Addition and Overwrite update types for ODS

Hello BW Experts ,
I have an issue.
For a particular Order and Cost element on R/3 side I have Four cost Figures .
When I do full upload from the related standard data source to ODS with update type Overwritten I am getting only the last cost figure of the same order and Cost elemet.
I am loadind data from this ODS to infocube further.
Now the problem is I want the sum of all the cost figures for the same order and same cost element.
But as the last cost figure is overwritten in ODS I am not getting the correct sum.
So i have made changes to the update type from Overwrite to Addition.
Now I am getting the addition of all cost figures correctly .
Now I am doubtful that If I add further data to ODS by full upload then all cost figures will get doubled.
Please explain me what to do in such a case.

Hello Amol,
check if the datasource supports delta!! you can see it in the rsa6 datasource display. check for the delta checkbox. also from the roosource table this can be found out.
if yes, shift to init-delta loads from full loads.
only the init may take some time but the deltas on daily basis should not take much time.
also one more thing to add to the earlier responses is you can automate the deletion of similar request in infopakcage setting so that u need not manually delete the full upload request daily( if u are working on full uploads on daily basis).

Can anybody please tell, where do we do this setting, for update type in ODS.
As per my knowledge, for Cube, we are having updation for key figures, from that respective, key figure will get updated.

Hi Vinay,
Creating update rules: Right click on ODS -> create UR.
Select the Infosource Radio Button (u can use datatargets also). In the next screen keep the cursor on any datafield and click on Details button just above that table. there u can specify which update type u want.

Hae you tried to do a hard reset of your phone? This will not lose any data. Hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the phone turns off ignoring any slide to power off messages. Then power the phone back on.

On several of my apps my iPad 2 w/ IOS 4.3.3 said I needed to update the apps and the updates were for ios4.3.3 but now the apps don't work at all after updating. They just flash on the screen but don't stay displayed. What is going on?

In my situation, the screen simply started exhibiting the same symptoms a few weeks ago (early February) for no apparent reason. At first I thought the screen was dead, but discovered the heat solution by accident. Now I turn it on and keep it from going to sleep until I go to bed. Thank goodness the battery is still awesome on this thing.
I bought it new and still has the original screen, I keep it at home (never below 62 degrees). Coincidentally, this happened a day or two after the expiration of the warranty!! Any help figuring this one out would be eternally appreciated.

Process Chains and Process Types for ODS Change logs

We have created and used process chains to manage a large amount of our batch processing. I am looking to convert our batch process of deleting data from ODS change logs into a process chain. I have been unable to find a process type that will allow us to do this.
Any thoughts?

Hi Lisa,
You can use Process "Deleting Requests from the PSA" for deleting PSA and change log data.
Since the change log is also stored as a PSA table, you can also use this function to delete change log
records. You can find additional information under Deleting from the Change Log.

Update rule for ODS problem

Hi experts,
I have a ODS which is created on another ODS. The unerlying ODS had one infoobject and later on it was removed. The problem occurs when creating the udpate rules for the top ODS. The deleted infoobject comes in the update rules of the ODS as grey but I think it shouldnt be there .

Hey, in the Update Rules, you have 2 sections.
1) Source ODS InfoObjects
2) Taget ODS InfoObjects
If you want, remoe the InfoObject from both the ODS.
Also, activate the Source ODS again and also Activate the Update Rules too.

Hi,
 We are looking to implement Tangosol cache for our one of our critical J2EE systems and I am pretty new to it. One of the requirements is to know the following timings
 -Time when an object was put in a cache X (Last update of the object)
 -Time when an object was last accessed in the cache X (Last access time of an object)
 Is it possible to get these values through the Tangosol J2EE API?

Unable to create followup and view transaction types for InteractionRecord

Hi,
We are currently working in crm 7.0 environment.
we are not able to create followup transaction for Interaction Record -
Transaction Type - Business activity(0010).
We are not even able to view the standard transaction types available
when we select followup both in UI and GuI.
Any inputs in this regard are rewarded and appreciated.

