Address Book Recipient Not Appearing in Mail To List

I have an entry in my Address Book that will not appear in Mail's to field when I start typing that person's name. I can drag and drop from Address Book without a problem. Just seems to be a problem with one contact. Any suggestions to get this working?

If a new OAB is set as default, please check whether the OAB folder in the following path is the latest date in Exchange sever:
a. OAB generated in Mailbox:
\\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ ExchangeOAB
b. OAB distribution in Client Access:
\\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\OAB
If the OAB file is not generated, please collect any event logs in Mailbox server and provide your OAB virtual directory information for more troubleshooting. If the files in both of two folders are latest,
we can try the following steps in Outlook to download Offline Address Book:
1. Delete the *.oab files in the following folders in local machine:
\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Offline Address Books
2. Create a new Outlook profile that uses Cached Exchange Mode.
3. Start Outlook 2010 with this new profile.
4. In the ribbon click Send / Receive, click
Send/Receive Groups and then click Download Address Book.

Welcome to the forums!
Do you mean you don't know how to see any fonts at all? If that is the case, use the Font icon in the toolbar, or go to the Format menu, and in the Fonts submenu choose "Show Fonts" (or use the keyboard shortcut Command-T). Any of these methods will bring up the Font Panel.
If you mean that fonts do not show up in the Font Panel, be sure that the fonts themselves are turned on in Font Book.

Address book contacs not appearing

i am having some issues with my address book lately, when i open address book, everything is blank, i am not allowed to add any contacts or do any modifications. what is weird is the fact that the contacts do appear in mobileme, and when i compose a new email all the contacts are available available as well. i've tried resetting the mobileme sync settings and have set it to transfer all contacts to my macbook pro with no success, everything is still blank, any help?
I have restarted my computer to see if the problem is fixed and everything is the same. I also checked user>library>addressbook and al the v.cards are there, i reallybran out of ideas.

Since you reinstalled Address Book from your install disk, you should also reinstall the Mac OS X v10.6.3 v1.1 Update (Combo) to bring the Address Book application up to the most recent version. Give that a try while you are waiting for other suggestions.

Address Book pic not used for Buddy Icon

Hi there,
The buddy icon for everyone I chat with is a default blue globe . . . I know these people, my brother for example, have a photo selected for themselves in their address book. Why is there address book photo not appearing as their buddy icon?

First of All click once on one Buddy.
Use the Apple Key and I together (Get Info)
Go to the Screen name in the drop down
IS this the same Pick as shown on the Address Card in the dropdown ?
Is there an Option selected that says Use the Pic ?
Are they in your Address Book ?
DO you have a Pic there for them ?

When I compose an E-mail my address book will not open when I click on TO or CC, but it does work on other computers and also if I use explorer.

My address book will not show when I click on the TO or CC button, a mozilla page does open but there is no content. My E-mail accounts work fine on other computers. It also works fine on this computer if I use Explorer instead.

"Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now" 
"Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies" 
 
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Address Book and OS X Lion Mail.

When I compose a message and I specify the recipient names, I have discovered that the auto-fill, meaning if I type “a”, I get a list of all people (beginning with “a”) that I have received or sent in the past, appears to make my selection of recipients. I thought that only the names in my address book would appear. Where Mail keeps all the other names not in my address book?

Address Book window not visible

Have a strange problem with Address Book on a friend's new 27-inch iMac.
When Address Book is launched, the menus appear at the top of the screen but there is no window. Some menu items are greyed out but some are visible. Have tried various things:
Window > Address Book does not make the window appear. Repaired permissions, removed .plist files.
Can view the Address Book entries from the Address Book button in Mail.
Any ideas, anyone?

Start by backing up the user/Library/Application Support/Addressbook folder.
In that folder is a file called AddressBook-v22.abcddb. Delete that and start address book. That will delete the index and have AB recreate it. I don't know if that is the problem, but may be.
On a different tack, download and install the 10.6.3 combo updater. It may fix what is broken. However, most problems are data-related, not the application itself.
Can you log into a different user and open Address Book? Just create a new user account for testing, if there isn't another. I keep one just for checking stuff like this. Checking in a different user will tell us if it is a system-wide problem, or just that one particular user.

