Adding WorkFlow to Spaces Pages

Has anyone added workflows/Approval to WebCenter Spaces Page content, I am not talking about the WebCenter Content workflow/approvals but adding a workflow/approval to a page that has had text image or link changes.
We are looking to do in WebCenter Spaces the same functionality that 10G Portal middleware has. In 10g Portal we can set an approval process for any changes that occur on a page. We are being told the only way to do this in Spaces is to import a HTML page from WebCenter Content but doing this we will lose all the functionality of editing that Spaces provides. Additionally our users that update pages are not HTML programmer and need a wysiwyg interface.
I am really shocked that ORACLE would remove this functionality from a new product, but has anyone set up a workflow/approval for WebCenter space page changes? Or is the functionality there, but I talking to the wrong people.

I'm glad you could buy the WCC story. To your questions:
1) The pop editor window is very small, you can resize it but we want to be able to set the with of the popup when it opens, so it dispaly the edit to the same width as the page they are editing.That's an interesting question. Out of my head I'm not aware if there is a parameter to set it up. It might be worth asking in the WCC forum as a separate question (not sure how many people from there monitor also this forum).
2) We want to create a button or link for a user to click to get into the contributor mode instead of using the hot keys, Ctrl-Shift-CThis is definitely possible. Ctrl-Shift-C calls (via a javascript) a service which changes the page's mode to Contribution mode. Note that there is also the third mode - Designer's. I'd suggest to get a tutorial for Site Studio (not Site Studio for External Apps) as it will certainly demonstrate how this can be achieved.
3) We want to modify the style for the editor to match the style for the page, so the uses see exactly what the page will look like as the edit in the editor.Similar to #1 - maybe a separate question would be worth in WCC.
4) We are till looking into the Workflow and the Notification on approvals and how it will work but we are having problems with the email notifications and seeing if the notification can show up in the activity/notifications in Spaces.If I got the point you'd like to see email notifications in what? (Lists? Activities?) in Spaces. I'm afraid OOTB WCC native workflows create just an email, and you'd need to customize your system so that the email is transferred to, for instance, a list item. Alternatively, you could use BPEL rather than WCC native workflows (WCC can hand over workflows like that). BPEL could be, then, integrated with WebCenter Portal. But, yes, it looks complicated.

Workflow with OAF page issue

We have a termination process from MSS. When clicked on the function from home page, it launches hirerachy page and then from then when clicked on action for a particular person takes you to the effective date PG.
After selecting effective date, it takes to the termination page.
My requirement is to verify effective date entered in the effective date PG and if its 2 days prior to system date, show a warning page. And after reading instructions on waning PG , user should click on n be directed to Termination PG.
I added a new page in the workflow before termination page. BUt nw when i try to click back on termination PG it doesnt take m to the hirerachy page as it was before adding my warning page.
Instead i get an error like 'oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-20002: 3133: Activity instance 'HR_TERMINATION_JSP_FCT' is not a notified activity for item 'HRSSA/1106623'
Please help on the resolution asap.

Hi Preeti,
I think you can adjust the date functionality either on Hierarchy or Termination page itself there is no need to create a new page.
I suggest you to add a new region on termination page itself where user can enetr the effective date and make it mandatory and display warning message as required, please check if it is feasible.

HELP --- Error while adding Portlets to the Page. (WWC-44012)

Hi all,
I have a pl/sql portlet. It compiles fine and shows up perfectly in portlet repository. But when i add this to the page, I get following error

An unexpected error occurred: User-Defined Exception (WWC-43000)

I checked the portlet specification file (.pks) and body file (.pkb) for any mistakes but they seems fine.
Does anyone know what can cause this error?
Any pointers in this regards will be highly appreciated.

Could you provide some more details about your code? I will try to look into possible causes of the error. One thing you may try is subscribing to the Knowledge Exchange on http://portalcenter.oracle.com. Then you could post your code in your community folder and everyone would be able to test it out.
Of course, this means you must be willing to share your code with everyone.

Without too many gory details, I am using excel to concatenate some data to dynamically build a hyperlink to these extraced files. It casues me problems, however, for the space to be the the file name. Is there any way to change the default behavoir of this function to perhaps use a dash or underscore instead of a space?

No, you can't change the default naming scheme. You can do it yourself if you extract the pages using a script instead of using the built-in command.

