Address removed from Reply All

This is the reverse problem that a lot of folks have with Reply All adding their own email address into the thread. My issue is the opposite. I've added a second account to Mail, and when I Reply All to something sent to that address that was also addressed to my original enabled address in Mail, my original address is removed from the CC. I've tested on Yosemite and Mavericks Mail, and same result. Reply All seems to by default remove the address of your other enabled mail accounts from that thread. I see no way or setting to override this and find it very frustrating as I need that original address included in the conversation and for fut.

Florian,
You haven't missed anything -- it is a "feature" of Mail! Seriously, I have tested it, and sometimes I have seen it pick a second address (when two of my addresses are in the To) as the From when clicking on Reply on the same computer. The latter behavior is based upon the hierarchy of appear in the Sidebar, as best I can remember.

  • Aperture 3 backup/copy (before removing from computer all together to make space)

    Hi All,
I have Aperture 3 running on a 128gb 2011 MacBook Air. The problem is I have run out of space.  The other problem is I am living out of a 33l bag and cannot carry all sorts of external drives for multiple backups.  I'm using Time Machine on the one external drive I have with me.
At the present time I have been backing up all versions to the cloud (to Picasa, using the exporter plugin) and I have the 'best' photos elsewhere on the cloud too. Once they are safely in the cloud I have been deleting most of them from my laptop. I have come to the conclusion that this is not the best system as I have already gone back to try and re-edit after downloading from the cloud and obviously I don't have the masters anymore. (I can't re-crop or put colour back into a shot I made b+w for instance) (There is no way I can keep everything on my computer - we've been living out of small backpacks and traveling for almost 2 years now - that's a lot of photos)
I have a new camera and want to start shooting in RAW. It is a 24mp camera so the files are obviously large. I need more room to work!
Ideally I would like to remove, say, most of the files that are more than a few months old from my computer. But, I want them to be saved completely - original, master, version, keywords, and project structures etc onto my (partitioned) external drive. (as well as continuing to put the versions in the cloud.) Then, delete them from my computer and have lots more space.
After all that, which is the best way to move them to the external drive whilst saving all the information about each image? Should I just take a copy of the whole library at this time then have a good old clear out? Would I then be able to access those pics without importing the whole thing back in?
Extra info: Aperture is version 3.4.3 on Lion. Oh, and I'm using the 'shared' iphoto library system from the time before I had Aperture. Library is over 40GB, And, one thing I don't want to do is have the entire library on the external drive. I use the laptop out and about all the time and I don't want to have to take the drive with me.  I know I should have TM backing up all the time but once every few days is enough for me with the other back-up systems I have in place.
Bonus question: would I use the same process for making a second complete copy of everything in the cloud?
    Thanks in advance experts!

I have done that long time ago as I shoot RAW for a while now. SSDs and RAW filies just don't like each other. Ore you are a millionaire ....
    Anyway, here is my expereience.
I started with a 2.5" USB2 drive. Far to slow. Keep in mind, when you edit the files you need to load them.
I bought a LACIE Firewire-800 which worked much better.
Then I needed more space, my new Macbook no longer supports Firewire so I swithced to USB-3 dives in RAID-0. That was a bad move. I nearly never managed to get USB-3 speed, no clue if it was the cables or der cases or whatever.
Now that I have 24M Pixel Raws I have migrated all files to an LACIE Thunderbolt drive and ar so happy. There ar more options than the LACIE I choose, but I am so happy with it. Only disatvantage: I have over 3TB now and now need disks with external power supply. Pretty bad thing for a Laptop. Constantly thinking of migrating to Lighroom as they support proxy files in their library so that you can edit on them and have the real RAWs on the external drive at home.
    Conclusion:
With RAW files on external drive speed is really an issue and USB-3 is not really reliable. So it is worth considering the extra bucks for Thunderbolt drives.
One more thing: When moving the RAWs from one drive to another, Aperture will not find them, but it is pretty simple to tell Aperture in one step ( ! ) where to find the directories and subdirectories on the new drive. This works way better than with Lightroom.

  • Email address removal from iPhone

Back on an iPhone.... With my original iPhone if I sent an email with a 'bum' address... it stayed in the iPhone system. There was no way for removal other than resetting the iPhone. Is this still the case?
    Thank you.

Yes, this is still the case - the only way to clear the email address autofill cache is to restore the phone and set it up as new (not from backup).
You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

  • Resume use of another active email address removed from accounts page

    Greetings Mozilla team,
My Tbird A/c started as [email protected] (in Australia)
I then added [email protected], hosted by direcNIC.
Then I deleted reference to the first name in the TB Accounts information window.
Since directNIC now seems to have disappeared, and my websites are in limbo, I would like to resume use of the still current bigpond address, but can't find out how to do this.
Bigpond themselves had no trouble mailing me recently, using their [email protected] address.
Messy to describe, but should be easy to fix. I hope you can suggest the way.
    Thanks and Cheers,
    Mike Moran

Last Mike Moran I knew sold Real Estate in Macksville.
But more to the point. I am assuming you got an email from the plod in Thunderbird, which indicates you only sort of got rid of it.
So, to see what is an is not configured. Please post the Account information from the troubleshooting information on the help menu in Thunderbird. That is copy to clipboard and paste. All of it or just the account information.