Address Book does not sync with "Truth"

Hey all.
I've been experiencing this problem for some time now. I'm syncing between Address Book, Entourage 2008 and my cellphone via iSync. Recently however, it seems that my Address Book does not sync with the "Truth" anymore. For instance, when I make changes to a contact within my cellphone, after using iSync, the changes appear in Entourage 2008, but not in Address Book. Likewise, if I import a contact's vCard into Address Book, it does not show up in Entourage 2008 or iSync back to my cellphone.
I've tried resetting Sync History through both the button in iSync's preferences as well as terminal. That did not work. Neither did repairing permissions.
Could someone help me please?

If you have developper tools installed, maybe you can take a look a Syncrospector, located in /Developer/Applications/Utilities/
You should see AddressBook in clients list, with last sync data and registered entities (data types).
You can also check if /System/Library/Frameworks/AddressBook.framework/Resources/AddressBookSync.app is present on your disk.

Address Book does not synchronize

Hi.
My Address Book does not update when I add a contact in Mail.
It also does not sync with my iPhone. When I tried to replace the information on my phone, I ended up with all my contacts on the phone being wiped out! I don't use MobileMe.
I went to iSync to reset Sync History, but no joy.
I have created another user account, and added a few names in the Address Book to test this, and this does sync with my iPhone.
So I think this is a problem isolated to Address Book in my user account. Can I reset it somehow, so that it links back to all these other programs?

Found the answer in another post by V.K.
delete the file homedirectory/library/application support/address book/AddressBook-v22.abcddb and the file /homedirectory/library/preferences/com.apple.addressbook.plist.
Once I did this it works again

Address Book is Not Working

Suddenly Address Book is not working. I can type addresses into Mail, but if I try to click on names directly from Address Book, nothing happens. It has been working fine until today. Contacts is fine; all addresses are there, but I wanted to enter several people from Address Book and nothing prints. How can I fix it? I have an Imac with Mountain Lion.

In which this just gets weirder and weirder...
I logged onto iCloud.com, signed into my account and created a rule there that emails from my husband's address should be allowed into the inbox. I sent another test msg from him to me and got the New Mail notification sound, the new mail showed up but in a flash disappeared. This happened in the space of about 3 seconds.
Messages from his email address are not even showing up in the Trash folder. WTH?

Contacts book will not accept my Mail password

My contacts book will not accept my Mail passwords. I've deleted the prefs without it solving the problem. First I keep getting a pop-up that says it can't connect to my account and to put in the password. I do, over and over until I get an alert saying it's a CoreDaverror1. I don't know what to do. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

Just so we're clear this is an iMAC issue not an ipad or iphone issue.
This all began when I received a message. My Mail account was set up as a POP account. When I opened a message from a cllient my screen "blipped" and suddenly I'm taken to my Mail preferences and my pop accounts were changed to IMAP accounts!! I saved my messages, deleted both accounts and used the Mail wizard. To my surprise I was not given the chance to choose a POP account again. All it did was automatically choose IMAP, I had no manual ability to change it.
After this, my contacts address book continually asks for my passwords and won't connect to whatever server it's trying to connect to.
Please note that I'm not a techie beyond a certain point.
I called Apple but they wouldn't answer my question unless I paid them $85! I called the Apple Store where I purchased my iMAC and I may have to bring it in for repair.
Believe me, I tried everything to get my Mail accounts back to POP. Even reinstalled my complete system. Didn't do a thing. And the system won't let me delete Mail and reinstall it, as it's part of the system.

have a text convo with the person you want to delete. Go to the top contact in the text convo, hit edit contact, and delete that contact.
That resolution came from another thread on this issue, and this did solve to poster's issue.

My e-mails do not appear in Mail on my MacBook Pro

For the last week my incoming mails on my iCloud account does not appear in Mail on my MacBook Pro. E-mails appear as normal on my iCloud and iPhone.
I have logged out of iCloud on my Mac and logged on again, still the same problem.
Any advice anyone?
