Adjust 7600 Go video memory at A100-912 using windows vista

Hello!I have an A100-912 which has an 7600 Go with 256Mb video memory. As you can see here http://imageshack.gr/viewer.php?file=n1tjn1zgmhdmq4umfym4.jpg it uses 495MB(the words are in greek) from my system memory! Can i disable this option so my 7600 use only it's own 256MB Ram??I haven't find any option in BIOS
thnx!

Hi dolmas
As far as I know this graphic card is not shared memory card and do not need RAM for better performance. Just some notebooks with shared memory graphic cards have this option but not your A100 with NVIDIA graphic card.

  • Playing video in iTunes on laptop running Windows Vista

I recently changed my computer. I now have an HP Pavilion running windows Vista (use to have XP). I have a video iPod -30GB. I downloaded iTunes onto the new equipment without incident, but that is the last thing that went smoothly.
I can no longer watch TV shows or movies from iTunes. The video plays like a slide show of stills (the audio is real-time however). Eventually I will get an error message from Windows and it closes the application.
I am also having issues with syncing my iPod and computer. I get a message requiring me to delete all of the content of the iPod and replace it with the contents of iTunes.I haven't done this -no trust and no backup
This message is from iTunes. I suspect it is a security feature to prevent downloading to more than one iPod, as iTunes doesn't seem to 'know' my iPod anymore. Syncing has also caused iTunes to close and my computer to reboot. Has anyone else had these problems?
Any suggestions ... short of throwing the Windows computer out of a window?

  • Videos won't play properly with Windows Vista

    Hi there,
I recently installed iTunes on my new computer, which is running Windows Vista Home Premium. After transferring my library over I tried to play a video to test it out, but found that the videos were all extremely choppy. I installed new video drivers for my video card (Nvidia 8800 GT), made sure I had the latest version of iTunes (7.2.0.35) and went through most of the steps in this troubleshooting article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305392
I didn't perform the last two steps (Modify your System Drive Configuration and Disable Readyboost) because I didn't see "the IDE bus that contains your hard drive" and am not using a flash-based drive.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

  • How can I move an existing iTunes library from a Dell PC (which uses Windows Vista) to a MacBook Pro?  I have tried to copy the library from the PC onto a memory stick but cannot move from the stick onto the MacBook Pro.

I have tried to copy my iTunes library from my old (2008) Dell PC to a 32 GB memory stick and then copy it from the stick to the iTunes library in the new MacBook Pro which I purchased recently from a reputable dealer which resells refurbished Macs, (lease returns, etc).  The dealer was Computer Trends store in Saskatoon.  They told me how to move my existing iTunes libary from the PC to the Mac but I cannot seem to achieve that objective.  The Mac does not seem to recognize the memory stick.  I thought the Mac would recognize that the memory stick held iTunes files and would then transfer them without prompting to its own iTunes libary.  It did not do so.  I have therefore tried to find the command sequence within iTunes (on the Mac) for moving the material from the memory stick to the iTunes library.  Cannot find those commands.  Does anybody know where to find such commands.  I have to say, I am really disappointed that such a simple function would prove to be beyond my capabilities.  I thought the Mac was supposed to be easier than a PC.  !!!  Oh well, I am hoping this forum will help !!!

iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you use iTunes default preferences settings:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
So, you can see your whole iTunes folder on the memory stick after copying from the PC?

  • LV memory leak - How to use windows API SetProcessWorkingSetSize (from Kernel32.dll)

