Addition of copy on action save
This wasn't happening before, but now, every time I use a 'save' action, "copy" is inserted after the filename even if no other image with the same filename/extension is in the folder. Any help would be appreciated.
I don't know how to attach an image of my action, but would be happy to send a jpg via email if any one wishes.

is checked! It is also grayed out so that it can not be unchecked. Is there an option somewhere which can uncheck that checkbox? I never had this problem in CS2.

Hi everyone,
I've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created.
Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but I wondered if anyone knows whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?
Appreciate any advice.
ThanksSince save for web is an export plugin, none of the destination options have any effect on where the files are saved
or the file names.
Save for web only saves the files to the folder specified when you recorded the action.
(it's always been that way and still is in photoshop cc)

Help creating batch action, save as tiff
I'm not *getting* it, and have been trying for a couple hours. Please, what am I missing???
Steps I've done;
Created a set called rit sq color balance
Created an action called color balance
Created an action called save and close, Saving as TIFF, Close
Should I not be able to run this sequence of adjusting the color, saving into the destination file as a tiff?
Each action works separately, but not together.You need to add (just drag it like you might a layer) the save step of save and close action into the color balance action, making that action a two-step action (color balance, then save). Then your batch setup will run.
If you check the "override action save as" (which you've done), you should see the warning below. Since there are no save steps in your color balance action (right now they reside in the save and close action), no files are saved. If you don't see this warning, you might consider resetting all the warning dialogues in the general areas of the prefs.
This would all be less confusing if you actions weren't named the steps they call... -
Why do my MAC Microsoft Office printouts always issue me an additional print copy of the Filename, author, date, minutes, words etc? What can I do to remove this? It is wasting ink and paper.
Yes but there's no point doing it here. As the Terms of Use make quite clear this is a User to User forum. It's Users like you talking to other Users. It's not a channel to communicate with Apple.

I can't copy, paste or save in Dreamweaver 5.5. This is frustrating because about 3 months ago CS2 Design Suite crashed and I can't reinstall it. Please help! I'm getting no support.
What is the error message you're getting when you try to copy/ paste/ save? Is this happening only for 1 file or all files?
Can you open up Adobe Application Manager and check to see if you have any updates available for DW and ensure its up-to-date? -
SPD 2013 - Copy Document action - how do you update the copied list item's metadata?
SharePoint 2013 Designer no longer has the Copy List Item Action, it only has a Copy Document action. It seems that this action provides no way of saving the copied documents list item ID. How do you update the list item after it has been copied??

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to copy the list item in SharePoint 2013.
The Copy List Item is
available only on the SharePoint 2010 Workflow platform, you can create a SharePoint 2010 workflow using the SharePoint 2010 workflow platform to achieve it.
You can also use the Content and Structure to copy the list items: Site Settings->Site Administration->Content and Structure.

Trigger name for Action -- Save
Hi, I have developed a oracle form with few Items. In that some of the items like First Name, lat name, Address1, Age is mandatory. If user hit the save button then validation is working fine. Now user is able to insert a record bypassing the validation by using Action Save Option. What Triggers do I need to use to make the validation workable?

How To Save Jpeg Copy As Action
Hi - how do I create an action that saves my open image as a jpeg copy in the same directory as the original? Rather than save as export I am doing a straight 'Save As...' and then selecting the jpeg option. When you do this the 'save as copy' is greyed out. If I 'Save As..' but before changing to jpeg, whilst it is a PSD file I can select 'save as copy', then select the jpeg option. Whilst the box is greyed out it is still ticked. However it still does not save as a copy, but overwrite the original.
Any clues? Using CS5.Hi.
You can also use the keyboard shortcut Alt+Ctrl+S (save as copy) when recording the action to add copy to the name.
There's an obvious one I missed. This solves a problem lurking in the action. Duplicate preserves the original name (plus "copy"). But the Save dialog will open to the spot recorded in the action. Not the source document folder. You might have to navigate to the right folder. So in this statement,
The file should be saved to the same folder...
needs a small correction. Change "should" to "probably won't".
Using "Duplicate" severs the ties between the original document and the copy. Alt+Ctrl+S retains that link and the Save dialog opens the right folder. If your Save step isn't conditional, the new file will be named Original Name plus "copy.jpg". So the action gets really simple.
1. Ctrl+Alt+S. With Format set to Jpg.

PS CS6 action save for web error
In Photoshop CS6 actions when we save the image as JPEG through save for web it doesn't work when we run it, instead it runs and saves the image as HTML, i guess some error in it. I tried it again and again but it doesn't remember my save for web settings and saves the images as HTML.
It a new bug in CS6 though when you recorded the action you saved jpeg images to you desktop and you only entered file names onto the save for web action steps the action recorder recorded name.html. I replaced you save for web steps on my machine for my desktop and CS6 recorded name.html. I then did the same with CS5 though I only entered names CS5 recorded name.jpg.
If you expand the export steps tou will see the hard coded file names and extention
An action like this will always save the same files it can not be batch because you recorded Path and Names in the save for web steps. The .html files saved on with CS6 are actually jpeg files and if you rename them hrom name.html to name.jpg you can use them,

Copy/paste in save as dialog box
I am using your pdf plugin with Safari but when I click the save icon I cannot paste text into the file name box. I have to manually type it in. Can I copy & paste in the save dialog box?
Safari 6.0.1 OS X 10.8.2 Reader 10.1.4
The plugin works for me I just need copy/paste ability when saving the file. -
Copy & paste into save for web color palette doesn't function on macs
This didn't work in CS2 either on the mac side. Yet, you can copy a color hex code in the normal program, save for web and paste that color into the color picker for matte on a gif just fine on a PC. Get on a mac and you better get a pen out. Why?! Why can't I paste into the save for web/devices color picker?! Seriously? $600 and I can't copy and paste because I use a mac while at work on the PC I can do it without issue.
Is this something that will be given to mac users in a future update?

I can't install an application becouse the Apple Store is asking for additional security questions but the system is unable to save the security unswers provided.
i am having this exact problem, installing through itunes works fine but obviously i wont have itunes available when im out, its driving me mad i cant install anything because the third security question just stays highlighted blue and i cant select a question which obviously means i cannot continue to install....has ANYBODY got a solution please?

Photshop Actions (Save As) between PC and Mac
I have a very large series of actions that do some pretty complicated moving of layers, switching visible layers and saving of these layers to separate jpgs. Over all, there is probably close to 300 separate actions that run at one go.
I just migrated from a PC to a Mac... My question is, when the action comes to saving a file in a location; the same path doesn't exist on the mac because its looking for c:/folder/output and that of course, doesn't exist on the mac, paths don't work that way.
So when it comes to that part, the actions just stops dead. I could go through the over 300 separate save portions and re-save each time it stops. But that would take me forever.
Is there an easy way to do this, without going back to the PC? Am I doing something wrong?
Thank You.You should be able to edit that step for each action. Double-click on the action step and reroute it. If nothing else, just trash the step and remake it.
Once a step is made in one action, it can be duplicated in other actions by just dragging and dropping. -
