Address List Maintenance
My issue is that SOME of my entries are not responding to preference settings. When I toggle between the "Show First Name: Before last name/Following last name" setting, only about half (or less) of the entries in my list change.
Does anyone know of any maintenance scripts to run on the address list database? I did try archiving the entire list (about 360 cards), deleting all Library files pertaining to the Address Book, and then re-importing the list. The above issue is still there, but now I've lost all the pictures I had associated. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
Please help
I was researching the business level routers and its emphasis do not match my needs.
It focuses on scalability, DMZ ports and security... and these are not my current priorities.
Do you know any SOHO linksys router which supports filtering of more than 32 MAC addresses ?
How many MAC addresses does the WRTAC1900 support ... I love this router
I bought the EA6500 router but it only supports 32 mac addresses.
Also I know that mac address filtering is not the best security, but my network already has WPA and a strong password.
However its an extra level of security to push the bar a littler higher.

Hi All,
I have looked around and cannot seem to find anything similar. Does anyone know, or already have something which will do the following:
1. Allow me to update prices on Price List B, based on Price List A (by group), but allow me to keep different currencies?
eg: If we asked for Item Group A, and said we want Price List B to be based on A, at 1.5, BUT in EUR, we would get
Price List A
A0001 100GBP
Price List B
A0001 150EUR (was blank, or say 120EUR)
Where the prices in Price List B are overwritten from whatever they were.
I do not want to use the "exchange rate", just a variable that I fix. Ideally, the solution would run externally via ODBC.
If this all sounds possible, or anyone knows where it has already been done, please please let me know, otherwise we will need this made for us! =)
Thanks,
RajivRavij,
Send me your e-mail address and we can speak. We have an Add-On that does Price List maintenance based on GRPO's. -
Upgrade Default Address Lists from LDAP
Hello,
I migrated from MS Exchange 2003 to 2010 some time back. Currently trying to upgrade the address lists as per the guide here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd351283.aspx
When I run
Set-GlobalAddressList "Default Global Address List" -RecipientFilter {(Alias -ne $null -and (ObjectClass -eq 'user' -or ObjectClass -eq 'contact' -or ObjectClass -eq 'msExchSystemMailbox' -or ObjectClass -eq 'msExchDynamicDistributionList' -or ObjectClass -eq 'group' -or ObjectClass -eq 'publicFolder'))}I get the following error:what should I do? Thanks.Hi Birenc,
the default Global Address List can be modified during the conversion from Exchange 2003. You won't be able to do it after that hence the error message.
1- Run Get-GlobalAdressList | fl and check the IsDefaultGlobalAddressList value. I believe in your case this would be False.
2- To change this you would need to change the msExchRecipientFilterFlags attribute. you can do this via ADSIEDIT. Open ADSIEDIT connect to the Configuration container. Find the Default Global Address List and change the above attribute value from 3 to
0 and apply the changes. Then change it back to 3 and apply changes.
3- Run GlobalAdressList | fl again and the IsDefaultGlobalAddressList value should now be true.
This should fix your issue.

The name cannot be matched to a name in the Address List
Hi,
I checked several posts but no luck.
Problem: We currently have Exchange 2010 and 2003 co-existence, busy migrating to 2010. We have several domains as well. A problem came up in one of our remote access domain where we have Citrix running. After the user has been moved to the new 2010 server
and you re-create their mail profile in Outlook 2010 then it will give the following error:
The name cannot be resolved. The name cannot be matched to a name in the address list.
A popup box appears with the server name exch2010cas.domain.local and the mailbox field =SMTP:[email protected] When you click on Check Name the error keeps popping up. When I change the server to exch2003.domain.local though and click Check Name the
mailbox gets underlined and the servername changes back to exch2010cas.domain.local in the exchange server textbox.
I'm pretty sure it must be an AD or DNS problem somewhere but I'm not sure where? I did add some domain suffixes to the new Exchange server so it can resolve hostnames in the local and remote domain. I also looked at the GAL and the entries for the user
is in there. I'm not sure if it might have something to do with LegacyExchangeDN value either?
I appreciate any help, thanks.Hi,
I recommend the following troubleshooting:
1.Verify that the Active Directory account that you use either to create the client profile or to log on to the mailbox has been mailbox-enabled.
2.Verify that the user can use the Active Directory account to view sibling objects in the Users container (or in the Active Directory organizational unit that contains the user account).
3.Verify that the user account has been stamped by the Recipient Update Service after you mailbox-enable the user account.
4.Verify that the user can see both the Global Address List objects that are listed in the
showInAddressBook attribute and the members of the Global Address List using Ldp.exe
5.Log on as an administrator, and then verify that there are no duplicates in the
addressBookRoots attribute of the Microsoft Exchange object under <var>Domain</var>,cn=Configuration,cn=Services

