ADF 10g on JBOSS, how is the performance & stability ?

Hi All,
We are considering to use JBOSS for our ADF 10g APplication, has anybody here using it ? how is the performance & stability ?
Thank you,
xtanto

think it's this one New beta bios for s939 K8N Neo2 Platinum added (7025NMS.151) see syar's comment in next post.
If there are any more recent betas than that try them, the link to syar's d/load page is in thread.
don't know - check the threads
don't think so - check the threads

    How is the performance of Mac Pro if i use it as host for windows and linux virtual machines.
    I am planning to buy a high performance PC to run my Windows and Linux servers as vitrual machines for my testing purposes.
    Initially i planned to build my own computer with recommended configurations but considering space constaints and cooling factors i think Mac Pro can be a choice. But need some inputs if Mac pro (Intel Xeon E5, 12 GB RAM) is good for running virtual Machines.

    You could even run Windows natively and still run your VM servers.

  • Gnome-shell with nouveau - how is the performance

    I have an old 8400GS and find gnome-shell's performance under nouveau pretty bad.  Is it my card or the driver?  If you have a more powerful card, how is the performance?  I'm no gamer but is there a more powerful (none fan cooled) nvidia card that's better?

    Looks okay.... guess my 8400GS is just underpowered for this driver.  I ordered the 450 GTS so we'll see

  • How is the performance for HashMap.get()

    hi all
    i just want to ask you guys how quick the hashmap.get() runs for a given key, if there are thousand of entries in the hashmap. thanks

    If you want to know how something is going to perform, write a tiny program and test it. Either put it on a profiler, or just put time markers around a big loop. Here's something that somebody (UJ, I think) came up with recently for comparing casting vs. toString after extracting from a Map. It should be easy to adapt to just the Map.get() timing. In fact, I think I added a chunk to do just that, as a control. Knock yourself out. import java.util.*;
    public class MapTiming {
        Random rnd = new Random(13L);
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            int numEntries = Integer.parseInt(args[0]);
            Integer key = Integer.valueOf(args[1]);
            new MapTiming().zillion2(numEntries, key);
        void zillion2(int numEntries, Integer key) {
            HashMap map = new HashMap();
            int ix;
            for (ix = 0; ix < numEntries; ix++) {
                int entry = rnd.nextInt();
                map.put(new Integer(entry), String.valueOf(ix));
            map.put(key, String.valueOf(ix));
            final int LOOPS = 10000000;
            final int TIMES = 5;
            long time;
            for (int j=0; j<TIMES; j++) {
                time = System.currentTimeMillis();
                for (int i=0;i<LOOPS; i++) {
                    String item = map.get(key).toString();
                System.out.println("toString= " + (System.currentTimeMillis()-time));
            for (int j=0; j<TIMES; j++) {

  • Nvidia 5200, how is the performance?

    Currently, I have a Radeon 9500 Pro video card, and no matter which driver I use (catalyst or open source), it freezes my computer dead.  In Ubuntu this really only happened when I did something with OpenGL (even glxgears) but since I've switched to Arch it has happened even while loading KDE.  Right now, I don't even have a xorg.conf file because that's the only way I can get my computer to load a GUI (I'm guessing that it is defaulting to using vesa drivers?)
    The point is that my friend is bringing me an Nvidia 5200 video card and I'm going to use that, but I'm wondering how the performance is.  I'm pretty sure it's gonna render things faster than my vesa'd 9500 Pro, but I know that my video card is actually much faster if I could ever have gotten it to work properly.  Does the 5200 support compositing, for example, without being slow?  Is having a slow video card going to hurt me in someway (I do OpenGL programming, but only small things).  Also, my current card is hooked up to my LCD via DVI, but the 5200 only has VGA outputs; how much of a degrade in quality will I see on my LCD?
    Thanks for the help.

    Alot of people on the forums seem to be having trouble with ATI cards recently so I'm glad I bought an nvidia card to replace an old ATI Rage card awhile ago.  Apparently nvidia and linux are a tad more friendly with each other.  I certainly had no problems setting up my card.  The 5200 is a little older than my 6200 and I'm not sure what effect the vga out is going to have but I'm sure you'll be happy with the nvidia card.
    After a recent nvidia driver upgrade I had to switch back to the nvidia-96xx driver for games to work properly so I'd say that you most likely will not be able to run the latest nvidia driver.

  • In sap bw with hana, How exactly the performance is improved ?

    By replacing oracle db with hana , are we installing new processors as well. Or is the performance we get is purely because of columnar storage ?

