Addresses migration

Hi all,
I'm starting migrating a address base into my system via LSMW and RSADRLSM02.
I have some basic problem with this program RSADRLSM02. I don't know where to fing logical patch to log file. In specyfing files I configured converted data to be saved in DIR_Global and a inported data is in DIR_TEMP.
After read data and convert data I need to give path to log file and city file (in my ex). And this's the point where problem starts for me. I don't know how to define paths for thoes files. Maybe I know that the path for city file would be the same as path in step 7 LSMW, but what with log file?

SVM - Storage array migration effort

We have several Solaris servers which have both internal drives not under SVM control and Array based SVM devices built into filesystems.
We need to do 2 things:
1) Migrate internal drives to Array based luns
2) Migrate existing SVM luns to new storage array.
I found and read through the Admin guide for SVM, and it appears to address "migration" only in relation to creating a mirror for an existing volume.
What I would like to do is replace (or mirror) the underlying devices of an existing filesystem, not the entire filesystem at the top level.
Im much more familiar with Linux LVM, where I would add new PV's to an existing VG and use the pvmove command.
I don't see a similiar capability in Solaris 10 LVM so wanted to check with the more experienced folks on how to proceed with this array migration effort.

We are moving from an 10+ yr old HDS to a new VNX.
While EMC can physically move the data, I don't have any way to change the config on the SVM (that I know of) to use the new devices.
AFAIK I would have to do the migration at the SVM layer in order for the FS to be properly linked to it's underlying LUNS.
As for the existing FS on the local disk, that can be done by umounting the FS and moving, but I don't see an easy way to migrate the root volume without a rebuild of the root filesystem...

Html is not working properly

i was trying to work on texteditor to code a simple html page but its not working properly like the shows only two color on the background that are green and black
i dont know whats the issue but it use to work fine in mountain lion
i have even tried to use color code still it didnt work then i re-installed the os but the same problem again!
is there any special setting ?

Email setup problems

I can't get my main email address to work! I registered a domain name on Go Daddy and set up an email address. Everything worked fine. Then I set up a temporary webpage on business catalyst. Then I redirected my domain name to BC and set up my real web site. Now, when I try to use my email, nothing works. I tried to move my email to BC, and that doesn't work. I have tried to manage the email address on Go Daddy, and it doesn't work. HELP!!!

Okay. So I can't have business catalyst host my domain? I have to continue to use Go Daddy for that? I want to move everything to BC if possible. Right now, I have my website through BC (although I obtained the name originally through GD). And I have set up email addfresses through BC, with a paid account. But I am stuck with not being able to set up in BC my main email address. When I try to set up that address on BC, I get this error message: "Account details for this user can only be updated via the site where it was first created." So, I went back to GD and checked the box to have the email managed by another provider, not by GD. But I still can't set up the email on BC. This has been going on now for 2 days. Previously this email address worked before I migrated everything to BC, and the other email addresses migrated fine. I am at a loss about how to solve this problem.

Any disadvantages of using secondary IPs?

I can't seem to figure out what is the practical difference and what are the consequences of using multiple secondary IP vs creating multiple logical interfaces?
I was wondering if this would bother my router's VoIP functions in anyway?

IMHO, secondary addressing has one primary reason for existance: Orderly transition from one address block to another...then clients on both the old and the new addresses are concurrently operational. Once all the clients are migrated, the origianl address goes away and the new address is made primary.
Beyond that, any other use resluts in sub-optimal operation and performance.
All L2 broadcasts, from either/any secondary subnet, will be seen by all clients (L2 broadcast is all ones ... no distinction from the L3 address).
It doesn't give you any more capability for client count, it doesn't give you any additional capability for anything ... as mentioned, it can screw up your routing protocols and many consider it a security risk.
Using sub-interfaces is a fairly common way to address multiple PVCs on a frame-relay WAN, it's used with 802.1q encaps to speak with a trunk port on a switch (for VLAN routing / inter-VLAN routing).
There are still some adjustments to be made on how you implement your routing protocols.
Sub-interfaces have a couple useful specific roles, secondary addressing used for anything but address migration is a ticking time-bomb (IMHO).

