Additional tabs display BING ratherthan Googlewhich is my home page please tell me now to fix this
Previousl each new tab showed my honme page which is the Google search engine, now after the first tab all ensuing tabs show the damned BING search engin which I do not want. I have reset Google as my home page disabled and enabled a abunch of stuff and cannot get this to fix. This is damned irritating.......
edit: removed email address from public view to reduce spam, though it may be too late with search engines archiving it.
Must have been a (complete mystery) setting that caused it. There were no references in about:config to Bing, no applications on my machine running with bing, tab, start, or a host of other keywords I hunted for. If Bing wants to be sure I'll NEVER use them, they just found a way! ;)

With some research I found regedit setting called “TabProcGrowth” that allows tabs to span without re-authenticating with certain browsers. As long as you are accessing your internal server on http:// or https:// then I would expect the normal rules to apply. To see whether some external requests are being blocked, you might try using Firefox's Web Console, Network tab.
You can open the console in the lower part of a tab using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+k
* "3-bar" menu button > Developer > Web Console
* (menu bar) Tools menu > Web Developer > Web Console
Click "Network" on the top bar of the Web Console.
Then use the address bar or a bookmark to launch Confluence in the same tab. Each request made by Firefox should be displayed along with the result. You can click a row for more details.

However, if Confluence is heavily reliant on plugins such as Flash or Java, that could be a factor because plugins are run out-of-process in Firefox. In that case I suggest checking with Confluence for suggestions. -
Running Firefox 4.0 - but when I hit new tab it does not default to my home page, how do I fix?
In the earlier version I had of Firefox 3. something-can't remember now, whenever I opened up a new tab it automatically opened up in my home page "Bing" http://www.bing.com. Now when I open a new tab, it's simply a blank page. How do I get it to open the Bing page automatically whenever I open a new tab?

I just downloaded FF4 and now the "SEARCH" tab located at the center of my home page isn't functional. I uninstalled and reinstalled but the result is the same.I think what I did was right clicked on the toolbar when I went to the tab and properties to find out the name of it. I then opened the extensions and add-ons and found what it was there (I don't remember the extension)., You will find the mess involves the homepage tab you have. Click on your tool bar for customization and put the home page away. This doesn't remove it but it will stop bing from showing up. Instead, my tabs now go to a Google page but I can't put in a homepage. Instead I bookmarked Google to my menu bar and when I open a tab I just click that! Cheaper than a trip to a computer vet.
The only option you will have is to remove google, but if you do, you loose all your goodies. Though I did not try this myself, I fear saving your tabs,bookmarks , etc. will store with it, whatever this bing thing is. Hope this helps -

That issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

fire fox opens with tabs from preveous session not home page in tools under options and tab general I have start up with home page but all tabs from previous session open instead
It is possible that there is a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]

If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

Try resetting your phone by holding down the home and off button until the apple symbol comes up. Then if still doing, restore your phone in itunes from your backup.

I was on an online course website, logged in and working on an assignment. Suddenly the page disappeared and was not on the tabs either. I went to the home page and tried to log back in and it said I was already logged in on another browser window and if I proceeded to log in again the assignment I was working on would be ended and I would receive a zero. I can't locate the browser window that I was signed in on. When opening a new tab, how do I default to my home page?
When I manually open a new tab I always get a blank window. I want the new tab to default to my home page when I open it. IE does this, why not Firefox?
You can do that by using an add-on such as:

When I try to set up Time Machine, there are no back up disks displayed. Therefore, I cannot turn on Time Machine. How can I fix this?
Thanks - let it finish, but zero out data is unnecessary. That option is intended to thoroughly erase previously recorded data so that it cannot be recovered without sophisticated data recovery techniques.
Case sensitive is OK but I suggest you simply select Mac OS X Extended since "case sensitive" may complicate things for you in the future, should it be necessary to restore files to a case-ignorant volume.
Once it finishes, make sure it appears as a selectable option in Time Machine. If it does your problems are solved, but consider using Disk Utility and reformatting it. This time don't worry about zeroing unused space, and select Mac OS X Extended (Journaled). It will only take a few seconds this time.

There aren't any pre-configured options that will let you do this. You're only real option is to try and modify the infoview source code yourself to do this.

Could you tell me how to fix this problem?Backup and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.
