ADF app

Hi All,
I developed a brand new ADF application and deployed in weblogic server.
It works great.
When I try to run the same app in ipad (one with iOS 4.3.3 and another with iOS 4.3.2) safari browser, it does not work.
Does ADF application work in iPad at all?
Any thoughts?
Thanks

My ADF application is divided into 2 sections.
Top section using af:table list records from the view object.
Bottom section has a pannel tab form. Display details for the row clicked from the top section.
Both the section has some buttons like commit, rollback, display future data etc.
When the page is pulled up in iPad 1 running iOS 4.3.3, empty page with no data/button is displayed.
I can see all the labels, color - skin changes etc.
Thanks

    Hi,
Check if your wsdl endpoint can accessed properly. If yes, check the soap-binding address is properly pointing to the server hosting the webservice.

Is it have to do with the Deployment profile ? or any Data Control Issue ?

    Thanks Guys,
You won't believe if I say the issue because of a minute error.
for some reason the AMImpl.xml and its class files were getting created in different directory where as the DataControl was referencing the different directory, when I changed the proper directory for classes files to generate things started to work fine.
As long as the creating the deployment profile, I think I did right. So all is fine at my end.. thanks for your links, it was really helpful though.
    Thanks

  • File download from a portletized ADF app running in webcenter spaces.

    Hi,
I am having trouble downloading non static files from a portletized(with ADFPortletBridge) ADF application running as a portlet producer in Webcenter spaces .
    This is my scenario :
    Jdev : 11.1.1.3
    Webcenter : 11.1.1
The ADF app has a query page, that uses the af:query component to do a query and display results on a table. This table data need to be exported as a file with some changes like splitting address to component city and state columns .
The ADF app makes use of af:filedownloadlistener to get this(HTML formatted file with an .xls ext is our current preference to get it to open in excel, but could be anything) done . The ADF app works just fine, but as section 30.2.5.5 in the web center dev guide points out http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/webcenter.1111/e10148/jpsdg_bridge.htm#CACBHDEF
    > The <af.fileDownloadActionListener> component is not supported.
The actual behavior however is that the export happens when triggered, but the component keep serving up the same file it created the first time it got invoked every subsequent time. The same file is served even across sessions.
The alternatives I've considered so far are :
    1. <af:exportCollectionActionListener> - Exports what you see on the UI table. Would not work for us, because our exported data is different than whats on screen. (eg: whole addresses are displayed as a single column, but broken down as component city and state columns in exported data )
UPDATE : <af:exportCollectionActionListener> exhibits the same behavior as <af.fileDownloadActionListener> in a portlet environment. The first time after deployment it works, and every subsequent time (across sessions) it serves up the same file it first generated.
    2. redirect to a servlet - admittedly half baked idea - fiire an action that will generate the report, then put it in sessionScope , redirect to a servlet that would pick up the report from session and stream it to the user by setting the servlet's response content type. Very unsure if this would fly in a portlet environment (sorry, I'm new to portlets) and even if it does, section 30.2.5.2 in the web center dev guide says :
Do not redirect or forward a request within your JSP. JSR 168 only supports requestDispatcher.include(). The use of httpServletResponse.sendRedirect() or requestDispatcher.forward() results in exceptions and errors. Am I overlooking some feature that would let me do this or whats the recommended method to achieve this functionality of exporting a file generated at run-time in a portlet environment ?

  • Best practice tunning parameters for tunning ADF apps?

    Hi all,
I am tuning our 11g ADF app for around 3 billions (can be up to 10 billions records) and the concurrent connections up to 100. The app is running on a 16 core Intel chip and 8GB of RAM. The Weblogic used Rockit JDK. Any one have this experience please share and help me! I am considering what is the top ten crucial parameters for this tuning. Up to now I just have tunned some parameters from OS layer to app layers:
    - indexing for queries
    - open cursors, processes and pga memory
    - share pool for app module and jdbc pooling.
    - heap size of JVM memory only max value 1024 because of 32 bit Windows (Perhaps I must upgrade to 64 bit OSs to use more memory)
The app was tested with Jmeter with only 10 concurrent connection and the test case is logging in and query and logging out. It ran very slow. I found out that the weblogic server did not use CPUs equally (only 1-2 CPus were used)
    Thank you and best regards.
    Elton Son.

