Address bar redirects to another site..?

in the address bar where you type in the "http//"-address i usually just type like: "google" and firefox automatically adds the "http//" and ".com/.se/.net" prefix and domain.
But, recently i have installed a software for downloading torrent-like files... and now when i write (in the address-bar) only "google" firefox just takes me to the site:
"http://www.toggle.com/sv/index.php?rvs=hompaggoogle"
this is really frustrating since i'm used to just write the site name, and normally don't have to type in the domain name. But now i have to type "google.com" instead of just "google" as before.
please someone help me... is it just a setting i have overlooked or might it even be a malware/spyware/virus??? :(

Facebook redirecting to another site.

I'm getting redirected to another website from Facebook. Malware problem? My MacBook Pro is about a year old and software is updated. Not sure how to deal with malware on a Mac.

When using the google search button my queries are always redirected to another site, and not google as indicated as my preferred search engine.

I have to open up an Internet Explorer browser when I try to to a search for anything. Even though I've selected google as my default search engine, I still get redirected to some random site. It's useless. I would like to use Firefox all the time, but I cannot do so.

Redirecting to another site

Hi,
sorry for my bad english but I'm german and didn't found a other forum.
I was changing from one site to another site as a strange website wrote that my flash player is to old and I have to update it.
In the same moment as the website was loaded, a download was started.
Could it be that the site was a kind of a "fake"?

After a search I click on the website I want and I get redirected onto another site

Redirect to another site in business catalyst

Hello - I have a site that I would like to point my domain name to within business catalyst . Not sure how to do this without creating an issue with my partner site. So when people enter in www.mysite.com I want the other site to come up - not the site that has that domain name. So does anyone know how to do a redirect within business catalyst without messing up your partner site?

In address bar, my banking site now shows up with grey padlock, it's always been green before, why?

Padlock at address bar for my banking site, Wells Fargo, used to be green, now it is grey.
In chrome and internet explorer it is green. Is this a problem with firefox or is website been re directed somehow? (I have firefox 25.1 on dell inspiron 15 laptop running win8.1 64bit)
Also, since ver 24, firefox sometimes loads what appears to html code (text only), I have to refresh to get the picturesetc..
Also, on https sites when i enter and submit info, I get an error message as follows: An error occurred during a connection to startpage.com. SSL received a record with an incorrect Message Authentication Code. (Error code: ssl_error_bad_mac_read)

In google searches, selecting the advertised links do not load the page I have to copy the link into the address bar to load, how can this be fixed?

When I select one of the advertised links in a google search, the tab flashes and looks likes it's loading but nothing happens. If I copy/paste the link into the address bar it works OK. It also works correctly using IE.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Forms act as address bars

While posting in forums I drag and drop text within that ''form''.
An error window pops up stating, "That is not a valid URL."
I click ok and move on, thinking it's a bug on their end.
Today I did the same thing in another forum. I dragged the word, ''settings'' within that field, but this time, a webpage opened up, settings.com and I freaked!!
Something is causing all open forms to be treated as if they were address bars.
I thought I'd post here first, just in case it's a know bug, but now I'm off to scan my system, just in case it's a bug on my end.

Address of the page in address bar

hi !
when one page is submitted to another page the name of the next page is shown on the address bar of the browser and i don't want it to happen so.
actually i want that when the next page is being downloaded then the address of that page is not shown in the address bar and i would be able to show a dummy address of that page in address bar.
coz in my site it is very essential that user doesn't know the address of the pages other then the login page.
but i don't have the idea to do this can anybody help me in this regard.

no i just want to hide the address of my web page from the user and trick him by showing him a dummy addres,which if in future he uses to see the page then he cann't see it,because the address shown to him was dummy.

I cannot get rid of the history in my address bar.

Whenever I click the down arrow on the address bar a list of sites appears. I can not delete them. If I try hovering my mouse over them and pressing delete on the keyboard they come back the next time I hit the down arrow. They also won't go away when I clear history.

The same problem has been dogging me for a couple of months and I think I may have the solution. The address bar auto-complete includes addresses from you bookmarks. If the one you delete is there because it was bookmarked at some time in the past, you won't be able to delete it from the address bar directly. Go to Bookmarks/Organize and search for the offending site address. Edit it or delete it from there and it should fix the problem. It may be in the "Most Visited" section of the bookmarks.

I'm not sure if this is a Firefox issue, but in the last week or so, whenever I do a search on Google or Bing, when I click on one of the results, I get redirected to a site like Tazinga!, instead of taking me to my destination.

For example, I did a search on Google for :
"resume have summary and objective - Google Search"
It returned several options. I clicked on :
"Summary and Objective statements | Magic Pot of Jobs (http://www.magicpotofjobs.com/2005/07/30/summary-and-objective-statements/)
And instead ended up at:
