Additional blank browser window appears when testing a Web Dynpro app.

When I run a Web Dynpro Application, I always get a second blank browser window opening at the same time as the application. This is not happening for everyone here though. I guess it's a browser setting but I haven't been able to track it down and it's very annoying having this thing pop up every time.
Any idea how I can get rid of it?

Hi Enrique,
suspend and resume plugs don't work on Portal, this is done by Portal Navigation. You can suspend the application by setting the Suspensibility property, but not use the plugs. If you are running v10.4.8 as your profile indicates, then you definitely need to update your system software.
Click your Apple menu / Software Update... (top left in your screen)
The minimum requirements for Safari 4 for Tiger is v10.4.11 as noted here.
After you updated your software, repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. If you see any warnings re: SUID messages, they can be safely ignored, information here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448?viewlocale=en_US 
Very important to keep your software up to date so apps like Safari can function as they should.

I am Looking for a script that would load a web page in a
specific browser window size with no scroll upon people entering
the page. I've looked all over and only could find pop up window
scripts. I would like to have a specific browser window size from

While you might like that, nearly all of your site visitors
will NOT like
that.
Fortunately, most browsers today have listened to those
complaints and have
disabled the resizing and removing of chrome from windows
that are already
open/created.
As such, if you want to attempt to control the browser
windows, then you
have to use a pop-up link.

In Web Dynpro for Java there is a way to set authentication property to true and by that enforcing a login screen in case someone is browsing this application outside of an authenticated context (for example, the portal).
My question is: How do I do this for Web Dynpro for ABAP?

Actually... I take it back. I TRIED to update to 16.0.2, but I keep getting the error message that Firefox must be closed first. I'm using Chrome to send these messages, and have also closed iTunes, in case that was contributing to the problem. No use... I can't install the upgrade.

Then in order to get back to my search page, I have to close the tab. Irritating.

Another standard diagnostic step is to try Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether it is caused by a custom setting or add-on.

External displays - browser window position when disconnected display

I'm using a laptop, connecting one or two external displays, - one using the HDMI port, second using an USB "dock station" (Toshiba standalone). Second screen normally to the right, third screen (usb) above the laptop screen.
Often when I have disconnected the USB external display, my Firefox browser window are still "on the third display" - position as if this display was still active.
Even if I quit Firefox and restarts ( or even restarts windows ) the same position window is retained. The only way to fix it (when the USB connected display is not available), is to change the window position of the second (HDMI) display to cover the area of the USB one, then move Firefox window to my main laptop display, and then reposition the second screen back to the normal.
Normally, I expect applications to automatically reposition the windows to the available display(s) under the conditions that an extra display is removed. However, this seems not to happen with Firefox. It's inconvinient, but possible to fix with the second screen available, but I'm lost when I am not able to connect an external display ...
Is there any solution to this? Is it possible to change (reset) window positions directly in RegEdit ??

I've tried your suggestion but ran into some problems. The links I am trying to open in another window are actually PDF files that the viewer can download from my website.
Since I was having problems I decided to try something else. After publishing the website to my desktop I then opened the pages where the links are in Dreamweaver. The layout view is great and displayed the image just the way it appears on the browser's window. I first selected the "link button" to the file and then in the inspector windows (bottom of the page) I chose under target the "_blank" option. This tells the software that the linked page or file is to be opened in a new blank browser window. I then saved the page (re-saved it over the existing file) to incorporate the changes. After this I proceeded to navigate through the website and everything works great.

Force a window browser window close when open docs FROM THE KD

We have an issue when opening documents from the kd a browser window opens, then the office doc opens. But it leaves the blank browser window there open. I have looked into it, and it appears the ptcommonOpener may be able to be modified with a piece of javascript "currentWin.close" in the href that gets built with the link.
Does anyone have any experience with this or another way to do it.

the problem has been solved for me following the process :
1 -close entourage
2 - start and follow the complete reconstruction of the entourage database ;
3 - in the "entourage" menu, disable "office reminds" or "office recall" (i don't know the exact name because my entourage is in french)
For me it has worked. when i click on the dock entourage shortcut it opens without showing the new message windows at start.

Targeting url hyperlink to blank browser window

I have an indesign file and have created some hyperlinks that go to specific URLs. After I export to pdf the file is uploaded and is embedded in a browser. When this happens, the problem is that when the hyperlink is clicked, the destination page opens in the same browser window, so I wondered if there was a way to customise the link in Indesign so that it will open in a blank browser window once the pdf file is within the browser. I know I would have to use target="_blank" but I don't know if there's a way to add this within ID.
I wondered if anyone has had this scenario and whether there's any solution?

There's the APex javascript function you can use html_PopUp - you can use it in the button's URL Target:
google it to get more details - you can specify the new window name e.g. myWindow and window size etc

Cmd window appears when running sqldeveloper.exe for some users

I'm wondering why a cmd window appears when I double click the sqldeveloper.exe executable?
This is a Windows 2008 server.
Also, when the user that installed SQL Developer runs it, the cmd window has no text in it but when other users are logged into the server and run the same executable, they have a lot of messages appearing in the cmd window similar to:

If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

Once open, Firefox locks the Profile that is in use and you can not open another window with that Firefox version and Profile combination using the Windows Desktop icon or the Windows Programs list.