  • Oracle BPM 11g  workspace: how to add a link to an external ADF app?

    Hi all,
I have a process for which all the data is persisted in the db, and for Human tasks, I use ADFBC component.
For an existing instance, I would like to provide a link access (available from the workspace) to users (with right privileges) to be able to update some data ...
I thought implementing a new process with an Initiator HT...but this means, any time a user click the link, it will generate an new instance...
Then I thought maybe it will be easier to just implement a new ADF application to update my process data using ADF BC...
but once the application is deployed... I need to provide an access link to users from the workspace????
    how can I do this?
Globally, how to add an external link to an ADF app from the workspace application.
    Thank you.

Were you able to achieve this . Maybe this can help -

  • Customization of Human tasks the BPM Worklist App with ADF App

    Hi All,
We are building a custom ADF application which aims to combine several business process human tasks to a unified interface.
And how to integrate the Human Task Flow BPM Worklist to my ADF App.
    Otherthan that
To the BPM Worklist App we want to do customizations also like
1.Want to customize to apply our own custom skins to customize banner logo, title to the BPM Human Task Flow App.......
2.And based on the logged in user/role we wanted to restrict the features of the Work List App.
Say for Example should not provide the Facility to Add New Page if the logged in user is not an Admin, like wise no provision to add or modify or delete the Worklist Views like that...
How to get control the App based on User/Role
Any help or pointers would be appreciated!
I have ADF Experience from projects Using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.
But, for me this is the first BPM case.
    Renuka

    Hi Renuka,
There are basically two ways to create an ADF UI for a BPM Task:
    1. Generate it from the task
    2. Create a ADF Taskflow based on Human Workflow Task
Since I tell this by heart, I might be slightly wrong in the terms.
You probably want to try the second option. It is accessible from the "New Gallery". You'll have to provide the Human Task from the BPM project, but then you can build up the ADF Taskflow by your self, based on the customizations of the rest of your application.
Should not be rocket science for someone with ADF11g experience. Since it is not my dayly job, I need to figure it out every time again ;). But I did it in the past and it wasn't so hard.

    Martien

  • ADF app hangs when accessing through browser

    Hello ADF/Weblogic friends,
When I try to access the ADF app, it says loading... for ever, which was deployed successfully in WebLogic. I do not see any visible errors in the log. Verified the DB connection which was deployed is working. Also created the datasource for the same db/jndi name in the server level.
The same app works through JDeveloper(11.1.1.4.0)
Configuration details are "WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.4.0", "Oracle Enterprise Manager - Fusion Middleware Control 11.1.1.3.0".
Would be helpful if somebody sheds light on this issue.
    thanks

Thank you for your reply... sorry for not replying earlier... i had given up hopes : )
You are right about psadmin binary not being in psconsole.war.. maybe since it is portal server 6, it is some other executable.
When i asked the person who had given me the setup about psconsole not being available, he said that psconsole was working on his machine. He is not a technical guy and had not installed SJS 6 by himself. So he could not help me with this problem. It could be that the the psconsole.war file was missing from the installation.
I searched for the war files in both the installed directory as well as in the setup files and could not find it. : (
Anyway, i un-installed SJS 6 2004Q2 using the setup.exe (in windows) and while uninstalling it showed a window saying "psonsole was not found while accessing through the browser. Retry| Ignore| Exit". Also, the un-installation successfully removed all the services required for starting components like directory server, web server, calender server, (cacao also), etc...
I've downloaded Portal server 7.2. Let's see how that turns out... Thanks anyways...

  • File 'MOVE' Operation In ADF App.

    Hi All,
We have a requirement where using ADF App, we need to move a file from one location to another.
I tried using inputFile component and observed that using this I can copy file but cant delete the original file from source directory.
Do we have a component that does it?
I was also looking for a component like File Chooser of Java Swing so that I can do that in Java but cant find any such component as well.
How can I implement this in ADF app?
    Thanks.

