ADF Source Code Repository

Aside from the blogs of Frank and Shay, is there a searchable ADF code repository where people who have made generic tools can post their wares?
Something like SourceForge, but specifically for ADF-related items (possibly categorized by JDeveloper and Oracle version)?

@ user626222: Not looking for ADF's source code. Looking for repositories where people who are using ADF can post examples of useful items, such as mentioned in the other replies.

  • ADF source code

    Hi All,
How do I get ADF source code for my personal reference. I know of the route that we can get through oracle support by giving them authorised letter from someone in a position of VP. Is there any other way to get this individually?
    Thanks

Being yourself an Oracle ACE Director and Architect makes you no less being ;-). Yes, if I go through all the course material, examples and other online materials and have suffcient exposure, then I would agree with you. But trying to jump start, and coming across strange/odd issues, where either there is no documentation or less, then its difficult.
I can even cite an example of where you had replied on a problem in logging.xml, I had to spent 3 days on its to get solved!
And no, I dont intend top use the source in anyway, for production. I'm just trying to bypass, the official layer, and have the source handy on my HOME PC.
    Thanks

  • Using Designer as a code repository

    Hello,
I am curious as to how many users on this forum use Designer as a source code repository as well as for logical/ physical modelling, code generation, etc.? We're in a position where we have a number of repositories to store 'code', and what is in Designer is often not the 'master'.
I've always found the big weakness of CASE tools as code repositories to be the fact that, normally, only a handful of people in an organisation use them, and that most developers will just code by hand anyway. In addition, you need somebody with access to the tool to get the table DDL, or package or whatever.
I realise that it would be good practice to have somebody administer this kind of thing anyway, but I'm interested in peoples' opinions. We're (still) using v6 so I realise the level of version control is far less granular than later versions of Designer, and I wondered if this is a big hindrance for us in this respect?
    Thanks, Antony

    Hi Antony,
I would love to have used it - even with the version control of 6i/10g versions. However, as you said, on all the projects I've been on most developers prefer other tools ie: TOAD for writing the source code.
I find now that Designer has just been left behind and has no chance of ever being used for writing code.
If I was in the position of a brand new project with NO schema or PL/SQL what would I use? Dunno :) It may well be Designer to control the table/view definitions but would not be Designer for anything else (ie PL/SQL based). It might just be TOAD schema browser on a blank schema.
Would be wary of using v6 without version control switched on - it's a great feature - but a little too late :(

  • How to get full source code for Oracle ADF?

    Hi,
I 'm referring to the following URL http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/B25947_01/intro003.htm and it has mentioned that full source for Oracle ADF is available :
"Full source for Oracle ADF is available to supported customers through Oracle Worldwide Support. The full source code for the framework can be an important tool to assisting you in diagnosing problems and in correctly extending the base framework functionality for your needs."
Does anyone know how to obtain such information from Oracle support? Is this from metalink

One possible snag in the process is that you will have some legal paperwork to sign. Depending on your company's policies, this could pose a problem.

  • How to get source code of ADF demo page.

I have used oracle ADF demo site for demo work related to graphs.
I want to download the source code of this demo. I mean jspx file, backing bean and style classes.
Is there any way I can download this source code?I believe there is no sense to use it without downloading it's code.
I want to download "Area graph Animation" from below link:
    http://jdevadf.oracle.com/adf-richclient-demo/faces/feature/graph/animation.jspx?_afrRedirect=2611981845492287
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Jaykishan

This does NOT have .JWS file as
The demo WAR is a JDeveloper Project packaged into a WAR file.
So creating a dummy application or open an existing application.
Select 'File' ----> 'New' --> 'Projects' and select Project from WAR.

  • How to protect ADF Application Source code

    Hi,
There is an ADF Application which needs to be given to a client. The client will deploy the application.
How do i protect the source code giving to the someone from the ADF application. ?

An ear file don't need to contain java source files, but is can.
Sure you can create an ear without the source files. You define what goes into the ear yourself (source files are normally not included). The deployment descriptor you used to create the ear defines what file (contributors) are in the ear. Check the applications deployment descriptor and change it in a way that the sources are not included.

  • Auto suggest  AJAX component for ADF 10g: source code needed

    Dear all,
Duncan Mills has posted a very useful article in http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/mills/ajaxautosuggest/ajaxautosuggest.html about how to incoroporate an AJAX iput text field that can operate like Google search. This components derives from Sun Java blueprints.
The URL to download the jar of this component is [http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/mills/AjaxAutoSuggest/textfield.jar|http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/tips/mills/AjaxAutoSuggest/textfield.jar]
I have managed to incorporate it in my ADF pages, but to my disappointment, this component does not work well with non-english character set.
I have verified this from a Sun forum thread at [http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=787270&tstart=0|http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=787270&tstart=0]
The jar file contains only the class files. Does anybody have the source code so I can amend it to work with UTF-8 charactes?
    My email is [email protected]
    Thanks
    Dimitris

I have tried it, but when I create a tag library out of the Sun bluprint components, all my ADF pages display an error message that the JSF core tag laibraries are not installed

  • Who can have ADF 11g Source Code?

    Hi all,
Can I have the source code of ADF 11g when I buy ADF license and support for ONE user?

You need a support contract, open a SR, ask for the source and then sign some agreements on how to use the source code.

    Thank you

    Hi,
I think this thread accurately lists the available options for evaluation of the forms 2 adf migration.
How can i test forms2adf generator?

  • SMP 2.0 gm Source Code

    Hello,
I would like to request the Strobe Media Playback 2.0 source code.
I saw a demo page for SMP 2.0 gm and I need its source to embed some plugins.
I found the source code of OSMF and the source code of SMP. I found the 2.0 version of OSMF but for SMP there are just up to 1.6.
Even in the SVN repository there is no Tag for the 2.0 version.
Do you know where I can find it?
    Thanks in advance

Ok I got it. I managed to find the versions of the OSMF source codes and I did some tests.
That SMP 2.0 is actually SMP 1.6 with OSMF 2.0
    Best.

  • Project setup - what's best for source code versioning?

We're about to start developing a new portal and are wondering what would be the best directory structure. It's important to decide at the beginning because we're using CVS version management for our source code (we are currently using it for our ADF development).
Are there any issues related to directory/package structure? With ADF, we had problems when we wanted jsps from one application to call those in another application. To get around that, we had to put all of our applications within the same jdeveloper "project".
I'm keen to hear any suggestions - especially if you work in a multi-application environment with concurrent development etc.
    thanks,
    M

Since I don't have a Canon, I don't know the specifics of how to ingest media for that camera. But FCE does have the ability to log & transfer AVCHD, as I have done this with a Sony HandiCam and my Lumix GH-1.
The codec that FCE transcoded to, was AIC, Apple Intermediate Codec. FCE is 'fine' if you are not using 24p frame rates, as there are no 24p sequence options. (You can use 24p in a 25p timeline... but broadcast engineers will gnash their teeth on such botchery.)
This may or may not be an issue.
On the 'problem' of 'wyrd things happen when I whip pan my camera'... well, yeah... There are some industry standards about how fast objects should move across the field of view to avoid artifacts.
The "whip pan", namely quickly pivoting the camera, will produce strange imaging. While the technology and image formation is different, so the artifacts are different, but even for 'film film' there are limits.
One rule thumb I've run across is an object should take at least 5 seconds from one side of the screen to the other. Faster will result in artifacts, strobing, or in the case of digital cameras, 'rolling shutter' issues.
The motto of the day is... "Know thy camera"...
There may be filters to minimize or save the day if needed, but it is just better to shoot correctly in the first place...