Migrate WSUS server from 2003x86 to 2008x64, new hardware, use same name and IP address?

Searching through the WSUS forums and reading the TechNET migration documentation, I have bits and pieces of information to make this a smooth transition...I think. I have a plan in mind but
would like the communities input on what I am thinking before moving forward and having it blowup in my face :). <o:p></o:p>
I have the following currently:<o:p></o:p>
A single WSUS 3.0 SP2 server, running on Server Win2003x86, using the default WID (susdb.mdf) on the same server. I have SQL 2005 Express installed on this server as well for other services
but this has no bearing on the WID correct?<o:p></o:p>
What I would like to do:<o:p></o:p>
I have a new server (a much better one) that I would like to move WSUS on to, that will be running Server Win2008x64 (I have to setup first). <o:p></o:p>
Steps that I would like to follow:<o:p></o:p>
1. I will go through and setup this new server with all M$ updates etc... under a new name (ex. wsusnew) and DHCP acquired IP address and then power it down. <o:p></o:p>
2. Get on my current WSUS server and backup all current WSUS settings, groups, DB etc... to a network location for temporary storage. Then power it down.<o:p></o:p>
3. Delete the current WSUS server computer object in AD, DNS entry I will leave because my intension is to give the same IP address to the new WSUS server.<o:p></o:p>
4. Start the new server, static assign the IP address from the old WSUS server to this new server and then change the name of (wsusnew) to the old servers name, which should be ok sense I deleted
the AD object in step 3.<o:p></o:p>
5. After the obvious restart, the new server will have the same name and IP address as the old server. <o:p></o:p>
6. Now that the new server is up (with same settings name/IP as old server), I will then go through and install the WSUS role on the server and restore my WSUS information.<o:p></o:p>
Questions:<o:p></o:p>
1. Step 2 above, is it possible to do this, without making replica servers? I kept reading about this as I was researching doing this, I would rather just copy the DB and folders and simply
put them in-place on the new server.<o:p></o:p>
2. Step 6 above, restoring of the data, what is the proper way to do this in the scenarioI described? <o:p></o:p>

You can use the much more simple, much more reliable, and much more proven method of:
Install new server as a replica of the old.
Replicate.
Configure new server as upstream server.
Point clients to new server.
Turn off old server after all clients have redirected to the new server.
For everybody that has tried the backup/restore the database procedure described above, they have encounted complications of one form or another.
WSUS has a built-in and fully supported comprehensive replication capbility. use it! :-)

How can I make a migration copy of my email addresses for use in another program.

It is necessary to make a migration copy of all our email addresses for transfer to windows express.
Our office overseas can not use Thunderbird & needs all our email addresses stored in Thunderbird copied for migration into their windows express program. How can this be achieved.?
I think we may also need to transfer email copies too, can this be done.?
If so, how.?

Ok I have googled, I have found a windows cleaning company in Switzerland http://www.windowsexpress.org/About-Us.htmland something called Parallels Desktop for Mac with instructions for installing windows on a mac.
So I think we need to go back to the beginning with "What is Windows express?"
Email programs as a general rule do not "export" their contents into another mail clients formats. The normal procedure is to "import" the foreign format so there are some obvious questions
What formats can this mail software import?
Are your existing mail accounts IMAP or pop?
you can export email addresses from Thunderbird as CSV which almost all programs can read (including spreadsheets) From the address book select the Tools menu (Alt+ T) and select the export option

How can I migrate from Outlook 2011 to iCal and Apple Address Book in Mavericks now that synching is no longer possible?

Now that I am on Mavericks and no longer able to sync between my iPhone/iPad and Outlook 2011 on my MacBook Pro, I'm finally taking the leap (which I should have done long ago) and abandoning Outlook 2011 all together (doesn't help that Outlook now prompts me to rebuild by Identity multiple times per day). I am hoping to export from Outlook to iCal, Address Book, etc, but I would love it if someone could check my steps.
Delete iCal and Apple Address Book content -- Because I have old data in iCal and Address Book (that was synched before I upgraded to Mavericks), I planned to delete this data as follows:
Manually deleting my multiple calendars in the iCal app
Go to Go>Home>Library>Calendars and drag "Calendar Cache" to trash
Go to Go>Home>Library>Caches and drag "com.apple.iCal" and "com.apple.AddressBook" to the trash
Go to Go>Home>Library>Application Support and drag "Address Book" to the trash

As per your query I found a relevant solution for resolving this, actually I haven’t tried the steps you wrote here in your query. But I found a solid key answer for exporting from Mac OS X Mavericks (10.9.1) Outlook 2011 to iCal for Apple mail. This is possible through Drag and Drop method via this you can undoubtedly migrate Outlook 2011 Calendar to ical format.

I'm attempting to migrate files, address book, maile, etc to my new Mac Mini using an external hard drive and Migration assistant. I followed the instructions on using Migration Assistant to do this but Migration Assistant is not seeing the external drive, which is displayed on my desktop

I've been chasing this problem all afternoon. I had to reformat my internal drive on my MBP and reinstall Mountain Lion Start up assistant wouldn't see my extrnal drive with the Time Machine files on it. After many tries, I skipped the restore there and let the system boot. I could see my external drive from Finder and the files looked OK. I was told to use Migration Assistant and it had the same problem.
I saw a hint on one of these posts that the icon that you see and is label Macintosh HD is actually your backup disk and it is telling you that it has a copy of your internal Macintosh HD. I went ahead and told it to continue and it started to restore my apps, settings, and documents. It's been going for a couple of hours, and is close to being done. I expect to see my old system restored when it is finished.
Wish that Apple would put some type of note that it is seeing the backup. That is most confusing and seems to be a problem for lots of users.

How can I use my old MobileMe email address if I did not migrate to icloud by the deadline?

I had a mobile me account that I did not migrate to icloud. Now when I try and set up an icloud account using the old mobileme email address, it says that address is already in use. I then try and access it but the password doesn't work and it says mobileme is closed. When I try and reset the password, it says an email has been sent to the email on file...which is an old mobileme address that I cannot access.
How can I get this email address set up in icloud?

So here are the details in case, you can spot something more I could do....
When MobileMe was live
MobileMe ID was [email protected]
AppleID (to make iTunes purchases) was [email protected]
When iCloud went live (and MM was still alive)
iCloud account was created based upon AppleID - [email protected]
iCloud would not create [email protected] as was already in use (by me)
iCloud would not merge [email protected] as iCloud does not merge
MobileMe migration to iCloud option was not taken
Deleted all data out of MobileMe account (mail, calendar, contacts, gallery)
Deleted MobileMe mail account off of all devices
When MM died
I received notification that I had not migrated my MM account
iCloud was happily working as Contacts/Calendar sharer using my AppleID of [email protected]
Weeks later on Mac running 10.8
System Preference - iCloud, already logged in with AppleID of [email protected]
Then ticked the untick Mail box
Long wait with small grey whirling cog box, stating "Loading". Eventually a BLANK message box with OK which then disappeared on a timeout.
System Preference - Mail... Re-added [email protected] (now picked up as iCloud account)
Mail - Accounts.... Re-added [email protected] BUT got message "Mail can'y connect to the account..."

HT204053 The one alias I've had for over 5 years has not fully migrated over to iCloud. My account now shows 3of3 aliases available but I'm still able to receive messages addressed to my old alias. I can no longer send emails using this alias. Help!

For years I have been using [email protected] for business.
It is on my business cards, stationary and most of my closest correspondences are maintained off of that email.
The documentation I've read indicates aliases should be transferred over as part of this iCloud migration but this does not seem to be the case. My account now shows 3of3 aliases available but I'm still able to receive messages addressed to the alias. I can no longer send emails from this alias.

Thank you so much! I actually need help transferring my old address book with all my contacts and their e-mail addresses. I had trouble setting up mail so I used my internet provider's webmail to send and receive mail, but that is fixed now.
If I have to manually enter each contact, I'll do that, but it sure would be nice if there was a way to transfer the address book.

Migrated from MacBook Pro to new iMac. I have no address book application.

I had an address book app before the migration but do not have one that will work. The icon is not the normal app icon but a generic one like Audio Recorder's icon. I try to open but it won't open.
If I go to Mail I can open and view all addresses there but only within Mail, however iCalc won't open it.
How do I get it back or re-install without having to restore?

