ADDT Registration Wizard - more like the sorcerer's apprentice!

When trying to start the Registration Wizard it continually gives the error shown at the link below - the 'user' table doesn't exist. The login Settings panel shows that it clearly does! (see link here below)
All 'includes' and 'connections' have been properly uploaded and show up as they should on a Linux system running PHP4.

All I can say is that I agree. I wish these programs were still owned by Interakt. They were on top of things. Adobe has disappointed me with this purchase. It feels like they have orphaned the product. No recognition of these programming glitches. Unfortunately no one has been able to help me with my error, which recurs, even after a recreation of the pages in question. Others are finding the same error in forgotten password lookup as well. It isn't right to pay $200 for a product and then have to start paying immediately for tech support to fix something that is broken... Bad taste in my mouth and now Adobe is a monopoly... Jeff

Fax is like the Sorcerer's Apprentice sending multiple unwanted copies

Help. I tried to FAX a single copy of two different documents to a friend this morning, and each time it kept sending multiple copies of the document and would not stop until I manually told the modem to hang up. I only knew this was happening because I called them as I was sending it to make sure they wer receiving it since they urgently requested me to send it to them. If anyone has any suggestions about how to prevent this from happening in the future, I would really appreciate your input. I really don't want to be wasting people's paper by sending a bunch of redundant FAXes.
Another problem with the first document that I was trying to send, which was a web page, was that, the it should have contained more than one page, but it just kept sending the first page of the document, the first section of the web page. Do I need to save something like that as a pdf first for it to send all the pages?

After an hour or more on the phone today the Epson guy could only come to the conclusion that it's a hardware issue, leaving me with the decision whether to pay for a service visit or cut losses and go for a new, cheaper printer.

ITunes Has taken over my computer. It's like the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

ITunes won't stop opening of its own accord every few minutes and starts playing the first song on my playlist. I have tried all the usual rememdies and nothing works. I downloaded the latest update that put my music in the Cloud just a couple of days ago, and I can only imagine that this is related to that. Any suggestions? Right now I'm living with the sound turned off and it's a pain. Thanks

Do you by chance have speakers connected to your computer or an ear piece plugged in? Then that may be causing the problem, see this thread:

How to change the Firefox UI in Ubuntu to look more like the Windows Version?

Pretty much to summarize, I am a Google Chrome user who wants to give Firefox a try. I am on Ubuntu 11.04. Ubuntu originally came with Firefox, but when I installed the Oxygen icon theme, I then opened up Firefox, and thought ''"bleuch"''. The icons and UI was ugly, so I kept on with Chrome. A little while later, I installed Firefox on my laptop which runs Windows 7, and I was surprised at how much better it looked. I assumed it had something to do with the version of Firefox, so on my linux machine, I downloaded the 6.0 version, but it still looks the same. It's missing the pretty "Firefox" System menu at the top, the back and forward buttons were still hideous, etc. So my question is, how do I get Firefox to look the way it does in Windows?

The '''Menu Bar''' is one of the toolbars along with Navigation toolbar and Bookmarks toolbar. The '''Menu Bar''' is where the File Edit View Bookmarks Tools Help menus are located.
If you hide (uncheck) the '''Menu Bar''' then it will collapsed into a button much like the orange Firefox button on Windows.

My up and down arrows as well as page up and page down no longer work properly only when using firefox. Page up and down function more like the "home" and "end" keys as do the arrow keys.

Honestly I'm not sure if these began just after I updated FF to the current release, but it's been happening for at least 2 weeks. The arrow keys and page up and page down keys all work as if I'm pressing the 'home' and 'end' keys on my keyboard. This is only when using FF. Please contact me if you need more clarification. How to make the fonts in Firefox sharper so there more like the fonts in Google Chrome?

I'm currently in the process of moving from Google Chrome to Firefox, and I noticed that the fonts in Firefox are allot more smoother then what they are in Google Chrome, is there anyway to make the Firefox fonts look as sharp as what the fonts are in Google Chrome?

Quick selection tool doesn't "snap" to edges. It works more like the lasso tool.

When I try to make a quick selection it doesn't snap to the edges of the objects or the edge of the image.

My apologies - I "drilled down" the Adobe site through CC > Photoshop so I thought that information was picked up. I have found the solution in the meantime - I has set the brush size to very small - so I will mark this as complete.

How to list Playlist and ALL songs individually (not by album) like the older versions of iTune

Previous versions allowed you to keep the list of Playlists on the left and List all the songs individually on the right. Now if you're building a new playlist, it puts it on the right and lists the songs by albums instead of alphabetically by each song name. I can't seem to find it in the menus...is this view no longer available?

The main differences between iTunes 11 and earlier versions are the loss of coverflow and ability to have multiple windows open.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in theAlbum (Grid) view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 and later you can enable artwork in the Songs view from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view
View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) also contains options to change the sorting of grid based views
Select the Songs view and enable the side bar (CTRL+S) and you should find iTunes a little more familiar...

Make timeline more like Premiere Pro?

On Elements, the audio and video on the timeline are coupled, one right beneath the other. Is there any way to make it function more like the Premiere Pro timeline with audio and video completely separate?

