Address book and groups on N97?

Do anyone know how I can find out which groups a person in the address book is a member of in the N97? In older Nokia phones, that was displayed along with all the other information when I opened an entry in the address book. On the N97 this is not so.
The only solution I've found so far that even comes close is to go to the group list, open a group, select a member, and then I can see which other groups that member belongs to. This isn't really good enough, since I then first need to know atleast one group that the person is a member of before I can even do this. Also, it's very logical, or easy to use when I'm in the address book list.

There was another thread on this, and I posted incorrect advice on it, but now I can't find the thread. Someone pointed out my error, but it was so late at night when I saw it, I didn't respond at the time - so whoever you were - yes, you were right!
Yes, I agree with you, doesn't seem to work as well as on, for example, my old N80.
I haven't found a solution either.
Not that that helps you, of course, but at least you know you are not missing something - or conversely, several of us are missing something!

Address Book and Groups vanished with Mavericks download. Is there a way to get them back?

Downloading Mavericks caused my Address Book and all associated email Groups to vanish along with all Bookmarks. Does anyone know of a way to get them back? I wish I had backups of these items, but it seems to me that the wise and sophisticated designers of Mavericks could have provided for incorporating existing data.
My printer which had been functioning perfectly under Mountain Lion suddenly showed up as disconnected. By good luck a download of new drivers from HP allowed me to print again.
I am annoyed that Apple did not make Mavericks seamlessly integrate existing data durng the download.
Oh well, it is what it is, so I'd be grateful for any ideas (other than beating me up because I don't have backups - I've already smacked myself around about that!)

Yes the iCloud seems to be enabled but I don't find a backup for the missing items, or perhaps I don't know how to access it. I haven't been able to find a way to open the backup files.

Sharing Address Book (and groups) With Others

I know there is a way to share address book with others through mac.com, but I'm wondering if there is a way to do it without mac.com ...

Yes, there are quite a few other options. I developed a solution for this called Address Book and Calendar Server (http://www.addressbookserver.com). There seems to be also an option to use Google etc.
PS: I am the developer of AddressBookServer.com and naturally biased towards it.

In the "address book" you can create "group" of peoples, those groups can be "smart group".
In the dictionary of "address book" you can "delete, creat, add persons to a group".
- first question: I try to creat a group using : Make group but it doesn't work, how to make a new group with an specific name ?
- second question : I haven’t find a way to create a "smart group" do you know if it's possible ?

This will make a new Address Book group:

The *save addressbook* command simply saves all the changes you make within your script so that they are immediately visible. Without that in this case, you would not see Group 11 show up in your _Group panel_ for a few seconds after running the script.
Unfortunately, there is no way to create or modify a Smart Group via AppleScript.

Lync 2013 Address Book and Group Expansion

Hello Everyone,
We have just recently published our Lync 2013 through reverse proxy (TMG).
The following links dialin.schs.sharjah.ae and meet.schs.sharjah.ae are viewable externally. However when we try to browse

https://lyncs.schs.sharjah.ae/GroupExpansion/service.svc I get a 403 Forbidden Access Error
But when I try to browse the sites internally Group Expansions works and for Abs I get the same error. Is there any way on how to resolve this issue

I'd say TMG issue here. What you should be getting is a prompt for Authentication (from external)
There are a few points to consider..
On the Web Publish Rule - To Tab make sure:-
- that the rule applies to the external web services FQDN (as in Topology builder)
- that the internal site name is the Front End Pool FQDN
- that the "Forward the original host header.." is checked
- that the "Requests appear to come from the Forefront TMG.." is selected
on the Public Name tab add:-
- the meet URL
- the Dialin URL
- the External Web Services URL
- the Lyncdiscover URL
On the Authentication Delegation tab make sure that you select "No Delegation, but client may authenticate directly"
and on the Bridging tab make sure of the port redirects 80 to 8080 and 443 to 4443
On the Listener check the following:-
- Authentication tab set to "No Authentication"
One final comment about TMG is that often even after publishing a rule you may find that it hasn't synced. Once you apply a rule in TMG ALWAYS go to the
Monitoring option and check the status. Don't even bother testing your rule until it says "Synced"

