid that only one Address Book was allowed per user.
    Guess I have no good option other than to put these contact into my Address Book and put them in a group.  Probably will need to put them into several groups as it looks like most of the email programs now will not allow sending email to groups as large as this one (close to 150 contact names).
    Seems like there should be a way to get around this restriction, but no being able to find help from these email groups, makes it difficult.  There was a time when you could contact support people at msn.com or at some of the other commercial email providers.  Not today.
    I'll do a CVS import as suggested and go from there.

  • Add contact from Mail directly to Address Book group?

    I am aware of adding a contact to Address Book by Control-clicking the email address, however I would like to add an address directly from Mail to an Address Book group. How is this done?

    You first need to open the message(s) that have the addresses you want to add to Address Book, then select the Add Addresses… script from the Mail Scripts folder listed in the Scripts icon in the menu bar (you can activate this by launching the AppleScript Utility.app program in HD/Applications/AppleScript and check the box labelled "Show Script Menu in menu bar" if it isn't already there).
    The script will launch and gather the information it needs about those messages, including the To: and From addresses and present them to you in a window; you need only check which ones you want to add and select the group you want them to go to from the drop-down menu it has and click Add or Okay, or whatever it has listed there to execute the script.
    Rinse and repeat for each different group of messages you want to add to a specific group.

  • Can two Address Books exist on my iMac

    I use my iMac for keeping tabs on a list of recuring events throughout the years as well as over the years.  The events generally follow in particular months each year and have new attendees as well as returning participants from previously held events who continue to attend the events.
    I have kept records in Word for Mac, on Pages & Numbers, but nothing works best like Address Book.  I have several hundred participants that I would like to reorganize into a central location and find that Address Book might be best suited for the task.  The problem is that I would like to keep separate these names and dates from my personal/business Address Book if at all possible.
    My question is, "Can two Address Books exist on the iMac, each with its own intended purpose?  Namely, Address Book 1 (Personal) and Address Book 2 (Events)?
    Any ideas would be welcome.
    Regards,

    Two ways to go about this.  You can create Addressbook groups, or you can make a second user account within your Mac just to manage the second addressbook.  The advantage of the former, you can selectively search between two separate groups of addresses.    The advantage of the second obviously is totally separate operation.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2486 - explains the Smart Groups feature of Addressbook
    Apple menu -> System preferences -> Users and Groups helps you setup multiple accounts. Fast user switching allows you to use a menubar switch to go between two different users.

  • Two address books and calendars?

    My employer gave me a Blackberry Curve 8310.  It is set up to sync email (wireless) with my employer's email server which is Lotus Notes.
    My personal address book and calander are on MS Outlook, which I used to sync hardwire with my personal desktop.
    Can I use two address books and calendars on the Curve 8310, one Lotus Notes for professional items and one MS based for personal items?
    TIA.  I hope this wasn't too elementary.

  • Two address books

    Anybody know if it's possible to sync only certain address book groups - or - run two address books?
    I've got contacts I need everyday, which I need to sync with MobileMe and my iPhone.
    I've also got hundreds of contacts I would like to keep separately, so they don't sync and fill up my iPhone.
    So, unless there is a way of not syncing a group within my main address book, can I run a second address book.
    Suggestions gratefully received!

    On the Info panel when you sync in iTunes, you can select the Address Book groups you sync.
    I don't use mobile me, so I don't know how it is set up. You may be able to do something similar.
    And, there's not a simple way to keep two address books for the same user.

  • Question: why mail does not recognize an address book  group

    i could not find an address book forum - excuse me if i post here.
    an address book group with about 20 names has worked well for a year.
    today i added and deleted a few names. now mail does not recognize the name as an email group.
    i created a new group with a new name and imported all the names in one block from the non working group. the new group also is not recognized as having email addesses in mail.
    my other groups seem to work fine.
    i had entourage for awhile and had to rebuild it periodically. do i need to do something similar here.
    thanks

    Check the names of your groups that you have this issue with to make sure you don't have any special characters or extra spaces at the beginning or end of the group name.
    I just found another posting on the message boards that solved my issues. Someone discovered that they had a blank space in their group name which was causing the error. I didn't have any extra spaces at th end of the group name, but I did have a period in my group name (St. Francis). I removed the period from the group name in address book and now the emails send to that group without the error message.
