ADF Faces - ADFLogger not found

Hi guys, I am starting with adf faces and cannot solve a very simple problem....
I already got the adf faces stand alone (with the lib adf-faces and adf-faces-impl), but it don't works on netbeans, when I try to run my page the follow error was displayed:
11/02/2006 00:19:46 org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext listenerStart
SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class com.sun.faces.config.ConfigureListener
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/adf/share/logging/ADFLogger
Where I can get the oracle adf shared library?!?!? Or solve this problem?!?
Very thanks all
Giscard

I suppose this is a way to require download of JDeveloper. Why else wouldn't it be included in the ADF download itself? It's strange there's no mention of this in the documentation.....

    The FacesContext is created by FacesServlet which is
    definied in the web.xml with an url-pattern.
    If you just follow the url-pattern of this
    FacesServlet, usually /faces/ or *.faces, or *.jsf,
    then the FacesContext will be created.Hi balu,

  • ADF Faces is not supported on IE running in compatibility mode

    hi
    In the blog post "Running ADF Faces applications with IE 9 in IE 8 compatibility mode "
    at https://blogs.oracle.com/jdevotnharvest/entry/running_adf_faces_applications_with_ie_9_in_ie_8_compatibility_mode
    Frank Nimphius explains about headers to make IE browsers behave like a previous version (in compatibility mode), but ends with this support information:
    Very Important(!)
    ADF Faces is not supported on IE running in compatibility mode. If using ADF Faces on IE in production, make sure IE is configured to run in native mode. Compatibility mode may only be used during development if your IE version is not certified with the JDeveloper version you work with. In production then you need to make sure the IE version matches the JDeveloper certification matrix.Reviewing the Release 1 "Certification and Support Matrix "
    at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html#Browsers
    it currently says
    "For Internet Explorer 8 and 9, only Native mode is supported. View Compatibility mode should be disabled. "
    But there currently are no hits when searching for "compatibility" in the Release 2 "Certification and Support Matrix "
    at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/jdev11gr2-cert-405181.html#Browsers
    - (q1) ADF Faces is not supported on IE running in compatibility mode, how much of that applies to JDeveloper Release 2 and where has it been documented?
    many thanks

    Tony,
    guess that I need to have a word with them because they bouncing questions back far too often. Make sure you have the Webcache libraries provided and being a part of the project you deploy

  • Portlets with ADF faces does not work

    Hello
    I am trying to portlize an hello world ADF application but am unable to do so because of the situation describe below. I have tried all the options given on this post but nothing seems to resolve the issue.
    I have followed the instructions of portelizing at http://download-east.oracle.com/otndocs/tech/webcenter/files/owcs_10132_bridge_viewlet.html
    A simple portlets without AFD works fine in oc4h or webcenter or jboss, but when I include ADF in the project then none of the application server or the container works
    I am using jdeveloper 10.1.3.2.0 and the embedded webcenter oc4j for this test
    I have two projects
    1) ui where the ADF appplication is and
    2) test1 where the producer is registered and is tested
    In ui I have a simple jsp page untitled1.jsp with just one adf component (ADF Command Link)

    Hello dvohra,
    Thanks for the reply but I have done everything before I posted my message on this forum
    1. Is the Portlet Faces Bridge library in the project libraries?
    yes in both test1 project and ui project. ui project is where the ADF application is and test1 is where the producer is registered
    2. I sent the web.xml earlier in the forum. Yes it include the tags

  • ADF Faces Skins Not Working

    I can't seem to get my ADF faces skins to register at all. I have a css file, an adf-faces-skins.xml file, and a <skin-family> element in my adf-faces-config.xml file, but to no avail.
    One possible hint--I think I might not be getting access to the appropriate XML namespace in my adf-faces-skins.xml file. I can't, for example, get code insight to work there ("No insight available"). I'm using
    <skins xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfview/faces/skin">
    which looks like it's right out of the help. Am I missing a library of some sort?
    Thanks much,
    Avrom

    Yes, I have, and I don't see anything I've done substantially differently from there--with the exception of adding a new version of Faces to my project. I assume I don't have to do that if I'm using 10.1.3 Production (the HowTo says it's a "more recent" version of Faces, but it was written against EA 1).

  • Face time not found on my new device

    i bought a new ipod touch 4g but the face time app is found on it
    how can i get it or fix this problem?

