ADF Table filtering in JDev 10.1.3

Hi,
I wonder how to do ADF Table filtering in JDev 10.1.3. I know in JDev 11 have a query listener property but i want to know how to do this in JDev 10.1.3
For example :
Based on HR schema, i have a search form and table result in the same page.
The table result will give me the result based on filtering.
Ley say i choose radio button male, and the adf table will give me all male employee.
Or let say i choose department IT, the adf table will give me all employee within IT deparment.
Thanks in advance

Update :
All i wanna to know is how to :
ADF table can execute 2 or more query.
Example if i tick check box, then will run binding named query 1, if not will run binding named query 2.

  • ADF Table Pagination in JDev 11.1.1.4

    Hi,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.
    I need to implement the Table Pagination functionality. The below are the options that I tried, but they are not able o fulfill my requirement perfectly.
    1. Using <af: Iterator> component - when I use this the appearance is not like table data. and moreover in my table each row will have check boxes and input text area. Not sure whether these can be used in iterator component.
    2. Using <af: Table>, giving th evalue as #{bindings.EmployeesVO1.rangeSet} instead of #{bindings.EmployeesVO1.collectionModel} - When I use this getting the error javax.el.PropertyNotFoundException: Target Unreachable, 'bindings' returned null.
    I read that Pagination functionality is in built with JDev 11.1.1.7. But I cant use that, Should use 11.1.14 only.
    Could you please suggest the way or sample code to achieve this ?

  • HELP!!! ADF Table filters ignore space filtering

    (I'm using JDeveloper Version 11.1.1.6.0)
    Hello everyone!
    I have the default filters to my table for users to further filter the result.
    So, some of my columns contain empty records. Actually, they're not really empty, they contain a space for in the database we choose to use a space for every null value.
    Then, when I try to retrieve those results on my gui table, I enter a space in my filter but I have no change, it ignores the space and prints all the values.
    Any idea of what I can do to be able to get only those blank values appear?
    Thanks a lot.
    Life

    That will be a problem. This behavior is common to all Web applications. They remove spaces before and after words or character.
    What you can do is to substitute the space with another character,  e.g. '_', and whenever the user adds the substituted character you modify the query to search for space.
    A sample on how to do the substitution can be found here

  • ADF Table filter issue with OR or AND input value

    Hi all,
    adf:table filterable fields for OR or AND input value not works. Actually One of column is for State and it has "OR" value for -> OREGON State.
    and I tried using filterModel and queryListener for table attribute. But I am not getting exact clue where I need to fix for this issue. Any suggestion and help is appreciated greatly.

    Something like this might work for the one case:
    public void handleQuery(QueryEvent queryEvent){
        // Replace the OR with an equivalent condition
        Map m =
          ((FilterableQueryDescriptor) (queryEvent.getDescriptor())).getFilterCriteria();
        for (Map.Entry entry: (Collection<Map.Entry>) m.entrySet())
          if (entry.getValue() != null &&
              StringUtils.equalsIgnoreCase(entry.getValue().toString(), "OR"))
            entry.setValue("O AND _R");
        // Process The Query
        ELUtils.invokeMethod("#{bindings.VOQuery.processQuery}",
                             QueryEvent.class, queryEvent);
        // Put the OR back
        for (Map.Entry entry: (Collection<Map.Entry>) m.entrySet())
          if (entry.getValue() != null &&
              StringUtils.equalsIgnoreCase(entry.getValue().toString(),
                                           "O AND _R"))
            entry.setValue("OR");

  • JDev 11g TP4: ADF tables and ADF form pop-ups PPR?

