Adding Vertical Lines in Footer

How do I add vertical lines using Dreamweaver CS4 in my footer to divide up the various links..(as in the very bottom of this page where the various links are divided by small vertical lines)??

Use CSS to give the right side of the <a> tag a 1px border. Or use a PIPE symbol "|" on the keyboard (above the backslash).

  • Adding vertical lines at x= ?

    Hello everyone.
I am using labview 8.6 and i have a small problem:
I need to add two vertical lines at x = ?
x1 and x2 will be controlled by numeric control. So i can be able to move the lines left and right ( both of them).
The problem is i already have xy graph with 2 functions going in.

In that case, there's a more clever way to visually display area under curves: introduce a new curve that traces exactly one of the two existing curves over the x bounds you want, and have it fill up/down to the other curve. Since this is part of an academic lab, it will be a good exercise to scour the forums and find the method to accomplish this. Good luck!

  • When I was typing an email on my iPad, I hit something (???) on the screen which made the paragraph turn blue with a vertical line  being added  down the left hand boundary  of the paragraph ! How do I get it to revert to being black type with no line ?

When I was typing an email on my iPad, I hit some part of the screen (not sure which part !)which made the type in the paragraph I was writing turn blue, and a vertical line appeared down the left hand boundary of the paragraph ! How do I get rid of the blue type and blue vertical line ?

A single tap of the blue does nothing ! A double tap offers copy, define, select all.

  • My Imac has black and white vertical lines

    Riddle me this Apple...
A few months ago, my 2008 Aluminium 24inch Imac locked up and exhibited space invader style pixels all over the screen.
After rebooting, it was fine for a while and then it would freeze again and I'd get the same Atari style pixels appearing, and everything would be frozen.
Then, most reboots after that, I would get vertical lines in groups of three, alternating black and white squares as in the photo.
I called Apple here in South Australia, and they said "it's your graphics card, and it will cost $400 to fix and we need it for a week".
Not wanting to do that, I bought a $15 firewire cable, booted the Imac in T mode and used my PC laptop running macdrivepro to save all my files onto a 500gig backup drive, and then proceeded to fix the corrupted kext files and most importantly delete the recent flash player update which I believe was causing the problem.
Booted her back up, and she ran perfectly. For a few weeks, until it started again.
So I re-installed the Leopard operating system from the original disks, and that fixed it. $15 is better than $400.
Now, a few months have passed, and the problem had come back again, now that I have added more stuff on my computer.
This time however, I chose to wipe the drive completely and do a fresh install of Leopard, and then upgrade to Snow Leopard.
The problem is that it won't boot from the CD drive anymore, won't boot from a thumb drive, won't boot in any mode except T mode, but then it has these lines on the screen again and eventually I get the kernel panic happenning and it wants to be shut down.
Every time I start the computer, these lines IMMEDIATELY appear. I've tried resetting the Pram, tried changing memory and have now resorted to surgery.
I've taken apart the Imac, yes I hear you Apple...you guys thought that we mortals wouldn't delve into the depths of your finely machined systems, however, some of us do own micro torx head tools to remove those pesky screws, and yes, a razor blade does lift up the magnetically attached screen glass without having to use suction pads.
So once inside the temple of doom, I removed the hard drive, and dropped it into a hard drive dock.
After days of messing around with it via four other MAC computers, running Tiger, Leopard and Lion, we have still not been able to install an operating system back onto this drive.
Does anyone have any insight into what these lines actually are? Every one I speak to says a different thing...
"It's the graphics card", "It's the hard drive", "It's the cable that connects the LCD screen", "It's the motherboard", It's the screen itself", "It's a corrupted bios" etc etc..
But if it's any of those things...then why did it run perfectly after I fixed it the first time?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi BDAqua,
I appreciate you taking the time to reply, and for the suggestions.
My spider sense was tingling, as were my eager fingers to login and read your reply, in fact I was almost salivating at the thought of crushing those Apple reps with a swift blow from one of my megalithic old 4gig internal drives, or better still, perhaps shooting my old DX266 sporting a massive 256k HD and 4mb of ram, fully loaded with Encarta and Windows 3.11 out of a cannon and straight into Steve Jobs bedroom window, with a note saying..."How'd ya like them apples..".
But alas, my Aquatic friend, I am in need of a functioning operating system to be able to do any of those magical tricks you suggested (insert frown face here)..and yes, when I finally opened up the Imac and peered inside, a moment not unlike Indiana Jones peering down into the depths of the Well of Souls, I suddenly realised that an Imac might look impervious to heat vision and thermonuclear devices on the outside, but inside they can still gather as much dust as my infinately useless ZIP drive that I bought back in the late 90's, thinking it was the best thing since the invention of microsoft paint...awesome program by the way guys..
Getting back to the problem at hand, the issue really is that I have, perhaps stupedly, reformatted the 500gig WD drive via a hard drive dock, which is really a lot like one of those early 1950's cassette drives you find in vintage cars..
And upon returning the drive to the Imac and re-assembling it WITH REAL SCREWS, not titanium-alloy fingerprint encoded ones like you would expect to find in Iron Man's suit, I could only boot the poor thing into T mode. No other modes were available, and believe me, I tried all of the alphabet...even the "C" button, which if you ever watched an episode of Knight Rider called Knight of the Juggernaught, did not turn my computer into a convertable..
By now you're probably sensing that the irony of all of this is that I am typing this message on my Windows 7 upgraded HP laptop, which sounds not unlike a jumbo jet taking off at times, the fans are so loud, and among other things, it keeps telling me it is not genuine, even though I paid good money for a proper copy to free me from the painful experience which was Vista, and so in a sense, microsoft is playing a small part in the desperate rescue of it's far superior, yet broken down and busted arch enemy...I bet somewhere in it's RAM, it is smiling in little ones and zeroes, while it hides behind a free copy of AVAST, hoping one of a billion nasty viruses don't come knocking on the kernel door..
The next round of drinks goes to the man, woman, child or droid that has any other suggestions that could allow me to participate in some of the ideas put forward by our very knowledgable watery friend..as alas, I do not have any of those options available to me.
Today's assignment is.. how do we install an operating system on a formatted external drive. Sounds easy doesn't it...I've read many articles, but in practice it's proved as elusive as Bigfoot.
I just cannot make this hard drive understand that there is no spoon...

