Additional usage charge

I want to bring to your attention that being charged for the additional usage for the internet should get a little bit fair. I understand your rule of charging $10 after reaching the limit of 300GB, but considering that I pay the bill for the extra usage I think I should get some credit for the Gbs that were not used up to the each extra GBs we pay. As an example I have got 51GB for previous month and I have to pay $20 extra. What about getting nicer and fair and do something like giving your customers posibility to use the GBs they already paid the following months(carry over the unused GBs ). I am sure that this can be arranged in your billing programs and that can make us getting the service we pay for.

  • Total Broadband additional usage charges ...

I'm a loyal BT Phone & Broadband customer (have been for 15 years) and I was somewhat shocked upon receiving my latest quarterly bill to notice that my direct debit payments had been bumped up by quite a bit - closer investigation (of this and the previous bill!) revealed that I've been incurring significant additional broadband charges for at least the last 4 months (as I've exceeded the 10 Gb/month limit on Total Broadband 1).
I promptly called BT and got upgraded to the Total Broadband 3 package (300 Gb/month limit) and ended up with a cheaper deal all round than I had before!
This does however leave me about £150 out of pocket and with a slightly bitter taste in my mouth though ...
Granted, it's my problem for not noticing I'd started going over the 10 Gb/month limit early on [my excuse is that with a very busy life I tend to scan the headline figures on the first page of the bill and only investigate if these seem unusual]
Nevertheless, I would have expected BT, in the space of the last 6 months, to:
    a) have the courtesy to notify me more proactively that I'm exceeding the "fair usage" policy limits and/or
    b) Move me up to the next level automatically (seeing as it's ended up cheaper anyway?) and/or
    c) Have somebody call me to suggest that I might want to upgrade to save significant costs ...
Has anybody else had a similar experience ?
I will add though that I'm very happy with BT's service otherwise - just think this particular point merits raising as a matter of principle!

Hello alexm3.  Yes, I have had the same problem.  Although I already had a BT landline, I switched in Sep 2010 to a total broadband package Option 1, (at £7.99 p.m.) thinking 10gb was downloads.  Had an email to my normal aol.com account telling me after the first week that I'd used 7gb.  Took 3 weeks to upgrade to Option 2 with 40gb, still went over the usage, and incurred £50 charge, and this month is £20 extra charge, while waiting to upgrade to Option 3.
I have now been offered Option 3 at £40 p.m. plus line rental of £13.50, plus calls (average £20 p.m.) so look like I am going to be paying over £70 p.m.
I did also find 22 emails last week in my btinternet.com Inbox although I have indicated I only use my old aol.com email address but they cannot use that although BT have been corresponding with me on that one since day 1
Their usage monitor only tells you if you are within or over your usage allowance, not how you've used it!
    Good Luck

  • Broadband usage charges explained

Your broadband usage is the data that you upload and download from the internet. This includes activities such as internet browsing, watching a video online, online gaming, and downloading.
We have a usage policy that covers monthly usage allowances and manages the use of specific applications on the BT network, and is measured on each calendar month (from the first of the month to the end of the month).
More details on our usage policy are available here.
What are BT's Monthly Usage Allowances?
BT offers a range of monthly usage allowance options, so you can choose the product that best suits your needs.
Allowances for broadband products introduced from 1 February 2013:
    Allowances for other broadband products:
    What is broadband usage?
When you access the internet you are uploading and downloading data – your broadband usage.
There are three main factors that contribute to the total amount of usage we measure on your line:
    •The number of devices you're using to access the internet at any one time (for example, computers, laptops, smartphones and tablet computers);
    •The amount of time you're on the internet;
•The kind of things you're doing.
Some activities involve more usage than others. Watching a video, for example, involves downloading loads more data than looking at a simple web page or a sending a short email. The table shows what kind of usage is involved with some common activities:
*these sizes are approximate and can vary.
Our broadband options have different amounts of monthly usage allowance designed to suit different types of broadband users. Read more about monthly usage allowances and our broadband options.
I’ve been charged broadband usage charges, how can I keep an eye on my usage?
Your service won’t be affected if you go  your monthly usage allowance, but you will be notified via email if you reach 80% (if you’re on a 40GB limit product) or 70% (if you’re on a 10GB limit product) of your usage allowance each month, and a further email if you exceed your allowance in a particular month.
We will send emails to your active BT primary email address (e.g. btinternet.com) that was set up when you ordered broadband or an alternative email address that you have given us for the purpose of contacting you.
If you exceed your usage allowance, you'll be charged for additional usage in units of five gigabytes (GB), at £5.30 per 5GB.
To help you keep track of your usage we provide a usage monitor which shows how much of your allowance you have used and how much is remaining, each day. You can access the usage monitor through your online account by clicking the 'View my broadband usage' link in the broadband services section. If you haven't set up an online account then you can register at www.bt.com/mybt.
Click here for help on how to use the broadband usage monitor.
If you're finding your monthly usage allowance inadequate and are regularly paying charges for additional usage, you can upgrade to a product with a higher usage allowance. Upgrade your broadband here.