    I was hoping somebody could help me with the following please.
    I'm currently having a bit of an issue with ADF tables and ADF forms embedded in a pop-up, where the wrong record is shown in the popup. I suspect it's a PPR problem but am unsure. My scenario:
    1) I have the following table:
    CREATE TABLE "CHRIS_MUIR_DELETE_ME" (
    "ID" NUMBER(5,0)
    "SOME_COLUMN" VARCHAR2(20 BYTE)
    CONSTRAINT "CHRIS_MUIR_DELETE_ME_PK" PRIMARY KEY ("ID"));2) I have a default ADF BC EO/VO combination for this table.
    3) I have an ADF Faces RC page with a read-only table based on this VO:
    <af:table value="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.collectionModel}" var="row"
       rows="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.rangeSize}"
       emptyText="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.viewable ? 'No rows yet.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
       fetchSize="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.rangeSize}"
       selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
       selectionListener="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
       rowSelection="single" partialTriggers="myDialog">
      <af:column sortProperty="Id" sortable="false"
        headerText="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.hints.Id.label}">
         <af:outputText value="#{row.Id}">
            <af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false" pattern="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.hints.Id.format}"/>
         </af:outputText>
      </af:column>
      <af:column sortProperty="SomeColumn" sortable="false"
         headerText="#{bindings.ChrisMuirDeleteMeView.hints.SomeColumn.label}">
        <af:outputText value="#{row.SomeColumn}"/>
      </af:column>
    </af:table>Note that rowSelection is set to "single".
    3) The page also includes a popup-dialog combo that shows the same data from the table (ie. they're based on the same VO) as an ADF Input Form:
    <af:popup id="myPopUp">
      <af:dialog type="okCancel" id="myDialog">
         <af:panelFormLayout>
            <af:inputText value="#{bindings.Id.inputValue}"
                label="#{bindings.Id.hints.label}"
                required="#{bindings.Id.hints.mandatory}">
               <f:validator binding="#{bindings.Id.validator}"/>
               <af:convertNumber groupingUsed="false" pattern="#{bindings.Id.format}"/>
            </af:inputText>
            <af:inputText value="#{bindings.SomeColumn.inputValue}"
                label="#{bindings.SomeColumn.hints.label}"
                required="#{bindings.SomeColumn.hints.mandatory}"/>
            </af:inputText>
         </af:panelFormLayout>
      </af:dialog>
    </af:popup>Note that the table's partialTriggers is set to the id of the dialog. This implies on return from the dialog, the table will update itself to reflect any changes.
    4) I have a data bound Create commandButton, + a simple Edit commandButton. The Edit button includes an <af:showPopupBehavior> to display the popup:
    <af:commandButton
        actionListener="#{bindings.Create.execute}" text="Create"
        disabled="#{!bindings.Create.enabled}"
        partialTriggers="table1"/>
    <af:commandButton text="Edit">
        <af:showPopupBehavior popupId="myPopUp"/>
    </af:commandButton>If you run the form with the following steps, you can reproduce my issue:
    1) Click the create button, this will create a blank record in the <af:table>
    2) Click the edit button and give the 2 fields values, press ok. Note this is reflected back in the table.
    3) Click the create button, you will now see another blank record in the <af:table>. Note that the current row selection highlight is on the new record.
    4) In the table select the original record, then the Edit button. Oddly the input form is showing the blank record, not the original record even though we selected it in the <af:table>
    This implies to me that I have to hook up a PPR event such that the fields on the popup know to update themselves when the user selects a new row in the table.
    I've tried setting the partialTriggers property for the popup, dialog and individual fields on the popup page to the table id, but this doesn't seem to work.
    Does anybody have any suggestions on how I'm meant to hook up the partialTriggers in this case? I'm at a bit of a loss to know what to do to solve this issue. Is it possible the table selectionListener isn't working?
    Thanks for your help in advance.
    Regards,
    CM.

    G'day gang
    This morning I had a chance to play with Pavle's suggestions, specifically the popup contentDelivery option, and it's solved the issue. Specifically changing the contentDelivery option to lazyUncached was the golden solution.
    As the popup component help states, the default functionality is: "lazy -- the default strategy described above. The content isn't loaded until you show the popup once, but then is cached."
    ....cached being the issue I was seeing.....
    While the lazyUncached options states: "lazyUncached -- the content isn't loaded until you show the popup, and then is re-fetched every subsequent time you show the popup. Use this strategy if the popup shows data that can become stale."
    The nasty thing about the lazy option is the fact that in the dialog it can show the previous cached result (even though you've selected a different record), and you can even appear to edit that cached result in the dialog, but when you press okay in the dialog and return to the previous table, it's updated the record you selected, not the cached result.
    Confusing, but not a bug if you understand the popup contentDelivery options.
    Frank, if you'd like it, I have the simple test case available to send you. But as it's not a bug I wont send it to you unless requested.
    Thanks to both of you for your assistance with this one. Once again your help is much appreciated! :)
    I'll take time out to blog about this in the next few weeks to assist others.
    Thanks & regards,
    CM.

  • ADF Table refresh odd behaviour: is it a bug?

