Address book photo

In what folder can I find my own photo that's used in Address Book?

Without regard to where the image may have been prior to its being added and used in AB, it will currently be in the Application Support/AddressBook/Images. Whether you would do best to edit a new one, and add that, or try to edit the one in the Images folder is probably not critical.
The AB app will give it a new name when it is first added from what it had elsewhere.

  • Address book photo in Mail

Is there anyway to remove the Address Book photo when printing a Mail message? I print some of my stuff to pdf and would rather not have the photo printed as well.
    Thanks.

Thanks, but tried it and I have the correct photo in system prefs, and the wrong one in address book.
EDIT - But wait, now sorted. I deleted my 'Me' card and created a new one, and now the correct photo displays in both places.

  • How to make Address Book photos appear in .Mac contacts?

How do you make the photos from your Address Book appear on your .Mac account? The new .Mac interface leaves space for photos in the contact cards, but I cannot figure out how to make the photos from my Address Book appear there. Is it possible to syncronize in a way that syncs photos too?
Thanks for any help on this.

I have the same problem, my photo IDs from my computer Address Book will not sync with my .Mac account. I've asked two Creatives @ the Apple Store in Burlingame CA but they did not know the answer. I also ask the deminstrator of .Mac at MacWorld but when he accessed the Demo version at the show it too was void of pictures. All those who I've asked promassed to get back to me but hae not yet. My only conclusion is it doesn't work but may working in future versions. Does anyone have their .mac Address Book show the picture ID photo's from their computer version or know how to desplay these ID photo's on line?

  • Address Book photo resizes after set

I have a MacBook Pro on OS x 10.7.5.  When I add a photo to Address Book then click "Set" it will change back to its original size after a few seconds.  Anyone have an answer to how I can stop this from happening?
    Mike

Are you referring to Personal Address Book entries or to the Corporate Directory or both? As you mentioned "cn" I initially thought you were referring to the Corporate Directory, but then you mentioned adding new entries so it became less clear - how did you add the new entry? Have you compared the ldif of an entry for which it does display the email address with one for which it doesn't - are there any obvious differences in attribute names? Is there any chance you had previously edited the <iwc-root>/config/templates/ab/*/xlate-* files?
As an aside, you mention after patching you applied the original configuration settings with iwcadmin - were these not merged automatically as part of the patching process? Were no settings at all merged or just not the settings related to the values in the saveState file from when the application was originally configured [<iwc-root>/install/Iwc-config_*/saveState]?

  • Inactivate address book photo

How do I make my photo in the address book NOT attach to emails I send (using Leopard)? Thanks!

I thought this would be the case, but when I CC myself on mail I send to others, my photo attachment comes through. I finally erased my entry in address book and re-entered without photo. That has done it, but I'd like to be able to include photos for other entries in the address book...sigh...
    Thanks for trying tho'

  • Address Book Photo Effects?!

Is there any way to get the effects from the Addrss Book to work with Photo Booth?

I think Apple would have to do this. Leopard Address Book gets its image handling from a new framework called ImageKit.

  • IMac address book photos

I have imported my outlook contact list to my iMac and added photos to the contacts, but when I sync my iPhone the photos do not display with the contacts on the phone.  Any suggestions?

Was this data on the external drive transferred from a Mac running 10.4?
If so, you need to transfer the Mail.app preference file from the old Mac also which is located at Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.mail.plist. This preference file stores all account information and general Mail.app preferences.
If you have this file from the old Mac and if this old Mac was running 10.4, do the following.
With the Mail.app quit on your new iMac, place the backup copy of the Mail folder at Home > Library to replace the previous backup copy of the Mail folder placed there.
Place the com.apple.mail.plist file from the backup drive at Home > Library > Preferences on your new iMac.
Launch Mail and it should be identical to Mail on your old Mac at the time the backup copy of this data was created.
For Address Book data, with the Address Book quit on the iMac and using the Finder, place the copy of the AddressBook folder from the backup drive located at Home > Library > Application Support in the same location on your new iMac - Home > Library > Application Support > AddressBook.
Launch Address Book and all data should be restored.
Safari Bookmarks are located at Home > Library > Safari.
With Safari quit, place the copy of the Safari folder from the backup drive at Home > Library.
Do you use iPhoto for your pictures and if so, did you backup your iPhoto database of just some photos?

