Address translation for intranet access

Hi,
We are using iviews created using in SAP Web Dynpto iView template in SAP Enterprise Portal 7.0.
Resently, we have migarated server from 32 bit machine to 64 bit machine.
After migration We are facing some problem with web dynpro applications.
Web Dynpro applications can be opened from internet but not from intranet.
We want that applications can be accessed from intranet as well as internet.
Address of Web AS specified in system used by web dynpro applications is in the form <proxy hostname>.<domain>.<extension>:<port-SSL> like xyz.company.net:SSL-Port-Number.
Can we define translation rule on WebApplication server for converting address to actual address in the form <server host>.<domain>.<extension>:<port>?

It looks like ,configuration to be on DNS server to point to the correct URL.
Please check with your network team. It is mapping of two URLs.

Using Gigabit Adapter for intranet access, wireless for internet access

I have a PowerMac G5 I have been using with a built-in wireless adapter for a couple of years. I also have a Windows PC with a wireless adapter as well. Both of these access the internet over my AirportExpress connected to a cable modem.
I wanted to take advantage of the Gigabit adapter in the PowerMac for copying files directly between the computers, so today I installed a Gigabit card in the PC and connected the two through a Gigabit switch.
Unfortunately, I can't seem to get either the Mac or the PC to get valid IP addresses, let alone talk with each other.
Any idea what I need to do on the Mac to get it to use the gigabit adapter for intranet traffic? I am guessing whatever I do on the Mac I will need to also do on the PC.

What you're trying to do is called 'dual homing', and it's not really supported by OS X's automatic network configuration, though 'Internet Sharing' is close.
I'd avoid it if at all possible. Connect the computers and the cable modem to the Gigabit switch. If the switch doesn't have routing capability, you might need a router also, to provide DHCP and NAT services. This would save you a lot of grief compared to figuring out how to set up the Mac and Windows for dual-home operation.

Need to keep IP address static for FileMaker access

I have a FileMaker running on a Mac on our LAN using Instant Web Publishing to allow staff to enter data remotely. I have a D-Link 604+ router with port redirection enabled to route traffic to the computer on our network that FileMaker is running on. So, port redirection in set to 192.168.0.2 and all works fine until OS X decides to change the IP address.
I've had a look at DCHP in System Preferences, altered it to manual and entered 192.168.0.2 assuming it will then stay at this IP address, but when I do I loose my internet connection.
Any ideas?

1. OS X does not decide to change the ip address. DHCP server (your router) gives out a lease time for the ip. When the lease ends, or if your mac is off when it ends and you boot your machine, your mac will ask for another ip and be given one. If 192.168.0.2 is in use, it gives next available.
2. Does your router let you define the dhcp scope. That is the block of addresses eligible to be assigned via dhcp?
If yes, assign your mac an ip address OUTSIDE the range of addresses eligible to be assigned via dhcp. Then assign the address manually to your mac, as well assign the dns addresses provided by your isp. Then port forward to the assigned ip.
Example, your router's dhcp scope is 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.100. Assign the mac 192.168.0.102 and port forward to the .102 address.
If no does your router give you the option to have static addressing instead of using dhcp?

Email address required for guest access

We have a guest network with a customized web page right now. When the user connects, it asks for their name and logs it to a RADIUS server. However, the user can leave this field blank and press enter to gain access. Is there some way to force a user to enter their name into this page before access can be granted? We don't want to enter a username for each user because there are too many. I found this page and this is what we want to happen (I can't figure out how to do it).

We would like a page like this, but the user MUST enter a name or email before proceeding. No password is required. Down the road, we will attempt to verify the email that they enter, however we are not worried about that now.

This is how we have it setup. However, they don't have to enter anything, the entry field can be blank and they can still be granted access. All we want is for them to enter something in this field before they are allowed on.

