Address and Number not matching?

I moved in to a brand new house on 25/05 and was given an install date for my phone line of 07/06 by BT. I had originally signed up to Sky but they had all sorts of issues with our address and eventually admitted with days to go that they had no plans of installing a line, so I duly cancelled the order and registered for BT. I am beginning to think that the issues we are experiencing with BT are the same ones which made me cancel the Sky order.
My boyfriend phoned BT on the 7th after no-one turned up and was advised that there were some issues with our line but the message was and has continued to be somewhat fuzzy. We keep getting delays for ordering broadband and I've finally been told that it's due to the address and line not matching. I've been given a date of 30/06 for this to be looked at but not idea of whether anything will actually happen or if the date will just be extended. Can anyone tell me exactly what this problem is and how it is rectified?
Our house is one of the first ones in the development with a different postcode and we've had issues with other companies thinking that we're also under the development postcode. Both driving licences came back with the wrong postcode after I wrote the correct one on and our mortgage provider couldn't provide us with insurance because their database was wrong. The post office site is one of the only places which has the correct postcode. I've tried going through a dummy order on the BT site and our house number comes up if I key in the wrong postcode but not the right one.
Will I have any issues later on if I just tell BT to change the postcode on our account? I fully believe that this will solve the problem for now but obviously I don't want to cause further complications.

If your in a new house then your local authority may need to register your address. You can check if your on the Royal Mail Data base by going here http://www.royalmail.com/postcode-finder . If it can't find your address then is likely that your not currently in the database.

Another indicator is if you are recieving any post.
BT probably obtain the address from the Royal Mail's database along with other organisations like the DVLA

If your brother's iPad is using your Apple ID and phone number, and you want to remove this association, you can reset your Apple ID password. See this link for more information:

A message saying "ethernet has a self assigned IP address and will not connect to the internet" comes up whenever I plug the cable in. Everyone's computers work except for mine work in the house and I have tried different cords and connecting sites.
Please help

Open System Preferences/Network
Select the Location you use at home
You may need to click the Padlock bottom left at this point if it's locked, enter the admin password to unlock
In the left hand column drag the Ethernet connection to the top of the list and remove any you don't use
Click the Advanced button bottom right
Click the TCP/IP Tab
Set Configure IPv4 to Using DHCP
Click OK bottom right and you should see the Router IP number appear and a unique but similar one for your Mac
Click Ok then click Apply and close the Panel

Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.

First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly.

I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself.

Hi Steven,
the database kernel checks with every read the header trailer. If it got a mismatch during read the error message you got is logged.
The same checkes will be executed when you create a backup. You told us that the backup could be executed without any errors and that the system where you created the backup is ok as well -> you executed a Check data?
Now everything looks like the error is in the backup and happened during writies to the external backup medium. Or the backup is ok and then the error happens during read from the external medium.
To get closer to the reason where the problem is located I need to have some more information.
1. You did the restore several times?
2. Did the bad Data Page shappens always on the same page -> Check knldiag.err
3. Did you do your backup on tape?
4. Did you try to create a backup into a file?
5. Does the restore from file got the error as well?

I can't promise this is going to work, but you can give it a try.
1. In iTunes, select your Ipod under Devices.
2. In the Music tab, clear the Display album artwork on your iPod, and then click Apply.
3. Reselect the check box and click Apply.
This worked for me when the artwork stopped displaying.

Apple ID has my old email address. It will not allow me to change the address and will not accept my password or ID questions. I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.1. I also have an Apple ID that works with iTunes and would like to keep it as my primary.

To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account. To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

If you updated your existing account then try logging out of it on the iPad by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and then log back in and see if that 'refreshes' the account on the iPad. If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can download updates to its apps.

I have no longer been able to connect to the internet as aiport continueously tells me that "airport has selfassigned ip address and will not be able to connect to the internet.

Up until about a week ago I have not had a single internet connectivity problem. These steps often sort out this problem...
System Preferences > Network
Select the AirPort from the left hand side
Click on the Locations combo box and select Edit Locations...
Click on + to add a new location, call it "Home" (or anything else you prefer)
Click on Advanced
Select the AirPort tab and enter your network name
Select TCP/IP tab.
Configure IPv4 Using DHCP
Now click on Renew DHCP Lease. After a few seconds you should get an IP address (probably 192.168.x.x)
Click on Proxies tab.
Select Auto Proxy Discovery and Use Passive FTP
Click on OK and Apply, etc.

Easy fix... it's a refresh issue. Sign out and back in with changed name.