  • When i open my computer I get the white screen with apple symbol and there are vertical lines all over the screen with green pixels and after a few minutes the screen gets grey and I get message to restart my computer what happens

3 years ago I bought an IMac Desktop that I am using for a lot of things but the most important for dvd montage in Imovies and Idvd.
Now today when I opened my computer I get as usual the white screen with the Apple symbol but there were all over the screen vertical lines with green pixels and after a while the screen gets grey and I get message to restart my computer using the power button or the restart button and when I do so each time the same is happening somebody can tell me what is happening and what caused this. This computer is my work and now I have no income anymore.
On the Apple support site they are asking to enter the serial number and when I do so I get message it is wrong but it is the only one I have and I buy this computer in Cairo Egypt. I am living in Hurghada in Egypt for the moment. When I call the technical support of the shop where I buy it they are telling me that it is the hard disk or ram and that I probably lost everything on it and they are asking a big amount to repair.
Can somebody advise me on this matter. Thanks in advance

You can find the serial number either in About this Mc in the Menu bar under the , or it should be on a sticker under the foot of the machine.
If you have the install discs, try booting from them, holding down the c key and then using Disk Utility to check the drive.
You can also boot into Safe mode
To start up into Safe Mode (to "Safe Boot"), do this:
       1. Be sure the computer is shut down.
       2. Press the power button.
       3. Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift key.
Tip: The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone but not before.
       4. Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple and progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.2 through 10.3.9, you will see "Safe Boot" on the Mac OS X startup screen.
During the startup in Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you will see "Safe Boot" on the login window, which appears even if you normally log in automatically.
    Please post back with results,
To leave Safe Mode in any version of Mac OS X, restart the computer normally, without holding any keys during startup.

    I want to upload.
When i tried to upload the file with the same in internal table it gives me like this :

         J               |             1
how do i resolve this problem???
    any sample code??

    ok.
i hv added new code that it can be converted into internal table format. ie. it will show with header line.

  • After updating to v. 6.X.X, vertical lines appear around the cursor when typing in webpages such as Gmail and Facebook that persist, obscuring text and other pixels in the webpage. Didn't happen before this update.

I noticed after updating to Firefox version 6.0.1 that vertical lines the same size and shape as the text cursor remain behind on the screen as the cursor moves (either while typing or by using arrow keys). This is most obvious and annoying in text-heavy applications such as when typing in Gmail, Facebook, and work webmail, for instance. (Interestingly, it's not happening now as I type this.)
This is very annoying because these lines obscure parts or even entire letters in words that have been typed. I thought that it might have been a Firefox customized 'skin' I added at the same time as updating, but I reverted to the default view and the problem remains.

