ADE does not recognize my Samsung Galaxy Tab Samsung SM-T310

I'm using Windows Vista, I updated ADE today, but when I run it, there is no device. Calibre sees my device just fine, and so does Windows Explorer.
Because of this, I cannot view or read the books I borrow from the public library.  (I don't use ADE to read, I don't read on the laptop (really really not an option for visual comfort reasons)). I just want to read the library books on my tab, so if there is a work around, would love to know, as I suspect my device is not supported, yes I checked the blog, and there is a generic listing on the 'supported devices' page,  Samsung Electronics co. LTD eBook Reader on Galaxy Tab Android
Thanks for reading,
Ingrid

FYI, I have ADE version 4 and can't get my ADE to recognize my Nook reader.  My mother, OTOH, has ADE version 3 on her computer, and just now her ADE did recognize her Nook.  The library book she downloaded this evening has now been transferred to her Nook.
My conclusion:  if your troublesome ADE is version 4, perhaps you could try uninstalling that version, put on version 3, and see if that version will recognize your device.

  • ADE does not recognize my device

I installed Adobe Digital Editions on my PC on the instructions of my library when I wanted to borrow an ebook, and authorized it with my Adobe ID.  Becuase I want to read the book on my tablet, I then connected my tablet (a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, model GT-P5110) and launched ADE as the instructions for transferring an ebook to ereader specify (see Transfer eBook to eReader | Adobe Digital Editions) but ADE is not recognizing my device, even though the computer itself is recognizing it.  I've tried several times with the same results each time and I am getting pretty sick of having my time wasted.  Help please!

  • ADE Does Not Recognize Import From Nook

I have loaded some books directly from B&N to my nook. The file format that B&N uses is the ISBN number, dot epub. For example 97803454.epub. However, when I connect my Nook to my computer when ADE is open, I am not able to drag and drop the file to ADE; I get an error message that the document is licensed to another user. I can place the file in the ADE folder through Windows Explorer and then add the item to the library, and the item appears but under status, "errors" appears and I am not able to open the file. All I see in the library is the ISBN number.
Is there a way to make this file recognizable in ADE.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

ADE does not ( yet ) support books purchased from B&N.

  • ADE does not recognize Icarus t701 tablet

In the Icarus manufacturer specification there is ADE recognize the t701 tablet device, but it does not. The tablet with Android OS is connected to the PC via USB, but ADE can not recognize it. It is sad, because I can't install ADE directly to the tablet because the Android does not support flash. What can I do to read DRM ePub files on my tablet?

Thank You for your answer! In the meantime the manufacturer has changed the specification of the device. The t701 tablet compatibility with ADE is no longer readable, but there is a solution of my problem:
"To read DRM protected content you might need specific applications, depending on the source of the book. One possible solution is to download the TXTR application from the Android market. You will need to register with them, but it will enable you to access DRM protected content on your tablet and other devices."
I've tried it, and it's really works, the TXTR software can authorize the tablet device with my Adobe account!
Anyway Adobe plans the ADE compatibility with the Icarus t701?

  • ADE Does Not Recognize My NOOK Tablet

I have searched the forum for answers, but so far no one seems to have the same problem I am experiencing. I have been using a Win 7 PC to download EPUB books from my local library for nearly two years with no problems. Seemingly overnight ADE no longer recognizes my NOOK. I have tried rebooting the PC, uninstalling/reinstalling both ADE 1.7.2 and 2.0 (I am now back to 1.7.2 after seeing other posts re: 2.0). I have unauthorized and reauthorized ADE, and it still does not recognize my NOOK when it is plugged in. The cord/connection seem to be fine; I can see the NOOK in Explorer, but not with ADE. I have also deleted the ".adobe-digital-editions" and "digital editions" folders on the root of the NOOK's drive to initiate the download process. No luck so far; does anyone have any ideas on next steps? Thank you

With Sony ereaders you must have some extra Sony software.
If you don't, you get exactly what you see; the device is seen in Explorer but not in ADE.
I don't know if there is anything similar with the Nook, but I mention it just in case.
    In the case of the Sony, the extra software is installed with Sony Reader software;
but you don't have to run the Sony Reader for the extra software to have its effect on ADE.
If for some odd reason you can't get the Nook recognized,
you should still be able to borrow books as usual and download the file using ADE,
and then transfer the .epub file to the Nook using Explorer.
As long as the Nook is still authorized with your ID, you will be able to read the books on the Nook.
A bit more of a faff than direct ADE transfer, but not too inconvenient.

