Can anyone advise me of how to access data files on UCM in ADF fusion web application?

Send test mail not working in content server 11g(UCM)

I am using content server 11g and i have installed all the components required for email and also i had made all the internet configuration in (admin server -> internet configuration) according to my company mail server.
But while sending test mail from the administration panel i am getting the following error::-

They have obvioulsy placed some restrictions on the server to stop it being abused.
First try using a real valid email address for the Administrator address for the network. Otherwise speak to the sys admin for your SMTP/mail infrastructure and see what needs toi be done.

Content server (installation error)
hi,
I have installed content server (oracle+UCM). on Windows 2000+SP4 platform.
But the problem I am facing is.. when I try to start content server system goes idle.
Its not giving me Login screen. But all other applications are working fine.
Can any one tell me what the problem could be?

I had the same problem with an installation of content Server 6.4 on AIX 5.3.
I checked the file in modules using "file" command and the result is :
"for apache" mod_access.so: executable (RISC System/6000) or object module not stripped
"for Content Server" mod_sapcs2.o: 64-bit XCOFF executable or object module not stripped
I think that the apache was not compiled in 64 bits.
Also, i want to compiled Apache file in 64 Bit but i did not find the procedure or command.
Could you give me more informations to solve it

Unable to full text index the contents in Oracle 11g UCM
Hi,
I am new to the Oracle UCM 11g.
i am unable to full text index the content files that are check-in into the Oracle UCM.
I have added the below entries in config.cfg file:
SearchIndexerEngineName=OracleTextSearch
IndexerDatabaseProviderName= SystemDatabase
AdditionalEscapeChars=-;#
While performing the indexing operation using Repository Manager only, metadata of the content files are indexed, but full text is not getting indexed.
What is missing here in Oracle UCM for not fulltext indexing the contents? What configurations do i need to do for this so that i can search perform the full text search on the Contents in Oracle UCM?

Collection rebuild cycle runs perfectly fine. After enabling tracing for Indexer and systemdatabse, i got the below info in the log:
"Finished rebuilding the search index with a total of 123 files successfully indexed. A total of 0 files had a full text index."

Cannot find Component Server in UCM
I want to enable some components for my UCM.
According to the Oracle Administrator Guide, I log in to EM of Content Management, and navigate to Admin Server:
Content Management - Universal Content Management - Content Server - Oracle Universal Content Management Inbound Refinery(IBR_server1)
But I could not find the Component Server there, and no Integration, only 3 windows: General, Resource Center, All Services.
I don't know whether I used the wrong path or the server got installed wrong.

How to identify the files that are exported but still present in Oracle UCM
Hello All,
I am using Oracle UCM 11g on Windows OS.
I want to know that if i have exported the contents from Oracle UCM to external file system, but keeping the contents and metadata into the Oracle UCM. How one will be able to identify that the contents that are being exported? Will there be any attribute set for any such contents indicating that these contents were exported?
Your help or hint will help me out in resolving the problem.

Oracle Content Server Security with Web Center Suite
Hi all
I've configured Oracle Content Server (UCM) to integrate with WebCenter Spaces (WCS). The document service works on a user's personal page but fails on group spaces and when I troll the logs I find the following error:

Caused By: javax.jcr.ItemNotFoundException: Unable to get folder info for dCollectionID = 288463355527000401
Caused By: oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException: Unable to display virtual folder information. Cannot read folder.
I am using a socket connection, not web or SSL.
UCM is on an external server and not on the same machine as WCS.
UCM is 11g and WCS 11g patchset 2. Yes I know UCM 11g is not "officially" supported to integrate with WCS until patchset 3, but others have gotten it to work, so I'd like to do the same.
On UCM machine OHS (from web tier utilities) is installed and comfigured.
httpd.conf edited as per requirement.
config.cfg and intradoc.cfg edited as per requirement.
Admin user on UCM has admin and sysmanager rights.
I think this may be because the UCM uses the internal default LDAP first (i.e. it is first on the list of providers) because it does not have an admin user in the external LDAP. So even though in the service connection I specify the UCM admin i think it must also be able to find this user in the external LDAP on the WCS side.
I am currently having trouble figuring out how to give an external LDAP user the same permissions on UCM as that which the default internal LDAP admin user has, so that I can use that external LDAP user in the services connection setup instead.
With WCS under the Fusionware EM is simply added an external LDAP user to the domain for the webcenter section, but for UCM I'm not sure where the appropriate place is to add such a user.
I am also not 100% sure if this is actually the issue.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

2. Created content repository connection using File System..
3. Created new page using default Template.
4. Drag drop Document List Viewer TaskFlow and setup the content server connection.
5. After running the application , i can see list of documents link in page..
6. But When I click on any link ..browser automaically close..
7.On server console I am getting above mentioned error..
I am using jdev 11.1.1.5 and running on internal weblogic server...

