Adding Video to Cp5.5 using embed code
Hi! I have a video I need to include in a Captivate Course, but I'm having a hard time converting it from .mov to .flv. The Adobe Media Encoder says it can't read the source. Is there any way I can use an embed code in Captivate 5.5 instead?
Thanks!
Thanks for the suggestion, Rod! It led me down a path where I finally found my answer. For some reason, the videos I was trying to convert wouldn't do so in the Flash converter that came with Captivate 5.5. I did stumble across the converter for Captivate 5 still on my computer, and using that converted most of the files. The few that still would not convert, I had to get from the video creator in Flash format.
Not a real solid answer, but at least I got what I needed!

How to use embed code to insert my flash video from web host whilst keeping my player buttons?
I have created a flash 8 video. It consists of the video.swf
video.flv and skin.swf
When i try to embed it into a remote webpage, the video
player buttons do not show.
How do i enable my webpage of flash video to show the player
controls on a remote webpage using an embed code?Reece,
> Basicly i just imported a .mov file into flash 8 and
chose
> the FVSS option were it does the rest its self.
If you chose FVSS, that means you're using a Flash Video
Streaming
Service and not just uploading video to your own server.
> So my skin.flv file currently has to be in the same
folder
> as my webpage which is currently not possible for me
> to do.
You can put the skin wherever you like. All that matters is
that you
correctly path to it from the point of view of the HTML page
that holds your
SWF (the SWF that holds the FLVPlayback instance that uses
this skin).
> I need it to allow my skin.flv file to be in the same
folder
> as my vido.swf and video.flv files.
You're uploading your video files to a Flash Video Streaming
Service,
which I haven't done personally, so I don't know what
requirements this
service places on you. Regardless, the location of the skin
SWF file makes
no difference. In the FLA that contains your FLVPlayback
instance, select
that instance and look at the Parameters tab of the Propery
inspector. In
the skin parameter, double click the cell to the right of
that and enter the
path to the skin SWF. It can be absolute (full domain name
and filepath) or
relative. If it's relative, pretend it's the HTML file
looking for that
skin, instead of this SWF file.

How do you embed ePub3 in a web page using 'embed code'?
I have an epub3 that i desperately need to embed onto my web page.
I am using Weebly who allow for embed code on the web page, and also have a code editor where you can upload files.
Is it easy enough to somehow upload the mp3's that are in my epub, and then explode the epub and simply copy and paste this html code into the embed code function from weebly?
This is what I have found so far, but I am no code expert!
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7419205/how-do-you-embed-an-epub-in-a-web-pageThat is an interesting question. Since epub3 is based on everything that a web page is made of and is often called a web page in a box, I doubt that current browsers can show the document. Browsers are only now catching up with showing an SVG image. I suppose that, if an epub3 reader is available on the client, it should theoretically be possible. Think of a Word or a PDF document.
IMHO, the best way out is to convert the book into a PDF format. -
Is there a way of inserting a video without having to embed code or publish to adobe.
Im trying to create websites with classes of year 9 - 10 students. I just want them to crewate a web page/site where they can insert short videos and animations that they have created as part of a portfolio of work.
I dont want to have to embed code from you tube as some students who may appear in the videos may not have the required media clearances etc.
I am looking for a widget maybe that I can insert the video into.
I am not sure about the uploading of videos to adobe when we publish.
I am just chasing something really simple and easy.
It sort of seems that it would actually be easier to create pages in dreamweaver?Hello,
Are you talking about inserting a local video file in Muse site. If yes then try the steps below:
1. Import Video to Asset tab
Go to File > Add Files to upload and select the file that you want to import. This will copy the file in asset tab in muse.
2. Insert HTML code :
a. Go to the page on which you want to place the video.
b. Go to Object > Insert HTML
c. Paste the code mentioned below and update the <filename> with your file name
<video width="320" height="240" controls>
<source src="asset/<Filename>.mp4" type="video/mp4">
</video>
Hope this will help you what you desire to achieve.

