I am using a SAN cert with ADFS service name as Subject alternative name (ADFSService.net) ad the subject name of cert is what will be resolved over the internet (ABC.COM).
I have successfully setup ADFS SQL farm , where as iam getting evet ID 393 when i asetting up ADFS proxy server. it i not accepting the creds of the ineternal ADFS servce service account .
the federation server proxy could not establish a trust with the federation service
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi Zulfiqar,
Please check the time difference between the proxy server and the ADFS server.

  • Compatibility ADFS 2.0 with ADFS 2.1 proxy server

    Hi,
    I'll install an ADFS proxy server to support an internal ADFS (Server 2008 R2) environment.
    Because of the huge differences between ADFS on Server 2008 R2 and 2012 R2, I'll install the proxy server it on a 2012 server (not R2).
    Are there any known things to take in mind when using a config like this?
    My preferred option would be to use 2008 R2 too for proxy, but it's quite EOL.

    I am not 100% sure what you are doing. But let me be extremely explicit: Use a proxy of the same OS and ADFS version as the ADFS server. Make sure they have the same patches etc. Do not mix the versions.
    There are too many subtle differences (if the mix works at all). If you don't want to use 2012R2 then use both ADFS and its proxy on 2012.

  • Server 2012 ADFS and Server 2008 R2 ADFS Proxy compatilibility

    Hi,
    Does anyone know if a 2008 R2 ADFS Proxy will talk to ADFS running on Server 2012?
    TIA.

    I have not found a reference to say if this is supported or not. I know that there is no longer a separate ADFS proxy role in Windows 2012 R2.  The Remote Access feature provides VPN, Direct Access and Web Application Proxy (WAP) functionality.
    So, better to use the new functionality.

  • Having 2 ADFS proxy 2 ADFS server 2 ADC each in seperate cloud service, how do they communicate

    i have 2 ADFS proxy services under one cloud service and one availability group and an endpoint for 443
    the same goes for 2 ADFS servers
    1. as far as i know this configuration is enough for HA and NLB for both services, please confirm and support me with official links
    2. Does Azure services communicate with each other using the public or the private IP? For example ADFS proxy communicate with ADFS services over the cloud service public VIP?
    3. What is the process if ADFS service tries to communicate to one DC on Azure & found it unavailable will it fail over another working DC by default?

  • ADFS Proxy configuration polling interval

    Hi everybody. I was trying to increase the frequency at which the adfs-proxy queries the adfs-server to update its configuration. The powershell command set-WebApplicationProxyConfiguration -ConfigurationChangesPollingIntervalSec is supposed to do that.
    However, no matter the value I configure, it always check every 60 seconds. I am running ADFS 2012 R2 with all the patches, updates...
    Thanks in advance
    // Raúl - I love this game

    Hi Amig@. Yes, of course that you can ask :)  In fact, I want to increase the period. My configuration is not expected to  change very often and my Event Viewer is getting flooded with that events (8 records per server every 60 seconds).
    It's curious that after a fresh installation the polling interval says to be 30 seconds (powershell) but in practice it is 60 seconds. It seems to be hardcoded somewhere
    Thanks for your interest

  • ADFS 3 (Server 2012 R2) and Chrome

    Hello,
    I just recently installed ADFS v3 on a new Server 2012 R2 instance.  I have two ADFS servers in a farm, with 2 ADFS proxy servers, each using Windows Server Network Load Balancer.
    Currently, we are federating to Office 365 and everything seems to be working great for our Internet Explorer users, however people that use Chrome seem to be having multiple issues logging in.  We are seeing the following symptoms with chrome:
    1. Internally, Chrome users are not automatically logged in.  I have tried setting the executing the following command on the ADFS farm, but the issue still persists: Set-ADFSProperties -ExtendedProtectionTokenCheck "None"
    2. Users using chrome cannot sign in at all, both trying through the proxy and the internal ADFS server directly.  When entering mydomain\myusername or
    [email protected], my password, and hit Sign In, the page simply "refreshes" and does nothing.  I don't see any errors or warnings inside of event viewer on both the proxy or internal ADFS
    farm, so not quite sure what is happening.
    I have tried running the Office 365 Single Sign-On Test from
    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ and everything comes back successful, so I think this is a direct issue with ADFS 3 and Chrome.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

    I had the same issue - the only way I found around it was to turn off extended protection in IIS
    To turn Extended Protection off, on the AD FS server, launch IIS Manager, then, on the left side tree view, access Sites -> Default Web Site -> adfs -> lsclick the Authentication
    icon, then right-click Windows Authentication and select …On the Advanced Settings dialog, choose Off for Extended Protection

    This works for ADFS v2.0, but does not work for newer ADFS versions as Microsoft no longer provides the service through IIS.

