ADI SoundMAX Audio driver latest update

Hi Everybody:
TVSU shows this ADI SoundMAX Audio driver (version 5.10.01.6380-0005 released 2009/02/18) as the latest for my system. Actual version installed is 5.10.01.6380-0002 which I downloaded from the matrix in April when TVSU still wasn't available.
As I use to check on any additional info before confirming TVSU to install it, I found the following "Note" under "Additional information>Systems supported" (Please note that this "Note" is not contained in the readme file):
"On Windows XP (version before SP3) and early version of 2003, you need to install a QFE to allow a HD Audio driver installation. This QFE is made available by Microsoft and it is required to update the Operating System components before installing the audio driver. The QFE contains the required files and readme files which outline procedure. This QFE and files are distributed by Microsoft only, please contact them directly if you need to get them."
Questions:
1) As I have SP3 installed, I don't need it?
2) This implies that SP3 contains the QFE?
3) If so, why didn't need it before SP3 if SoundMAX has been always present? i.e. came preinstalled on the system.
4) What's this QFE anyway? and if anybody can show me a Microsoft link to it, because my searching didn't.
Regret my ignorance, but...anybody?
Thanks in advance and Regards,
RickCP.

Hi,
I wanted to confirm, that this issue occurs also to me, and started happening recently. Also the driver sometimes does not start when simply booting clean (not returning from StandBy). I'm not sure,  but I think this started happening after some driver update (I do upgrade my drivers when lenovo updates them hoping they'll fix some of the annoying glitches, but this is what I usually get...).
My machine is: lenovo t61 7664-19G
And I also have: windows XP
If someone more tech-able would like to investigate this, I would be happy to supply all the details.

  • Unable to start the Dolby audio driver after updating windows 10

I am using a Lenovo Laptop G510 that came with Windows 8 preinstalled. Yesterday I updated it to Windows 10 and after that whenever I boot my pc to desktop I get an error message saying that "Unable to start the Dolby audio driver". I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audio driver from my computer but still the error comes up. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?  Thanks

    hi Abrahamjoy,
    Can you try these steps:
    1. Follow this guide on how to disable automatic driver installation.
    2. Press the Windows key‌ +X and choose Device Manager. On the Device Manager, navigate to
     -  Sound, video and game controllers > right click on  Conexant SmartAudio or IDT High Definition Audio >  choose uninstall > and ensure the delete the driver software for this device is checked.
    3. Press the Windows key‌ +X and choose Programs and Features. On the list of apps, uninstall anything that relates to the Conexant/IDT & Dolby then reboot.
    4. After the reboot, download and install the driver below (this should install the audio & dolby components)
     - Audio Driver (Conexant) for Windows 10 (64-bit) - Lenovo G410, G510
When finished, you the audio & dolby settings should now work and the errors should not pop-up anymore.

  • SoundMax Digital Driver not digitally signed and not passed logo testing

    Hi HP Community,
My sound is going in and out (skipping). The speakers are not blown out.
I have  tried in this order
uninstalling Soundmax and restarting the computer
    updating driver through control panel>system>driver
using hp.com software/driver page and installed ADI 1981B Audio driver (sp34210.exe version 5.12.1.5410 C) an error message reads, "SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Window XP" I selected continue anyway.
used Driver Recovery DVD and an error message reads, "SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Window XP" I selected continue anyway.
Through all this I noticed that it is not digitally signed
The sound still sounds bad. Is it even the driver?
What is going on and suggestions?
    OS: Window XP 32 bit
    HP Pavillion dv4155cl
    Thanks

Just to establish a good base line I am going to have you uninstall and reinstall the printer from our website rather than the CD-ROM that came with the machine.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it. Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.
Then follow this link to download the full feature software and drivers for the printer:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5061073&
Install that using the USB >> Wireless setup wizard and establish a static IP (video below on that) :

  • Problem in audio driver and unable to install rescue and recovery ver 4.3 -

    Dear community collegues,
I have installed original windows7 home premium in my lenovo N100 series 0768-54A model y'day. Though every thing went well, the AC97 audio driver could not be installed. Can any one provide me a solution to make the audio working in Windows7 Home Premium.
Similarly after new installation, I could not install rescue and recovery version 4.3 (windows7 compatible) in to the system, every attempt failed. Could any one provide a solution.
    thanking You.

