Additional reminder/ alert app

I use my iphone calendar which came with the phone and an app called week cal which integrates perfectly with the calendar. They both integrate with outlook and I find this system works quite well for me. The week cal offers me a layout I find easier to follow than the standard calendar (week to view, colour coding etc). The problem is that I would like to have the ability to set alerts for more than 2 days prior.
I have reports due once a month and i often need to take more than 2 days to do them. I would like to be able to set the alert 3 or 4 days ahead to give me time to follow up on information I need to collect to get the report done. Even better would be to be able to set the reminder/alert for 3 - 4 working days prior to the due date.The extra alert function would need to integrate withmy iphone calendar, week cal and outlook.
I know I could just put in a seperate entry but I want to avoid having to do the extra work and then having to cancel it when that particular report is not required any more.
Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Reminder alerts stopped working

    My reminder alerts have stopped working on my iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.1  The reminders appear on the screen but no sound or vibration happen.

    Hi susanmshelley,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    I understand you are not being alerted by sound or vibration when a reminder shows up on your lock screen. I would suggest taking a look at the attached article and make sure that the sounds are turned on.
    iOS: Understanding sounds, ringtones, and alerts
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5800
    If the sounds are turned on and you are still not receiving the alerts, I suggest looking at the following article for troubleshooting notifications.
    iOS: Understanding notifications
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3576
    Troubleshooting notifications
    Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
    Note: Notifications use Wi-Fi only when a cellular connection is unavailable. Firewalls and proxy servers may affect your ability to receive notifications. For more information, see Unable to use Apple Push Notification service (APNs).
    If you're not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
    Verify that the app supports notifications.
    After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
    Check Settings > Notification Center to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
    Have a great day,
    Joe

  • (Bold 9900 - BBOS 7.1) Is there a way to automatically add reminder alert when flagging a message for follow-up?

    I love the feature in Outlook that lets me flag a message for follow-up and automatically adds a default reminder at the end of the day. Is this something I can configure my Blackberry 9900 to do (running 7.1)?
    As far as I can tell, when I flag something for follow-up, it adds a flag but does NOT add any reminder alerts. If I want to do that, I then need to manually add the reminder and set it (which is a little cumbersome).

    I guess timed message is on the wish list
    However in all my forms I use following scenario to validate all data entry at one time and then submit...
    I use regular button and add code in Click event
    JS example.....
    var errorFlag = 0;
    var errorMsg = "";
    if (validation expression 1) {
         //true/pass
         //no need to change following values
         errorFlag = errorFlag;
         errorMsg = errorMsg;
    }else {
        //false/fail
       //set the flag and message accordingly
        errorFlag = errorFlag + 1;
        errorMsg = errorMsg + "validation message1" + "\n"; //\n for new line with in the message
    if (validation expression 2) {
         //true/pass
         //no need to change following values
         errorFlag = errorFlag;
         errorMsg = errorMsg;
    }else {
        //false/fail
       //set the flag and message accordingly
        errorFlag = errorFlag + 1;
        errorMsg = errorMsg + "validation message2" + "\n"; //\n for new line with in the message
    //finally
    if (errorFlag > 0) {
        //>0 indicates there are one or more errors
        xfa.host.message(""+errorMsg);//display all messages at one time
        exit; //now since there are validation errors you can stop processing further and exit the event
    //add submit code......here....

  • Calendar Reminder Alert Emails Not Received

    1)  I set a calendar, with email reminder alerts set to be sent at various times.
    2)  At the times the emails are supposed to be sent, I receive an reminder message on the my iMac and my iPhone.
    3)  The email reminder alerts are sent at some point after they are scheduled to be sent.
    4)  The email reindeer alerts are never received, but can be found in the Sent mailbox.
    About two years ago, I would receive every email alert on time.  Since then, the problem has become progressively worse.
    Any ideas how I can get this to work properly again?
    Thanks.

    Have you been into "Reminders" and deleted it ?

  • Reminder alerts for Droid 2?

    I just got my Droid 2 a few days ago and have looked everywhere I can think of to set up a reminder alert for text messages. I'm at a loss. Does anyone know how to do this? With every other phone I've had you can set up a reminder alert and even choose how often to be alerted, such as every 2 mins, etc.
    Thanks!

    Yay! That worked, thanks so much

  • Calendar & Reminder Alert.

    Is there anyway the meeting notificatoin recived plays another alert music for when the meeting reminder comes up?