  • ADE does not recognize NookColor

I have ADE installed on my computer and I can download ebooks to it.  I want to transfer the ebook to my Nookcolor but ADE does not "see" it.  What do I need to do to get ADE to "see" my Nookcolor?  Thanks.

I spent HOURS trying to figure this out and I finally fixed it.  It takes multiple steps.
    1.  First you need to delete the adobe.digital.editions file on your Nookcolor (because it loaded but did not register you need to do it again) See steps below
Connect your NookColor (NC) to your computer and then try to wake up your Nookcolor.  It should tell you it is now connected by USB and you can transfer files.
Once you see this, go to My Computer and choose whatever drive your NC is connected to (you will need tochoose Open Folder to View the files in Windows Explorer -  if it asks you that question)
Open the NC files in windows explorer
You will see a file folder named .adobe-digital-editions
Delete it (we will reinstall it later).  I promise it will not hurt your NC
    2.  Make Internet Explorer your default browser (don't know why but found this to be part of problem in my research) and close any other browser
    3.  Make sure Digital Editions is closed on your PC
    4.  Turn off your firewall (DON'T forget to turn back on when we are done!)
Go to Start menu to Control Panel and choose Windows Firewall
    Turn off firewall
    4. With your NC still connected to PC, Open Digital Editions on your PC
It should now ask you if you want to authorize a device (your NC) say YES!
Now when you are in library view of Digital Editions you should see MEDIA listed at the bottom - that is your NookColor
To add books in Digital Editions to your NookColor you should just click and drag the title of the book to the word MEDIA
Your books will now be on your NC and SHOULD be authorized (eliminating the credit card questions)
    5. Eject your NC from your PC (right click on the drive it is located on and choose Eject)
    6. Turn your Firewall back on (Start, Control Panel, Windows Firewall, On)
    7.  Wake up your NookColor (not connected to PC anymore) and check to see if you can open your books
Click on Library and choose My Files and then Digital Editions
You SHOULD see the books you copied from your PC
    Open Digital editions folder
Open a book AND IT SHOULD WORK!
Hopefully, this will help you.  If not, try deleting the old books you had tried to download before and start fresh.  You can delete them while your NC is connected to your PC and you are viewing the files in Windows Explorer - that is the only way to delete books from your NC.  I am a computer software trainer so I tried to make these instructions as user friendly as possible.  Good luck!!

  • Was able to move books to old Nook but ADE does not recognize the newGalaxy Tab4 nook that I got

was able to move books from ADE to my old Nook, but can not get the program to recognize my new Galaxy Tab4 nook.
If copy and paste, am unable to open......does not accept my Adobe ID

ADE doesn't recognize devices connected in MTP mode, the new Galaxy Tab4 might be connected in MTP mode.

  • Digital editions does not recognise Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7

Digital editions does not recognise my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. The device is authorised. Please help. Thanks