I am not sure which audio chipset your N100 has, so
    Try this for sound:
    Go to THIS web page.
Download Soundmax audio driver for Vista.
Extract the files by double clicking, and note where they
    are being extracted to.
Uninstall any sound driver you have installed, reboot.
If windows says New Hardware Found, click cancel.
Go to folder where downloaded drivers were extracted,
    and run Setup.
If Soudmax drivers do not work, uninstall and repeat
    with the Realtek audio drivers.
I do not think Rescue/Recovery will work except for
    the originally installed OS.

  • Latest SoundMax HD Audio Driver is Very Static

I had a botched install of Windows and redid everything with all the latest drivers from the website.  However, the newest audio driver has a very pop or crackle that occurs when playing music from any program or source including youtube, audacity, winamp, media player (both audio files and video files).  Is there any way to correct this?  I've had a lot of trouble with the audio driver specifically for a very long time and was hoping to get some guidance on this before I attempt to uninstall and switch back to the original audio driver.  And just to add, this problem seems to happen only when docked to my advanced mini dock.  When I use the built in speakers or headset, there's no static.... so I'm not quite sure what is going on here...

  • HP Elitebook 8560p driver update error: IDT High Definition (HD) Audio Driver

    Hi there,
    Hoping someone can help..
So I tried updating/installing the latest IDT Audio driver for my Elitebook 8560p, but get this error each time:
I'm pretty sure this is because I stupidly uninstalled IDT soon after getting the laptop.. I did this because I use a seperate audio interface for recording music and didn't want any conflicts. I didn't realize uninstalling this would disable the internal audio entirely (and irreversibly it seems)! My audio still works when I connect my external audio interface, but this is quite annoying as I have to bring the interface with me everywhere, like I can't just watch a Youtube video and listen through internal speaker OR headphone output..I have to hook it up to my interface each time..urgh. My own fault I know, but I would have thought this driver installation package would work and put it back on my system..
FYI, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit.
I remember reading a thread about this eact same problem ages ago, someone had done the same thing and was having the same problem re-enabling//re-installing it. I think he managed to find a fix that worked for him that involved removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds, or something along those lines.. I remember trying that method by copying his instructions step-by-step, but it didn't work for me
Anyone else, or any HP tech support know any kind of fix for this? Fingers crosed.
Many thanks for any help or advice in advance!
    Lauren

  • Probook 4710s & ADI Soundmax driver Windows 7 64bit

I recently installed a new hard drive into my HP Probook 4710s and installed a new version of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
I am unable to install the audio driver.  I have downloaded the ADI SoundMax AD1984A audio driver for Microsoft Windows 7 sp45115.exe.
However, it will not install.  The error message I get is "the audio driver does not support your computer hardware"
In Device Manager, the driver is Microsoft High Definition Audio Driver v. 6.1.7600.16385
Under Control Panel - Sound the Playback device is Digital Audio HDMI, High Definition Audio Device, Not plugged in.  I am unable to click on configure or set as default
When i place the mouse over the sound icon lower left it says no speakers or headphones are plugged in.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Sorry that didn't work.
I have the HP Eltebook 6930p with the same audio chip.
You will see it listed as one of the notebooks supported by the same audio driver.
I have some questions for you to see if we can get the sound working.
    1. When you first installed windows 7 without adding any drivers, did you have audio?
I did when I installed W7. That was the version without SP1. So, I would be somewhat surprised that since your notebook uses the same audio chip as mine, that W7 installed without the audio working.
    2. Whether or not you had audio after installing W7, did you install the following drivers in the generally recommended order of installation, and reboot after each individual install of the following drivers?
    That order being:
First,      --  Intel Chipset Installation Utility
    Second, --  Graphics
    Third,     --  Audio
If you answered no to this question, that could be the cause of the issue.
My recommendation in that case, would be to reinstall W7 and try again using the above approach.

