Adding user challenge questions.

I have been successful in reading and changing questions and answers programmatically but have not been able to add new user questions. (I have been able to add them through IDM online interface.)
Does anyone know how to add new user challenge questions?

I am curious at what point your doing this? I have a set of challenge questions and answers in an LDAP that I would like to use to populate the fields inside of iDM. This way, I could utilze the iDM screens/logic when a user forgets their password. I would also need to keep these fields updated in iDM as they could change in the LDAP. Any suggestions?

OIM Localization for Challenge Question Problem

Hi...
I'm trying to provide localization for User Challenge Questions. I've followed instructions here:

But when user log in from OIM Administrative and User Console, challenge question still appear in English. I've modified language option for this user (FR, DE, NL) and still no luck. Do I miss something here?
Anyway, below are the step I've done:
- add custom challenge questions from OIM Design console
- modify properties file in $OIM_HOME/xellerate/customResources/
- restart OIM

How to redirect user from login page to "Set Challenge question" page

How to redirect user from login page to "Set Challenge question" page (NOT custom page) after 3 un successful password attempts?
Meaning when user types wrong password 3 times they will be redirected to set Challenge question page. If user answers the challenge question then password reset page should be appeared other wise (after remaining 3 un successeful challenge question answers) account should be locked out.

Thanks for your answer. Let me ellaborate more on the requirement here.
- Password Policy and Lost Password management are set up in the identity system
- Configure login tries allowed= 5. Verify accout is lock out after 5 unsucessful login.
This is what need to achieve.
1) If a user attempts to login 3(not 5) times using an incorrect login credential he/she should be redirected to set challenge question (security question) page.
2) Then if the user attempts (remaining) 2 times incorrect challenge answer then his/her account should be locked out.
3) If he/she answers the challenge answer correctly then he/she should be redirected to password reset page.
Is this possible?

Allow users to create Challenge Questions in OAAM

I have OAAM 11.1.1.5 BP01 implemented and integrated with OIM and OAM 11.1.1.5.2.
I want to know if a user can be provided with the functionality to create his own challenge questions instead of selecting the OOTB ones.
If yes, what would be the implementation steps to achieve this?

AFAIK, no. You can definitely customize the existing challenge question set to add/edit/remove any number of questions from the OOTB defaults per your client/organization's requirements... but on an individual user level, there is no functionality to custom define their own unique question/answer set.

Forgot password for users for whom challenge questions are not set

Hi,
I have a scenario here where initially the environment property for force setting challenge questions during first login was not set to true.
But it has been set to true later. But for users created prior setting this property to true, the forgot password link is taking to a page to answer challenge questions which obviously is not working.
Is there anyway to handle this scenario without doing ADF customization? For example say, to force all previous users also to set challenge questions for whom the challenge questions are not set.

Hi, In your scenario, since user has forgotten his/her password and he has not set his answers to questions, so the only option left is calling Help Desk. Help desk guys should educate end users that go to OIM->My Information -> Set Security Questions. This is the only easy way I can think of.

OIM 11g R2 PS1 - custom challenge question by user

Hello.. we have a requirement to let end user create their own challenge question? OOTB I don't see any option to let users enter thier own password challenge question during the time of challenge question registration.
While I was going through the OIM documentation I came across this property PCQ.USE_DEF_QUES for which the documentations says:

For customers who have customized their UI to allow end-users to set their own challenge questions, this property determines whether the user must select challenge questions from a predefined list in the Web Application, or if users are required to provide their own questions.

Any ideas or suggestions on how or where to do the customization for this requirement?

Check the for duplicacy in OBJ_KEY column of the process defination. If duplicate values exit then set them to 'null' and commit. Restart OIM if required

Problem while setting custom Challenge Questions in 11gR2

I am trying to add some custom Challenge Questions in 11gr2 but it is throwing error . For this first i added questions in Look up and then in customResources_en.properties and then i restarted OIM server.
when a user is logging for the first time he has to set his challenge question there i am getting error like:

I have added the new questions to lookup 'Lookup.WebCLient.Questions' and to the adfCommonModel BUndles but it is throwing errors when I access the User Information page.

Basically you need to locate the resource-bundle file in this WAR (ear) file:
OIM_HOME/server/apps/oracle.iam.ui.model.ear
(unpack it, add your custom questions, and then re-deploy the WAR)

Is there some way I can prevent users from putting in the same answer for all the challenge questions?
For example OOTB you can say sam, sam and sam for all 3 challenge questions.

Yes, you can easily add additional questions to the Lookup.WebClient.Questions Lookup to allow some additional choices. We have added quite a few additional choices, we have noticed that removing them once people have selected them causes some errors.
You can also customize the required number of questions to select when each user sets them up as well as the number required to be correct to reset the password, these options are in the System Configuration settings.
If you need multi-language versions of the questions, you will also need to modify the appropriate language resource file in the xlWebApp.war file to provide the necessary translations for the values entered into the Lookup.

OIM.. challenge questions one at a time

I have a requirement in OIM wherein when a user logs, the challenge questions needs to be posted one a time, rather than all the questions. I could not find any hint from system properties or in tables of OIM. Wanted to know if this do-able and if yes, what parameters need to be set?

Another user had success doing the following:
I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone. It is kind of round about way to get in.
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
a. on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" >
      tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
b. Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select
      "done", in the upper right corner
c. sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the
      Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you
      should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the
      security questions.
d. At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and
      selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You
      should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security
      questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

URGENT : Challenge questions query: Oracle Access Manager 10g

Hi all,
This is a query regarding password challenge questions in Oracle Access Manager 10g. We have created password policies for a specific container in OID (say cn=xxx,cn=users,dc=oracle,dc=com) and it is working fine.
In order to exclude certain set of users (say user ABC ) for password policies, we have set the obpasswordchangeflag to false for those users which are in same container for which password policy is created.
When we try to login to the application with the user say ABC, I am not seeing any reset password page - I am happy till this point. However it is showing Configure Challenge questions page. Is there any way to bypass this page? Or is this the expected behavior?
This is very urgent and prompt reply is very much appreciated.

This is expected behaviour. In order to exclude the password policy management for some certains user for particular domain/container. please add the below configuration parameter to your OAM10g password policy.
Password Policy Filter Field (!(|(cn=xxx)(cn=abc)))
