Adding warranty Tab in Equipment Master

I want to test waaranty function for equipment master.
In my Eqmt Master (IE01), I am not seeing warranty field.
Can you advise what config set up is needed for this.

Thanks exterts for your help. I am able to see the warranty tab in equipment master. I am testing how warranty could be used for materials (serial numbers). I have following questions:
1. When I configured waaranty as below
Spro>PM>Warranties>Define warranty types>Activate checkbox for order and notification
I noticed a column D.Box.Inv on top of order and notification checkbox. Would like to know what is this box for and what is the use
2.I have created material serial IQ01 , it created equipment automatically . When I created notification for the equipment it showed me the warranty dialog box. I want to know how warranty work for material/serial numbers. What other std SAP warranty functionality is available for material/serial number example such as inventory area and how it is used.

System status and configuration tab in equipment master.

Hi,
Will some one expalin following points.
1.Can we add / modify system status in configuration.-if yes path for the same.
2.Is system status linked to user status-if yes path for the same.If no on whhich basic system status is changed .
3.What is use of configuration data tab in equipment master.Is this required for creating work order,notification ,task list etc.Is their any link between equipment master and material master.

1. Yes you can add modify system status using transaction BS22. However these are system delivered functionality and its not advisable to change these.
2.Its the other way around. User status can be linked to system status through the configuration for user status.Double lick on the user status definition to reach the system status dependencies editor in transaction OIBS.
3. Equipment master and material master can be linked either through serial number functionality (Material number + serial number = Equipment number) or through the "Construct" field(Structure tab) in the equipment master. The configuration data tab is used to link equipment master to a pre-existing variant of material. Adding and deleting additional tab in Equipment master

Hi,
I tried to add some extra tab in the equipment master ...by getting into set view profiles and clicked the equipment group and also click the activity and layout of views in left and added the warrant and given 110 also...then i did clicked in icons and text of views but it is no showing in IE01...also it shows some other tab which i dont want to maintain...I tried to delete the other option from view profiles...but still i am seeing the other tab in ie01.
can anyone tell me how to add and also how to delete the view profiles?

Pls check both these steps are followed by u
1. Master Data in PM & CS>Gen Data > Set View Profiles for Tech Objects>Screen grp eq data .Create the View profile by adding/deleting the tab page u want
2. Now assign this view profile in the following step
Tech Objects>Equipment>Equipment Categories>Maintain Eq Category .Here u can enter this view profile.I assume this step might be missing in ur config

Below are the Path for SPRO
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service>Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service>Technical Objects>Equipment>Equipment Categories-->Define Additional Business Views for Equipment Categories
Then Select the Equipment Category for which you want deactivate the Sale and Distr. View and Uncheck or Unmark the "S" Column Check box

Warranty dates in Equipment master

Dear all,
When iam doing Delivery(VL01N) Equipments are picking automatically through Serial number profile.
When iam doing service for that iam not able to capture My warrratny time. Because in Equipment masrer warrant dates
Begin guarantee & Warranty End dates are empty. How can i fill these dates automatically when iam doing delivery.

I dont think it is possible to fill these dates automatically while doing the delivery as Begin guarantee & Warranty End are being captured from Equipment Master Data .
If you see Equipment Master should have all the details related to equipment and logically it is not correct that equipment master data is empty and we are putting the equipment related details in other documents from somewhere else.

Business process tab in Equipment master

Thyagarajan,
I don't think there is a standard field in equipment /FL for this.
You could use the Class / Characteristic functionality to assign the same to equipment master.You can then use the user exit "IWO10027 Generate user-specific settlement rule" to read this assign the same to order.

Adding custom fields to Equipment master General tab ?

I have requirement where in I need to add two custom fields in IE02/IE03.
Completed part :
1. The new fields are added in the EQUI table in CI_EQUI structure.
2. Created a project in CMOD and linked enhancement ITOB0001 to it .
3. Activated the User exits EXIT_SAPLITO0_001 and EXIT_SAPLITO0_002.
4. Logic in EXIT_SAPLITO0_001
E_SUBSCREEN_NUMBER = '1020'.
I_OBJECT_TYPE = '02'.
I_ACTIVITY_TYPE = '3'.
EQUI-zfld1 = I_DATA_EQUI-zfld1.
EQUI-zfld2 = I_DATA_EQUI-zfld2.
Logic in EXIT_SAPLITO0_002
E_UPDATE_DATA_EQ-zfld1 = EQUI-zfld1.
E_UPDATE_FLAGS_EQ-zfld1= 'X'.
E_UPDATE_DATA_EQ-zfld2 = EQUI-zfld2.
E_UPDATE_FLAGS_EQ-zfld2 = 'X'.
Now the place where I got stuck is do I need to create a subscreen to add these new fields in SAPLITO0 , 1020 screen ?
Do I need to create a Function group ? If yes how do I link these.
I think I need access to Edit from SE51.
I have browsed many threads but no luck.