  • AAD Connect Health and outbound proxy server

    Fired up the Azure AD Connect Health preview on some AD FS 2012 R2 servers today. Installation went fine and the servers show up in the portal, but no data is flowing. Event log shows repeated exceptions trying to connect to:
    https://policykeyservice.dc.ad.msft.net/clientregistrationmanager.svc/AgentUpdateCheck?tenant=<mytenantguidhere>&env=adfs&productname=Microsoft.Identity.Health.Agent¤tversion=1.0.15022.0
    The machines are on private IP addresses but have a proxy server configured (netsh winhttp set proxy). I'm not seeing any requests hit the proxy log, so I'm guessing the initial install used my IE proxy settings, but the service is not using the system proxy
    config as it should.
    Seems like a bug. Am I doing something wrong?
    Cheers.

  • Outlook 2011 Connection Issue with Proxy Server after 10.8 Upgrade

    Hello,
    After upgrading my MBA to 10.8, my MS Outlook (Outlook Mac 2011) mail connection does not work for an exchange based mail account where a VPN/proxy server combination is involved. This was not an issue at all under 10.7. What's interesting is that it's not an issue with MS Outlook 2010 on my Parallels VM either under 10.8. There are no internet connectivity issues, I am able to connect to the internet using Safari and other browsers. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Manish

    I was having a similar problem using Outlook 2011 running under Mountain Lion (10.8.2) on an MacBook Pro. When at work, behind our proxy server, I could not get Outlook to connect to a client's public Exchange server, but this worked fine without changing any settings when I was connected to our DMZ network or at home (no proxy server in these cases). My MacBook was configured to use "Auto Proxy Configuration", and Safari worked fine in all three locations (as did Apple mail)
    Today, the Microsoft Office auto-updater downloaded an update, and since it was installed, the problem has been fixed and I've been able to connect to our client's external Exchange server event when behind our local proxy server (Outlook now reports that the latest installed update is 14.2.5)

  • Calling WS from WebLogic server 8.1 that is behind a Proxy server

    Hi,
    I have a web application deployed on WebLogic server 8.1 sp1. And my server is
    behind a http proxy server. Now one of the components in the application makes
    a web service call to a service located external to the system, and it always
    throws "java.net.UnknownHostException". I have set the Java system properties
    http.proxyHost = my proxy server, http.proxySet = true and http.proxyPort = 80
    and it still does not help.
    If I try to evaluate the web service component as a stand alone client using WebLogic's
    webserviceclient.jar, everything works fine. I can't figure what I have to do
    to get this component working from within the WebLogic server. Can anybody provide
    me with inputs, comments or suggestions.
    Naveen.

    Found solution. Followed Part 2 of the solution as explained in http://support.bea.com/application?namespace=askbea&origin=ask_bea_answer.jsp&event=link.view_answer_page_solution&answerpage=solution&page=wlw/S-19283.htm
    What surprises me is that this solution to a common problem is hidden and hard
    to find. If I am correct, no part of WLS 8.1 documentation suggests this. Rather
    the doc says, set the system properties for the standard JDK 1.4 network properties
    and it should work fine. If it is actually supposed to work like this, is it a
    bug then?

  • Issues With ADF-BC Business Events.

    Hi All,
    I was just trying out how ADF-BC business events works, so tried to create a small application based on scott.EMP table.

    Could you please tell me what I am missing, as I cant find any documentation which says anything about these errors. I tried added 'SOA Runtime' library to both model and UI project but still it did not work out.

    This is the configuration of the global data source I created earlier when BE worked:
    EDNSource
    JNDI Name: jdbc/EDNSource
    URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl
    Driver Class Name: oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource
    user= DEV_SOAINFRA
    EDNDataSource
    JNDI Name: jdbc/EDNDataSource
    URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl
    Driver Class Name: oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource
    user= DEV_SOAINFRA
    So now to test local data sources, I deleted the above to data sources and created the following data source (non-XA) having configuration listed below:
    EDNSource
    JNDI Name: jdbc/EDNSource
    URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl
    Driver Class Name: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver
    user= DEV_SOAINFRA
    This is what happens when I raise the business event with EDNSource data source using non-XA data source with class 'oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver'
    Target URL -- http://127.0.0.1:7101/BusinessEventsApplication-ViewController-context-root/faces/CreateEmployee.jspx
    <JmsBusinessEventBusMessages> <warnUsingOldDatasoureNames> Couldn't find the required datasources, but found them via the old names. Please update your datasource configurations.
    <JmsBusinessEventBusMessages> <warnUsingGlobalDatasourecForLocal> Local Tx Datasource not found, using XA datasource. Please update your configuration.
    Looks like ENDSource is old name of the driver and the new name is EDNDataSource, so created a new data source with name EDNDataSource (after deleting previous data source EDNSource) with the following configuration:
    EDNDataSource
    JNDI Name: jdbc/EDNDataSource
    URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@localhost:1521:orcl
    Driver Class Name: oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver

  • Sun Java System Web Proxy Server (4.0.2) - manage server will not start

    In short here's the scenario and main problem.
    a. Proxy admin server start - no problem
    b. Create a new manage server (no proxying - just testing it) using different port. It just won't start. No logs produced either.
    Here's the server.xml for the new manage server.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