  • OSX Address Book Photos Not Syncing Properly to iOS

I have been having a problem for a while now and cannot seem to fix it...
I have all my contacts in the OSX address book.  I usually add contact photos by clicking on the photo and then choosing a new photo from my iPhoto library.  (I usually have to enlarge and then crop the photo from within Address Book).
I use iCloud to sync my contacts to my iOS devices, but the photos don't seem to sync properly.  Instead of the person's face, I usually get their shoulder, or nothing at all.  The text for the contact syncs fine.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Applescript - Address Book Photos

Is there a way to change a single photo that is used on lots of contacts without changing each one individually?
I have 300 contacts with a company logo on and the logo has long changed and I'd like to update them all.
    Thanks.

    Hi Simon,
Let's suppose that you have already updated the image of Steve Jobs, but not that of Bill Gates.
Then the following script should do what your are asking for:
    --BEGINNING OF SCRIPT
    tell application "Address Book"
set SJ to item 1 of (every person whose name is "Steve Jobs")
set theNewLogo to image of SJ
set BG to item 1 of (every person whose name is "Bill Gates")
set theOldLogo to image of BG
set image of (every person whose image is theOldLogo) to theNewLogo
    end tell
    --END OF SCRIPT
Might I suggest that you make a backup of your Address Book before launching the script.

  • Address Book Photos

Happy to see OS X Lion provides an easy way to add photos to address book contacts but in my case it won't work. When I double click the empty image holder, the Faces icon is always greyed out regardless of having iPhoto open or not?
    Suggestions?

    Mine is broken too. ):
The only work around I can offer is to Double-Click to edit photo, select 'Choose...', then navigate to 'Media -> Photos' in the Sidebar.
From there, unfortunately, you cannot navigate to 'Faces', but you can use the 'Find' (Search) feature in this dialog to search for images tagged with the target name; this will draw on any images tagged by 'Faces' in iPhoto.
    • Note: if you have a lot of items in the Sidebar, the 'Media' section will be way down at the bottom; scroll to discover.
    • Note: You may need to Quit Address Book and relaunch to display recently added or edited images in iPhoto.
    • Note: The 'Find' feature can take a good amount of time to index and search if you have a lot of photos in iPhoto.

  • Address Book Photo for RSS Feeds, in Mail?

    Hi,
Does anybody know how to get an image to show up for an RSS feed instead of the square box with a silhouette of a person?
I really the new Apple Mail feature that places a photo of the sender in the mail message pane list. It works great for email. Can I get this to work for my RSS feeds, too? Ideally, Apple Mail would just use the logo, if one is designated, in the RSS feed itself, which many feeds have.
    Thanks,

I'm getting the same behavior in 10.5.1 with Mail 3.1.

  • How to format drive but recover mail and address book?

    hi there,
thanks for taking the time to read this question.
there are some major problems with my hard drive -- bad files somewhere that can't be identified -- so i am formatting my drive and starting from scratch. of course, i want to keep/recover the contents of some key programs from the old drive (e.g. mail, address book, photos, itunes files) on my newly formatted drive. also, i am running tiger currently, but will re-format with leopard.
i have a backup of my hard drive on an external. what's the best way to re-load the old mail files onto the new drive? i don't need the folders, or any of that, i just want to have the ability to search my old mail and pull up an important email when the need arises. same question for addresbook, too.
i am not at all computer savvy, and i will appreciate any answers in as simple language as possible. thank you for your help.

    Hi there,
The first way would be once you intall Leopard to the New Hard Drive, on first boot Migration Assistant will popup & ask if you want to import/migrate your old/other stuff, I'd try it that way myself.
You'll have a hard time searching or using it any other way, but here's where the stuff you mention is...
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/
    Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail Download/
(Could be a different folder here if you chose such in Mail Prefs)
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBook/

  • Address Book pic not used for Buddy Icon

    Hi there,
The buddy icon for everyone I chat with is a default blue globe . . . I know these people, my brother for example, have a photo selected for themselves in their address book. Why is there address book photo not appearing as their buddy icon?
    Thx!

    Hi Krischips22,
First of All click once on one Buddy.
Use the Apple Key and I together (Get Info)
Go to the Screen name in the drop down
IS this the same Pick as shown on the Address Card in the dropdown ?
Is there an Option selected that says Use the Pic ?
Are they in your Address Book ?
DO you have a Pic there for them ?

  • Address Book synching only half-works

My iPod Classic seems unable to keep straight which addresses and phone numbers are "home" and which ones are "work", and, though my older iPod Photo could do it, does not seem able to transfer information from the "Notes" field. Is there any solution for this yet, or do we just have to wait for another firmware update?
On a more cosmetic note, Address Book photos that did not originate from pictures that were already scaled down to 64x64 (or whatever) appear scrambled when they display on the iPod.

Same problem here from day one through FW 1.0.2.
Let's hope they fix it in the next release.
    Cheers,
    S.