Setting up Load Balancing for 11i for Intranet & Internet Access

Our current environment for 11i (11.5.5) is accessed only internally (via Intranet). We need to allow outside access (via Internet) also for self-service apps (ie. HR). Oracle Support/Metalink has stated that Load Balancing (note 148155.1) is the only supported method to have multiple (Apps Servers) systems access a single database. Could I get feedback from anyone who has implemented Load Balancing for 11i? Additionally if someone has implemented this for both intranet and internet access how has your company setup? Do the secondary server(s) from the Load Balancing note reside in the DMZ? And thus the primary app server and database reside inside the firewall? Thanks....

Static Port Address Translation 8.4

Hello Experts,
Is the static Port Address Translation is bidirectional in 8.4 ???
I have configured static port address translation for the 2 server with same Public IP for the port 80 and 23. The strange thing is when they initiate a connection to the outside world they are allowed access to the internet as they are not included in the Dynamic Port address translation pool.

ISATAP Router connectivity for INTRANET resources...they still show fe80 addresses.

So, in following various troubleshooting documents, it has led me to this point.
I worked through the article DirectAccess Client Cannot Access Intranet Resources, which led me to the section
To troubleshoot why an intranet ISATAP host does not configure an ISATAP address because the intranet resources I've allowed both show a fe80 ipv6 address (meaning they are not getting configured via the ISATAP router).
I was able to walk through all of its steps without errors. I did have to alter it slightly as I'm not using ISATAP fully, but limited mode with a custom ISATAP DNS name that is pointing to the DA server internal IP address.
The next section in the article To troubleshoot an ISATAP router is where I run into issues. I go through the process, using my customized ISATAP name, which pings, etc. I get to step 8 and this is where it goes off the rails.
I do a netsh interface ipv6 show interfaces. I have TWO interfaces with the name isatap.longstringoflettersandnumbers
which each represent one of the two NICs in the server (One public one internal). The document states it should be the intranetDNSSuffix. So, I added the DNS Suffix to both NICs, rebooted the DA Server.
Question, should these be listed as isatap.something or should they be my custom isatapname.something?
My understanding is ISATAP.DOMAINsuffix is blocked globally by default unless I unblock it (which I haven't). I'm using a custom ISATAP name, lets say customISATAP.DOMAINSuffix. I have a GPO setup to enable ISATAP and point them to my custom
ISATAP entry for restricted systems. I can verify they get those settings because their isatap state is enabled and they have the custom isatap as their router.
But...they are not getting routable ipv6 addresses.
My configuration is as follows:
NLS - 2012 R2 Server
DA - 2012 R2 Server with Win 7 access turned on. Dual NIC, one internal and one external. External points to a F5 then out to the wild. Dashboard shows all green for status in my DA.
PKI - Setup and configured. Certs assigned (I believe, but I don't think Certs will stop ISATAP from assigning the correct ipv6 IP)
Win 7 Enterprise Test DA client - Can connect, shows as connected, but only resources I can get to is the domain controller, I can access the sysvol and netlogon folders. I cannot access other intranet resources.

Hi there - it is a recommended route to not use ISATAP as Matt suggested. The option / process I use which always works is to use a management server with a static ipv6 address (read native ipv6 as recommended). The easiest way is as follows. Go to your
configured DirectAccess Server and note the IPv6 address ending in 3333::1 . Now go to your management server and open up your LAN connection. Let's assume your management server is on 192.168.1.10. Open the ip6 tcp properties and add a static ip6 address.
Paste the ipv6 address from the DA Server in and change the last digit (3333::1) to 3333::10 to match the ipv4 digit. Set the mask to /64 /96 or /128 as per the DA Server. Paste the ipv6 address of the DA Server as the default gateway . Leave DNS Alone. Then
go back to the DA Server choose infrastructure and remove your management server. Apply the settings to write the GPO. Re-Add the management server and apply the GPO. Then reboot the management server, check DNS for an ipv6 address and you are good to go.

On UPnP and NAT (Network Address Translation)

Why UPnP is an often asked Question.
This article goes a long way to say why.

Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is an architecture for pervasive peer-to-peer network connectivity of PCs and intelligent devices or appliances, particularly within the home. UPnP builds on Internet standards and technologies, such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and XML, to enable these devices to automatically connect with one another and work together to make networking - particularly home networking - possible for more people.
*Are there other ways to solve the problem of NAT traversal? If so, why is using UPnP the best choice?*
Yes, there are other ways to solve this problem, but no other mechanism currently exists as an industry standard to address this problem in an automatic way for the consumer and in such a universally-applicable way for the developer.

Other approaches require either manual intervention by the user or they require special development efforts by the Internet gateway device vendor and the software developer to handle the NAT traversal needs of specific applications. As a result, UPnP is uniquely able to solve this important problem.
*Consumer does the work.* The manual intervention methods of NAT traversal require a consumer to use a browser, a graphical user interface-based tool on the PC, or a command line interface tool on the PC to change some settings on the Internet gateway device in the home. Further, many consumers may not even realize that NAT traversal problems are interfering with their use of services across the Internet. _The user may be attempting to play a multi-player game or engage in some other peer-to-peer service but find he or she cannot connect for some reason._ This leads to troubleshooting, support calls, customer dissatisfaction, and reluctance on the part of the user to try new services or experiences in the future.
*Developer does the work.* To avoid requiring the consumer to solve this NAT traversal problem manually, some Internet gateway device vendors have written and included application layer gateway support into their devices. This application layer gateway software is designed with specific applications in mind. In other words, the device vendor writes and tests specific code that will automatically enable one application to go through the NAT. If the application software is updated, the application layer code the device vendor wrote may have to be updated and tested again. This one-at-a-time way of chasing the NAT traversal problem is manageable for device vendors when there are only a few peer-to-peer or relevant applications to consider, but this approach does not scale well to 100s or 1000s of applications, can be very expensive to pursue, and likely requires specific knowledge of how each of these applications function. The better way to approach this problem is to have the device vendor add software or firmware to their device once to understand UPnP and have other devices and software be able to communicate with the NAT device using this same technology. UPnP is uniquely able to fulfill this role today.

Desperate help needed to configure WVC210 for remote access?

Hi, I'm new and desperately need some help on setting up my WVC210 for remote access.
I manage to setup and see images from my WVC210 using my home LAN via both wired and also wireless.
I have 2 questions:
(a) for wireless connection, i only manage to get connection to my WVC210 if i disable the wireless security from my router. But that means i'm opening my wireless LAN to everyone. How can i still get connection to the camera if i enable the wireless security from my router. (FYI: my router is 2Wire ADSL from Singnet Mio)
(b) how can i get connection to my WVC210 from outside or in my office? I type in the camera Fixed IP address (displayed on the front screen) on the web browser, by it shows a error page. Is there some setting that i might need to adjust ?

For Item (2) is there any difference between the camera built-in dyndns updater versus the software updater? I am under the impression that the software updater is easier to manage.
The biggest difference for you is that the camera always stays at the same location, and the laptop goes with you. Every time you access the internet from a different location with the laptop the software updater is sending the new IP address to dyndns.com. This causes you to lose access to your camera because the FQDN doesn't point to your home IP address anymore. Once the dyndns credentials are in the camera (or router) there is no management needed. The device will automatically update dyndns.com with your new IP address as it changes, and you do not need to do anything.
For Item (3), are you saying port forward 1025 is it for the 2nd camera only or for both? Or is it 2nd camera use 1025 and first camera use 8080?
Here's an example of what I mean:
Camera 1: 192.168.1.210 port 1024. In router, forward port 1024 to 192.168.1.210
Local Access: http://192.168.1.210:1024
Remote Access: http://bernards210.dyndns.org:1024 (Example)
Camera 2: 192.168.1.211 port 1025. In router, forward port 1025 to 192.168.1.211

As you can see in the above example, the dyndns name remains the same for remote access to all three cameras. The only change is the port number at the end. Your router will translate the port number to the IP address that the port is forwarded to, allowing you to select the camera that you wish to view by changing the port number in the address.
I was actually thinking that the camera web browser can show 2 camera at the same time. Is it possible?
No. Each browser window will display a single camera. You can however opens multiple instances of your browser to allow viewing of more than one camera simultaneously. A better solution is to install the Video Monitoring Software that is included with the camera which allows you to view multiple cameras in the same window.