I have a new email address and updated my apple id/icloud with the new address. I updated on my iPhone, but i'm keep getting a pop up to enter my password with my old email address listed for iCloud/Apple id. How do I get it to go away?
Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID. -
New Address List in Exchange 2013, with EMS Multi tenant with emaildomain
HI I want to create a Addresslist in Exchange Online using the filter with specific with each domain by using the email address as
*@xyz.com , since my present scenario is I have two domains and all the recipients are fully populated in the Default GAL.
BrHi,
You may implement the address book segregation by the following ways: The method uses the Custom Attribute set for the iusers
1. Create Address List for Organization 1
New-AddressList -name “Organization 1” -RecipientFilter {(CustomAttribute1 -eq “Org 1 Member”)} -DisplayName “Organization 1 List”
2. Create Global Address List for the Organization 1
New-GlobalAddressList -name “GAL_Organization 1” -RecipientFilter {(CustomAttribute1 -eq “Org 1 Member”)}
3. Create corresponding Offline Address List
New-OfflineAddressBook -name “OAB_Organization1” -AddressLists “GAL_Organization1”
4. Create an Address Book Policy for Org 1
New-AddressBookPolicy -name “ABP_Org1” -AddressLists “Organization 1” -OfflineAddressBook “OAB_Organization1” -GlobalAddressList “GAL_Organization 1”
5. Assign the ABP to the Org 1 Users
Get-Mailbox -resultsize unlimited | where {$_.CustomAttribute1 -eq “Org 1 Member”} | Set-Mailbox -AddressBookPolicy “ABP_Org1”
Mailboxes that have 'Org1 Member' as the value of the CustomAttribute1, will only see Other members of their Organization.

'Other Address List' not showing in Address Book
I'm trying to create an customized address list that will appear in the address book. I've placed the contacts into a contacts folder, and placed this contacts folder into a .pst file. This way, I can distribute this .pst file for others to use the same
address list.
I'm aware that I have to tick 'Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book', under the properties of the contact folder.
This address book does show up under 'Other Address List' -> name of the address book, when we look at the address book drop down list. This is when I only have 1 email account under the same Outlook profile.
When I have more than 1 email account under the same Outlook profile, this address list shows itself under the 2nd email account, and not 'Other Address List'.
Is this by design or could it be a bug? Is there a way to fix this / any workarounds? Thank you!
FYI I am waiting for verification of my account as I can't post pictures or links. I've already completed verification by clicking the link. Maybe there's a delay somewhere.
Update : images uploaded.Hi,
I tested this issue and I can reproduce it in my environment. However, as far as I know, this behavior won't affect the usage of the address book.
I searched the internal resource but I cannot find a bug report regarding this issue. If you have any suggestion about this issue, you can submit a feedback via:

How can I share address lists between two iCloud users
My daughter and I have two different icloud accounts. We are able to share certain calendars, but I would like also to share address lists/groups. Is there a way to do this? I think you could "subscribe" to another Mobile Me user, but how is this done in ICloud?
I do understand that if we have the same Icloud account and Apple ID then they will sync automatically. We don't. I have just separated our accounts (on purpose). Via icloud we can share calendars, but I want to share address lists too. Can address lists be shared (or subscribed to) by two different icloud users with two different Apple IDs?
Anybody know? -
Can I share addresses lists between 2 different iCloud users?
Does anyone know if I can share address lists/books between two different iCloud users? I know you can do this with a calendar, but I would like to do it with addresses too.
Yes.
Go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Add a new account if type iCloud, and username/pasword for the secondary account you want to access their contacts. Turn off all but Contacts, and you wll now be seeing their contacts on your iPhone.
Now in your contacts app, under Groups, there is a new section of contact from the new iCloud account you just setup. If you have the contacts app open (even minimized) you may have to force it closed and re-open to sync in the new contacts. -
Is there a way to keep email address list open when sending to multiple people. List closes after choosing one person, then have to open to send to next person, etc. etc.
There is a way to create a mailing list.
In the notes app create a list of email addresses separated by commas, i.e. [email protected],[email protected],[email protected]
Copy the address list
Create an entry in contacts for the list
In the email field paste the address list
When you send an email using the email list, you may get a message saying the email address appears to be invalid, select to send anyway. -
Is there a way to remove Exchange global address list from phone/Mail app?
I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3. Wondering if there is a way I can prevent an Exchange global address list from loading when I compose a message. I am only syncing Mail - not contacts or calendars. Also tried dropping and re-adding account to see if that did anything. This is a personal phone connected to company's Exchange account (legitimately) - I would like to reduce the chance that I incorrectly email a company employee from my personal account when composing a message.
That is what I expected Chris, but to answer your question - yes. I have two accounts setup with the Mail app - Gmail and Exchange. Gmail is the default even. When I am in the Gmail account, compose a new message, just typing "john" for example, brings up most recently used john's first, then all the Johns in my company. I really would prefer not to even have those names populate. Not sure if that can be prevented without dropping the Exchange mail account altogether. That is my question - and thank you for your reply.

Updating Global Address Lists and its corresponding attributes
What do these attributes have to do with the updating of global address lists?
1.msExchAddressBookFlags
2.msExchModerationFlags
3.msExchProvisioningFlags
and what exactly happens with showInAddressBook when hide from address lists are selected or unselected??Hi,
1. MSExchAddressBookFlags attribute is a flag about the default address list to display for Outlook users address lists. When the value is set to 0, the user would set Contacts as the default address list, when the user opens Address Book, it firstly displays
user’s Contact.
2. MsExchModerationFlags attribute on the Distribution Group indicates if sending the auto approval to senders.
3. About the msExchProvisioningFlags attribute, there is no official article explaining it. Your understanding will be appreciated.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

Sort Global Address List by Last Name in Exchange (SBS 2011)
Hello
We Use SBS 2011 and outlook for interoffice mailing.
In our Company People Know each other by their Last Names. But in Outlook in Global Address List names are sorted by First Name alphabetically. I want, for example, when people type “C” in search box of
“Select Names: Global Address List” people who have Last Names beginning with C to be shown.
Thank You for answeringHi,
Based on your description, please refer to following similar thread and check if can help you.
Exchange
Server 2007 Global Address List, Sort by LastName, FirstName
By the way, in
Select Names: Global Address List, did you click

If any update, please feel free to let me know.
Hope this helps.

=========================================================================Do we have to make any changes on other config files except the imta.cnf and mappings file for inbound and outbound..
thanks for any help
Edited by: prasad0_0 on Jul 8, 2008 4:58 AMi have already setup the messaging server 6 months back.. followed the same procedure to route mails to a gateway..
made changes to the imta.cnf for outbound mail flow to the tcp_local and mappings file to accept inbound mail flow from the gateway. Its working perfectly on the older setup, but this now, have issues with new setup.
here is the imta.cnf file..

Disable Global address list suggestions when composing e mail
I got a question of one of my users a few days ago pointing out that when using an Iphone with Active Sync / Exchange synchronisation he is not able to disable e mail address suggestions he gets when typing the e mail address in the TO field comming from the Global Address list.
My user wants to use his personal contacts he uses in Outlook, but does not want to use the Global Address list from exchange. (at least not the automatic suggestions which pop up during typing an e mail in the TO / CC fields when composing an E mail.
I am able to disable this in the Contract app, but not in the E mail app in IOS.
It seems that when I enable to sync the contacts I get both the Personall contacts plus the Global Address list, there is no way to set any setting in regard to the contacts here.
I cannot find any setting which disables the phone of looking up the address I am typing in the Global Address list, having a verry big corporate global address list (we use this in our desktop / outlook environment) this can be verry annoying.
Anyone who can tell me if I can disable this (or not) and if so point me in the right direction ?
Thank youWhat device do you have? And what is missing? You Compose a message, choose a name, then they have email addresses missing? or the contact is missing?