  • Just how do I get my e-mail address removed from your 7 day menu planner? It is absolutely useless!

DO NOT USE MY PRINTER FOR SUCH TRASH!

    Hello JohnDNelson,
Thank you for being a member of the HP Support community.  I understand that you have accidentally subscribed to the 7 day menu planner app found on the front panel of your HP printer.
I have included the how-to document titled "How to Stop or Manage Scheduled Printing".  It will walk you through how to unsubscribe from the 7 day menu planner app.

  • Reply-all removes my second pop account from recipients

    Hi All,
I use Mail with two POP accounts (mine and my wife's). If somebody sends an email to both me and my wife, when I try to Reply-All, my wife's email address is strangely removed from the recipients.
Same behavior if my wife does the reply-all, then my email address is stripped from the recipients list.
Any option I may miss ?
    thanks for your help.

  • Can't remove addresses after reply all

    Hello,
When I click "reply-all", I'm unable to delete some of the addresses from the address bar. I select them and hit delete, but when I click away, they pop right back in! Anyone else have this issue? Perhaps it's related to one of my add-ons:
    Attachment Extractor
    Signature Switch
    Spanish dictionary
    Virtual Identity
    Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks.
    TB 24.6.0
    Win 7 Enterprise x64 SP1

I also have this problem, using Thunderbird 31.0 under Mac OSX Mavericks.
I disabled all plugins, and the problem went away. I re-enabled Virtual Identity 0.9.18 and the problem came back.

  • How to make Reply (all), to an email I sent, to be sent from same account as the original email?

I have a number of Email accounts configured, all of them as pop mail. And, they are all configured to use the same Inbox and Send folders, Thrashbin etc. They are all correctly configured with the appropriate Sender and Reply to-address.
My problem, has started occuring, I think, after I exchanged my default and some of my email accounts.
Sometimes I need to reuse a message that I have sent, to fill in some details, or whatever.
Typically I open an Email from the Sent folder, remove my own email from the distribution list, add some more text
and resend the message to the original recipients.
What I want, is for the new message to be sent from the same sender address as the original email.
But, since I changed my default account, the new email created by opening an email from the Sent folder
and clicking Reply or Reply all, now gets a different Sender and Reply to - address.
And this means I have to remember to edit the Sender address.
I seem to get this problem regardless of whether I do Forward, Reply or Reply all, to create a new Email from the old one I sent.
This is really a nuisance since I keep forgetting to do this, and it takes extra time and effort for something that used to be quick and easy.
How can I make Thunderbird include the correct Sender address, (the one that I sent the original email from) when doing this, without my having to change it manually each time?
The address Thunderbird chooses is not even my Default email address, but the first account that appears after the Default account in the list of accounts, at least that is what it seems like. I have tried to find a way to reorder the accounts, but I have not been able to find that.
Is there a way to reorder the accounts?
Would it help if I recreated the accounts so the one I use as default becomes the oldest one? But that, would help only for the default account, and the other accounts would still have the same problem, I assume?
I could live with this, since the default account is the default account for a reason.
Would it help, if I separated the different accounts, into different folders?
Or is there a setting to configure how Thunderbird does this, or even have it ask every time I create a new email from the Sent folder?
Each one of the accounts, is configured with the appropriate smtp server settings, (probably irrelevant for this problem).

Good suggestion. It gets rid of the "mailto:", but I have to remove the space after dragging the clip into the user name box. Interestingly, I can open the clip with TextWrangler, remove the space, and save it as a clip. However, the clip, as a clip, still has the space! When I open it again in TextWrangler, the space is gone, but still appears when I drag the clip or open it in the Finder. So not quite a cigar. But definitely useful.
So the question remains, where is a clip's data stored? Is it editable? If so, how? If not, why not?

  • How do I reply to a forwarded email using the 'To' email address in 'From'

Let me explain, as this might sound odd:
I now have what will be a rarely used email address, say [email protected], provided for me by a company I am occasionally contracted to work for. Any email sent to that address is automatically forwarded to my personal account. There will be the odd occasion that I will need to send email from that address, or reply to emails sent to that address.
The problem is, as far as I can see, I can only send email from the address I have set up my account with on Mail, say [email protected] For confidentiality reasons I'm not allowed, nor do I wish, to have recipients know this address. Though I'm self employed, the company I am occasionally contacted to, say +Bloggs LLP+, want me to appear as an employee, hence the [email protected] email address.
Using 'Reply To' is not an option, since my personal 'From' email address is still visible.
Yes, I know I can set up another POP/IMAP account in Mail, have all the [email protected] email go to that inbox, and then when I reply it will have come from [email protected], but I can't set up such an account in Mail since the emails are forwarded automatically and as such I do not have - nor do I wish to have - POP/IMAP access to the [email protected] email account.
In other software, I have been able to simply enter a 'from' email address into a 'From' field, but this doesn't seem possible with Mail.
Anybody got any ideas? I'm using Leopard, so is Mail any different on Snow Leopard?