    Hi, the only one I've come across is fortunately a great app, designed well with tons of common sense functionality lacking in the pathetic iOS calendar. Unfortunately it is $3, of the 200 apps I own, only 3 of them aren't free, and the $3 is more than worth it since it is critical functionality as well as a great app design.
    It is called CalAlarm (Calendar Alarm) by DevArt in the app store. It supports syncing with multiple calendars, like from Google, Exchange, Outlook, 'internet' calendars like US holidays - actually the synching is through the iOS iCalendar, but then in CalAlarm you can exclude specific calendars if desired.
    In addition to true repeat alarm until acknowledged (Every minute - developers say Apple iOS prevents user defined like repeat every 5 minutes), the alarms have Snoozes once you acknowledge that include snoozes of 1-3-5-10-15-20-30-45-60-90 minutes and 2h-3h-4h hours not to mention user custom snoozes like whatever you want, any minutes from 1-15 then 5 minutes increments out to hours and days for the snooze, for instance 12 minutes or 1 day 3 hours and 25 minutes snooze just to illustrate functionality, if you mind works that way...
    Alert settings prior to event time are similar and can be customized as described for Snoozes, and you can set alarms for as many as 10 alarms prior to event (Although I believe I saw that Exchange for instance has its own limit of 2 possibly, so limitations may come from type of calendar syncing with) - like 1 day, 12 hours, 6 hours, 45min, 30min, 15 min, custom 12 minutes, 5 minutes, time of event.  Yes, all separate from the Snooze function while acknowledging the alarm.
    Check it out in the app store and their web site. Don't work for them, don't know them, blah blah blah. Enjoy!

  • My apps are invisible, it switches from the iTunes to the Reminder's app. They still work perfectly fine it's just that it's invisible, or at least I can't see it on the screen anymore. The only thing that shows is the name of the app at the bottom.

    This is a pic of what's happening.

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
    If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • Customizable Email Filters w/ Alerts - App Failure!

    Does this make the iPhone almost useless to anyone else? I would expect after the amount of time that the iPhone has been out that the developers would have added some sort of feature to create custom alerts for emails using filters.
    I work for a large corporation and use my phone as a pager to wake me up when I get certain emails or pages.
    I recently purchased an iPhone to use as my work phone only to find that there is no way to do this other than an app like MailTones which requires that you forward your emails through their server which I do not feel comfortable doing. This should be a built in feature!
    Does anyone know if this is going to be added, or if it is even being considered for the future?

    You are correct that I should have checked into it a bit more and there are various ways around it that I can use such as setting alerts to all of the messages in my inbox to wake me up but that will wake me more than I would like.
    There are others in our company using their iPhone as their work phone/pager and it works for them but I guess our group is more attentive to some of the alerts we get. If I wait long enough, these alerts can turn into a real problem and I will get a call from our Network Operations Center. I would simply like to avoid the NOC ever knowing that there is an issue. We like to fix things before they impact users.
    I for for a major news company. We support the application layer of functionality that is behind everything that gets videos, stories, content, etc... to the public and onto the web or TV.
    We have automated monitoring systems that send us alerts which we filter prior to getting them on the iPhone. So even being able to make one folder alert differently from another would be sufficient.
    I'm sad to hear that we do not have any official apple support on this forum. I was in hopes of hearing from a developer or someone of the like...
    Don't get me wrong, I love the iPhone. I have a Pre as my personal phone and I love them both but it just seems that they would have added this feature by now. Also being able to mark all messages as read seems like a elementary feature that should be included.

  • When a reminder alert rings and I acknowledge it or attempt to silent it using the down volume button it won't stop until the alert runs its course. Is there a way to fix this?

    I Set alerts for my daughter's appointments. When the reminder or calendar alert rings it won't let me silence it. i have noticed that some IOS updates seem to correspond with it working/not working. Any helpful info on how to fix it?

    I can't silence my calendar alerts once they start either. I've tried swiping and pressing every place on the phone with no luck. This problem mysteriously comes and goes.  I am using an Outlook 2010-via-gmail calendar on an iphone 5s. What are you using? I sometimes have a feeling it's got something to  do with the gmail side of the calendar..... but I'm a technical heathen so this could mean nothing. Anyone else got any ideas?

  • Problems with Alarm/Alert (app MicrosSalat)

    A few days ago my Nokia Lumia 820 had some issues that ranged from apps closing abbruptly, frozen screen, frozen app (once i opened the app, the phone would freeze and the calibration for the touch screen suddenly wasn't working right) and when I got a call the screen would freeze and I would be unanble to answer the phone.
    Because of that, I switched off my phone and then took out the battery and waited a few minutes before putting the battery back in and starting up my phone. Everything seemed to be working except the alerts for the app Microsalat. This is an app that lets me know when the time comes to pray. The alerts should only be one, but two alerts would go off in tandem. I had even uninstalled the app and the alerts still go off (though without the alarm sounding, it would just pop up at the time of prayer). The app worked fine before this issue happened and there wasn't an update issued for the app (but i did update other apps prior to the original issues the phone had faced).
    Is there a way to fix this double alert/alarm problem?

    Thanks!!! Worked a charm!
    I tried restoring before but never as a new phone!
    Cheers man!! Much appreciated!