    Hi Mohd,
    This is a good question. Just replacing the DB or columnar store doesn't help.
    If HANA DB is just a data base on memory then everyone can just add more memory for existing DB or columnar store then most DB already offer columnar store ( Like IBM DB2 Blu Accelerator or MS Sql columnar, etc)
    It is a combination factor of HANA DB which optimised for both read and write operations along columnar store and data compression. In case of HANA DB sap is trying to push most of the process to database.
    All new BW modeling techniques ( ADSO or New Composite Provider) will work only with  HANA DB.
    General points why BW on HANA is more efficient
    1) No DIM ID in cube
    2) Change log tables can be converted into views ( optional )
    3) DSO Activation Pushed to DB
    4) Transformation Pushed to DB if no ABAP routines.
    5) No need of index for cubes
    6) Aggregations is no more required.

  • ADF 10g: addPartialTarget is not refreshing the complete PanelForm

    Hi,
    I have one table and one panelForm to display the values for the respective table selection. Also there is one delete button in the table to delete record from it.After deleting the record, in my backing bean class I am refreshing the table and the PanelForm as well to show the new record. But the PanelForm is not getting refreshed completely and many componets inside the panelForm are holding old values only.Please let me know if I am missing anything.
    this.getBindings().getOperationBinding("Commit").execute();
    OperationBinding requery = bindings.getOperationBinding("ExecuteWithParams");
    requery.execute();
    doPartialRefresh();
    public void doPartialRefresh(){
    AdfFacesContext adfctx = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    adfctx.addPartialTarget(table2);
    adfctx.addPartialTarget(testShScriptpanelForm);
    Thanks ,
    Gopa

    Thanks Simon,
    The issue got resolved by reseting the values of the components inside the PanelForm which were not getting refreshed before. I still wonder why this is happening to some specific input fields of the panelForm only where other input fields inside it are reacting properly to the addPartialTarget function.Please let me know if you have any clue on this.

  • How is the performance of Oracle Teradata Gateway?

  • Help to asses the performance impact of OAS and WLS integration.

    If this is not the right forum, please direct me to the right one for the below clariafication.
    We have developed a small application using ADF technology and this application can be integrated with the existing EBS R12 application. So, the EBS R12 application will be running in Oracle Application Server and ADF application will be running in WebLogic Server. And the customer who is implementing this, would like to know the below impacts before they start to implement.
    1) Oracle Application Server to Web Logic Server (WLS) Connection happens to view the ADF application, What would be Resource Consumption of WLS to handle this ADF application. They would like to know the WLS resource used by this ADF application.
    2) How does the Network/Data Traffic impact the Utilization of Web Logic Server and Oracle Application Server.
    Could you please help us in providing the feedback to the customer.
    Ans Is there a way to do load testing in our internal development instance to asses the resource consumption, cpu usuage and the network traffic?
    Thanks,
    Sugumar.

    Could some one help us?

    Hi all,
    I would like to know what the differences between Oracle and other NoSQL database are.
    When and why should we use Oracle?I suggest that you start here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/nosqldb/overview/index.html
    Is Oracle NoSQL database link with Big Data Appliance?Yes, Oracle NoSQL Database will be a component of the Big Data Appliance.
    Can we use map-reduce on a single personal computer? How should we install Oracle NoSQL database to use map reduce on a single personal computer?Yes, I believe you can run M/R on a single computer. Consult the various pieces of documentation available on the web. You may run Oracle NoSQL Database on the same computer that you are running M/R on, but it is likely that they will compete for CPU and IO resources and therefore performance may suffer.
    Do we also have eventual consistency with Oracle NoSQL database? Yes.
    Can we lose data if master node fails?If you run Oracle NoSQL Database with the default (recommended) durability settings, then if the master fails, a new one will be elected and data is not lost.
    Are transactions ACID with Oracle NoSQL database? How can we prove it?Yes, each operation is executed in an ACID transaction. The API has the concept of "multi" operations which allow the caller to perform multiple operations on sets of records with the same major key, but different minor keys. Those operations are also performed within a transaction.

    I am using Oracle 9i... You might want to start with a feature of SQL*Plus: The AUTOTRACE (TRACEONLY) option which executes your statement, fetches all records (if there is something to fetch) and shows you some basic statistics information, which include the number of logical I/Os performed, number of sorts etc.
    This gives you an indication of the effectiveness of your statement, so that can check how many logical I/Os (and physical reads) had to be performed.
    Note however that there are more things to consider, as you've already mentioned: The CPU bit is not included in these statistics, and the work performed by SQL workareas (e.g. by hash joins) is also credited only very limited (number of sorts), but e.g. it doesn't cover any writes to temporary segments due to sort or hash operations spilling to disk etc.
    You can use the following approach to get a deeper understanding of the operations performed by each row source:
    alter session set statistics_level=all;
    alter session set timed_statistics = true;
    select /* findme */ ... <your query here>
    SELECT
             SUBSTR(LPAD(' ',DEPTH - 1)||OPERATION||' '||OBJECT_NAME,1,40) OPERATION,
             OBJECT_NAME,
             CARDINALITY,
             LAST_OUTPUT_ROWS,
             LAST_CR_BUFFER_GETS,
             LAST_DISK_READS,
             LAST_DISK_WRITES,
    FROM     V$SQL_PLAN_STATISTICS_ALL P,
             (SELECT *
              FROM   (SELECT   *
                      FROM     V$SQL
                      WHERE    SQL_TEXT LIKE '%findme%'
                               AND SQL_TEXT NOT LIKE '%V$SQL%'
                               AND PARSING_USER_ID = SYS_CONTEXT('USERENV','CURRENT_USERID')
                      ORDER BY LAST_LOAD_TIME DESC)
              WHERE  ROWNUM < 2) S
    WHERE    S.HASH_VALUE = P.HASH_VALUE
             AND S.CHILD_NUMBER = P.CHILD_NUMBER