Sorry, you can't do this in Mail, and I'd love to know which email client you say you've used that does allow this; I've never seen one yet.
If you want to use that email address and send mail from that account, you need to set it up in Mail. There is no difference in basic features between Mail in Leopard or Snow Leopard, so upgrading to Snow Leopard will not help you in any way.

  • Is there a way to remove Exchange global address list from phone/Mail app?

I have an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.3. Wondering if there is a way I can prevent an Exchange global address list from loading when I compose a message. I am only syncing Mail - not contacts or calendars. Also tried dropping and re-adding account to see if that did anything. This is a personal phone connected to company's Exchange account (legitimately) - I would like to reduce the chance that I incorrectly email a company employee from my personal account when composing a message.

That is what I expected Chris, but to answer your question - yes. I have two accounts setup with the Mail app - Gmail and Exchange. Gmail is the default even. When I am in the Gmail account, compose a new message, just typing "john" for example, brings up most recently used john's first, then all the Johns in my company. I really would prefer not to even have those names populate. Not sure if that can be prevented without dropping the Exchange mail account altogether. That is my question - and thank you for your reply.

  • N Mail, when using "reply all" why does Mail automatically include my email address in the cc line? Whey would I want to include my email address in an email I am sending.  Anybody have any idea how to stop this?

In Mail, when using "reply all" why does Mail automatically include my email address in the cc line? Whey would I want to include my email address in an email I am sending.? Anybody have any idea how to stop Mail from including my email address in the cc line when using "reply all"?

Automatically cc myself is not checked.  I did find out that if you have multiple email address that all of them need to be associated with "My Contact" tab.  Thanks

  • Numbers removed from all contacts

I recently installed the 1.1.4 update on my iPhone, and after it was complete, I noticed the numbers and email addresses had been removed from all my contacts. The names and associated pictures are still there, but no numbers.
I have tried syncing with Outlook in iTunes again, and there is no change. My contacts in Outlook have not changed, they are still correct.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Folks, I believe I figured out what the problem is. I was able to resolve my problem.
When you plug in your iphone, select the "Info" tab from the top of the iTunes menu. The problem seems to be with a selection that is probably not seen from this view, since unless you have a gigantic screen, you must scroll down to the option in question. But first be sure you have "Sync address book" contact selected.
Then scroll down to where it says "Advance" at the very bottom of this page. Select "Replace contacts information on this iPhone". This will ensure that your phone contacts are replaced with what is in your address book. Somehow, this is getting deselected and is not obvious, since it is at the bottom of the screen.
    give it a try.

  • OSX Mail : reply all - my email address is also in to/cc field

When i receive an email, and i hit Reply All, my email address is also in the TO or CC field. There is nowhere an option to disable this behavior.
    I got this situation :
TO : email addresses of friends and my email address
    FROM : my email address
How can i solve this ?

My Apple Mail app was doing the same thing. In my case I found a solution. It turns out that the email address that my coworkers were sending to was a duplicate email account with an alias. I added the alias to my current account settings by separating them with a comma. This allowed me to use only one account and kept my email address from showing up in the CC field when I hit "Reply All".
    Example 1:
    [email protected], [email protected]
    Example 2:
    [email protected], [email protected]
    Hope this helps

  • "Reply-all" puts addresses in CC field

Whenever I select "reply-all" for a message, it puts the original sender's email address in the "to" field and all other email addresses in the "cc" field.I want all of the email addresses from the original emails "to" field in the "to" field of the reply message. How can I do this ? The Mail version is Version 4.5 (1084) .

I don't think you can change the way Mail does this. The person who sent the original is the person that the reply is addressed to.
Now, you can manually drag the contents of the CC field up to the To field, but I presume you are looking for something automatic. The only thing I can suggest is maybe write a little Applescript to set up the reply, leaving the outgoing message open for editing.

  • Mail: Reply all includes own email address

Apple Mail in Yosmite includes my own email address when I reply to all.
I can't remember Mavericks or before used to do this.
Anyway, is there a way to turn this off?

Same here. I have three seperate mail accounts and when I reply to the emails within their respective inboxes everything is fine. But if its a message that is moved out of the inbox because a rule has been applied, then all bets are off. If I reply to one of those messages it cc's me and does not "Send from the Account of the selected mailbox.