    Mohammad is right.
Some more info about this might help you understand what is going on:
UploadedFile don't return a File but a wrapper class which give you access to the client file name and a stream object which contains the data send from the client. Depending on the size of the data send this stream resides in memory or is a file in the upload temp directory. The UploadedFile is only valid in the request you are working on, so saving the UploadedFile in a bean won't work as the stream is closed automatically. In this case you can only get the client file name but get null for the stream.
If you need the data longer then the request you are working on you need to copy the stream content into a temporary file or the DB and save the path and name to the file or PK to the db row for later access.
Now if you store the file temporarily you should delete the file if you don't need it any longer. This can be done using the code shown in the other thread. As you have saved the path and name to the temp file this should not be a problem.

  • Developing ADF app with JDEV10.1.3.5 on OAS with 10.1.3.4 runtimes?

    Hi,
I've migrated an ADF app from JDev 10.1.3.4 to 10.1.3.5
My query is, how does this affect the server? Do I need to update the server runtimes to 10.1.3.5 as well,
or can I leave the server running on its current runtimes (10.1.3.4) ?
    Any advice?

Well, it's certainly better to update the adf runtime too, as you never know when and how it bits you if you don't do it.
You can test it you, but as you need to do a full test leafing nothing untested it's simpler to update your OAS.

  • Sharing Weblogic instance with Forms and ADF apps

We have both Oracle Forms and ADF (10.1.3.4) apps that we are planning to deploy to Weblogic. We are looking for the best approach for the architecture. Our user base is small (30-50 users) and the concurrent demand will be low as well.
    Options we are considering are:
    1. Two separate Weblogic servers, one for Forms and one for ADF
    2. One WL server with 2 domains, one for Forms and one for ADF
    3. One WL server and 1 domain serving both Forms and ADF. We'd probably create the domain for Forms initially then deploy the ADF apps to it as well as the ADF runtime libraries.
Are there any tips as to what we should consider in making our decision?

    1. Two separate Weblogic servers, one for Forms and one for ADF
this will actually segregate the applications.. both application will work independently.. still have to consider about the memory leaks as running two separate servers will take lot of resources.. no common library files access..2. One WL server with 2 domains, one for Forms and one for ADF
rather good approach..works well.. still each will work independently.. no common library dependencies..3. One WL server and 1 domain serving both Forms and ADF. We'd probably create the domain for Forms initially then deploy the ADF apps to it as well as the ADF runtime libraries.
both application can refer to common libraries..

I would like to deploy a ADF Application to the weblogic server that was installed as part of BI EE 11.1.1.6.9. For this I need to apply 2 sherman patches to the weblogic server.

However check with Oracle if you can do a ADF Runtime installation ike -> [http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24902_01/doc.91/e24286/install_config.htm] on a new managed server as long as you are not messing with the Jdev version.[JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 ] for your new ADF app or patches.

  • Unable to redeploy ADF app and Java Cloud Console has errors

    Hi,
I was redirected to this forum by the Oracle Cloud chat.
I have trouble redeploying an ADF app. Yesterday the Virus-scan failed when deploying from Jdev 11.1.1.6 and directly from the Cloud Console. Today at first nothing seems to happen when trying to deploy from Jdev - it just blocks jdeveloper - but after 19 minutes and 33 secs it completed. The App is not working even though it may have completed the deploy.
When trying to look at the Java Cloud Console both the "Data Sources"-portlet says "Error getting Data Sources" and the "Java Cloud Service Jobs"-portlet says "An error occurred while retrieving Java Cloud Service Jobs".
    My identity domain is "triala2kx"
    Any ideas?
    Best regards
    Kim

I am experiencing the same stuck job on my java cloud instance - can Oracle support reset my job
If I try to start/stop/redeploy or add an application I get the following error
    "Information
The operation cannot be invoked because the service is running Java Cloud Service Job 170371. Wait for the job to complete, then re-run the operation."