It should be £5 for 5GB, but unfortunately it's charged in 5GB chunks (so it is effectively £1 a gig)...
    From the Broadband usage policy:

  • Data Usage charges, 5C Verizon FaceTime?

I'm confused since I had thought that FaceTime didn't use data that I would be charged for. But I see that setting has enable cellular data for FaceTime.
Back in March I made a lengthy call to a friend in another state & after awhile switched to FaceTime. I am on Verizon w the More plan w 250 MB data allowance.
I got notice of my bill & it shows a huge overage in data. So I am truing to figure out why. I remembered that lengthy call & my phone shows it as 2 hrs 29 min (442 MB). I guess that must have been the reason, but I was unaware that would use data. Mo before data was 121.19, months before that 80.52, 67.84, 59.04, 107.73
Most of the call was inside where it should have been using my wife. But I also decided to walk outside to show my friend around where I live (we both used to live in CA & now have moved to different states). My wifi doesn't extend much outside--not even to my car & I went out to the front of our long driveway which was definitely out of range of my wifi.
But then after walking around the area & went back inside & most of the call took place inside in range of wifi. So, would it have switched to cellular data when I got out of wifi range & then stayed using cellular data even after I was back inside?
In my usage, I see a call showing 5 min at that time. Wondering if that was before I switched to FaceTime?
Also, after awhile, I decided we didn't need to still be on FaceTime & looked to try to turn it off but didn't see a way to do that.
So I'm really confused how this works?
In addition, I had previously entered the log in info for the wifi at my office. Not too long ago, I noticed that it wasn't connected to the wifi there, so wondering if it lost the log in when I updated iOS? Or why it would forget a previous wifi log in that I should be using all the time?
Also, I do have my iPhone set up w my iPad mini as a mobile hot spot but it is turned off. It sees that when looking for a network, but am I correct in assuming that it since it is turned to off, it won't use it until I turn the function on?

I have the following "Usage Type/Event Description" on my detailed Data Usage Charges screen:
    PAYGO $1.99MB 3G HNDST356
I understand that this is the $1.99/mb usage rate, but is there anyway I can found what this was (mobile web, etc).  I'm trying to get a handle on my daughter's charges and this keeps popping up every month.  Does Verizon charge her line whenever someone sends her a text with data attached?
Thank you for your inquiry. Adding to what was stated, the message from above about PAYGO $1.99MB 3G HNDST356 sounds like its referring to the Backup Assistant. As long as that line is registered on My Verizon, a limited one credit of $1.99 should be reflected on the billing statement once per billing cycle. Please review your billing statement carefully to see if the credit is present. Also, data usage is not based on whether or not a phone was touched within the last couple of days. Its based upon if any data usage was incurred from the beginning of a bill cycle that goes until the end of the bill cycle. In other words, you can use data 3 days after a bill cycle started and then not use any data at all for 2 days afterward. The two days of not using data does not eliminate the 3 days that data was used. Data attachments are not used in text messaging but in picture messaging or email. For example, you can send a picture and attach another picture to that same message for it to go to someone. As long as you have a unlimited texting/picture messaging package on that line, it should not be billed for that message with the attachment.

  • Process to implement register usage charges ?