    - Based on your user name could you have officially purchased the iPod from a mid-eastern country that prohibits use of FT?  If so then FT does not appear and other users have not been able to make it appear.  To check Google "facetime in (enter you country here)"
    - If the above is not you case have you check all screen pages and used the Spotlight search feature to search for the facetime app?  ALso, yu can hide the FT app in restrictions.  Check Settings>General>Restrictions.

  • Faces context not found

    hi,
    Created a sample application with struts-faces integration.i am providing the <welcome-file-list> tag entry in the web.xml.Now when i try to hit the deployed application, i get error "Cannot find FacesContext".I guess i am not supposed to provide the path "faces/index.jsp" in a html file(the way it is done in a pure faces app),since the <welcome-file-list> should take care of it.The sample app provided also does not go thru a html file.
    plz help.
    Thanks in advance.

    ok...i got the solution. Was trying to acces the jsp page without a "/faces" prefix.Thought it wae not necessary since you can give a <welcome-file-list> entry.but you have to.

  • ADF FACES: autoSubmit not allowed on af:selectOneRadio

    In EA13, the autoSubmit attribute is being disallowed (by the editor's XML schema validator) on an af:selectOneRadio control, even though it is documented to accept this attribute. This seems very inconsistent since the other "select" type input controls all support autoSubmit.
    If this is intentional, I'd like to submit a request to make this control support autoSubmit as it's the only consistent method to make view changes without diving into javascript.
    If it's not intentional, then I'd like to report it as a bug.
    Thanks.

    The documentation for selectOneRadio does not claim support for autoSubmit, because as of EA13 it doesn't. You might have been looking at selectBooleanRadio, which does support autoSubmit in EA13.
    EA14 has already added autoSubmit to selectOneRadio and a few other components, and should be available shortly.

  • ER - Problem with ADF Faces filter when running ADF Faces within a portlet

    I am attempting to get ADF Faces to run within Oracle Portal, i.e. within a portlet using the JPDK.
    This, I am sure you are about to tell me, is not something that is fully supported, as yet.
    However, I have been successful in getting MyFaces to run within a portlet, by customizing the form tag.
    MyFaces, it seems, keeps track of the current viewid by storing it in the session, then uses this within the viewhandler and navigationhandler to determine the next view to load, based on the faces-config.xml navigation entries.
    By customizing the form tag it is then possible to retrieve this viewid from the faces context and outputting it in the form's action parameter.
    It is also possible, with a few more customizations, to run JSF RI within a portlet, i.e. by adding a custom viewhandler and loading a session variable with the current viewid from the faces context, then retrieving the viewid and outputting it as the action string in the customized form tag .
    Unfortunately there does not appear to be any way of getting ADF Faces (EA19 version) to run as a portlet, with either the RI or with MyFaces.
    I have configured a basic .jspx document in the <showPage> tags of the provider.xml file.
    This uses only the form tag and a few input tags and works when executed directly within my portlet project in JDeveloper (http://localhost:8988/TestJSFAppContext/faces/htdocs/facesportlet/index.jspx) using a redirectfilter (*.jspx htdocs -> /faces/htdocs).
    It is not possible to run ADF Faces with RI as a portlet since customization of the ADF Faces ViewHandler appears not to be supported.
    When attempting to run this with MyFaces as a portlet, however, I get the following message:
    oracle.adfinternal.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilterImpl verifyFilterIsInstalled
    WARNING: The AdfFacesFilter has not been installed. ADF Faces requires this filter for proper execution.
    I am having difficulty in understanding as to why this is happening but am guessing it must be something to do with either redirect URLs or due to the .jspx files being under /htdocs, i.e. the ADF Faces renderkit is checking that the ADF Faces filter is configured but the check fails since the filter does not execute.
    I have configured the filter in web.xml, as detailed in the documentation:
      <filter>
        <filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
        <filter-class>oracle.adf.view.faces.webapp.AdfFacesFilter</filter-class>
      </filter>
      <filter-mapping>
        <filter-name>adfFaces</filter-name>
        <servlet-name>ADF Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
      </filter-mapping>
    <servlet>
        <servlet-name>ADF Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
        <servlet-class>javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet</servlet-class>
      </servlet>
      <servlet-mapping>
        <servlet-name>ADF Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
        <url-pattern>/faces/*</url-pattern>
      </servlet-mapping>and have modified the provider.xml file as follows:-
          <renderer class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.RenderManager">
             <renderContainer>true</renderContainer>
             <renderCustomize>true</renderCustomize>
             <autoRedirect>true</autoRedirect>
             <contentType>text/html</contentType>
      <showPage>/faces/htdocs/facesportlet/index.jspx</showPage>
             <editPage>/htdocs/facesportlet/FacesportletEditPage.jsp</editPage>
             <editDefaultsPage>/htdocs/facesportlet/FacesportletEditDefaultsPage.jsp</editDefaultsPage>
          </renderer>with the following tags also set:
       <session>true</session>
       <passAllUrlParams>true</passAllUrlParams>In order to ensure that the session stays alive so that the views are retrieved.
    As I say, the page loads OK when run directly within the JPDK project within JDeveloper, with a redirect filter (*.jspx -> /faces/*.jspx) but not when run from within Oracle Portal.
    In fact I have found that this filter is very sensitive, i.e. ADF Faces will not run in any project unless the configuration is exactly as above.
    It seems that the MyFaces team have got around the problem of maintaining session state with redirections but that ADF Faces needs the page URL that is passed in to the filter to be consistent.
    Is there some way around this, i.e. some kind of customization that I can implement to get the filter working?
    Thnks

