ADI Journal Upload

A quick question regarding the network connectivity requirement of ADI. We are using a WAN connectivity to connect all Oracle Financial server remotely. What is the network latency requirement to have the ADI service to run with an acceptable performance.
We have some colleague that have LAN access to the server and login to the ADI requires ~1 mins. For those remote site, user usually take 6 mins to login to ADI, so if anyone can tell me what is the network latency requirement of the ADI application, it will be highly appreciated.

100 MS latency will be ideal. The more the latency slower will be ADI performance. I hope you are using ADI client Server version. If your users are not power users, you should try WEB ADI.

Problem Description
ADI에서 Journal Import를 시도할때, Account segment value값에"0"를 자리수만큼 채워서 upload를 시도하는 경우가 있다.
예를들어, segment value가 300 인데, ADI에서 Journal Import시
0300 으로 바뀌는 경우이다.
이 경우, Segment Value중에 0300이라는 값이 없기 때문에, upload시
에러가 발생한다.
재현방법 :
Responsibility = General Ledger Super User
ADI path = Click on the Ledger Book from the ADI toolbar/Enter Journals
1. Log on to ADI as the General Ledger Super User.
2. Proceed to the Create Journal Worksheet form using the above navigation.
3. Choose the appropriate journal type and click on the green check mark to
continue. This will load Excel and the appropriate journal template.
4. Enter your Journal information in the header and body. Place the value of
the segments that you would like in the segment value portion of the journal.
5. Once the journal is completed, click on the Ledger Book from the ADI toolbar
and select the green arrow to upload the journal.
6. Once the journal upload is complete, you notice that the values that were
uploaded for a certain segment have a zero added to them.
Solution Description
"0"가 자릿수만큼 채워지는 것을 막기위해, ADI setup중 "Zero Pad" 기능을 uncheck한다.

4. Save your changes and repeat the journal import process for this journal.
Explanation
"Zero Pad"기능은 check되었을때, 해당 Segment의 Maximun Size만큼 "0"으로 채워준다.
이 기능을 uncheck하면, "0"의 추가확장 없이 입력된 그대로를 사용하게 된다.

Oracle 11i - ADI journal upload : Program was terminated by signal 11

Hi,
A user was trying to upload journals using ADI. The concurrent program failed and the log has this string :

Any help to resolve the issue is appreciated.

ADI Journal Template Upload Error

I setup an ADI Journal Template and copied it to a shared folder. When another user opens the template it comes up with a signon request, even though ADI is already up and running:
You have not signed on to the required Applications Database.
It's almost as if another user cannot access a Template that was not created on their PC. For now, users are cutting and pasting the data into their own templates. Is there a workaround for this problem? Is it a responsibility issue?

ADI stores the name of the database you signed on to when creating the Journal Template. Have the second user create or modify their database name to the same as yours and you will find that they can use the template.

ADI Journal - Journal Date

All,
Client is using ADI to upload Journals into Oracle General Ledger. We have to restrict backdated entries. Is there a way to default Journal date to the system date and removing the access to this field to the user.
If it is not possible in ADI, is there a workaround in GL.

Customize the WEB ADI Journal Import layout

Hi ,
I would like to know from gurus , on how to customize the WEB ADI Journal Import Template, as per the client's requirements.
I would like to add a custom validation for a line level reference column (Referenc6 of GL JE Lines) and also for the Accounting Date column in the Template's Header field.
Kindly suggest me which package / setup needs to be looked at so that I can include the validations. I could see lots of BNE stuff ..not sure where to go for.
We are on 11.5.10 Oracle Applications version on 10g Database and trying to create the layout with the responsibility 'DESKTOP INTEGRATION'.
Oracle Web ADI 11i 8.4.1.34.
Please help me on this..

Thanks for your reply, it was while trying to "edit" the page containing the shockwave file however it’s a bit of a strange one, as When I reposted this post , I had been experiencing the problem for about a week. I then went on leave for a week and when I returned it started working again???. I queried with my IT department if anything had changed or been updated but they could not think of anything.
So for now it's working, but if you have any thoughts on what may of happened I would appreciate any suggestions?

Web ADI Journal Layout

Could someone please advise if it is possible to change the Web ADI Journal layout to a Cross Tab format (i.e. Accounts down the page and Periods across the top of the page)
Example

I can only see where it can be added as a Header or Line Item.

difficult question... update or not update...
I guess you are in a test environment, so I would update the table, and test thoughtfully.
what was the application id in the source environment? if it changed, then you should check with who performed the upgrade.
if instead the integrator application id changed, then you might ask a patch from oracle.
Least but not last, if your manager is in a hurry and s he is against direct update on the table, go front end and recreate it - it takes 10 minutes. however this introduces another step and dependencies in the system upgrade process, and you might want to have as few as possible steps in it.