  • Matrix report vertical line problem

    Development tool:
    Report Builder 11.1.2.2.0 (64-bit) on Windows 7
Solaris app server with the following software versions:
Oracle Forms and Reports 11g 11.1.2.2.0
    FMW is 11.1.1.7
    WLS is 10.3.6.0.8
This is a report with a matrix.  The rows across have multiple fields and some of those fields may wrap depending on the amount of data in an individual field.  The matrix portion contains a single data item that does not wrap (basically just a single word status with some conditionally color formatting).  I have added a vertical line to the matrix item so there will be grid lines between each column.  All the frames are set to vertical-expand and horizontal-fixed.  I have also tried setting all the frames to vertical-variable and horizontal-fixed.  The problem is the vertical line does not expand when the data items in the across row cause a wrap and expand the height of the row vertically.  I've tried setting the vertical line to stretch with the same frame that encloses the across rows.  When I do this the vertical line disappears.  As soon as I set any value in stretch with frame the line stops showing.  I've tried all the combinations I can think of for printing on first, last, all and base printing on anchoring or enclosing and nothing works.  The line will only show if I leave the stretch with frame as null but it looks terrible when it is the height of one row but the actually row of data across may be a larger size due to field wrapping.
    Any suggestions?

You will need to include an additional column of your date column to your SQL statement.
e.g Your original column - to_char(your_date_column,'Month') "Months Name".
Add a new column - to_char(your_date_column,'MM') "Sort Column".
In the Matrix Row, include this new column field also. In the Data Model, move this new column field to the top. Remove the Break Order property to NONE for your original date field (Months Name).

  • Changes in Vertical Lines Across Hidden Sections

I have quite a few reports designed in CR 8.5 primarily by someone else but modified by me over the years.  The original programmer created two page footers.  PFa is to print when there are multiple pages except on the last page (set to underlay sections), and PFb to print only on the last page or first page if there is only one page.  The report in this example is an invoice that could be multiple pages or one page.  PFa will show Continued.... as part of the footer on all but the last page.  The last page will show the total.
The original design has vertical lines extending from the page header to a horizontal line in PFb.  For a one-page report, this works just fine.
When printing multiple page reports, there is a little section that does not have a line in PFa.  So it has been filled in with a second line over the previous line and it extends from the top of PFa to the horizontal line in that section.  This also works fine in CR8.5.  This worked fine in CR XIR2 as well.
I am creating a new viewer that I would like to support current versions of Crystal.  So recently I installed the CR for VS ver 9.  Now my CRXIR2 and CR2011 standalone programs show lines extending to the bottom of the page over PFa on a multipage invoice.  PFb shows properly on the last page.
I am pretty sure when I was using CR for VS version 4 it did not do this (last week), but I cannot remember if I had tested a multipage invoice at that time.  Now that I have upgraded it appears the handling of the lines is different.  I am testing the reports and they are all showing up differently now.  The image attached shows the idea.  The vertical lines should stop at the top horizontal line except for the one on the right which should stop at the bottom horizontal line.
I know there are other and probably better ways to program this but I inherited this stuff and am trying to find a way to not edit all the possible reports that have this problem (could be hundreds).  Does anyone know if this is an intended design change or if there is a workaround I can use?  My viewer is being programming in VB 2010 but the image attached is just from CR 2011 (CRXIR2 does the same thing now).  The second image attached is the original from CR8.5 which still works because I assume, it is using a different print engine before the change in CR version 9.
Any help is appreciated.  TIA, rasinc

    Hi Jamie,
Sorry for the delayed response but I have been out of the office since Wed.
Are you saying that I just need to change the programming of the lines in the CR designer?  If so, I had already done that in the same manner as you had suggested before.  eg. don't let the lines cross a section.  Terminate the line at the first section (pfa), then fill it in after, in the lower section (pfb).
If that is what you meant, I have done that with one to prove it is a solution.  This will work for me directly, however, the viewer will be distributed to people who may or may not be buying the CR program.  For those who buy it, they can modify their forms as they please if it is a problem for them.
However, there will be many people continuing to use the CR 8.5 forms in this newer viewer.  These people may have to have this problem fixed and may not know it can be redesigned.  So I am trying to be proactive to figure out if I can solve it with my programming but it looks like it is a difference as part of the CR viewer dlls between CR8.5 and CR2011.
If you think it is still something that can be adjusted in my programming somehow, I can give you a screenshot but I am thinking your thought was to change the line programming with the designer.  If so, I know how to do this, but I have never seen and do not have access to many rpts that will be affected.
Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it. rasinc