        </CACHE>
        <LOG file="E:/Sun/ProxyServer40/proxy-server3/logs/errors" loglevel="finest"/>
    </SERVER>
    Nothing seems to be wrong with this. The XML format follows the specified DTD.
    Would appreciate any help.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply. Yes. This is really odd.
    Anyway to make the whole story short, i uninstall this proxy server 4.0.2 on this server (say server1) and try to reinstall a new proxy 4.0.13 but having odd problem (i have administration rights)
    Here it goes.
    a. CMD java -version is 1.4.2_XX
    b. Double click the proxy 4.0.13 setup.exe - nothing happen.
    c. CMD setup --javahome c:\jdk1.6_XX - nothing happen
    Here retrying.
    a. Login to server2 and map conection to server1
    b. Double click the proxy 4.0.13 setup.exe on server1 (while on server2) - setup.exe runs. This proves the proxy setup.exe on server1 is good.
    c. Make a copy of proxy 4.0.13 on server2
    d. Login to server1 and map connection to server2
    e. Double click the proxy 4.0.13 setup.exe on server2 (while on server1) - setup.exe did not run.
    Both servers are on the same domain and i'm using same ID to access both servers
    Again, no logs on the windows events (security, application, system)
    This is becoming mind a boggling mystery.
    Any idea what's going on?
    Thanks.

  • Rich-client Java application that is client to WLS6.1 but behind corporate proxy server

    We have a rich-client Java application that is a client to WLS6.1 that can't
    connect to the WLS6.1 server when the client is behind a corporate proxy
    server. What is a remedy for this?
    Thanks,
    Jim Weavere

    Found solution. Followed Part 2 of the solution as explained in http://support.bea.com/application?namespace=askbea&origin=ask_bea_answer.jsp&event=link.view_answer_page_solution&answerpage=solution&page=wlw/S-19283.htm
    What surprises me is that this solution to a common problem is hidden and hard
    to find. If I am correct, no part of WLS 8.1 documentation suggests this. Rather
    the doc says, set the system properties for the standard JDK 1.4 network properties
    and it should work fine. If it is actually supposed to work like this, is it a
    bug then?

    Hi,
    I have a web application deployed on WebLogic server 8.1 sp1. And my
    server is
    behind a http proxy server. Now one of the components in the application
    makes
    a web service call to a service located external to the system, and it
    always
    throws "java.net.UnknownHostException". I have set the Java system properties
    http.proxyHost = my proxy server, http.proxySet = true and http.proxyPort
    = 80
    and it still does not help.
    If I try to evaluate the web service component as a stand alone client
    using WebLogic's
    webserviceclient.jar, everything works fine. I can't figure what I have
    to do
    to get this component working from within the WebLogic server. Can anybody
    provide
    me with inputs, comments or suggestions.
    Naveen.

  • ADFS Proxy

    I have a proxy server in a DMZ i'm unable to connect to a load balanced cluster on the other side using the cluster address. What ports (if any) do I need to open?
    Is there any trouble shooting or diagnostics I need to do?
    I would also appreciate some tips and pointers when rolling out office 365
    Thanks in advance

    The ADFS Proxy really only needs HTTPS (443) open to the ADFS farm. It will also need any dependent ports and protocols available such as DNS, etc. If it is a domain-joined machine then it will need normal AD ports and protocols (DNS, LDAP, Kerberos, etc.)
    Here's a really nice troubleshooting guide for ADFS 2.0:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/adfs2-troubleshooting-guide%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
    One general test I always use for the proxy is this: from the proxy server, navigate to this URL (replace the domain name with the domain of your ADFS service)
    https://adfs.domain.com/adfs/services/trust/mex
    If you get XML data returned then you are generally good to go.

  • ADFS and ADFS proxy on 2012 and secondary on 2008 R2 is that ok

    I want to build my ADFS, ADFS Proxy for hybrid setup with exchange 2010 SP3
    I will have primary ADFS and ADFS proxy on 2012 servers and the secondary will be on 2008 R2
    as per my knowledge this should work but I want to confirm
    forest and domain functional level is 2008
    dcs are 2003 2008 and 2012
    thank you

    Hi,
    you cant mix the ADFS versions. Functional level is okay.
    You can see this also from Microsofts proposed migration strategy creating a new 2012 R2 Server with ADFS http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn486787.aspx#BKMK_b

  • Proxy Server Setting

    Hello folks,
    I have OC4J app on a solaris 10 server that is on a private ip - networking team provided the proxy server and port.
    Where do I put this information?
    I've found one post that says to add to server.xml file
    http://blogs.oracle.com/kamble/entry/proxy_setting_for_application_server
    Any idea?
    Thanks,

    I believe otn.oracle.com is reachable directly within oracle firewall. As a result it should not go through the proxy server. try some other external web site. Otherwise set the noproxy string for the crawler to avoid going through the proxy.
    In any event the crawler should not output Internal error for this operation. Do you have the version information?
    Thanks,
    Steve