    I have found a way to go round the problem.
    I use the servlet 2.4/jsp 2.0 route and then
    change the web.xml header to the servlet 2.3/jsp 1.2
    format. Everything then works fine after this!
    Please fix this for production.

  • ADF Faces  IF statement available within the  page?

    I am making a page using ADF Faces.
    I want to create an IF statement in a page that will display some markup on one condition and on another display some other markup.
    For example, I am using an iterator to build a table. I would like to have the background color of the row alternate based on the iterator count % 2 ( also how can I get the count of the iterator).
    Also, I would want to make the text color highlight based on some condition such as is foo==bar make the text red etc.
    Anyone know how to do this simple simple task in ADF Faces?
    **Note the if from JSF core is not available in Jdeveloper for whatever reason. Any help would be appreciated.
    Also, I don't want to just set some property of some element based on a condition with EL.
    Lets say there is a whole section of the page that I only want to show is a condition is true. Is this impossible in ADF Faces? Is there something fundamental I am missing about this framework?
    Edited by: user2809800 on Dec 6, 2010 12:49 PM

    For conditional rendering of group of fragments, you can use switcher component.
    See the sample for switcher here: http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/components/switcher.jspx
    Code:
    <af:switcher id="s1" defaultFacet="#{<CONDITION> == 'true' ? 'two' : 'three'}">
    <f:facet name="two">
    <af:outputText id="ot2" value="Two"/>
    </f:facet>
    <f:facet name="three">
    <af:outputText id="ot3" value="Three"/>
    </f:facet>
    </af:switcher>
    For changing the text color based on the condition, you could use the EL expression in InlineStyle (it is a simple case) Otherwise, you can use skinning to change the same.
    Sample:
    <af:outputText id="ot4" value="#{bindings.FirstName.inputValue}"
    inlineStyle="#{bindings.FirstName.inputValue == 'Steven' ? 'color:red' : null}"/>

  • Weblogic Portal 10.3.5 using JSF 1.2 portlets with ADF faces

    We are developing Portal site using Weblogic Portal 10.3.5 with JSF portlet 1.2 and ADF faces (ADF Application runtime 11.1.1.5 ). But the JSF portlets not supporting ADF faces. Please let me know how we use ADF faces in JSF portlet 1.2 in Weblogic Portal.

    Hi Murthy,
    We did a detailed analysis.
    (1) How do we add ADF taskflows, JSF in to weblogic portal desktop/pages? Do we create portlet out of JSF, and display on desktop/page? If this is the case, what about ADf task flows?
    --> Taskflows can be deployed as WSRP2.0 portlets. Note 2 options are there JSF page as portlet or taskflow itself as portlets.
    (2) How do we integrate weblogic user profiles and UUP (unified user profiles) with ADF and JSF?
    --> ADF Security can use Weblogic Server realm as the security provider. Entitlements in WLP will have to be provided based on Weblogic Server roles. In case you are using external LDAP then both can be integrated withe external LDAP
    (3) Can anybody shed some light which this better?
    (a) weblogic portal with JPF (Java page flows), NetUI --Legacy approach
    Pros:
    -Easy Development
    -Well tested integrated
    Cons:
    -Future support
    -Enhancements may not be available
    -Not really portable or standards based
    (b) weblogic portal with ADF, JSF?
    Pros:
    -If your on Oracle stack then great
    -Standards based
    Cons:
    -JSF Portlet bridge issues
    -ADF Faces does not work on IE6!
    Well what we are going for is JSR 286, Trinidad components (Supports IE6), JSF.
    Difficult choice.