Error while Setting Up Oracle Content Server to Send Jobs to Oracle IBR

I am trying to configure Oracle Content Server to send jobs to IBR.
I am using following version of UCM:
11gR1-11.1.1.3.0-idcprod1-100505T121221 (Build:7.3.0.180)
Both UCM and IBR are using same WAS domain. Installed on Windows server 2008.
1.I have started both manged servers for UCM and IBR.
2.Then by browsing IBR console http://vpunvfpctnsz-07:16250/ibr/ , i have changed the
Incoming Socket Connection Address Security Filter:

3.Enabled DAMConverter component on IBR
4.Restarted IBR.

Server Port: 16250
This should be the value of IntradocServerPort for IBR server .
By default it is 5555 .
Replace 16250 with 5555 (if you have not changed it ) .
Save the changes , restart UCM managed server .
Test to see if the error shows up .

Content Server UCM 11.1.1.6
Anyways, I activated the folder_g in UCM 11.1.1.6 and now able to see the Contribution Folder in Jdev content repository connection as well as able to see the my created folder and file in Services ----> Content Tab I click Administration link of my application.
When I ADD Content Presenter and then ADD a text file from UCM to this CP ---- it displays text file content correctly.
But when I try to ADD .html file that is present in UCM to Content Presenter and try View this page, it display following error ............ why this error only for html page within Content Presenter ???

Last question : I hear that with UCM 11.1.1.6 onwards, they say do not use folder_g So what is the folder we should use instead ??? and how to enable this folder ??

This Oracle WebCenter Content instance has both Folders_g and FrameworkFolders enabled. Having both enabled is not a supported configuration and some features will not work correctly, including webdav access. One of these components should be disabled for production use. FrameworkFolders replaces Folders_g and is therefore the preferred foldering solution as of 2011.
Also, I am --------- 11.1.1.6 if I disable folder_g and just keep FrameworkFolders enabled, the I am JUST not able to see the folders and files in my Jdev connection as well as via portal. so what is going on ? pl helpThere is no webserver. I have webcenter 11.1.1.6 and UCM 11.1.1.16
Also, I am not using spaces. I just created a quick webcenter portal application using Jdev and then trying to PUT the index.html from UCM into content presenter which i have already dropped on my jspx page

1> Since not using spaces, I do not need folder_g. THEn pl tell me what i should enable (instead of folder_g) in UCM and how, so that I will be able to SEE my .html present in UCM into my portal (OR even in Jdev content server connection ) ??? If I disable Folder_g then i am not even able to see UCM files in portal.
2> I am not using any web server. If that is needed ?? then can you pl send steps how to enable it and then be able to SEE and drop html in Content Presenter in 11.1.1.6 ?

Recover deleted document from Oracle content server
Hi All,
I've deleted some of documents from oracle content server mistakenly. I am using oracle ucm11g.
I found that we have a feature called "Trash bin". Trash-bin used for recover the deleted document/folder but unluckily settings for "Trash Bin" is disabled in my UCM folder configuration.
Is there any other way to recover?
Please kindly help me on this. It's an urgent production issue, please.

If you still can see your items there, you could recover the status.
If not, I'm afraid your documents are gone from UCM. In that case, you might recover them from a back-up. There is also a chance that documents are still present in the Vault directory, so rather than 'recover', you might 're-submit' them. -
How to create Discussions Task Flow Based on Oracle Content Server
Hi,
I need to create an ADF application consisting of the following aspects:
1) Upload, Download and Share documents (I'm using Documents Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
2) Create discussion threads and forums (I'm trying to use Discussion Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
3) User should be able to do an universal search i.e search both documents and discussions forums. (I'm using Search Services provided by WebCenter Jdeveloper Extensions)
I'm using "Oracle Content Server 10g for WebCenter" to manage my documents and discussions. While logging into GUI of OCS, I'm able to create and post discussion threads.
But, I'm unable to create discussions adf task flow based on Oracle Content Server.
The demos/tutorials/dev guides provided at http://webcenter.oracle.com have only described using WLS_Services managed server which is created and setup using WC Suite 11g.
But I couldn't find any information to develop these discussion services using Jdeveloper WebCenter Extensions and Oracle Content Server.
Please let me know, if anyone has tried this or if you have any idea of how to go about it.

Oracle Text Search Enabling, Content Server does not start
We are trying to enable Oracle Text Search in UCM 11g that uses 11g Database. We followed instructions to add parameter 'SearchIndexEngine=OracleTextSearach' to config.cfg and restart content server. Content server doesn't come back up with the following error showing up:

I am Integrating Oracle SES with UCM.Both UCM and Oracle SES are installed on the same machine.
I have installed SESCrawlerExport compoent on UCM and also taken Snapshot of Repository.

Is UCM using port 100 as it's standard port?

When I now try a crawl of UCM, it fails and the log file provides the debugging info listed at the bottom of this message. Error in Jdev with connection to Oracle Content Server

I have installed my Oracle Content server on a remote linux machine and using Apache webserver with it.
I am using Jdev drop 8 build 2d and creating an application trying to connect to the Content server creating a Content repository connection of repository type 'Oracle Content Server' and it tests successfully. I use this connection on my jspx page with Document Library.
The jspx runs properly using the connection .
But after this if I try to work with the connection object ,say use it on anoither page, it shows loading but does nothing further. If I go to the connection properties and test again it fails with message 'Test failed : null' and gives an error message as below while closing the properties window:
