Additional password dialog CE 5

We ve the following problem. When we switch on the WINCE Security Policy
with additional password settings. The devices are asking to fill in a
password (set a password) all is ok until we reboot (switch off) the
mobile device. When it comes up there is for less then 1 second a password
dialog after that there is a topbar where it shows that the password
screen is showing. Below it is a white screen and there is the possibility
to show the screenkeyboard. I ve to type blind to fill in the password and
then press ok. Then i am in the device. When i press the password wrong or
when i switch off the screenkeyboard or press somewhere in the white
screen then the device is hanging complete.

Hi,
Talked to Novell about all bugs I collected. I had to pay more than 10.000
US $.
In case it were real bugs I get my money back.
Novell advised not to do this for this product. I think that will say enough

  • My lock screen just shows a black background and a User Name/Password dialog after opening the screen from sleep. How do I get it back to where it blurs my desktop image with the dialog and my account image displayed?

I'm not sure when it began, but now my Macbook Air only shows a black background and a User Name and Password dialog box when I wake it from sleep. It used to show my desktop background blurred with my user name and icon displayed with only a text field for entering my password. I'm currently using Yosemite (OS X 10.10.1) and all updates have been done. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I know this isn't a real problem, just an annoyance since I couldn't find how to change it back in the System Preferences.

I just have to point out that after looking at a related post (https://discussions.apple.com/message/22661092#22661092), it brought to memory that my issue most certainly began happening after I added some DoD certificates to the keychain. This obviously has something to do with it, but it still leaves me wondering what actually causes this to happen. :/

You may need to rebuild permissions on your user account. To do this, boot to your Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and open Terminal from the Utilities menu. In Terminal, type:  ‘resetpassword’ (without the ’s), hit return, and select the admin user. You are not going to reset your password. Click on the icon for your Macs hard drive at the top. From the drop down below it select the user account which is having issues. At the bottom of the window, you'll see an area labeled Restore Home Directory Permissions and ACLs. Click the reset button there. The process takes a few minutes. When complete, restart.

  • Master password dialog inconsistent after update

After the latest update (v12.0), the master password dialog box is no longer come up immediately on visiting a password enabled site (like gmail). It now seems to pop up randomly -- sometimes appearing AFTER visiting one or two PW enabled sites, sometimes not until after 3 or 4. I have changed nothing in my configuration.

Dude, opening a site is not the issue. It's the '''master password''' dialog that doesn't always pop-up like it's supposed to even when opening a site with a stored password. I think it's a bug in Firefox 12.

  • Dvorak keymap temporarily disabled in password dialog

I installed a German Dvorak keyboard layout on my Mac. I found the keyboard layout at http://halibrand.de/dvorak/. This works fine in all applications except the password dialog that pops up when administrative privileges are needed. This dialog uses the normal German keyboard layout even though Dvorak is selected in the keyboard menu. All other applications still use the Dvorak layout while this dialog is displayed.
I can reproduce this problem on my PowerBook G4, Mac mini and iMac 24" (all running Mac OS X 10.5.2 although I noticed this problem earlier in 10.5.0 too)
Is there some special magic required for a keyboard layout to be used in the password dialog?

No, I installed the keyboard layout into my home folder's Library directory because I didn't want to mess up other user's settings.
Now that I think about it. The password dialog is probably not running with my privileges so it can't pick up my keyboard layout. I'll try moving the keyboard layout into /Library and see what happens when I get back home.

  • Can't accept any password dialogs in KDE [PARTIALLY SOLVED]

    Hi,
Since my last upgrade (yesterday, hadn't updated for a week), im having problems to enter any password inside KDE's password dialogs (kdesu, kwallet, kontact, kopete....)
The passwords just type in fine, but the "accept" button, or pressing enter wont do anything. The password dialog just stays there.
    Using Arch x86_64.
    Thanks.

As said in the bug report, you can use a workarround to fix this by disabling the "3 star input" option in system settings.

  • Font Corrupted in System Password Dialogs

Yesterday the font used in the system password dialog boxes changed from normal to A's within a box.  It is only happening with one user account on this computer, the other is fine.  Anyone know of a way to fix this?  Thanks.

Reinstall 10.5.0, repair permissions, and restart.