Exchange 2013: Problem with Default Global Address List after migration

I just completed a migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. The 2007 box has been decommissioned just last week. I have been seeing weird issues with our offline addressbook and global address list, since the migration, but always thought
it was related to Ex2007. Well the issues still exist and here's what i've found so far:
1. If any user goes to Schedule Appointment in Outlook, and they click the Rooms button (on the Scheduling Assistant page), we get a LONG wait (about 5 mins or more) and then an error that says: "The operation could not be completed because
an offline address book is not available. Download a copy of the offline address book." When i click OK, the address book is up, with the "All Rooms" list showing blank (we have 3 rooms in Exchange currently).
2. Now if I go to the Address Book in Outlook it opens to the GAL and it's up to date... I can also force an update to the offline address book after adding a new group or entry, so i know offline address books are being updated properly and
working. HOWEVER, if i go to any of the other address lists (besides Contacts and GAL) under All Address Lists (All Contacts, All Groups, All Rooms, All Users and Public Folders) I get the same error given above: "The operation could not be
completed because an offline address book is not available. Download a copy of the offline address book."
3. I went to the Exchange 2013 EAC and went to Organization -> Address Lists. Everything under here said 'NO' under the Up-to-Date column. When i looked at the properties on each list, and clicked save, I had to update to the new version.
After doing this, the Up-to-Date column said 'YES'. I could do all lists EXCEPT for the GAL. It still says 'NO'
4. The last thing i did was set my Outlook to NOT be in cached mode. This should give me a direct connection to the GAL and all lists, if I'm not mistaken... So when i do this, I cannot even open see the GAL. The ONLY option in the
Address Book that comes up is Contacts (which are my personal ones).
5. I just now ran Get-GlobalAddressList | fl in powershell on the Ex2013 server. I see some things that make me wonder... First; nothing in the RecipientFilter field, however, there is something in the LdapRecipientFilter field.
Second; the RecipientFilterType field says "Legacy". and Third; the RecipientFilterApplied field says "False".
Didn't know what these should all be, but it appears maybe this is the cause of all my issues?? Can someone help me out here.. even if i have to recreate a new GAL, i'm fine with that, I just don't know all the steps to do so. I just need it
to work!

In my opinion, it is better to confirm whether the GAL is good, first.
How about the GAL working in OWA?
If GAL working well in OWA, it seems the issue on the Outlook Client or Connectivity side.
Please trying to run Outlook on the safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall for testing.
Please follow the steps as below to narrow down the OAB issue.
Following are the locations that .lzx files in CAS server and BMX server:
CAS:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\OAB
MBX:
C:\Program Files\Micorosft\Exchange Server\V15\ExchangeOAB
Please verify whether the .lzx files update to the latest.
1. If the .lzx files in MBX server not update to the latest.
It should be an issue on the OAB generation side.
2. If the .lzx files in MBX server is latest, but CAS server not.
It should be a distribution issue.
1) Please run Get-OabVirtualDirectory command in EMS to verify whether at least one OAB VD exist in the org. If not, please create a new one.
2) Please make sure whether any setup for Web Distribution. Selecting the “Enabling an Offline Address Book for Web Distribution” checkbox.
3) Please force restart File Distribution services to distribute OAB files manually.
3. If the .lzx files in MBX server and CAS server are all update to the latest.
It should be the connectivity between CAS server and Client issue.
1)Please verify the network.
2)Please check DNS, MX, etc. configuration.
3)Please run “Test E-mail AutoConfiguration” to check the AutoDiscover details.
   Please make sure the OAB URLs are correct.
   If the OAB URLs are incorrect, please using following command to re-set them:
   Set-OABVirtualDirectory -Identity "ServerFQDN\OAB (Default Web Site)" -ExternalUrl
https://www.contoso.com/OAB -InternalUrl
https://mail.contoso.com/OAB
4)Please checking the App log and finding solutions from Microsoft Technet articles or KB, according to the Event ID.
5)If it still not working after performing the methods above unfortunately, please trying to re-build OAB Virtual Directory.