    Hi,
    I am using JDev 11.1.2.3.0.
    I found a strange behaviour of ADF table, that looks like a bug.
    I am using the following scenario:
    1). I have a page with a table on it. The table displays the VO content and all it's columns are filterable.
    2). There is another more complex filter with one parameter. The filter is always applied in addition to all existing filters and is implemented in VO implementation class by overriding the  buildWhereClause() method. The parameter value is stored in the VO as a property, and the property setter is exposed via client interface.
    3). The filter parameter value is specified using Select One Choice component, the value is stored in the pageFlowScope variable (AutoSubmit=true).
    4). The filter parameter setter is binded in the PageDef file as a method action and obtains the value from the corresponding pageFlowScope variable. When user press a button, the filter should be applied. The button has PartialSubmit=true, the table has a reference to the button in the PartialTriggers.
    Here is some code:
    // MyViewObjectImpl code fragment
    private String filter;
    public String getFilter() {
      return filter;
    public void setFilter(String filter) {
      boolean valueChanged = true;
      if (this.filter != null && filter != null) {
        valueChanged = !this.filter.equals(filter);
      this.filter = filter;
      if (valueChanged) {
        clearCache();
    // Backing bean code fragment
    private RichTable table;
    public void setTable(RichTable table) {
      this.table = table;
    public RichTable getTable() {
      return table;
    public String onApplyFilter() {
      BindingContainer bc = BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
      OperationBinding op = bc.getOperationBinding("setFilter");
      op.execute();
      FilterableQueryDescriptor fm = (FilterableQueryDescriptor)table.getFilterModel();
      table.queueEvent(new QueryEvent(table, fm));
      return null;
    All works fine except for one thing: the 26-th row of the table always remains from the previous filter value. More precisely, this number equals to iterator RangeSize+1.
    Is this my fault or a bug?
    Thanks.

    Sorry, I forgot about the detailed instructions.
    1). Setup database connection to match the real DB server address, username and password.
    2). Run the ViewController project.
    3). Choose character 'a' in the filter and push "Apply". This will give the countries, ending with the letter a.
    4). Change filter to 'e' and push "Apply". This should give the countries, ending with the letter e, but in fact the second row is 'Argentina' (the first row from the previous query). Pressing the button again produces correct results.
    Thanks.

  • Refresh adf table and selection row

    Hi,
    I create web application. I have created entity Users from MySQL database and managed Bean. In this managed Bean (sessionScope) is method for connection to database and method for adding new row (data) in database. It works.
    I have 2 problems.
    The first.
    I have form for adding User and commandButton Add.
    How I can refresh (update) adf table after executing SQL command (in commandButton Add) ? Now I must reconnect session.
    The second problem:
    I want to show a panel with data from one row from adf table.
    How I can selection this row in popup ?
    My table:
    <af:table var="user" rowBandingInterval="0" id="t2"
                                                  inlineStyle="margin:20px 30px; width:578pt; height:160pt;"
                                                  value="#{userController.users}"
                                                  rows="15"
                                                  emptyText="#{bindings.UsersprototypView11.viewable ? 'No data to display.' : 'Access Denied.'}"
                                                  fetchSize="#{bindings.UsersprototypView11.rangeSize}"
                                                  editingMode="clickToEdit" rowSelection="single"
                                                  selectedRowKeys="#{userController.selectedUser}"

  • Delete operation is not working to delete selected row from ADF table

    Hi All,
    We are working on jdev 11.1.1.5.3. We have one ADF table as shown below. My requirement is to delete a selected row from table, but it is deleting the first row only.
    <af:table value="#{bindings.EventCalendarVO.collectionModel}" var="row"
    rows="#{bindings.EventCalendarVO.rangeSize}"
    emptyText="#{bindings.EventCalendarVO.viewable ? applcoreBundle.TABLE_EMPTY_TEXT_NO_ROWS_YET : applcoreBundle.TABLE_EMPTY_TEXT_ACCESS_DENIED}"
    fetchSize="#{bindings.EventCalendarVO.rangeSize}"
    rowBandingInterval="0"
    selectedRowKeys="#{bindings.EventCalendarVO.collectionModel.selectedRow}"
    selectionListener="#{bindings.EventCalendarVO.collectionModel.makeCurrent}"
    rowSelection="single" id="t2" partialTriggers="::ctb1 ::ctb3"
    >
    To perform delete operation i have one delete button.
    <af:commandToolbarButton
    text="Delete"
    disabled="#{!bindings.Delete.enabled}"
    id="ctb3" accessKey="d"
    actionListener="#{AddNewEventBean. *deleteCurrentRow* }"/>
    As normal delete operation is not working i am using programatic approach from bean method. This approach works with jdev 11.1.1.5.0 but fails on ver 11.1.1.5.3
    public void deleteCurrentRow (ActionEvent actionEvent) *{*               DCBindingContainer bindings =
    (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCIteratorBinding dcItteratorBindings =
    bindings.findIteratorBinding("EventCalendarVOIterator");
    // Get an object representing the table and what may be selected within it
    ViewObject eventCalVO = dcItteratorBindings.getViewObject();
    // Remove selected row
    eventCalVO.removeCurrentRow();
    it is removing first row from table still. Main problem is not giving the selected row as current row. Any one point out where is the mistake?
    We have tried the below code as well in deleteCurrentRow() method
    RowKeySet rowKeySet = (RowKeySet)this.getT1().getSelectedRowKeys();
    CollectionModel cm = (CollectionModel)this.getT1().ggetValue();
    for (Object facesTreeRowKey : rowKeySet) {
    cm.setRowKey(facesTreeRowKey);
    JUCtrlHierNodeBinding rowData = (JUCtrlHierNodeBinding)cm.getRowData();
    rowData.getRow().remove();
    The same behavior still.
    Thanks in advance.
    Rechin

