Address bar disappears in browser after scroll

I was looking at an iPhone 4S at the Verizon store, and was reading a very long webpage article about the phone. When I got to the bottom, I noticed that the URL bar was gone, and it took me over 10 swipes to get back up to it. This is really a pain in the butt and I couldn't figure out how to get the bar back. How do I do that? Android is really easy in that it scrolls really quickly and only takes me one swipe, but iPhone slows down fast and I have to keep swiping.

Congratulations, your statement is correct.
As for the question hidden in there, swipe up too the top of the page, and slide it a little bit more and the address bar appears. Too my knowledge there's no setting for it.
If you don't like it, don't buy it.

  • A gap of 1 row below address bar in firefox browser after I installed Google Toolbar. Unistalling both and then installing just firefox hasn't helped. Any solutions?

    I am not able to remove the 1-inch gap which came just after installing google toolbar. After that, I uninstalled Google Toolbar and Firefox respectively and then again, installed Firefox alone but the gap of 1-inch (1 row) remains just below the address bar of the browser. How to remove it?

    Hi Danieldesira,
    Thanks for the solution, it worked!!! I disabled extensions one by one except Google Toolbar. I observed that the gap was removed only after removing Norton Toolbar 5.6 version. For now, I have removed the toolbar of Norton but it seems necessary for security purpose. Can we keep it on and still hide since in the empty row it generates in Firefox is not showing a single button or anything else.
    Thanks.

  • Address bar disappears

    After I installed iOS 8 on my iPad my address bar disappears when I'm on the Safari page. Any idea how to keep that from happening?   It shows back up once I start scrolling down similar to what the iPhone does but it's rather annoying. Also when I use the bookmark tab to click on a new web address it no longer disappears automatically, I have to manually close it again any idea how that works?

    If you want the desktop version try this.
    “View the desktop version of a site. If you want to see the full desktop version of a site instead of the mobile version, tap the search field, pull down the display of your favorites, then tap Request Desktop Site.”

  • Search the Web box to the right of my address bar disappeared, how do I get it back?

    The "Search the Web box to the right of my address bar disappeared. How do I get it back?

    It is gone in the new version of Safari and the Safari in Mountain Lion. You cannot get it back.
    Search is now done inside the adress bar, so you did not lose the search functionally. The location has changed.

  • Why the address bar disappeared?

    The address bar disappeared in Safari's web brower. I goto "view", chose either "show address bar" or "hide address bar", but couldn't solve the problem. Would any one know how to get the bar appear? Thank you!

    I came across the same problem where I can't do anything in "Customize Address bar" option window.
    If "Customize Address Bar" doesn't change anything, it's likely you have the whole toolbar hidden, such that customizing it won't make any visible difference.
    Try this: View > Show Toolbar

    Hi Jordyn. I'm assuming you're using Safari. Open it. On the top bar click on View > Customize Toolbar. You should see the address bar there and simply drag it where you want to place it in Safari. Hope this helps.

  • UserId & Password in the address bar of the browser

    The address bar of the web browser running a form shows the user id and the password? How to hide them?

    If you don't specify a username and password on the URL, the user has to provide one. This one is not shown in the address bar. E.g. you can start a form like this:
    http://server:8888/forms90/f90servlet?form=logon.fmx
    and the user will be prompted for a username and password.
    You can also call the form like this to automatically log in:
    http://server:8888/forms90/f90servlet?form=logon.fmx&userid=un/pw@db
    but the un/pw are shown in the address bar.

  • Why doesn't the address bar and tabs work after opening a PDF?

    I am using Firefox 3.6.16 and windows 7. When I open a PDF file using adobe reader in Firefox the address bar becomes inoperable for any other tabs I have open or open subsequently. This occurs until the tab the pdf file is open on is closed. I tried upgrading to Firefox 4 but apparently the problem is amplified in that as once a PDF file is opened even if you close the tab its on nothing works until you restart Firefox. I am using adobe reader X but had the same issue with 9. Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Address bar disappearing

    I recently had to reinstall Safari because it was crashing every time I opened it. I think maybe something was wrong with my preferences file.
    Now that I've installed it from scratch (version 5.0.3), I cannot make the address bar stay visible. When I open a new window, it always opens without the address bar visible, and I have to go to View > Show Toolbar to make it appear again. I've looked in the preferences but I can't see any option to make the default behaviour to have the address bar visible. I've also tried right-clicking the address bar and choosing "Keep Item Visible" but when I open a new window, the address bar is gone again.
    Am I missing something very obvious? If anyone knows how to make address bar visible by default, I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    From your Safari menu bar click View / Customize Toolbar. Drag up the default bar straight up to the address bar.

  • JDialog disappears behind Browser after sevearal seconds

    Hi!
    I found a strange behaviour I can't explain, perhaps you have an idea:
    I use an Applet for printing. The Applet asks the user to put the right paper into the printer by using a JDialog created using
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "someMassage", "someTitle", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MASSAGE)
    the Dialog appears correctly and is modal, but sometimes it disappears and the browser window (Internet Explorer 6) seems to hang (because of the modal dialog). The only solution is, to find the Dialog by pressing "Alt+Tab".
    When I change the code slightly to
    JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(myApplet, "someMassage", "someTitle", JOptionPane.INFORMATION_MASSAGE)
    (where "myApplet" is the object of my Applet)
    it seems to work.
    Any ideas why?
    Thanks a lot!

    I don't think that you can fix it.
    Create your own MessageDialogClass, this is the best solution
    Here is an example how to create your dialog
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import javax.swing.*;
    public class MyMessageDialog extends JDialog implements ActionListener
         private Color myColor = null;
         public MyMessageDialog(Frame owner, String message)
              /* if removed super(owner), you'll have the same problem*/
              super(owner);
              JLabel lab = new JLabel(message);
              JButton close = new JButton("close");
              close.addActionListener(this);
              JPanel up = new JPanel();
              JPanel down = new JPanel();
              up.setLayout(new FlowLayout());
              down.setLayout(new FlowLayout());
              up.add(lab);
              down.add(close);
              getContentPane().add(up, BorderLayout.NORTH);
              getContentPane().add(down, BorderLayout.SOUTH);
              setModal(true);
         public void showDialog()
              setLocation(300,200);
              pack();
              setVisible(true);
         public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae)
              dispose();
    In your main class (from where you call the dialog), add the following code :
    MyMessageDialog obj = new MyMessageDialog(this, "Some message");
    obj.showDialog();

    no address/url box at all!

    Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
    * If items are missing then open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize"
    * If a missing item is in the toolbar palette then drag it back from the Customize window on the toolbar
    * If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up.