Undo Embed Code Sharepoint 2013
I was attempting to do an auto-refresh on my Sharepoint home page. I chose to use the embed code method, problem is now I need to edit the time in the code. How can I get to the embedded code to edit it? When viewing the page in a Internet Explorer and I
select to view source I can see the code. When I open up the Sharepoint home page in sharepoint designer I cant seem to find it. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
B BakerHi,
I had the similar issue with Embed Code / Script Editor WebPart. I was able to add code snippet using Embed Code. But I am not able to edit the webpart, actually i was not able to see the WebPart properties. I found the problem with IE 11. I tried viewing
my site / page with Compatible mode then i am able to see the Property window and able to edit. If this is the case with you, you can follow the simple steps below:
Press ALT + T when viewing your SharePoint page
Click Compatibility View Settings in the menu that appears
Click Add to add the current SharePoint site to your list of compatibility view pages
Click Close

Hi there, I am looking for a way to embed a vimeo.com Video into my C.V.
I copied the embed code on the vimeo site and pasted it into my InDesign document and added the "http:" in the HTML code. When I select the object and click on the Folio Overlay panel to Preview on Desktop I get the following Error:
"The page size aspect ratio must match the folio aspect ratio."
I triied resizing the frame of the pasted embed code to the page size of my PDF and resized the object itself within the frames to the page width afterwards but nothing stopped InDesign from givin me this error message.
I am using CS 6 and I cannot place the video file in the indesign document itself for pdf file size reasons as u might understand.
What am I doing wrong? Can I even use the DPS tools to embed a vimeo video to my A4 PDF at all? Is there a different way to embed the vimeo link? (I don't want to upload my video as an swf file on a server and link to it for several reasons, but if there is no other solution I will go for that.)
Please help!
JohnnyI am triing to create an interactive A4 PDF document. Which I then wanna send to companies as my job application via email. I want it to be an interactive pdf because there are hyperlinks on the first page and because of the vimeo link but I also want it to be A4 because it is the formal regulation for a job application in my country.

Recently, I noticed that when I attempt to "share" a YouTube video and click the share button, I get no embed codes. In fact I get no options at all. And, when I tried to share a YouTube playlist, again, nothing happens except an apparent text box opens that I cannot type or enter anything into. I use a Macbook Pro at work, with Firefox as my browser and everything works just as it should on YouTube. Since this is a quite recent problem with my Dell desktop (Firefox browser) at home, I suspect something has changed resulting in my current issue. Thanks for any help!

YouTube Content Creators have the ability to disable embedding if they wish to keep their videos on YouTube only. This is most likely what has occurred and is more than likely not an issue with Firefox itself.

Fixed Layout ePub - please help me embed video and/or use Folio overlay with web content
Hi
I have an In Design file used to create a print book (11"x11") and have decided to use CC 2014 to create a fixed-layout ePub 3 for a digital version. I converted the book over with minor issues of having to change the font and it looks beautiful.
I would like to add videos at the end of the book to take advantage of the flexibility of the digital format. I create a year-end slideshow of my photos and host them on Vimeo.
I have tried the following:
Using the Vimeo standard embed code in an HTML element
Using the old flash Vimeo embed code and converting to HTML - worked great on iBooks on Mac but not on iPhone/iPad as flash-based
Hosting and linking to videos on my own web server and using the Media - insert video link to the mp4 file
Hosting and linking to videos on my old photo server at smugmug.com
I can embed the actual videos but, at their smallest size they increase the file size of the ePub from 78MB to 400MB...
I then thought I would use a Folio Overlay - Web Content.
The idea is to use this blank page on my website which would look for all intents and purposes like another white page in the book - 2012 Slideshow - Oren Photography
The overlay works in Folio Preview but not when exported as an ePub
Is this a limitation of the ePub format?
Any help/advice/suggestions on fixing this are greatly appreciated.
EThanks again Steve and Bill
My interest in embedding videos was largely to minimize the final file size and amount of space used on each person's device. I ended up following your advice about using Adobe Media Encoder to minimize the size of each slideshow but it still increased the final ePub from 65 MB to over 200 MB. And that was with video quality that was far inferior from what I could offer through an embed or, my final solution, a link out to my website.
I happen to be of the same thought as Bill that most people are now connected to the internet and would favor a smaller file with access to online content over a very large file. I would have liked to embed the videos and allow 720p quality inside the ePub over the link I ended up settling for.