    /Check the V$SQL_PLAN_STATISTICS_ALL view for more statistics available. In 10g there is a convenient function DBMS_XPLAN.DISPLAY_CURSOR which can show this information with a single call, but in 9i you need to do it yourself.
    Note that "statistics_level=all" adds a significant overhead to the processing, so use with care and only when required:

  • How to Hide JBO Exceptions in JSF Pages in ADF 10g

    Hi All,
    How to hide the JBO Exceptions in ADF 10g, for example JBO-27122: SQL error during statement preparation. I have been used the same customizing error handler which was specified in bcadfdevguide. But the method reportexception which will call disableappendcodes is not doing anything in my case.
    I want to show some decent errors instead of JBO errors to the user, appreciate if you help me on this.
    thank you.

    Hi Jobinesh,
    Thanks for the reply, actually i am looking to show the user our own customized error instead of JBO errors, i don't know whether the method skipexception will skip it or i can override it to show customized exceptions. and registering the customerrorhandler in databindings is different from registering the customphaselistener class in faces-config.xml which was usually done in 10g.
    But in my case, even though i followed everything what was specified in dev guide, i am not getting the result. Hence this post in forums :)
    Thanks.

    10G NEW FEATURE-HOW TO FLUSH THE BUFFER CACHE
    ===============================================
    PURPOSE
    이 자료는 Oracle 10g new feature 로 manual 하게
    buffer cache 를 flush 할 수 있는 기능에 대하여 알아보도록 한다.
    Explanation
    Oracle 10g 에서 new feature 로 소개된 내용으로 SGA 내 buffer cache 의
    모든 data 를 command 수행으로 clear 할 수 있다.
    이 작업을 위해서는 "alter system" privileges 가 있어야 한다.
    Buffer cache flush 를 위한 command 는 다음과 같다.
    주의) 이 작업은 database performance 에 영향을 줄 수 있으므로 주의하여 사용하여야 한다.
    SQL > alter system flush buffer_cache;
    Example
    x$bh 를 query 하여 buffer cache 내 존재하는 정보를 확인한다.
    x$bh view 는 buffer cache headers 정보를 확인할 수 있는 view 이다.
    우선 test 로 table 을 생성하고 insert 를 수행하고
    x$bh 에서 barfil column(Relative file number of block) 과 file# 를 조회한다.
    1) Test table 생성
    SQL> Create table Test_buffer (a number)
    2 tablespace USERS;
    Table created.
    2) Test table 에 insert
    SQL> begin
    2 for i in 1..1000
    3 loop
    4 insert into test_buffer values (i);
    5 end loop;
    6 commit;
    7 end;
    8 /
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    3) Object_id 확인
    SQL> select OBJECT_id from dba_objects
    2 where object_name='TEST_BUFFER';
    OBJECT_ID
    42817
    4) x$bh 에서 buffer cache 내에 올라와 있는 DBARFIL(file number of block) 를 조회한다.
    SQL> select ts#,file#,dbarfil,dbablk,class,state,mode_held,obj
    2 from x$bh where obj= 42817;
    TS# FILE# DBARFIL DBABLK CLASS STATE MODE_HELD J
    9 23 23 1297 8 1 0 7
    9 23 23 1298 9 1 0 7
    9 23 23 1299 4 1 0 7
    9 23 23 1300 1 1 0 7
    9 23 23 1301 1 1 0 7
    9 23 23 1302 1 1 0 7
    9 23 23 1303 1 1 0 7
    9 23 23 1304 1 1 0 7
    8 rows selected.
    5) 다음과 같이 buffer cache 를 flush 하고 위 query 를 재수행한다.
    SQL > alter system flush buffer_cache ;
    SQL> select ts#,file#,dbarfil,dbablk,class,state,mode_held,obj
    2 from x$bh where obj= 42817;
    6) x$bh 에서 state column 이 0 인지 확인한다.
    0 은 free buffer 를 의미한다. flush 이후에 state 가 0 인지 확인함으로써
    flushing 이 command 를 통해 manual 하게 수행되었음을 확인할 수 있다.