Have you configured anything in the "Allowed Channels for transaction types".
If not, it may be worth copying the standard transation type and then setting the values in the above screens.
if you set a values of "interaction Center"(IAC) and "CRM Server"(GUI) then you shoudl see the activity.
I am using CRM 5.0 but would imaging it is similar in 7.0.

Does Mac have any plans to create and/or update drivers for multi-media hardware that is useless to me after "upgrading" to Mavericks? This is a waste of money for free..

I have found that since I "upgraded" to Mavericks, many pieces of audio hardware that was compatable with snow leopard is not compatable with mavericks. these machines are supposed to be the best for multi-media, now, without any warning, Mac has really messed this up. What are they thinking. I just converted from PC. Was it a $3000 mistake. MAC....Get BUsy, It can't be that hard to create some drivers that are compatable with common and popular pieces of hardware needed to do the projects I bought this thing for!!!!

similar problem here. running the latest 13 inch mbpr and ableton live software, mavericks obvsly.
experiencing crashes only with external soundcards attached. it happened with a usb interface (NI audio 2 dj) and with a echo audiofire 2 (firewire through thunderbold adapt.)
keyboard and trackpad got unresponsive after the crash with the usb interface as they run on the usb buss I suppose.
This is interesting: If i m running usb or firewire interfaces plugged in to my thunderbold display at home - i get 0 problems. it just works 100%
so what does this tell us? is the hardware of the macbook defective?
but why does the FW interface crash then when attached to the computer directly and not if attached to the display?
this is extremely frustrating. basically my job is using this machine on stage and i cant use it. i m back to my 2007 macbook now running 10.6, thinking about getting a USED machine which was before mavericks and haswell - think these are the issues and what i would like to know:
WILL THERE EVER BE A FIX FOR THIS ON THE LATE 2013 MBPr??

I asked this Q Aug 20; confirmed account. Firefox crashed again at 8:44 pm: Using Firefox 6. 0 None of crash articles apply. Disabled Java add-ons as I'm using Windows 2000 and all updates are for XP. Adobe no longer supports Windows 2000.

The crash happens when I close Firefox. There is no dump report so I can't give a Crash ID.
Firefox started crashing after I upgraded to 6.0 so I wonder if I should go back to the earlier version.

Cube and ODS update types

Hi all. Please tell me in brief about update types for ODS and InfoCube. I know there is something Addition,No update,overwrite. But I do not know how they work.

Hi Rajesh,
No Update means - no data is updated into the target (Cube or ODS).
Overwite - Only for ODS, not possible for Cube. this iwll overwrite the exisiting enrty in the ODS with the new values.
Aditive - The records would be summed up ... Cube can only work either in Additive or No Update mode.

TPM44 Error: No Update type defined for reset

Hello Experts,
Need your help on the TPM44 error I encountered. When I tried to execute TPM44 it mentioned this:
No update type defined for reset (003,L419,001,510,51A,MM1905-)
And the procedure is to define the update type for the reset flow.
But I verified my config and I already did set it up. under Assign Update type for Accrual/Deferral.
Can you please advise what else is missing?

I was able to fix his one by populating the deferral update type as well.
Thanks for your advise but now I have a new error:
Please maintain same amount for FC and GC. FC and GC same currency
The FC and GC Ive maintained in the Assignment of Valuation Area to Accounting code is both USD.
Im not sure why Im encountering above error.

Message no. TRS0835
how do I solve this?

Sign of payment is missing for update type SE3005

Hi
When I am trying to create a security transaction the following error is displayed.
- Sign of payment is missing for update type SE3005.
But, when I remove tick from the check box for CM relevant I am able to create the same. The path is CFM - TM - General Settings - Link to Cash Management - Specify update types for Cash Management.
Can someone clarify on this.

Thanks for the Response. But we have not configured the Payment Reporting functionality for any of our Treasury products.
However the issue has got resolved as the configuration settings were missing in :
Treasury and Risk Management >Transaction Manager > Securities > Position Management > Securities Account Management > Update Types > Specify Update Types for Securities Account Management.
Now it has been configured for update type SAM1800.