Read carefully the SMOD enhancement documentation
During CMOD execution, double-click on one of the Customer-exit dynpro (first time, choice the first one, the other dynpros will be used later for other objects)
In EXIT_SAPLITO0_001, pass the dynpro number in export parameter (e.g. 1000 for first one)
NB: In this exit you receive I_OBJECT_TYPE as imported parameter to identify Object Type: '1' = F/L '2' = EQU '3' = SER (do not try to change it ) so include may start with a CASE I_OBJECT_TYPE. WHEN 'EQU'. E_SUBSCREEN_NUMBER = '1000'... ENDCASE.

Warranty Date field in the equipment master data

Hi everyone!
I wanted to display the warranty date field in the equipment master data (IE01). I have already made the configuration and added the additional tab and screen thru this path:
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Technical Objects > General Data > Set View Profile for Technical Objects
But still, the tab is not added and the warranty date field is not found in the "Define Field Selection for the Equipment Master Record". please help me with this. We need this data because we are not using serial numbering and warranty master data that's why a way to track the warranty date is thru this adjustment in the equipment master data screen.

Make sure that you have assigned this specific profile to the Equipment category of the associated equipment that you are creating under SPRO > PM> Master data> tech object > Equipment > Equip category.

VMS and Equipment Master creation for Warranty

Hi, Can anyone tell me what is the recommended method for assigning warranties for vechicles when using VMS. Is the Equipment master or General Object number and what is the difference between the two ?

I have one question according warranty in VMS:
what is the difference between warranty assigned to vehicle and the one assigned to Equipment?
I am comparing solution and see some missing parts in both cases
My summary is like that:
Solution 1 - Warranty is assigned to Vehicle WITHOUT equipment
+ WTY recognizes VIN as valid warranty object
+ there is an action in VMS to assign warranty master (vendor and customer one)
+ in VELO you can see claim history (in tab Warranty)
problems
-there is no template for measurements points (as in equipment)
Solution 2 Warranty assigned to Equipment - equ created in VELO linked to vehicle
+ standard actions in VELO to create equipment,
+ standard solution to define template for equipment with measurement points
+warranty assignment is also as one action in velo
Problems
-tab with warranty history in VELO does not get claims related to EQU
-in WTY equipment must be entered u2013 better would be with VIN
-measurement points and warranty in velo are not visible (button in vehicle details)

Equipment master data : address in "Location" tab

Hi experts,
Can someone tell me what the "address" data (in equipment master data, "Location" tab) are for?
What is an example of business case which will use that "address"?

Hi,
It is the same address data that is available on equipment header (Ctrl+F5). It could be the address of where the equipment is located or where it operates. Alternatively it might be the contact details for the equipment owner or maintenance company.
It is similar to maintaining partners but you can use it as suits the business requirements.

Master Warranty in equipment master resets after PGR

Hi,
My requirement is related a service management/ customer servivce related.
If the equipment at customer site is not working, We create a RMA and process a return delivery. After the PGR the master warranty start date in the equipment master changes back to the 01/01/1900. Is there a setting to control this somewhere? or do i need to use a user exit at the time of PGR to make sure this doesnt happen ?

I am closing this thread, as we are no longer looking to use a master warranty in SAP CRM

I found a solution - A warranty or warranties are assigned to an equipment. The correct function to use is 'WARRANTY_ASSIGNMENT_RFC'. Hope this helps someone out there.

Dear All,
I have solved my by following the below logic.
We have to get the value of ILOAN Number from EQUZ table, then pass the value and Execute ILOA table where in we can get the ADRNR Number.
Address Number should be passed to ADRC Table to get the address details of the consumer.
I take this oppurtunity to thank everyone who contributed this thread.

Why "Warranty" Tab does not exist when picking

Dear friends,
Below is my issue
When picking against a SO, After assignment the batch number , go to header "Extras" >serial numbers> Assign Serial number Then double click check box of "Eqpt"..there is no Warranty tab exist..Where did I miss?

Hi,
You need to configure View profile and you have need to assign to equipment category.
Define
IMG >> Plant maintenance and Customer service >> master data in PM & CS >> Technical objects >> General data >> set view profiles for technical object
Screen group - Screen group for equipment data
Profile - standard
Select row and double click on ACTIVITY & LAYOUT OF VIEW
Add screen number 110 - Warranty in existing tab
or you can define new tab as warranty and assign 110 screen
Assign
IMG >> Plant maintenance and Customer service >> master data in PM & CS >> Technical objects >> Equipment >> equipment categories >> Maintain equipment categories.
Here you can assign that profile to you equipment category.
