we had implemented ECC 6.0 with addon AFS 6.00 in our production system. Now we are planning to upgrade AFS addon 6.4.
can you please tell me the pre requisites and post activities for AFS6.4 addon upgrade.

It is supposed that forward compatibility is avaiable (see this articule about 6.5 compatibility: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/businessone/s-u/sdk 6.5 forward compatibility.pdf), but the truth is that SAP gives issues about compatibility with AddOns for every new SBO release.

ECC 6.0 UPGRADE WITH AFS 6.0

Hi ,
We try to upgrade our R/3 Server to ECC 6.0 , The Upgrade was successfully completed . But iam not able to install the IS ADDON AFS 6.0 after the upgrade . The error shows the ECC DIMP has not to be installed .
Kindly tell me solution for this problem , It is possible to include AFS 6.0 during the upgrade phase , if it is possible , kindly tell me the steps .
Or tell me the solution for this problem .

I want to check my addon compatabilities BEFORE I try to upgrade to Firefox 4 (without checking each and every one manually) How can I do this?

Many people have posted frantic questions about problems downgrading from FF4 to FF3.6, because of incompatabilities with their Addons. I use a LOT of addons. I don't want to check each and every one of them manually for compatability. (And then repeat that in a few weeks, to see what's changed....) And I don't want to try upgrading to FF4 on spec, and then discover I need to downgrade because one or more of the addons I rely on doesn't work.
How can I check the addon compatabilities WITHOUT actually upgrading?

SRM 7.0 upgrade addon issues

I recently updated my ST-PI addon from 2005_1_640 to 2008_1_640 on my SRM system to match the ST-PI level on our SOLMAN system. Now I'm upgrading our SRM system from SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0 and I'm stuck at the addon section of the upgrade. During the extraction phase I get a warning that says version 2008_1_640 is too high for the upgrade (>2005_1_710). I am able to continue past since it's just a warning. Once I get to the configuration phase I'm stopped to resolve the addons. my PI_BASIS is resolved by the addon dvd, but my ST-PI, ST-A/PI, and VIRSANH packages won't resolve. I have the install, upgrade, and supplemental files for ST-PI 2008/700 and 2008/710 as well as the needed packages for the other addons unpacked into EPS/in, but when I choose "Upgrade with Saint package" it doesn't see any of the packages.
Has anyone else had this problem and how was it resolved?

This fixed it for me.
Edit bin/IS_RANGE.LST file to include 2008_1_700.
         Ranges of ADD-ONs which are included in the Export

Reset the upgrade by going back until the first step. Start the upgrade and then run SAPup stop ADDON_CHK to stop the upgrade before the ADDON_CHK to get rid of the error. ONce the check is performed it over writes the file again so at the stop between the extraction and configuration phases make the above change again and it if you have the 2008_1_700 addon in your EPS/in directory the upgrade will continue on and you'll be able to continue on.

if you are using fa addon, you need to upgrade the addon without using the addon upgrade if it is only the fa addon..

As you can see it is looking for SAPKINBC9D. This is not an addon package I selected. The PI_BASIS uses SAPKINBC9A. I checked SEPS (EPS admin) and do not see this. I also tried to search for this file on service.sap.com and do not see it. I have no idea what could be causing this. Please help!

If I remember correctly it was the version of PI_BASIS. I ended up upgrading the following addon's during the upgrade follows:

After the upgrade, I applied the PI_BASIS upgrade and support packs.

AFS Sort - Sequence (table J_3ASORT)

We are in the process of upgrading from SAP 4.5B (AFS 2.5B) to ECC 5 (AFS 5). Table J_3ASORT has been marked as 'obsolete' by SAP and no new/substitute table is mentioned (in the SAP documentation nor notes - that I could find) that will contain data that I can use in its place.
J_3ASORT is used in many of our customer applications to control the sequence of our sizes / dimensions as they are presented on the screen or report.
If I let the screen display in the sequence based on the dimension then we will get (for example):

The dimensions are not in the correct 'size' sequence, but rather they are in the ASCII sort sequence.

Short of creating a new Z table does somebody know of a table that can be used to the same effect of being able to assign a sort sequence to the various dimensions?

         Did you try out this note - Note 856352 - AFS 5.0 upgrade: Wrong values order for grid characteristics. Now in AFS 5.0 the characteristics maintenance is thro ct04. The dimension sort sequence for the relevant grids are now maintained in the following table - J_3APGDI . I guess you will have to populate this table using your dimension and grid relationships.

Safari buggy after upgrade to Mtn Lion

Pages or parts of pages won't load -- especially pics -- and links won't work. Some pages are fine, and it rarely crashes or freezes entirely. Everything works fine in Firefox. Have run Cocktail a few times and no improvement. Are my privacy and addblocking addons a problem? Upgrading to Safari 6.0.2 didn't help.

Plugins can often cause problems, especially of this sort.
It's easy to verify: Just disable those plugins and then reload the pages that are giving you trouble. If the pages then load OK, you have your answer.