    JDev 11.1.1.5.3 sounds like you are using oracle apps as this not a normal jdev version.
    as it works in 11.1.1.5.0 you probably hit a bug which you should file with support.oracle.com...
    Somehow you get the first row instead of the current row (i guess). You should debug your code and make sure you get the current selected row in your bean code and not the first row.
    This might be a problem with the bean scope too. Do you have the button (or table) inside a region? Wich scope does the bean have?
    Anyway you can try to remove the iterator row you get
    public void deleteCurrentRow (ActionEvent actionEvent) { DCBindingContainer bindings =
    (DCBindingContainer)BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry();
    DCIteratorBinding dcItteratorBindings =
    bindings.findIteratorBinding("EventCalendarVOIterator");
    dcItteratorBindings.removeCurrentRow();Timo

  • How to get edited row values from ADF table?

    JDev 11.
    I have a table which is populated with data from Bean.
    I need to save changes after user make changes in any table cell. InputText is defined for table column component.
    I have defined ValueChangeListener for inputText field and AutoSubmit=true. So when user change value in inputText field, method is called:
    public void SaveMaterial(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    getSelectedRow();
    SaveMaterial(material);
    This method should call getSelectedRow which take values from selected table row and save them into object:
    private Row getSelectedRow(){
    RichTable table = this.getMaterialTable();
    Iterator selection = table.getSelectedRowKeys().iterator();
    while (selection.hasNext())
    Object key = selection.next();
    table.setRowKey(key);
    Object o = table.getRowData();
    material = (MATERIAL) o;
    System.out.println("Selected Material Desc = "+material.getEnumb());
    return null;
    Problem is that getSelectedRow method doesnt get new (edited) values, old values are still used.
    I have tried to use ActiveButton with same method and it works fine in that case. New values are selected from active row and inserted into object.
    JSF:
    <af:table var="row" rowSelection="single" columnSelection="single"
    value="#{ManageWO.material}" binding="#{ManageWO.materialTable}">
    <af:column sortable="false" headerText="E-number">
    <af:inputText value="#{row.enumb}" valueChangeListener="#{ManageWO.SaveMaterial}" autoSubmit="true"/>
    </af:column>
    <af:column sortable="false" headerText="Description">
    <af:inputText value="#{row.desc}" valueChangeListener="#{ManageWO.SaveMaterial}" autoSubmit="true"/>
    </af:column>
    </af:table>
    <af:activeCommandToolbarButton text="Save" action="#{ManageWO.EditData}"/>
    What is a correct place from where save method should be called to get new (edited) values from ADF table?
    Thanks.

    Did you look into the valueChangeEvent?
    It has oldValue and newValue attributes.
    public void SaveMaterial(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
    Object oldVal = valueChangeEvent.getOldValue();
    Object newVal = valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
    // check if you see what you are looking for.....
    getSelectedRow();
    SaveMaterial(material);
    }Timo

  • List Binding is Not Working Correctly for an ADF Table

    I created an ADF Select One Choice for a field being displayed in an ADF Table - mutliple records.
    The issue I'm seeing is that all the records in the ADF Table are showing the same value in the field defined as a "List", but the field values are not all the same.
    It almost looks like the List is taking the value in the first record and assigning the value to all the other records in the ADF Table.
    Please help.

    The solution is explained here:
