ADF: a question about Dashboard...

Hello everyone!
Suppose I have a dashboard with 2 columns and totally 4 portlets. The first row has portlets 1 and 2 , and the second one portlets 3 and 4.
My question here is the following: If I hide portlet 3, is it possible portlet 4 to expand so that it occupies the space of portlet 3 and 4?

if you talk about af:panelDashBoard the the answer is no. If your question is WebCenter / Portal related (as af:panelDashBoard can only host panel boxes) then you should ask again on teh Web Center forum

Question about Dashboard

I just got my mac for xmas and its the first one ive ever owned. I was just wondering if there is anyway you can change the settings on your dashboard. i live in kentucky but it has my weather location listed as knoxville and when it brings up the sports widget its always on hockey. is there anyway to change these settings? thanks.

Yes. Look on the widget window. You will see a little i in the lower right corner click it and it will flip over and give you a place to change the location. Most widget work this way if they have options.

Questions about Prompts -

Hi,
I have two questions about Prompt.
1) We have a dashboard with multiple tabs - We have noticed the Prompt Values copy from one tab to another. User doesn't want this to happen. Every tab should have there own default. Is it possible that previous tab prompt value should not copy to another tab prompt.
2) Is there a possible to have a prompt with Multi Select and Enterable field.

1)You can set the dashboard prompt scope to 'Page'.In this way it will affect reports present only on that page
2)you can make a dashboard prompt 'Multiselect'.By default it will be drop down.If you go to your prompt there are options for these configuration.

Question about inputting data to a pivot table

Hi,
I have 2 questions about using the ADF pivot table component (I would like it for data input).
1. Is it possible to paste into multiple cells (i.e. using cut in Excel for example, and then pasting the cells into the pivot table) ?
2. What is the recommended approach for the case where there is no data values (no rows on the database table)? For example, if I have regions, products, measures and time periods and then want to be able to select some regions and some products to enter new sales figures - and then create the rows on the database with save button, is there a recommended way to do this?
(Jdeveloper version: 11.1.2.0.0)

Right Click- About Dashboards in Same Window

Hi ,
When we right click on SWF file , I see "About Dashboards" button. And this button takes us to below SAP portal in a NEW WINDOW.

JDEV 10.1.3.1 "ADF security" questions

Hi,
We have a couple of questions about ADF security. Hope someone knows something about it. Any help is deeply appreciated. Jdeveloper version we use is 10.1.3.1.
1. Using the ADF security to develop the application, can we deploy it to the IAS and switch to LDAP (OID) or we are obligated to use system-jazn-data.xml on IAS as well? If we have to use system-jazn-data.xml on IAS, do we need to copy the exact system-jazn-data.xml file to IAS embeddedoc4j/config directory? Any other configurations we need to do?
2. I read some documents that say it is prefered to use LDAP(OID) and
that's what we really want on the IAS. So if the answer for question 1 is we
have to use system-jazn-data.xml, does oracle have any plan for the future to
change it? I guess my question is will that be possible for us to develope the
app using system-jazn-data.xml on the developer's station (for testing
purpose) and later on we can convert it LDAP (OID) when we deploy it on IAS.

yes.

No. Only make suere the users and user goup exist and copy the JAAS Permissions added by ADF security
2) There exist a migration utility to upload ADF Security permissions from syste-jazn-data.xml to OID. It is explained in teh OC4J security guide (chapter 7) whih comes with the Oracle Application Serber 10.1.3.1

PowershellGrid Widget questions in Dashboards

Question about SelectedRows / $globalselecteditems for Powershellgridwidget
I have a dashboard which has 4 grids.
1. The top grid shows the health of our servers
This grid is based on a Visualization!Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.StateWidget
2. The second grid displays the relevant databases for the server/s chosen in the top grid - note more than 1 row can be chosen
This grid is a powershellgrid widget
3. The third grid shows custom alarms for the database/s chosen in the second grid
This grid is also a powershellgrid widget
4. At the bottom, we have a generic details pane which at the moment only displays the details for the top grid which is Server Health.
This grid is a Microsoft.SystemCenter.Visualization.GenericDetailsWidget
My questions are:
1. Given that the powershellgrid widgets use $globalSelectedItems to pass context between widgets, how do you stop the second grid from deleting all rows if you chose a row in the third grid. It works fine if you have chosen an item from the first grid,
then the second and so on - chosing an item in the third grid will blank out my second grid
This is what I have tried - In my third grid which displays alarms, I have prefixed the "id" of the dataobject to include a nominal identifier so that I know what widget has sent the "id" with something like this.
$dataObject["Id"] = "Alarms" + $($i).ToString("00000")
So in my second grid I thought I'd be able to exit without losing the contents of the grid with something like the following.

Param($globalSelectedItems)
#Test what the item is so we don't lose our rows if item not related
# exit if it is not related
$anItem= $globalSelectedItems | Select -First 1
if ($anItem["Id"].Contains("Alarms"))

2. How do you pass a "SelectedRow/s" to a Generic Details widget from a Powershellgrid widget? Has anybody done this yet? I would like to display the selected row from whichever grid has focus. Also, unlike the Datagrid, the Powershellgrid
widget does not have a selectedrow/s properties so can it be done via another mechanism?

I am an HP employee.

My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday. I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank. When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message. The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.

Questions about using the Voice Memos app

I'm currently an Android user, but will be getting an iPhone 6 soon. My most used app is the voice memos app on my Android phone. I have a couple questions about the iPhone's built-in voice memos app.
-Am I able to transfer my voice memos from my Android phone to my iPhone, so my recordings from my Android app will show up in the iPhone's voice memos app?
-When exporting voice memos from the iPhone to computer, are recordings in MP3 format? If not, what format are they in?
-In your opinion, how is the recording quality of the voice memos app?

You cannot import your Android voice memos to your iPhone's voice memo app. You might be able to play the Android memos and have the iPhone pick up the audio and record it.

According the notebook specification Satellite P300-18Z has follow interfaces:
DVI - No DVI port available
HDMI - HDMI-out (HDMI out port available)
Headphone Jack - External Headphone Jack (Stereo) available
.link - iLink (Firewire) port available
Line in Jack - No Line in Jack port available
Line out Jack - No Line Out Jack available
Microphone Jack - External Micrphone Jack
TV-out - port available (S-Video port)
VGA - VGA (External monitor port RGB port)
Also you can connect it to your LCD TV using HDMI cable.
Warranty is country specific and clarifies this with your local dealer but I know that all Toshiba products have 1 year standard warranty and also 1 year international warranty. you can of course expand it.

Question regarding Dashboard and column prompt

My question regarding Dashboard and column prompt:
1) Dashboard prompt usually work with only for columns which are in subject area. In my report I've created some of the columns which are based on other columns. Like I've daysNumber column that is based on two other columns, as it calculates the difference of two dates. When I create dashboard prompt I can't find this column there. I need to make a prompt on this column.
2)For one of the column I've only two values 1 and 0. When I create prompt for this column, is it possible that in drop down list It shows 'Yes' for 1 and 'No' for 0 and still filter the request??

I think there was another way of doing this...
In the dashboard prompt go to Show option > select SQL Results from dropdown.
There you need to write your Logical SQL like...
SELECT CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN PERIODS.YEAR ELSE difference of date functionality END FROM SubjectAreaName
Here.. Periods.Year is the column which is already exists in repository's presentation layer..
and difference of date functionality is the code or formula of column which you want to show in drop-down...
Also write the CASE WHEN 1=0 THEN PERIODS.YEAR ELSE difference of date functionality END code in fx of that prompt.
I think it helps you in doing this..