Your last post is confusing - and the technology is unforgiving.  So let me
see if I can piece this together....
Starting with the Tab 7.7: some manufacturers have devices that they
improve upon and claim compatibility because they're 'just like' XUY that
they made last year.  Sometimes this is true, but often, the user ends up
with claims and not much function.  Samsung is pretty good about this, but
you can't assume that, just because you can connect the Tab to your
computer and move stuff back and forth, that the programs on your computer
are going to work with your Tab - and vice versa.
The OS on the tablet is NOT compatible with ADE, so you can't drag and drop
ebooks as you would with other ereaders.  You have to use utility programs
to move the ebook to your Tab.  Once you move the ebook to the tablet,
Aldiko should be the program that you use to read the ebook.  In your
situation, all ADE is doing is retrieving the ebook from the source, and
    storing it on your computer.
You mention "software/apps that are available for DRM".  DRM is the copy
protection on an ebook.  It's a software switch built into the ebook's ID
file and all that it does is to tell you whether or not you can copy or
print the ebook.  ADE and Aldiko look at the switch when you open or try to
copy the ebook.  And if the DRM settings are preventing Aldiko from opening
the ebook, you're stuck.  Those settings come from the publisher,
distributor or author, not from either ADE or Aldiko.  You can try to open
the ebook on your computer with ADE and see if you get the same results.
You mention error messages.  I think, from the context, you're getting them
on the Tab when you try to do something with the ebook.  Any messages
relating to time relate to the settings for your time, date and time zone.
I'm guessing here, but I think your Tab's settings aren't the same as your
computer's, and that's why you get the 'expired' message.  The 'unknown
error' message may be from Aldiko - and we're not equipped here in the ADE
forum to deal with that one - sorry!  If the error message section of the
Aldiko user guide doesn't tell you either, then you might be able to find
out what to do about it from an Aldiko forum.
Your Overdrive comment has me puzzled.  I looked for some context in the
other posts in this stream, and I didn't see anything that helped.
Overdrive is a 'elibrary management system' that does much the same thing
as ADE does.  So, you can import and export ebooks via Overdrive.  Your
situation seems to revolve around how you get ebooks onto your Tab and then
get Aldiko to open them for you to read, and I don't know if Overdrive
    supports the Tab either.

  • How do I get Firefox for Android to recognize the built in camera on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7plus running 4.0.4?

The new Firefox works great on my Galaxy Pad, but does not recognize the built in camera allowing me to upload videos to the web. I do not have that problem with Dolphin.
When I go to a website that allows me to upload videos and click on record, Firefox states that I do not have a webcam connected. The Galaxy Tab 7Plus has two cameras, one facing each direction. I do not have this problem with other browsers.
    Everything else is exemplary.
    thanks...............biff

The native Android Youtube player does a much better job of handing video playback than embeded flash in a browser.

  • Highlighter has not been working in Adobe reader in my samsung Galaxy Tab 3.  Can you please help?

Highlighter has not been working in Adobe reader in my samsung Galaxy Tab 3.  Can you please help?

Update to comment - I found this thread that is related:
Did Adobe Acrobat Reader revert to this bad and nonintuitive way to highlight text? The highlight approach described in this thread - to select text with handles - does work, but it is truly slow and clumsy.

  • How can I  authorize my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook to accept my ADE e-books?

I have transferred my ADE e-books onto my new Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook (7").  However, when I try to open them, they ask for authorization (email address and password).  How can I authorize my device so it will recognize information and open my books? ADE doesn't see the Samsung Nook when I plug it into my computer, and the Samsung doesn't understand when I enter my information.  I'm running ADE version 2.0.67532.  Thanks for the help.

You will want to download a copy of Bluefire Reader from the Google Marketplace.

  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Not updating

I am working on provisioning several (3) Samsung Galaxy Tab 4's Model SM-T530, and one of them is not getting the latest system updates. It is stuck at Android 4.4.2, Kernel version 3.4.0-3235464. I have tried manually running the Update now, verified I am online, all that fun stuff.
This is the WiFi Only version, so it is not dependent on the carrier releasing the update, and the other two that were purchased from the same vendor at the same time, updated just like they were supposed to, and are now at 5.0.2.
What can i do to troubleshoot this issue? (Logs, check settings, etc)
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

Unfortunately, Adobe Reader on Android does not provide this functionality. You will not be able to add any comments to a protected pdf file. This is a limitation with all mobile versions of Adobe Reader.

  • Not finding flash in samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 with android 4.0... where can i find flash player?

hi, i just bought a galaxy tab 2 7.0 with android ice cream but i don't find adobe flash player
    where do i find it?

    Hi,
The list of Adobe certified devices can be found here:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-apps/flashruntimes/certified-devices.html
It does not look like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is an officially supported device. Also, on the page above I found the following statement.
"Please note: Flash Player will not be certified for any device OS beyond Android 4.0.x." Ice Cream Sandwich is version 4.1.