According to the WebLogic (5.1) documentation, this could be done by opening port 7001 in the firewalls, and BIND WebLogic SERVER INSTANCES TO DNS NAMES. Setting up RV082 for TeamViewer access to LAN

I am deploying a small wireless LAN (192.168.1.xxx) at a remote site and would like to access a PC at LAN IP address 192.168.1.2 across the Internet via TeamViewer so as to monitor devices on that LAN. The wireless LAN uses about 12 Cisco Aironet 1310 bridges in a ROOT-NONROOT (I guess this is point-to-multipoint?) configuration.
Our ISP has given us a single static WAN IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and two DNS server addresses.
My intent was to assign our static WAN IP address from the ISP to our RV082 router, plug the LAN devices (including the PC at 1.2) into the RV082, and then use Network Address Translation (NAT) to forward TeamViewer traffic to the PC at 1.2. But the RV082's user manual says NOT to use the router's WAN IP address in the NAT table.
So I'm confused as to how to send remote TeamViewer traffic to the PC inside my LAN. Is NAT not the way to do this? Should I be using port forwarding instead?
I guess another way of skinning this cat would be to put a second NIC in the PC and let the second NIC have the WAN IP address so that it would be the first point of contact from outside, but that defeats some of my purposes for having the RV082 in the first place.

Hello Brent,
My understanding of Teamviewer is that you do not need to do any port forwarding. It is a client based software that will call out to the internet which opens a way for you to connect back in.
You should be able to install the software on a computer on your network and on a computer off the network. Using the account you create, you should be able to log in remotely from either computer without worrying about the RV082.

Unfortunately I had allowed icloud to hijack my airbook files, so of course I am afraid I will lose them tomorrow when I exchange my iphone for a new one and cannot keep an icloud account i cannot access. NAT for remote access VPN clients

I have a simple remote access VPN setup on a 2811 router. The remote subnet of the clients connecting have access to the local LAN subnet, but I am wondering if it is possible to somehow NAT those remote access users, so that they can go beyond the local LAN, and through the VPN routers outside connection, giving them access to other resources.
The remote subnet would need to be added to the NAT overload pool that the local LAN is on somehow, but since no interface is created, I am unsure where I would need to put "ip nat inside" if it even needs to be done, or if I am just missing something.
I guess really what I want to do is tunnel all traffic, and have that remote client IP translate to the NAT pool on the router for internet access.

MDT 2013: bootstrap.ini not applying username and password for share access

I customized my bootstrap.ini file to skip the welcome screen, set keyboard locale, and enter a service account username and password for share access. The welcome screen skip and keyboard locale work beautifully but it's not applying the share username/password/domain
at all.

Basics - Server 2008 R2 - SP1, WDS, MDT 2013
Well all, I've done this at least 20 times today and the deployment share info is still wrong...
Someone else built and messed with this thing so i'm trying to fix it. We have 2 MDT servers and 1 WDS that is on the Production MDT. I've turned the test MDT off.
It was working fine, until I updated the deployment share ... after adding some drivers for the surface pro 3 for the pxe boot
Very Simple bootstrap.ini

It continues to show up on the client as ||mdt901w8|deploymentshare$ (test server) (pipes for \ since it makes it a link and i'm new)
I've deleted all the .wim and associated files from all locations from the deployment share\boot folder and from the wds remote install\boot\x64\images folder where they are instead of the remote install\boot\images folder that everyone refers to.
I really can't figure this one out... I know it's something simple I'm over looking but I can't see it..
Any ideas..