    Dear Experts,
Can nybdy pls tell tht how this scenario can be handled?
whther it is taken care at Device management level or billing level? if psble.
    How is this process handled?
I want to create a register group with three registers types morning peak ,evening peak and normal usage hour rates where for a single day i want to (according to different usage charges) measure the consumption  for on-peak and off- peak rate types & normal usage?
    e.g
    register 1 morning peak(0600- 1200 hrs)consumption 100 units
register 2 evening peak (1800-2200 Hrs) consumption 200 units
    register 3(1200-1800 & 2200-0600 hrs) consumption 50 units
i want that the consumption accrding to the usage hrs gets stored in different register or is there another way to incorporate this type of situation.
How this gets reflected if i create only one register?if psble.
How is this stored at the register level if for a morning peak, evening peak and normal usage hours?
    Help wud be appreciated.
    Thanx in advance.

    Hi,
it sees as you should check the IS-U-EDM parts of IS-U including RTP (real time pricing). Otherwise it's quite hard to create this example.
As usually IS-U meter reading is just DAILY based, you can have one meter reading a day which is used in billing. So - if you set up three different registers those CAN contain your morning, evening and normal peak. In Billing you will have to take care of that - which will probably not that easy.
Therefore probably please consider using EDM as there ou can have reading values for each quarter of an hour (you also can have values for each hour and so on). I hope that helps a bit.

  • Is there an additional Typekit charge for fonts with Creative Cloud membership?

Is there an additional Typekit charge for fonts with Creative Cloud membership?  I am not clear if these are trial fonts or if there will be a charge for using them permanently in Adobe Illustrator CS6.  Thanks for any assistance.

You don't purchase fonts with Typekit for "permanent use". You're paying a subscription. You either subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud, and as part of the subscription, you can use the fonts as long as you pay your subscription. There is no additional charge. Or, you pay for a subscription to Typekit only.

do you mean internet access ? if so, there are no additional charges. your Touch will either connect to the internet via your local network at home or via a wi-fi hotspot such as at starbucks.

  • Data Usage Charges Skyrocketing

In the past two months I have seen my data usage charges going through the roof and nothing has changed with my usage which is very limited because I always have my phone connected to my home WiFi and at work to work Wifi so I only had 2 gigabytes of data and I didn't have any overages until April and then my phones suddenly has between and 3 and 4 gigabytes but I have not changed anything relative to data usage. I am not on Facebook or any other social media and have a personal laptop and work laptop and so I am not on the web on my phone at all and don't use the GPS or download movies. When I called customer service I had someone who was very helpful and when he looked at the usage he also thought it was odd given previous months and said he was going to run a check and get back to me, but as usual once you hang up with customer service you never hear back. The odd thing was that the day after my billing cycle started I was already to 90% of the monthly bill which is just not correct. I truly believe that Verizon is padding everyone's bill because we cannot refute it since they don't provide the actual websites you went to. However, if I was being subpoenaed verizon would have all that detail for lawyers. My next step is to contact the better business bureau because this is shameless and verizon customers have no recourse and no one at verizon will help. I am stuck with my two year contract, so I think we need to also write our congressmen and women to get them to act on this blatant fleecing of the American public.

I understand your concerns mgratsch and know it's frustrating to have a higher data usage than expected. We can certainly review the usage and determine if its correct. You can send a private message with your name and mobile number and we can discuss the usage in more detail. What phone do you have? Do you have email set up or notifications coming through your phone. All of this can cause data usage also. Do you browse the internet at all or download applications? Some apps may have a bigger data usage than others. Let's figure this out together and just as a reminder, don't forget to change your plan to prevent overages for data http://bit.ly/xdDajD .

  • Does DBMS_CHANGE_NOTIFICATION package needs additional cost/charge?

We have a Oracle licence, it would probably a enterprise licence, in such case, does DBMS_CHANGE_NOTIFICATION package needs additional cost/charge?

I don't think you need a separate license for this. You can always check from bellow link if your feature (option) needs to be licensed separately.

  • International usage charges

I'm just a little confused about how international usage works. If you don't sign up for any kind of plan and take your iPhone (to say India, where I'll be headed), will the phone still work and if so, what charges will apply? I will be using the call and voicemail feature little to none and I won't be getting incoming calls, but what about text messaging and safari? How much will those cost me if I don't agree to any plans? Or will none of it work at all?