I have inserted my showreel, its working fine, but now I have tried to embed 3 others videos, they all come up with 'oops the embed code for this video isn't working'
I really don't understand why?
HollyHello,
How are you trying to preview the page ? "Preview"tab in Muse or Preview Page in Browser.
Do you have any URL for us to see ? Please share the codes that you are using to embed the video.

Is there a way to play a video using the embed code? I'd like to add a video from hapyak.com that I've worked on. I'd like to keep the video inside the presentation and not have the learners head to a new URL and then return to the Captivate presentation. Thank you.
Nö, vergiss es. Dafür gibt es weder die technischen Vorrausetzungen in ID/ Acrobat/ Reader, noch stellen dafür die Diensteanbieter entsprechende Funktionen zur Verfügung.

A Box has just started showing up that has the following.
get video url
get video URL at current time
Get embed code
report playback issue
get debug info
stats for nerds
about the HTML.5 player
this is on every video on face book. How to fix?I had the same issue.
I had a youtube downloader app that had a plug-in installed on my Home Safari. I deleted that app. and the plugin. Not sure if that was the culprit, but I figured I'd try.Thought maybe some bug crossed over when syncing the two safaris.
Anyway, I ended up unlinking my Mobile Safari to my Home Safari (iPad; iCloud/Safari/OFF)
A prompt will come up asking what you want to do with previously synced data: Delete from My iPad (don't worry, you'll get it back)
Your bookmarks should disappear.
Reset HOME Safari : Safari/Reset Safari (everything checkmarked)
Turn ON the Mobile Safari again (if you want to relink to the Home version) or keep off (and rebuild it from scratch on iPad alone)
Personally, I turned it on, got my bookmarks back then turned it off and pressed Keep on my iPad.
Now the two aren't linked and I have the bulk of my bookmarks back.
There might be variations of this solution so play around with the process and be sure to refresh your Mobile Safari browser on a video clip to see if it takes. -
Changing video embed code already dropped on page
In particular, I want to change the embed code in Video Lightbox by Christine Ricks. When I add Object > Insert HTML, it comes in as a separate piece and isn't recognized as part of content to be triggered. I've tried selecting different boxes, the video always drops in, I position it, but Muse doesn't see it as part of the modal content. I've seen tutorials like Create a Lightbox on Adobe TV, but what is glossed over is, it's not as simple putting the object on top of the lightbox box. In the Video Lightbox widget, I don't understand why I can't select the predefined YouTube video and simply edit the embed code. Anyone experienced this or know what I'm doing wrong?
Actually, you are right. There was an invisible/empty container box over the video embed. Once I moved it out of the way, I was finally actually selecting the right box. To meet the deadline, I saved it as html and then changed it in the code, but I'm glad there's a way to edit it in Muse, since not fooling with code is kind of the point of Muse. Thanks you wintersdesign.

Does anyone have a good solutions to make a video gallery on a page using iframes code, NOT from YouTube? I partnered with a video company and they gave me code to their portfolio videos which I can put on my site. However, I'm not finding a good way to have a thumbnail which can either open a lightbox on the same page and play the video or open a new window. At this point, I'm not going to be picky.
I was trying to use Web app program but it wasn't working. I have a variety of videos to show and wanted to arrange them in categories, but the Web app is not an ideal solution.
I get the video to work but it opens a large page which looks goofy. Plus, the video shows a > right above the video box.
I would really like to have the thumbnail open a lightbox which will play the video and have a link to play the next video as an option.
Any ideas? Thanks.I really appreciate the feed back and help.
I tried the following code. I am using a template from BC which has the gallery laid out. It works welll with images and YouTube, but not for the iframe code that I need to use.
<div class="alignleft thumb_shadow"><a href="iframe width="532" height="300" src="http://smb.somedia.net/videoembed-iframe.php?nid=21223&autoplay=false" frameborder="0" rel="prettyPhoto[one]"><img alt="" class="border neutral_border" src="/images/portfolio/thumbs/Pizza90secad.jpg" /></a> </div>
The image appears, and the lightbox but the video doesn't show up.
Any suggestions? I searched the Internet and read several pages about using the prettyPhoto but they don't show an example for this situation.
Thanks! -