  • R&R 4.10 no Password dialog box displayed when recovering a Backup

    Hello all,
    I am using a T61 8898-6dg with XP and r&r 4.10.314
After reinstalling the system from a XP CD I tried to reinstall an R&R backup from a network share.
R&r starts well showed me the backup files and all the files included in the backup. So I was able to select the files I want to recover and the recovery process starts.
Because the backup is secured by a password, a dialog box should appear and asking for the password. But now, r&r stops and nothing happens. I think it is waiting for the password. But I cannot see an dialog box for entering a password. Even pressing the Alt and Tab keys to bring the dialog box to the foreground don’t help.
In the rr.log file, I found the following entry:
    Sat May 10 12:27:36 2008 RescueRecovery: Running: C:\Programme\Gemeinsame Dateien\Lenovo\mnd\mapdrv.exe *
Sat May 10 12:27:42 2008 RescueRecovery: No user found to display dialog '2', waiting...
The same problem I have with r&r 4.20
Any hint what I can do to be able to enter the password?
    many thanks in advance

when the magic mouse is not connected it seems to work fine, I usually click the trackpad and the system prompts me for a password - I enter my password and go back to work.
However every time the problem has occurred I have left the computer with the magic mouse connected, when I return I move the magic mouse, the screensaver stops "moving" but I don't see the prompt for my password, it's almost as if the password dialog is behind the screen saver.
    Hope this helps...

  • No password dialog box when screensaver kicks on

I have a macbook pro (retima) laptop.  I'm running OSX 10.7.4 - it's fully up to date.
    Here's my about info:
    MacBook Pro
    Retina, Mid 2012
Processor  2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E2620)
So here's my issue I have the screensaver set to start automatically, and for it to require a password to stop it.
If I have the bluetooth magic mouse connected and I leave my desk for a bit, then (often, but not all the time) when
I return the password dialog does NOT appear, so basically I have a laptop that is running, the screensaver is on and I cannot unlock it..
so my only choice is to do a hard power down.
    This happens quite often.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks in advance

  • Password Dialog

How can I use the password dialog to start an application ? I mean, the procedure to call the dialog first, if user/pass are correct then start the main program.

  • Keychain password dialog box won't quit

Every time I open my computer, I receive dialog boxes asking me to enter my keychain password for various programs. Some of them say they need access to "Local Items" and are asking for the password to that. I type in my computer password, and it rejects the password as incorrect. I also try to close the box or click the "?," but it won't let me do this. I've went in and repaired my Keychain under First Aid to no avail. I took it to an IT department who cleared out my stored passwords in Keychain, but that hasn't stopped the problem either. Sometimes I can get them to go away temporarily, but it never lasts long. Any suggestions?

    Hello birdie.ks,
We've an article that can help quiet your computer's need to unlock the 'Local Items' keychain.

  • Latest Java Update - accidentally dismissing the admin/password dialog box at the end.

I did a Software Update on around April 14 (including this update) and at the END OF THE PROCESS, I was presented with a dialog box with an admin login and password. At this moment, I accidentally hit the ESC key and dismissed the dialog box. Then, I restarted my Mac and hoping that I can repeat the same process again, but however it says there are no more updates. I did a "java -version" and it says it using Update 31.
What was that dialog box requesting the admin/username at the end of the process? Was it affecting anything significant (or something not installed) because I accidentally dismissed it?
(I am using my mac from a "Standard" (not "Adminstrator") account.)
    Kevin.

Download it from the apple site and run the installer that way:
Java for OS X Lion 2012-003
If you didn't give the installer the admin password it didn't install.  So doing an explicit download and installing that way should work.  Of course that too will ask for your admin password.

  • Silent install of Ora9.2+DB: how to avoid (sys, system) password dialog?

    Hi,
I used a modified personal.rsp and dbca.rsp to install Oracle 9.2 personal and a DB on Win2k/XPp, but despite the "-slient" flag, I get a dialog prompting for the sys, system passwords in the end.
How can I avoid this? Are there (undocumented) parameters for dbca.rsp which allow to avoid the dialog?
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi,
Use below command and you no need to pass userid/password. It works for all versions.
    imp \'/ AS SYSDBA\' full=Y CONSTRAINTS=Y FILE=V:\exp_test20090729.dmp

  • Master Password dialog is delayed

In FF 368 when I open I am not interrogated for my MP immediately ... but I'd like to be. Instead, the dialog box prompting me to enter my MP appears at random delays of 30sec to 5min, and unexpectedly so: often I'm entering text or data and end up entering inadvertently into the MP dialog. How can I get FF to ask for my Master Password promptly?
My build is 368 but this occurs in many builds.

    Wow. You nailed it...Whump!
And it seemed a weird behavior to me... like a bug. And sure enough the clever developer of this extension explains:
"This extension was originally created as a workaround for bug #177175....."
