User can not connect to the AdHoc System on UWL
Our Production SAP portal uses LDAP to connect to AD. One of our users is having problems when she tries to get to the Work Overview, it says that the connection to the AdHocSystem failure - Action failed. This is causing her to not be able to create/maintain substitutes in the UWL. Any ideas?
I have connected (temporarily) one of our Sandbox Portals to the Production backend to see if the backend was the problem. The user was created as a UME user, and there was no problems to get to do the Substitutions.
ThanksYeah, that info is useless currently. Sorry about that. The App Store is buggy for lots of people right now, so the only option we really have is to get on the computer then to go to the store online.

Connecting EP7.0 to iSeries backend system using the connector framework
Hello All,
We are trying to setup a backend connection in EP7.0 to an AS/400 Legacy database using the JDBC Connector framework.
We use the driver and url syntax from OSS note 773401 "Configuring Portal JDBC System connection properties"
Driver:
com.sap.portals.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver
URL: jdbc:sap:db2://<server>:<port>;DatabaseName=<database_name>
When performing a connection check using the Support Platform, we can see on the legacy system that the connection is being established but for some reason the Portal doesn't get a confirmation and runs in to an endless loop...
Does anyone have a experience with such a connection?
Can we use the standard db2 driver class as mentioned in note 773401 or do we need to create/deploy our own?
Thanks in advance

Consume WS from Third Party System in a SAP Portal
Hi everybody,
I would like to know if it could be possible to consume a WS from a Third Party System from a SAP Portal page or iView directly.
If not, could anybody propose a solution for that?
I thought about the possibility of creating a WebDynpro Java application which would consume this Web Service.
Thanks a lot.
Kind Regards,
VictoriaHI Victoria,
Create Web Dynpro Java application for consuming u Web services.Create SAP webdynpro iview Template to create your iviews.
Thanks,
Amith. -
We are implementing EP 6.0, currently with SP11. We have developed some iViews, which are using RFC functions to get information from backend system, in this case SRM.
Everything worked fine, till the day weve transported those developments into other systems (production and testing systems). We are getting the following error Access denied (Object: com.sap.portal.system/security/no_safety). This error only comes out if the iView is called from inside another one, if called isolated it works fine.
Does any one have any idea about how to solve this?Hi AA, you can find in the log file in order to identify what is the object that you need to add in the security zone.
You can find information for the security zones on:

How to View Transport Log in DEV SAP Portal System
Hi All,
Kindly help me by giving me the path of where is the Import, Export and Transport Log maintained in SAP Portal.
And is it posible to view the Log of other systems from DEV system? If yes then how.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Disha.Hi,
Please navigate to usr/sap/trans/CMS/log to view logs.
Alternatively in the CMS, you can click on "Go to History" which will display all previous transports. You can see the details from there.

Load approvers, solicitors & workflows to the CUP (SAP GRC AC 5.3)
Hello,
I want to know if there is a way to load the approvers, solicitors & workflows to the CUP (SAP GRC AC 5.3) massively.
Best Regards.
Pablo Mortera. Most of the configuration screens in CUP have an export button and an associated excel/text upload template. Use this template to mass create/update configuration data.

Implications of Reference System in SAP Portal
Hello Friends,
We have a situation where 30 of our existing users have IDs exceeding 12 characters in current non-SAP system. In ECC 6.0, I believe there is a limit of 12 characters for user IDs.
As these users would be using SAP portal as their primary means of interaction with all SAP back-end systems, we are planning to keep their existing user IDs in SAP portal and creating another user ID (<12 chars) in all back-end systems (ECC/BW/CRM). We'd use ECC system as a reference system to map the userIDs.
I've a few questions regarding this approach.
-Is user mapping necessary for all portal users or only these 30 users need to maintain it?
-Is it mandatory for the reference system to be up and running all times? Should the reference system breaks down for some reason, would it hamper connectivity of all mapped users to other systems as well?
Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks,
Vishwas MadhuvarshiHi Vishwas Madhuvarshi,
-Is user mapping necessary for all portal users or only these 30 users need to maintain it?
How are users authenticating against the back-end system?
-Is it mandatory for the reference system to be up and running all times? Should the reference system breaks down for some reason, would it hamper connectivity of all mapped users to other systems as well?
If the referenced system is down it will only be an issue when the user goes to an area where the back-end system presents content or data. Pure portal areas will not be impacted.
Best regards,
Duncan