    Alice K,
You will want to enable International Roaming with AT&T before you leave to allow you to make/receive calls internationally. AT&T would be your best source for international charges for calls and text messages. You can read the following article for more information about international travel with your iPhone:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1686
International data charges can get fairly expensive. The new iPhone 2.0 software will enable you to turn airplane mode on (which disables cell networks, so you will not receive calls or use the cell data network) but also turn Wi-Fi on, so you can still access local Wi-Fi networks and hotspots. Therefore you can still browse on Safari when you are within range of a Wi-Fi network without being worried about data charges. In this mode, you will not receive calls or missed call notifications, however. You can find out more information about the iPhone 2.0 software by watching this guided tour:
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/guidedtour/
    Hope this helps,

  • Modem--Any additional service charges?

I am slowly entering the 21st century and have my first cell phone, a Nokia 6350.  I downloaded PC Suite and see that I can use my cell phone as a modem.  I am still on dial-up on my home computer (with 26.4 Kbps max speed due to bad phone lines).
The Nokia 6350 works 19 time faster.  This is too good to be true.
I have the most basic subscription possible.  For example test messages are an additional 10¢ each.  But, I have unlimited nights and weekends.
Can I use the Hokia 6350 as a free modem during my free nights and weekends?  Or is there an additional fee?

That depends on whether you use your phone as a modem to ring your existing dial up ISP or you decide to use GPRS.
If you use the phone to dial up your dial up ISP then you will incur a network charge equivalent to a call charge to that dial up number which may be included in your free minutes. If you use GPRS/3G then you may incur a data charge if your mobile package does not already include a data allowance.

  • Mandatory data usage charge

    To whoever it concerns,
After a very rude and unpleasant trip to my local verizon store, I have just found out that in order to get a normal phone-sorry the "feature" phones looks extremely cheap for a bussiness professional- I must pay a mandatory data useage charge of 10$ on top of my already high bill. This is absurd because I never use any "data" anyway on my plan as it stands, so in order to get the phone, which by the way I already owned without this extra charge, I now must pay 10$ for internet that I will never and don't even know how to use. Whoever thought this was a good idea is insane. While this might trick a few innocent people who simply do not notice the charge at first, I can almost guarantee you will see a substantial drop in customers, including myself, my family, and all of my friends.

Just remember to turn off your cellular usage while you're in Wi-Fi areas, because you will continue to accumulate data usage even though you're using WiFi...at least that's what happened to me.

Ans: As I remember I didn't ....But cant say surely...Yes I remember I executed 2/3 times RZ70 but there was some issue regarding the transfer of data thru RFC SLD_UC ...saying program no resistered etc...
    Query:
After the application of the patch is the Url comming up did you check that server node is up.
Ans: Server node is up and running, able to login and work thru SAPGUI and also the urls for java instances e.g, http://server:port/nwa,http://server:port/useradmin,http://server:port/irj are working...ie. I mean able to browse ar see some content inside. but http://server:port/sld gave the error I posted earlier in this message.
    Query:
Plese let me know that have you configured the Local SLD of Central SLD.
Did you addd the Bi system as technical system in the SLD.

  • How is the data usage charged?

I went over my 25MB this month and I am not sure what I did differently to make it increase another 25MB.  Is there somewhere to get a breakdown?  If you go to a website and get a call, you take the phone call and forgot to close out of the web browser, do you get charged?
Sorry if this question has already been posted.  I scanned through the first 3 pages.  Got tired of reading the complaints about the data packages.

As long as you are not browsing from page to page you will not use megabytes.
    Hope this helps!

  • Received account usage charges after changing to unlimited plan?

Received my new bill and noticed that I got a credit for switching plans but then got also billed for minutes over allowance? This is after switching from the 700 shared minutes plan to the More Everything? Just a little confused on that one...
Tried getting into a Live Chat session but that didn't seem to want to work. Any Verizon Rep that maybe can give me some insight on this?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately since you did not mark your post an an "Unanswered Question" a Verizon rep will not respond.
I had that same issue a while back.
What dates were the overages for and what date did you switch the plan.
If you switch within a bill cycle it'll prorate everything.
So if your bill cycle was from Mar. 1st to Mar. 31st and you changed your plan on Mar. 15th the would prorate your usage.
So then from Mar 1st to Mar. 15th you would still be under the allowance and since it is half a month they would give you half the minutes, so 350 minutes.
Based of the info given, I will have to assume that is what the overages are for.
    Good Luck