Uwc address book problems (groups)

I downloaded and installed communications suite 5. As I was playing around with it (trying to get a better handle on the changes from what we have today), I discovered an oddity with the address book and groups in the "cooperate directory". I wonder if anyone else has noticed this as well as if anyone knows of any patches for commsuite 5.
Details:
when I expend a group from from the cooperate directory, the members do not appear (though they do appear in a group I manually assemble in my personal address book). The little icon simply just changes directions no matter if members appear when the group name is clicked on or not.
Another oddity is that if people are associated with groups (in the directory) via "mgrpRFC822MailMember" attributes, they also do not show up as members of the group (when the group name is clicked on). Though, members which are associated via "uniqueMember" do appear in the member list.
This is a schema 1 directory which works well with our. I am unsure if these are incompatibilities with schema 1 vs schema 2 or if these are bugs in the product. Anyone have any insight?

report? How would I go about reading the bug report?Correct. As for reading the bug report itself I don't think you can read this from outside of Sun. I read through it myself and it definitely reads as the same issue, in this case though it affects 6.2 and is fixed in the next point releases:
125813-01 (messaging server)
125819-01 (uwc)
I recommend if you have a support contract that you log a support case via http://www.sun.com/service/online/ That way when the patches for 6.3 come out you will get them first.

patches for Comm suite 5). It is possible we are at
the same patch level?There aren't any patches yet available - so if you are running the GA release (and there is no reason to think you are not, then chances are you are running the same patch level).

Address Book and Mail - Using Groups for e-mail

I've noticed something strange about Mail and Address Book in Tiger:
I created a new Group in Address Book. The Group contains people who are involved in a project. I have names, home addresses and phone numbers for eveyone, but a few people do not have e-mail. When a try using this Group to send out an e-mail message, Mail warns me that John Smith does not appear to have a valid e-mail address. I can't send the message unless I select only those in the group who have e-mail addresses and only send to them. This is a pain.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug in Tiger's Address Book and Mail.app? How can I get around this? I have several Groups like this that contain entries with no e-mail.

It's not a bug in Address Book, it's a limitation. Your only way to get around that is to either remove those from the group, or give them all the same email address; i.e., send those to you so you are reminded that they didn't get the email and you have to notify them some other way.
And of course, when sending to more than one person, never put the recipients in the To or CC field; they should always go in the BCC field.

Address Book Smart Groups and Custom Fields

Anyone have issues syncing Smart Groups in Address Book? Seems like an awful waste of resources if we cannot keep that synced between MobileMe, our Mac/PC and iPhone.
Also, same issue with custom fields I've created for certain contacts. For example, I've created hours of operation for certain businesses. These fields sync into my contacts in MobileMe but it's not pushed to my iPhone. Again, such a waste to have information that cannot be maintained.

How many in the group? Some ISP's have a restriction on that. Check with your ISP.

Problems synching iPhone 3Gs with Address Book and Calender

I have an iPhone 3Gs and have begun to notice that information is not being synched between Calender and the phone and Address Book and the phone. I now also have duplicate contacts for all contacts that were in my orginal iPhone before I upgraded. I suspect it has something to do with mobileme (which I don't subscribe to) and I have tried all the various synch options in iTunes. I know people have been having the problem and have solved theirs with the help of mobileme. How can I solve it without subscribing?

I lost all my contacts (today 23rd Mat 2011) on my 3G iPhone and the Address Book on my Mac Pro also.
The contacts in my MS Outlook were intact I run Outlook:Mac 2011.
They have only just fixed the issue with the Calendar in this version 2 weeks ago an MS issue.
I plugged in the iPhone last night to charge and synch and this morming the phone had no contacts and I had lost all the address Book I had some group headings (greyed out)
It's almost like a plot to get Outlook users frustrated and make them switch but, Outlook is too good.

I have upgraded to OS Mavericks.
I'm seeking to use the groups in my Address Book to easily email multiple address.
How to do this in one "double click," rather than having to enter each address individually?

I just figured it out. Go to Address Panel under Window, your address book including groups with names and email addresses will appear. Click on the contacts you want to send and click "To:" on the upper left corner, an email with those recipeents will appear!