  • Acer Aspire V5-531 Dolby Advanced Audio driver issues after updating to Windows 10

After upgrading to Windows 10 I was getting an error on loading Windows media player which indicated that: The current Dolby audio driver version is 7.2.8000.17 and the softwareapplication expects driver version 7.2.7000.7. Please install a valid driver and application combination  Although Windows 10 has probably updated your driver to the latest version of the driver (you can check this in device manager for yourself) but the Dolby Advanced Audio V2 application which was supplied by Acer (not Dolby) has not been updated to the corresponding latest version. So, you need an updated version of Dolby Advanced Audio V2 (Version 7.2.8000.17) Acer have not published an updated version. Looked all over the site coudn't find it.  My solution was to remove the error was to uninstall the Acer version and replace with the correct version downloaded from the Lenovo site below. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028945  I'd wanted to make sure it was the same software, so I tried without uninstalling first and it refused as a version was already installed. So that was reassuring. Thanks for the archived post below pointing me to the softwre on the Lenoveo site at the Lenovo site. I'd looked all over the Acer site for it. http://community.acer.com/t5/2013-Archives/how-i-solved-the-dolby-realtek-audio-problem/td-p/103157  There are warnings on the page above not to use the Lenovo version of the software because of 'tuning', but my audio sounds just as good as before and the error is now gone. Without it the Dolby would have been uninstalled so it seemed a reasonable punt to me. Disappointed in Acer, will buy a Lenovo next time...

Hi, The only driver that ever worked properly with Dolby was the driver for The V5-552G on windows 8 (not 8.1) This will work on your computer even if different model... the new driver on the Acer site for winodws 10 has not work either. So the one I´m using is: Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6878_W8x64_A To Download the Driver and Software needed Go to: http://www.acer.co.in/ac/en/IN/content/drivers and Go: Ultra-Thin / Aspire / V5-552G To get dolby to work: 1. Uninstall the current driver, and any software related to it (the dolby software) 2. restart 3. Install the driver for windows 8 (in my case it never installs dolby automatically, I´ll explain how to do it manually below) 4. Restart twice (yes, I always had to restart twice after the install otherwise manually installing dolby would not work and I got an error when trying to run the install) 5. In the driver folders you downloaded and unzipped go to the folder "PCEE4" and run "DolbyAdvancedAudio.msi" 6.If you dont get the "Install PCEE" error, restart and you should be able to enjoy dolby (when its not acting up). If you get the error then you may have not followed the instructions properly. Go back to step 1 Good luck

  • IDT High Definition (HD) Audio Driver problem after windows 8.1 update 1.

Hello. I have HP Probook 4730s. After I installed Windows 8.1 update 1 the sound driver stopped working properly. When I want to play some music, video or even system sounds, sound appears after 1-2 minutes. At that time HDD usage is 100% cause of windows audio device graph isolation. I’ve installed that IDT High Definition (HD) Audio Driver from HP’s driver support site, but that’s not working. As I see in device manager driver’s release date is 24.10.2012. I think, it’s too old for Windows 8.1. Can you help me? Is there any other newer version of that sound driver? Also I’m sending two pictures where are HDD usage and driver release date.

When are we to expect some updates in the drivers for G510, specifically for both graphics (Intel and AMD)
Also I am using G510S's Lenovo Power Management for Windows 8.1(running with no issues) as Windows 8 version was not compatible and there is no Win8.1 version.
And there is an update available for Conexant Audio in windows update and after the update when ever I play music, a few seconds in the Audio Device stops(a red cross on volume icon) and then troubleshooter automatically runs and fixes the audio device and audio comes back.
Also I would like to request that you bring back Dobly Advanced Audio v2 that was available with WINDOWS 8 version of the driver. It was just much more convienient and I liked its graphics equilizer much better.