Im just an anachronism. I like my complete, customizable and controllable Timelines, ála Pro. I did not use other PE versions before PE4, so do not know exactly when Adobe chose to move to the new, streamlined, sleek Timeline. However, I miss the old style, that gave me so much control. This is probably the biggest reason that I have not embraced PE (over my PP2), even for shorter Projects, like I had intended.
Now, I am not trying to sell one version, over another. I just like the way that PPs Timeline works and have grown to love and know its workflow. So much depends on what one is used to and how they like to work. I am just hoping that CS4 Pro does not go the way of PE, regardless of how nice it might appear.

Why does Firefox 4 look different on xp than Win 7. Some of the features described in the intro are not showing up like the firefox button top left.

When I loaded the new version on my office computer running Win 7 it looked like the promo but when I upgraded my other computers running xp it looks more like the earlier versions. What is the story people!!!

Note the menubar may be temporarily turned back on by using the Alt key even if the '''orange''' ''"Firefox Button"'' is displayed.
Firefox 4 probably by default does not dislplay the bookmarks toolbar, and will display the Tabs on top.
There are other changes; and some users do not like them, but in most cases firefox 4 can be made to look and work like firefox 3.6 if required.

Making InDesign more like Illustrator

I'm not the only designer that wished InDesign worked more like Illustrator. (I am sure the opposite is true too.)
Are there any Plug-ins for ID that can make it function more like Ill?? (shortcut keys, Tools... etc.)
There are many differences between both applications, yet they do the same thing most of the time. The programmers not want to work together??
Imagine if undo, cut, copy paste were changed to different letters? wouldn't that drive you NUTS?!

I can begin to explain how annoying working with images in ID is, it's nothing like illustrator. a plugin to change this experience would be the best thing to happen to ID since it's inception.
Adobe had a choice when they started ID, make it like Quark, or make it like an Adobe product. They leaned heavily on Quarks usability as that was the industry standard. Why Adobe hasn't made it their own yet, I still don't know.
Can we please move forward and make this Suite work together better please?

With regard to masking, I am referring to the interface. The image must always be in a separate bounding box in indesign. This makes resizing or moving much more annoying. changing the size of the image.. the bounding box, is always 100% even if you change that. Meaning you need to go in and select the image, and then go back and select the bounding box. It's just too many steps.
But yes, your point about why isn't ID -> PS -> Ill - ID
which is what I am asking for.
does anyone have a way of making these 3 apps more like the other?

I don't care if they are all like ID or PS or ILL... i just want the option to have them all more similar...

Navigator transition animation more like android default background animation

Hi,
I'm building an mobile Air app for my tablet.
This app has multiple screens and the user will be navigating through them a lot.
I'm using the navigator push and pop views to accomodate this.
this works perfectly with all the default animations.
My problem is that i would like the animation to be more like the default android background animation.
and by that i mean that one you drag your finger over the screen the next 'view' already comes into the viewing area a little bit (and your current view disappears a little).
If you release your finger to early the view snaps back, if you swipe through you go to the next view.
With the current navigator transition it's an 'all or nothing' swipe, if i swipe i get the next (or previous) view but i don't have the option to drag my screen a little bit to see the first part of the screen i want to navigate to.
Does anyone know of a way to accomplish this with the navigator?
Or am i forced to abandon the navigator and write this transition logic by myself?
I hope i made myself clear, any help is much appreciated.

AIR does not currently have an API to read this particular Android setting. To answer your question, Flex view transitions are independent of the Android system settings.

Swatches Pallette that behaves more like Illustrator or InDesign

Please implement a swatches pallette that behaves more like the one in Illustrator or InDesign - with the ability to group swatches, easily import groups of swatches from another file or .ase, and overall just be more friendly for editing and creating swatches for specific project use or client use. (also make it easier to delete groups of swatches)

There won't be complete consistency, becuase the applications work in very different ways. Photoshop's swatches are just a way to pick colors, not live objects connected to the artwork as in Illustrator and InDesign.
Also, each app has considerable history, and major changes to functionality aren't undertaken lightly.
And remember that each app addresses many different kinds of user: what may be appropriate to your workflow may hinder someone else's. (and we can't offer an infinite number of UI variants)
But that said, we have several requests to make Photoshop's swatches (and other presets) easier to manage. We have some ideas, but haven't had time to work on them yet.

Converting imovie 09 to timeline format like the Tiger 6.0.3 version?

I've been editing videos for a long time now, but its always been on my older iMac using iMovie HD (version 6.0.3). I LOVE this version, and I love what the new iMovie has to offer. However I personally hate the way the new iMovie is set up. I just want my old timeline format back, with the new effects that iMovie 09 has to offer.
Any help would be great!

Most owners of iLife 09 I know, are using iMovie 06 with iDVD 09.
iMovie 09 is a wonderful program assuming that you're using it for what it was designed to do, assemble simple videos to share on the Internet.
I also like the 'Final Cut' like Timeline of iMovie 06.
I use both iMovie 06 and iMovie 09 I find that iMovie 06 works much more like the professional programs available for Windows and Macintosh (true timeline). IMovie 09 uses a structure unique to itself.