  • Can the position of a vertical line object be changed in run time

    Post Author: KennyG
    CA Forum: General
I added some vertical line objects into my report in design mode, but the position of them can't be determined until the run time. So I have to change the position dynamically, such as "  lineObject.Left = 200; ........" . But I'm confronted with an exception, System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException, and it says that " The line object's coordinates are not valid. Only vertical or horizontal lines are supported.". Finally, can the position of a vertical line object be changed in run time? if can, how to do it??
Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Making buttons move is my thing. Attached you will find VIs that make advanced use of the postion property.

just take over a project. The invoice is present using XML publisher. the template also called sub template for header and footer information. But there are vertical line between each column almost all the way from the header to the footer. I original though that must be the boarder from each column. but not really. I even delete all the column, or even the for-each@section... Still see the vertical liine. I won't see them at all in the template.

  • Hello need vertical  lines in the script

    Dear ABAP GURUS,
I need to draw verticle lines in the script as a tabel, i have drawn the horizontal lines. I heard that there is the the function module to draw the verticle lines but how is that possible to use in the script. Plwase help me out in drawing the vericle lines, i Have tried using the vline but no use.

    Hi Soni,
Its very easy to draw the vertical lines in a script.  Use BOX statement to draw the same.  Check out the syntax for BOX statement.  Give the 'Y' coordinate only and do not mention 'X' coordinate.  So that the box will appear as a vertical line.  Check it.
Boxes, Lines, Shading: BOX, POSITION, SIZE
The BOX, POSITION and SIZE commands for drawing boxes, lines and shadowing can be used for specifying that within a layout set particular windows or passages of text within a window are to be output in a frame or with shadowing.
The SAP printer drivers that are based on page-oriented printers (the HP LaserJet driver HPL2, the Postscript driver POST, the Kyocera Prescribe driver PRES) employ these commands when outputting. Line printers and page-oriented printers not supported in the standard ignore these commands. The resulting printer output may be viewed in the SAPscript print previewer.
    Syntax:
    1. /: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
    2. /: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    3. /: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
    BOX Command
    Syntax
/: BOX [XPOS] [YPOS] [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [FRAME] [INTENSITY]
Effect: draws a box of the specified size at the specified position.
Parameters: For each of XPOS, YPOS, WIDTH, HEIGHT and FRAME both a measurement and a unit of measurement must be specified. The INTENSITY parameter should be specified as a percentage between 0 and 100.
    1. XPOS, YPOS: Upper left corner of the box, relative to the values of the POSITION command.
Default: Values specified in the POSITION command.
The following calculation is performed internally to determine the absolute output position of a box on the page:
    X(abs) = XORIGIN + XPOS
    Y(abs) = YORIGIN + YPOS
    2. WIDTH: Width of the box. Default: WIDTH value of the SIZE command.
    3. HEIGHT: Height of the box. Default: HEIGHT value of the SIZE command.
    4. FRAME: Thickness of frame.
    Default: 0 (no frame).
    5. INTENSITY: Grayscale of box contents as % .
    Default: 100 (full black)
Measurements: Decimal numbers must be specified as literal values (like ABAP numeric constants) by being enclosed in inverted commas. The period should be used as the decimal point character. See also the examples listed below.
Units of measurement: The following units of measurement may be used:
    • TW (twip)
    • PT (point)
    • IN (inch)
    • MM (millimeter)
    • CM (centimeter)
    • LN (line)
    • CH (character).
    The following conversion factors apply:
    • 1 TW = 1/20 PT
    • 1 PT = 1/72 IN
    • 1 IN = 2.54 CM
    • 1 CM = 10 MM
    • 1 CH = height of a character relative to the CPI specification in the layout set header
    • 1 LN = height of a line relative to the LPI specification in the layout set header
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
Draws a frame around the current window with a frame thickness of 10 TW (= 0.5 PT).
    /: BOX INTENSITY 10
Fills the window background with shadowing having a gray scale of 10 %.
/: BOX HEIGHT 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a horizontal line across the complete top edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH 0 TW FRAME 10 TW
Draws a vertical line along the complete height of the left hand edge of the window.
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT 1 CM FRAME 10 TW INTENSITY 15
/: BOX WIDTH '17.5' CM HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '10.0' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
/: BOX XPOS '13.5' CM WIDTH 0 TW HEIGHT '13.5' CM FRAME 10 TW
Draws two rectangles and two lines to construct a table of three columns with a highlighted heading section.
    POSITION Command
    Syntax
/: POSITION [XORIGIN] [YORIGIN] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the origin for the coordinate system used by the XPOS and YPOS parameters of the BOX command. When a window is first started the POSITION value is set to refer to the upper left corner of the window (default setting).
Parameters: If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value, in other words as a value which specifies an offset from the upper left corner of the output page. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value. If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to this parameter.
    1. XORIGIN, YORIGIN: Origin of the coordinate system.
    2. WINDOW: Sets the values for the left and upper edges to be the same of those of the current window (default setting).
    3. PAGE: Sets the values for the left and upper edges to be the same of those of the current output page (XORIGIN = 0 cm, YORIGIN = 0 cm).
    /: POSITION WINDOW
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to the upper left corner of the window.
/: POSITION XORIGIN 2 CM YORIGIN '2.5 CM'
Sets the origin for the coordinate system to a point 2 cm from the left edge and 2.5 cm from the upper edge of the output page.
/: POSITION XORIGIN '-1.5' CM YORIGIN -1 CM
Shifts the origin for the coordinates 1.5 cm to the left and 1 cm up.
    SIZE Command
    Syntax
/: SIZE [WIDTH] [HEIGHT] [WINDOW] [PAGE]
Effect: Sets the values of the WIDTH and HEIGHT parameters used in the BOX command. When a window is first started the SIZE value is set to the same values as the window itself (default setting).
Parameters: If one of the parameter specifications is missing, then no change is made to the current value of this parameter. If a parameter value does not have a leading sign, then its value is interpreted as an absolute value. If a parameter value is specified with a leading sign, then the new value of the parameter is calculated relative to the old value.
    1. WIDTH, HEIGHT: Dimensions of the rectangle or line.
    2. WINDOW: Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current window (default setting).
    3. PAGE: Sets the values for the width and height to the values of the current output page.
    /: SIZE WINDOW
Sets WIDTH and HEIGHT to the current window dimensions.
/: SIZE WIDTH '3.5' CM HEIGHT '7.6' CM
Sets WIDTH to 3.5 cm and HEIGHT to 7.6 cm.
    /: POSITION WINDOW
/: POSITION XORIGIN -20 TW YORIGIN -20 TW
/: SIZE WIDTH +40 TW HEIGHT +40 TW
    /: BOX FRAME 10 TW
A frame is added to the current window. The edges of the frame extend beyond the edges of the window itself, so as to avoid obscuring the leading and trailing text characters.

