Address book gone walkies from - HP LaserJet M3027 MFP Series

Easy now.
I've a HP LaserJet M3027 MFP Series printer.  Been working fine for ages no problems.
Today though the address book appears to be empty when trying to access it from the printers display panel.
When I log on to the printers GUI and go into the digital sending address book all the email addesses are there.
Any help is appreciated.

  • Moving Mail, Address Book and Keychains from Old Computer to New Computer

My issue: Moving mail, address book and keychains from Panther (old machine) to Leopard (new machine). Old machine (500mh G4 power pc) will not connect directly via firewire to new machine (iMac intel). So, I have to move the files manually via a firewire hard drive.
I am looking for a document that will tell me exactly which files to move. Can someone please help me find this document? Thank you. Dale
P.S. I have no issues with installing Leopard. I only need to move the mail, address book and keychains from old to new machine. No .mac account is available.

for address book: go to your old mac, launch ab, and go to file>export and export your contacts as vcards, select all cards before that, then bring that export file to the new mac, and launch ab there, then go to file>import as vcards and you should be set as far as contacts are, but not as far as groups if you have extensive groups. that would be the safe option. the other option is to go to homefolder/library/application support/address book and move that folder to the new mac. the only question i have is... is the database structure and files the same between panther and leopard, which is why i suggest the first option of import/export of vcards.
for mail, in your old panther go to homefolder/library/mail and move that mail folder to the new mac. make a copy of that folder, then move one copy to the same location in the new mac.
for keychain, in your old panther go to homefolder/library/keychain, you want to bring the file that is in that folder to your new mac. make a copy of that folder, then move one copy to the same location in the new mac.
once that is done, you may have to do some more steps with mail, once you launch mail, such as importing mailboxes. let me know if that is the case.
    hope this helps

  • Address Book gone, and erased from iphone

After an computer update, I had to restart my computer. My iphone was plugged in at the time. When it restarted, I looked at my phone and all the contacts were gone. After checking my address book on the computer, that was erased as well. Is there anything i can do to get my contacts back?

Hi Rich, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Ouch!
Try this for starters... no iPhone plugged in of cure...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Reboot when it completes.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

  • Address Book Gone From IPhone

i had a trial subscription to Mobile Me. Last night I decided not to go ahead and join. I deleted my Mobile Me account as prompted. Today all my contacts on my phone are gone. I recently backed up my phone on my Macbook Pro so I hoping they are still there.
Did deleting my Mobile Me account cause my contacts to disappear? When I sync my phone to my Macbook am I risking losing my contacts on my computer as well?

Have you looked in your address book on your computer to see if your contacts are there? If you were syncing your contacts with just mobileme over the air, well yes when you deleted your account they would disappear.

  • Why is contact sync from iphone or ipad to local iMac address book gone?

An option for syncing contacts from iphone or ipad to iMac seems to be gone.  From searching other posts on this topic, I see where contact sync is now "through iCloud" but is this the EXCLUSIVE choice for syncing contacts?  In other words, there is no longer any sync of contacts NOT through iCloud; I cannot sync contacts from my iPhone to my iMac without it all being stored in the cloud.
This is absurd.  My iCloud was hacked (not a password issue on my iMac or any local trojan/etc there are support threads about this) and tons of spam sent to my contacts when I used to sync through the cloud.  I turned off iCloud sync for contacts and opted instead to sync from phone to mac and from iPad to mac and this was working just fine, keeping me nice and updated every day no matter where I modified any contacts.
Now it seems that is no longer possible.  Is this by design?  Why on earth was this removed?  Is it a "feature" of these new products to remove working sync methods and force everything through the cloud??

The ability to sync contacts, calendar and browser bookmarks directly from a Mac running Mavericks to an IOS device via USB or WiFi has indeed been removed. Synching through iCloud, Exchange, WebDAV or a similar cloud service is the only option now. You can comment to Apple in this issue via their feedback page, if you wish:

  • Address Book Server - access from WAN

I can access my Address Book Server using the server's LAN IP address but not its domain name.
I have set up a global Address Book using the technique suggested in this thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/10571482#10571482 which works well. I have a couple of users set up who can see changes the other user makes to the Global Address Book.
The Global Address Book is accessed at my OS X Server's LAN address, 192.168.1.1 with the details as stated in the above thread.
I should (and want to) be able to access the Global Address Book from outside my LAN using the OS X Server's fully qualified domain name, myserver.mydomain.tld. But it doesn't. The client (10.7) Address Book fails to access. The domain address is correctly mapped to the server and works for other services such as iChat. Router ports are (obviously) open.
So I can set up a client Address book using 192.168.1.1:8800/principals/groups/abglobal/ but not myserver.mydomain.tld:8800/principals/groups/abglobal/ nor over port 8843 & SSL.
    Any clues?
    Thanks!

    Yahoo might...
I believe that for different email service providers, the method to access the address-book would be different. Can anybody leads to any of the service providers??
It likely would be, if it's supported at all. Ask the support department of your service provider.

  • Importing Contacts to Address Book... from e-mail accounts!