2) start brtools
3) Select option 2 -- Space management
4) Select option 1 -- Extend tablespace
5) Select option 3 --Tablespace name (specify tablespace name) and say continue(c- cont)

7) Select option 5 -- Size of the new file in MB (specify the size of the file) and say continue

Reviewer Added Workflow

Hi all, can you help me with the following issue:
I am using the SCSM functionality to automatically add reviewer by clicking the "Line Manager Should Review" checkbox. In this case manager's name should be automatically included in Reviewer's list. All users have managers in AD. I found that
the workflow responsible for this action is "Reviewer Added Workflow".
The problem is that in some Service Requests the name of the manager is not populated automatically. This happens in 30% of the Service Requests which is not good.
I checked that all workflows are with status "Succeeded" even those with missing Reviewers:

"Line Manager Should Review" is a legacy from SCSM 2010 and is actually adding the manager for the user
creating the request. So the question here is, do the user that created that request have a manager specified?

Passing session parameter to a portlet from webcenter spaces page

How do you pass a parameter to a portlet on a WebCenter Spaces page? For example, I have the user's company ID in the session, I need to pass that company ID to the portlet defined to accept a company ID parameter so that the returned data can be filtered.

You can for example add the companyID to the url of the page and then pass that parameter to the parameter of your portlet.
Have you created your portlet to enable inter portlet communication? You should first do that and create a navigation-parameter in the oracle.xml. If you don't know what i'm talking about, i'll explain a bit more.
Their is another way, which is easier i think, is to set the value of your portlet parameter to an expression language refering to a session variabel.
In you portlet parameter set the companyId (if you have created a navigation-parameter companyID) to following value:
#{sessionScope.company}You will have to set the value of that session variable from within your webcenter spaces.
How are you doing that? Are you planning on setting that variable using another portlet, taskflow,... This can be very important on how webcenter reactt on parameters and it can also give you additional ways on passing the parameters.

Labels Not Showing Up Correctly in Workflow Manager Web Page

I have installed the Workflow Server 2.6.3 on Red Hat 7.2 against the Oracle 10g database. When I go to the Workflow Manager web page and login, all the labels appear between brackets "[]" and have incorrect names such as the following:
WF_WORKFLOW_TITLE
WFA_WTITLE
OPEN_NOTIFICATIONS
WFA_FINDTITLE
WFRTG_FIND_TITLE
etc......
I ran the Configuration Assistant again and this didn't solve the problem and I've also verified that the mappings in the server configuration file are correct for OA_JAVA, OA_DOC, OA_MEDIA. Looked through workflow installation log and no errors appear. I installed the web server (Oracle Apache Standalone downloaded from OTN in a separate Oracle Home). Any ideas how to fix these incorrect labels or why they're not showing up correctly??

Hi,
I've not seen the problem myself, but it seems that the language has not created the correct lookups in the WF_RESOURCES table.
If you look for a name of (for example) 'OPEN_NOTIFICATIONS', there should be an entry for the language you are using (US) which translates the prompt for you. If it's not there then you will probably need to add a language through the installer - I don't think there is a SQL file that you can just run to do it. Alternatively, install it in a new environment and then just extract the resources you need from that system and insert them into this one.

Per my understanding that you want to add one textbox at the bottom of the tablix and make it display as the last on each page after the tablix, you have try to add the page footer but if there is little record in the report you will got some space between
the report footer and the last row of the tablix, right?
If you don't want to display the space and I suggest you don't use the report footer and you can take reference to the details information below to display the information as the last row of the tablix on each page:
Right click the Details in the Row Group and select to Add Group-->Parent Group:
and add this expression in the Group By:
=Ceiling(RowNumber(Nothing)/10)
(10 is the number of rows you want to display on each page)
Right click the row group to select the "Group Properties" and add page break by check the "Between each instance of a group":
Right click the first column which the Group located and select the Insert Row-Inside Group-Below:
Select the Entire Column1(Group) and delete columns:
Merge the entire last Row and type the information "I need to show on all the page" in it:

Force Webcenter Spaces Page to Refresh on focus

We are on WebCenter Spaces PS5. We have a page inside spaces which we want to refresh on focus. We have a document upload portlet on a page which is used to upload a document and then display the list of documents in a result table on that page.
PROBLEM: We have to manual refresh the page for the newly uploaded document to be displayed on the resultable on the page.
QUESTION: How can we force the page to refresh on focus?
Remember this is a webcenter spaces page.

Adding Worksheet leaves space at the top of the page in Portal

hi guyz
I have put an image on the top of the page. When I add a worksheet on the remaining part, it leaves a small space on the top of the page thus bringing the image a bit down.
If I remove that worksheet, it behaves normally.