Journal Upload to iCloud doesn't work

Hi! I want to Share a Journal from iPhoto to iCloud, so that I can Share a link to Others. But some how, during the Upload to iCloud the uploadbar Stops at One Point and the Loading Wheel keeps Spinning forever. I have some Files in iCloud, but the link in Safari doesn't Show the photos. Also the File size in iCloud Sems to small. It's like ist Beginns to Upload and then Stops at some Point. I have an iPad Mini and the beweist iOS Update. I trief many Suggestionen in the Internet but nothing wirkend. Can someone give me a hint?

There are two reasons that I can think of:
You may have exceeded an upload limit, see iCloud: Photo Stream limits; in that case you will just have to wait a bit, before you can start uploading again.
Or one of the photos in your journal is corrupted and cannot be uploaded. Then you will have to find the item that is causing the problem - try to create a small test journal with different photos and try to publish that. Can you publish journals at all, or does only your particular journal not work?
To check for bad pictures or the layout of your Journal you miht try to share the journal to iTunes instead, if you have a mac:

I've been uploading the journals for over a year with no problems but recently it needs me to put a ' before anything in the account code section or it wont upload !
Anyone know why it's doing this ?

It might be a bit late,
But It's probably the formating of the Excel Template when it uploads to the system.
Before you start completing the template take off the protection and try that if that fails, try take off the protection and format the account column to text before you start.

Mass Journal Upload - Calculate Tax Authomatically

Dear SAPers
We have a requirement to develop a programme to mass upload a journal entry from a spreadsheet. The entry requires VAT postings and therefore the Calculate Tax Authomatically field needs to be selected. Our programmer is finding it difficult to identify the BAPI to be used or the field to select.
Can you help me please. The journal is Dr Expense Accounts with VAT and Cr a Control Account.

Ususally there are 2 BAPI that are used for Accounting document posting :
1. BAPI_ACC_GL_POSTING_POST.
2. BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST.
In which in input you wont be able to get the calculate tax automatically tick .
Kindly check the programme RFBIBL00 if that can be of use to you , else you will have to Go for a BDC of FB01 .

Spreadsheet journal upload

In case of Peoplesoft 9 version the upload through spreadsheet journal does not extract the data in case the journal id is other than NEXT journal id
IS there any specific configuration or any change to be made

ADI Asset Upload

Hi
We have around 50000 assets belong to a telecom company and it has to load into 11.5.10.2 version and the there are multiple categories and the life of asset ranges from 1-30 years .
Is ADI is a better option to load or is there any other option should we look for ?
If ADI ,then how can we load so many assets at a time .What planning is required to load the assets in the shortest possible time ?

For about 17500 assets using ADI we have these stats in 11.5.9. These stats are after several rounds of testing making sure that all validations are successful. When using ADI to load into mass additions, bulk of the time goes into validations to make sure there is no conflict.
Loading From ADI to mass additions :3 hrs
Running Mass Addtions : 2 hrs
Depreciation : 3 hrs
We have 6 different books.
In your testing phase it may take more time.
Alternatively you can load into fa_mass_additions. This will take less time but may have to troubleshoot more as you may find issues during post.

My customer has an issue, and error message as below:

Idle for how long? Is the issue with all sessions?

Does customer still need to apply patch '9940148' based on action plan ofIf the issue not with Web ADI, then ignore this patch. However, if you use Web ADI you could query AD_BUGS table and verify if you have the patch applied.

Create a specific request to upload all the journaux from the ADI file

Hello everyone,
I'd like to create a specific request which runs in the Oracle GL par exemple, and it can import all the journaux from the ADI file.
the objectif is to impot all the jouraux in the ADI file by a simple clic, because I have a lot sheets to imprt in the ADI file.

Upload Procedure
To upload journal entries from a journal worksheet to the interface table:
1. While viewing your journal worksheet, from the ADI toolbar, choose Ledger >
Upload to Interface. The Upload Journals to Interface window opens.
2. Select or enter upload options as appropriate.
Table 3–4 discusses the various
upload options for importing journal data.
Start Journal Import (check box)
If selected, starts the journal import process automatically after the upload completes.
If you choose to start the journal import process automatically after the upload completes, the system will do the following:
Submits your journal import request
Submits a watch request to monitor your journal import request
Displays errors in the upload to the interface table and the journal import request ID.
Displays a message indicating that a watch request has been submitted for the Journal Import Request ID.
I'm not using ADI anymore, but WEB ADI, and i don't think you can schedule de journal upload/import.