I have been a hotmail user for a long time, and basically all my contacts or on my hotmail account. But am moving on, and i am using my gmail account now through apple's Mail. so i would like to import my contacts from hotmail to Apple's Address Book...
    any ideas?
    Merci:)

    Dear noanoa,
yes, it is possible, but not using Apple.Mail. You might wish to give AB Transfer a try:
    http://www.turingart.com/abtlan_en.htm
While the app imports and exports various formats, it is also able to scan Apple.Mail's folders regarding TO, FROM, CC and BCC addreses.
Look at the 'Data Sources' tab and find the 'Import from Apple.Mail' section. Click on 'Choose' and choose a mailbox to scan. Finally, select which types of addresses you are interested in.
The scan process is quite fast: The app scans roughly 200 emails per second on a CoreDuo iMac.
    Kind regards

  • Importing address book and emails from a PC to a Mac

I would like to get my address book contents from Outlook Express into my Mac Pro's Mail address book.
Is there some easy way to do this? I'm on OSX 1.5.2.
Also, is it possible to copy over my sent items folder from Outlook Express into the Mac?
I have a lot of saved emails in OE that I will need to have access to from the Mac, and I would also like to avoid having to manually redo my entire address book.
Are Safari and Mail the best apps to use on a Mac for email and internet, or should I install something else?
Should I just forget the whole thing and install Win XP on the Mac so that I can use my OE stuff?
Thanks a lot for any advice.

I had no problems by installing Thunderbird on my PC first, and then importing all of my Outlook data into Thunderbird. I then located and made a copy of the Thunderbird Mail file, which I moved to my Mac. I installed Thunderbird on my Mac, and imported the file I moved from the PC. I was then able to use the resulting mail file in Mac's Mail.
It's been several months ago, and my details might not be exact...however, a little bit of messing with it will definitely get the job done. I had about 10 years of data to move.
Regarding contacts, I think I exported a comma delimited file from the PC, which I was able to import into Mac's Address book....it wasn't difficult. Good luck! Bill

  • Transfer of Address Book, Mail, Bookmarks (From Tiger)

    Hi Gang
I'm finally thinking about going with Leopard. Although I've been quite satisfied with Tiger, but I hear constantly that Leopard will run smoother, even on an older 1.8 G5 Single Processor?
    Anyway, about backing up my old mail, bookmarks, and address book, from Tiger;
    ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist - com.apple.mail.plist - etc.
Can you guys tell me if I might have any problems copying and pasting these where they're supposed to go? And can you tell me please which ones exactly I need to save/backup? Mail, (both in and sent), Safari Bookmarks, and Address Book.
    Thank You
    Mike

    I suggest you do this:
    1. Repair the hard drive and permissions as follows:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Make a bootable backup of your Tiger system just in case:
How to Clone Using Restore Option of Disk Utility
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the destination volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (journaled, if available) and click on the Erase button. This step can be skipped if the destination has already been freshly erased.
    4. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    5. Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the drive to which you will restore or backup.
Source means the drive you are restoring from or backing up.
    3. Install Leopard by doing an Archive and Install and checking the option to preserve users and network settings:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. If no errors are reported, then quit DU and return to the installer.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.
Since your Home folder will be transferred to the newly install Leopard system all you need do is open Mail, iCal, etc. and they should import your data automatically.

  • Retrieving Address book files & emails from old G5 (10.4) to MacPro (10.5)

My G5 died last week - both processors. HDs are OK though and I thought accessing old files would be easy.
I would like to recuperate the old Address book contacts and also my old emails from the old HDs.
Although I can mount them in the MacPro, I can't open the old Address book with Leopard and don't know where they might be in the old system; Same with the old emails. I did save the old email boxes as an mbox file but Leopard won't open it although I can open the old files individually.
    Any solutions ?

    David,
I once had a similar experience with a G5, but I love my Mac Pro 8 Core.
You should be able to simply "transplant" the com.apple.mail.plist (old User Directory/Library/Preferences) and the Mail folder from your old User Directory/Library, as well as the AddressBook folder from User Directory/Library/Application Support and then launch Mail and also the Address Book application, and have everything taken up where you left off, despite the version change. This is best done before every setting up anything in Mail or AB.
    More info, please.

  • Transferring my contacts, itunes music, apps, address book, and pics from my iphone to my new MacBook Pro

I bought a new MacBook Pro 4 months ago, had some issues with it, brought it to Best Buy Geek Squad and they   . Now I would like to sync my iphone 4 with my computer. However, when I go to do that a message appears that says the computers current information will transfer to the iphone. Well there isn't anything on my computer and so I am afraid if I follow through with it my iphone will lose everything. I am mainly concerned about my address book, itunes and pictures. Is there any way for me to transfer from the iphone to the MacBook Pro?
My husband also has an iphone. I'd like to be able to also sync itunes with his phone but not the contacts. Any suggestions?

You might want to ask your question in the iPhone forum - https://discussions.apple.com/community/iphone/using_iphone.
While all of us here have MacBook Pros, not everyone (including myself!) have an iPhone.
Then again, some MBP/iPhone user may come along with an answer to your question... but I'd post it in the iPhone forum were I you.

  • Address Book Issues moving from Leopard to Tiger

I've carried out a clean install of a powerbook G4, moving down from leopard to tiger because the computer was struggling to cope with leopard with the lack of memory. I'm having problems importing the address book contacts. I've played around with the applications support files, cache files and preferences with no joy. Any ideas?

Thanks for the tip, but I don't have a AddressBook-v22.abcddb file in my application support/address book folder. What I currently have is as follows.
    ABPerson.skindexinverted
    AddressBook.data
    AddressBook.data.previous
And a folder I created called "Metadata" which has all of the contacts in .abcp format.
The top three files are recreated automatically it seems as I've deleted them a few times and after I open address book the files return.
    All thoughts welcome.