  • View Source code

    Gurus,
I have a Schema APPLOWN that owns the application objects (tables,pl/sql objects,etc.). Like wise I have seperate schemas for BATCH,WEB,LOAD & DEV
The APPLDEV is the developer schema where the developer can use it for querying tables.
Now, How do I enable the developer to see the PL/SQL objects source code that are owned by APPOWN? What kind of grant am I missing for APPLDEV user?
    Please help.

grant execute on APPOWN.procedure_name to APPOWN;Even allowing for the typo this is not necessarily the correct approach. this allows the APPDEV accounts to run the code which is different from merely seeing the source code. Bear in mind also that being granted EXECUTE on a package allows us to see the source of the package spec but not the body (this is wht pacakages are so good for security).
So the question becaomes, if the account is not allowed to execute the code why should it be allowed to see the source? For developers the answer is presumably "to understand what the code does".
    The correct approach is
    (1) Decent documentation. Notice that I managed to keep a straight face when I typed that
    (2) having all the code in a source control repository. This is good practice anyway but does have the advantage that people can eyeball the code without changing the database privileges (which is desirable).
In the absence of those two good things the third option is for SYS to create a view like
CREATE OR REPLACE VIEW appown_source AS
    SELECT * FROM DBA_SOURCE
    WHERE owner = 'APPOWN'
GRANT SELECT ON appown_source TO appdev
    /Cheers, APC

  • Practices for maintaining source code patches for branch of OSS project?

There is this open source project I use and modify for my personal, private use...
I would like some best-practice/practical experience suggestions on methodology/tools to maintain a growing number of source code patches I have created for said software. (FYI It is generally not mandatory that I upgrade to new version of the software when it comes out. Sometimes I will use the version I have for several versions before getting the new one, and re-implementing my changes. And sometimes I don't even implement the changes; I just run it vanilla.)
Currently, I download the latest code from SVN, make my changes to the original code files, and keep track of my changes in a text file, which I then dutifully reference to re-create them when I feel like re-synching with the official version. What I would like to have instead is a separate base of code that contains just my modifications, and somehow include/import it as painlessly as possible whenever I get a new version of the official code from SVN.
What's the best way to go about it? That's why I'm here.
I realize these situations rarely, if ever, work out perfectly, and I can deal with that. I just want to improve on how things are, now, in anticipation of where I can see them going!
I have some ideas about how to implement this, but they are of the "naive" variety and I think any tips I could get on method or tools to use would go far. I mean ... is it as simple as declaring new versions of affected methods in my patch code and marking them "overrides"? Also, probably a dumb question but will SVN that will help me do this?
Thanks for reading, and any response.
PS - Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I am just looking for general, tip-of-the-iceberg type tips/links, so I figured folks could drop a quick answer here. TY!

The patch program on *nix or Cygwin does exactly what you want, and you can create the patchfile using either Subversion or CVS (and any other source control system that provides a diff).
Here's the article that I always turn to to create a CVS Patch (I have to relearn patching every time I do it): https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Creating_a_patch
And here's the equivalent from the Subversion FAQ: http://subversion.tigris.org/faq.html#patch
When I've worked for companies that did local patches, we kept a separate source-control repository/module that held our patches for the various OS libraries that we used. When we'd upgrade, we'd apply the patches and verify they made sense (if you have a lot of patchfiles, this can be a royal pain). And most important, once we had a patched upgrade, we generated a new patchfile from it (because, again, patchfiles become obsolete, and trying to apply a patch from several versions back can sometimes be impossible).
And of course we submitted any bugfixes back to the projects...

  • Recommended folder for source code?

    Hi,
I upgraded to OSX Lion - which was only possible after erasing everything on my system. Since I now start up with with a 'clean' account, I wanted to take the opportunity to optimize my source code organisation.
Since my sources are really checked out from an online repository, I don't think I should keep them in the Documents folder but rather in some other folder, like Users/guy/Development. Does this make sense? Any thoughts or experiences from other developers here?
    Thanks
    Guy

Sorry, it doesn't make sense to ask about saving in a local folder when you claim they sit in a remote location...
Whatever the location, as long as it is backed up reliably, you'll be fine.