COMException "Unexpected error." on InfoStore.Query()

I've inherited an ASP.NET 2.0 application that essentially provides a limited portal to our (hundreds of) Crystal reports. I've been tasked with upgrading as many of the technologies as I can to more current versions, including the .NET framework. We're targeting .NET 4.0, because other systems on our Crystal server can't handle 4.5 yet.
I'm not sure what iterations our Crystal server has gone through, but currently we're running BI Platform 4, Feature Pack 7.
My ASP.NET application (coded in VS2012 Pro update 4) can use either AD or Enterprise authentication and successfully log onto the server. (I can tell because it throws an exception if I pass incorrect credentials.) However, when I attempt an InfoStore.Query(), it throws a COMException with the message "Unexpected error.", no inner exception, HResult of 0x8000FFFF.
The query itself works fine in the query tool. Here's the relevant code:

Fixed Assets Addon is not for Indian Localization. It gets installed but after installation it gives error that its not for India.
But while installation it creates some UDFs and UDOs. So you are getting problem might be because of that. You should first remove all those tables.
And then relogin......

If this message is coming it is stopped.
Check the import logs in SAINT, drill the up to the "red lines".

LDAP/Kerberos issue with DEs

I'm running arch on workstations with network accounts authenticating using Kerberos/LDAP and with home directories stored in AFS. After upgrading a workstation to systemd and ensuring the authentication works, logging into any DE is extremely slow and opening the logout dialog in XFCE.

Logging in via ssh or tty works fine. Window managers (xmonad, i3) work perfectly (i.e., with no delay). DEs (xfce, e17, and kde tested) work but there is a long delay while logging in (and opening the xfce logout dialog). Testing was done by starting staring the WM/DE with startx. Having dbus-launch lines in .xinitrc does not seem to make a difference in terms of speed for xmonad and i3, and the DEs were started without those lines. LightDM also takes a long time to display the greeter after the xserver has started and the cursor appears. The issue effects both network users and local users.
http://mindref.blogspot.com/2011/02/dbu … -ldap.html describes this issue and placing nscd before dbus in the daemons array in rc.conf resolved it, but adding "Requires=nscd.service" and "After=nscd.service" to dbus.service does not resolve the issue. Manually (with systemctl) stopping and starting nscd and dbus in the proper order after boot also does not resolve the issue.
Anyone have any ideas? My guess is that it has something to do with systemd/dbus/polkit because I can't think of anything else relevant that a DE environment would be doing but a WM/ssh session/tty session wouldn't be, but I haven't been able to trace the issue further.

We have learned that the cause, or at least part of the cause, is due to an issue where workstations that have a special character in the machine name have trouble joining the domain and therefore trouble getting or renewing a Kerberos ticket. In our case, a hyphen in the machine name seemed to be causing the problem. We have not had a case where the issue occurred, then we renamed the machine without using special characters, and then the issue occurred again. I don't think that we have completely solved the issue, but we have made progress.

UPGRADE ECC 6.0 with AFS 6.3 from R/3 4.7

We are now preparing the upgrade of our R/3 server to ECC 6.0 with
AFS . As per the plan and SAP guide for upgrade we started the prepare
phase with upgrade master for ERP 6.0 . But in the initial stage i saw
the page of prepare it showing all the induatry specific components
like ECC DIMP ,IS_OIL etc . But we want to use AFS 6.3 . So if i
continue the installation all the industry specific addon installed .
So why because of the conflict iam should not apply AFS into our
server .
So kindly tell me how can i remove ECC DIMP like industry components
from the prepare phase .

I upgraded to latest firefox beta 5, it broke my tab related addons, i went back to 4, and they're still broke. How do I fix this?

The following addons appear to have been permanently corrupted by upgrading to firefox beta 5:
Too Many Tabs (TMT)
Session Manager
Tab Utilities
I had others, but have been disabled since before the upgrade.
The problems:
I can't scroll through either webpages or through tabs (that may be an addon feature), the display looks way off, like the resolution inside the window is smaller (not sure how to describe), the options window from the tools menu gave a blank firefox brown window w/ OK/Cancel buttons, the addons/extension window became a tab I couldn't close, and clicking on the Feedback under Help menu did nothing - I had to go to Help>Restart w/ addons disabled to make it work.
I'm running:
Win XP
4gb RAM
3.2ghz dual core
ATI 4200 integrated graphics
Uptime = ~6.5hrs
What I did:
I installed latest beta (today). Problems arose (see details). I uninstalled beta. Installed previous beta. Problems continued. Uninstalled beta. Problems continued. Uninstalled version 4. Reinstalled and problems continued.

It sounds to me like there are two separate processes being intertwined above:
1. Setting up your daughter's MacBook with identifying info; e.g., Apple ID for the user account on that machine.
2. Transferring the iTunes library (a very different operation).
Have you used Apple's Migration Assistant to move your daughter's information from her old machine to the MacBook? That would have avoided this whole issue.
If not, either start the process over and use Migration Assistant, or try to more carefully and precisely define exactly what you did to accomplish this transition. You said, for example, "there was already an Apple ID assigned to this computer." That statement almost certainly did not originate with iTunes.