  • IMac 10.4.11 Because permanent vertical lines have appeared on my screen, I need to get a new monitor. The adapter apple sells goes from female VGA to mini-DVI. What kind of cable should I get as well:female to male?

If I use an adapter (female VGA to mini-DVI) for my iMac 10.4.11 OSX, I also need a cable. Should that cable be female VGA to male VGA?
Permanent vertical lines have appeared on my display, and connecting to another display (monitor) requires a cable and adapter. I want to be sure I am purchasing the correct cable for the Apple adapter.

What made me think I need to format if I upgrade the OS?
    I just presumed so really.
What made me think I need to constantly format computer with my problem?
Well, after many attempts to repair the drive, which fails, cannot even reach the log in screen, I am left with no other choice?
And also, I have to note now, System Preferences keeps crashing without reason, it either takes ages to load, just by clicking it to open, or clicking something within it, or it just crashes.
And temporarily, it freezes the computer totally, with no response.
Seriously, am I missing a system file or something? Anyone experienced this problem before?
My computer is literally a blank computer right now, installed VLC and Shades, updated Adobe Flash Player, installed Skype and Adium. I would say Growl from Adium caused it, but it has happened prior to Skype and Adium. Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks,

  • [LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw] only vertical lines when scanning, scanner broken?

Hi all! I have a problem with the scanner in my HP all in one. If I scan (using the printer function or apples ImageCapture: same result) the output is just a lot of vertical stripes (in colors when in color mode). Not a trace of the image I try to scan. The lines are there even if i scan an empty white page. I see the stripes both when doing a preview scan and an actual scan. The problems are very similar regardless of if I use the flatbed or the feeder scanner (they are separate scanner hardware, yes?). I have updated to the latest software for the printer/scanner and I am connecting over bonjour via wireless. I am on Os X 10.9.1. Anybody having similar problems or is my scanner just plain broken? Thanks in advance!Jon

, , I understand that both of you are seeing vertical lines when scanning from your Laserjet M276nw. First, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Now, so I know where to begin I'd need to know the following:If you are seeing the vertical lines when you copy as well as scan? Are you seeing the vertical lines when you copy from the flatbed? The document feeder? both?If you are seeing the lines from both the flatbed and the feeder are they in the same place?Once I know this I'll be better able to assist you.