    Hi fellow LV'ers
Okay - this is a bit tricky, but i'll try and explain the problem, then ask for the solution, because it may be that someone knows a better way to deal with this.. might get a bit long, sorry - if a solution comes up this will enable all of us to make more memory efficient LV code so please read on..
    Here is the deal:
When building even a very simple LV executable, looking at the windows task manager will yield a rather large amount of memory allocated for such a small program - and the only way to free this up is by physically clicking the windows minimize button, then suddenly the amount drops to only a few MB and upon maximizing the window again the memory consumption will increase somewhat again, but for a simple VI build to an exe this move may change the consumption from +70MB to less than 15 MB.. This is irregardless of the code you put in the VI, so no coding example in this post as it is how LV works - you can even test it with the development environment - look at the task mgr and check LabVIEW's memory consumption, minimze ALL open NI windows incl project explorer etc, and you will see a significant decrease in memory usage even after maximizing again.. This has annoyed me since day one, but since RAM is a near zero cost these days it is not something I stay awake at night to think about.. However - I have moved into the "publish to web" tools now, wanting to do a remote monitoring part for my application for my customers to experience increased usability from the software i sell them..
All is well, publishing is really easy (i use the monitor function, NOT the embeded, as customers need not have Labview RunTimeEngine installed, because they might look at it from a non RTE supported platform such as a mobilephone web browser)
Everything is working fine also for the build application. However - I have noticed that once users start to remote monitor the running application - memory consumption of the running LV application starts to increase - and it keeps doing so - to such an extend that you can drain the computer complete and run off the cliff with a windows error... This is off course not very productive for me, being specialized in measurement applications that usually runs for a long period of time - I initially thought that I had done some poor programming in the VI used to display on the webpage - but it turns out that I can reproduce this behaviour with a simple boolean on an empty front panel..
NI support has been informed, and they admit there is a problem, but so far solutions from them has been a bit too exotic for my taste, and thus I'm seeking the help of fellow LV programmers...
You see - The method to solve the increasing memory consumption, is the exact same as mentioned above..minimize the application running with the "minimize" button and all memory will be freed, as soon as you maximize the application and users are viewing it remotely, the memory usage raises again, and history repeats... As previously mentioned, minimizing the window via normal LV calls to property nodes does not yield the same result, nor does a request deallocation of a VI(When you profile a project, there are no VI's increasing in memory, it is the LV process it self doing it)
After many many hours googling I stumbled upon this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=293215
I believe trimming the process with SetProcessWorkingSetSize would solve this problem, and now I would really like to be able to do this in my program, so that users are not forced to minimize the program every X hour depending on their system size...
However - I have absolutely NO experience in calling windows API from LV, i need someone with that knowledge to provide an example of how to call this.. I've looked at examples on how to do calls to windows API - there is an example in this forum with some llb's in it, and I have gained a fair understanding of how parameters are passed between the calls, but none of those include the "hProcess" handle that is apparently needed for this specific winAPI call to work - Anyone in this forum with the knowledge on how to obtain this handle from a VI, if at all possible, and could provide an example VI for me to use - or even better , someone with the knowledge of how to do this within LV it self??
    Your help is much appreciated
    Best Regards
    Jacob
    LV8.6.1 patch something
    Win XP
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Enrico
Finally I can give something to the community that has given me so much  :-)
The "official" statement is that "yes we know it is a problem".. Not sure what that will do to the future..
I have the problem on 8.6.1 as well  - and in fact it is a general LV problem, that I first time reported to NI with LV8.2 as I was pissed by the fact that even the smallest exe file would consume + 50MB of memory until you manually minimized the window. Well - thanks to the feedback from Cosmin I seem to have solved the problem.
I most warn that having started to "empty process" once in a while has led to occasional program crashes in the lethal "app.exe performed an illegal action and is closed" windows dialog - however what I did was to move the webserver to a seperate exe file and then communicate the data that I want to use via datasocket in a cluster.. It works like a charm and I simply stall the single thread that the webserver is running when ever the empty process is called and I have not seen a crash since then.. (the initial implementation was done in the main app with 4 parallel loops running, and I guess that was a disaster waiting to happen)
Either way - what I have done is made a VI that at a user defined interval calls the empty process, simply by getting the .exe name from the task manager of the calling program - it is simple and very effective. I call it every 5 minutes - needless to say that flushing too often will most likely kill performance of the system. I have not noticed problems with VM - are you sure you are not storing large arrays or moving around copies of data not used frequently?
For future reference to this forum, it is attached here including the .dll required to call - it is a LV8.6.1 file as I have not had the time to yet again test every single function of my program for new problems that could occur with upgrading to LV2009
I hope this solves your problem..
    best regards
    Jacob

  • Quicktime 7.5 - Black Video and no Audio - Using Windows Vista

    Hello,
I tried asking this, but I don't think I was clear enough.
Current Computer - Dell Inspiron, Quad Core, 4gig Ram, < 1yr old.
    Running OS - Vista Home
Up until recently Quicktime worked fine, then all of the sudden the video is gone.
The audio is still there however.
What I have done to try to resolve -
    1) Reviewed previous topics and tried the following -
    a) update Preferences to Safe Mode (That made a white stripe in the black screen)
    b) Update preferences to remove Direct 3D video acceleration, nothing changed
    2) Reinstall Quicktime 7.5 - No change, still shows BLACK video and will play audio
    3) Reinstall Itunes with Quicktime - No change still shows BLACK video and will play audio
Thank you for any help you can provide!

I have found a temporary workaround for this. I can open the indeo 5.1 formatted avi's in another program (either fade to black or virtualdub) and change/convert to another indeo codec called IYUV (as opposed to IV50) and while it renders a much larger avi file, those DO open in Quicktime, and when I export to convert this larger avi into a MOV file, it is about the same file size in the end product as the ones I render from the same 5.1 avi on the other computer. Knowing I can do this as needed saves me having to re-render all 400 or so of my avi's to another codec or lose them.
I STILL think there is a fix out there that is related to somehow telling the registry to recognize the ir50_32.qtx codec the same as I finally did to get Windows MP to play these files, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet.
Progress is supposed to make these files SMALLER with BETTER quality, but all I see so far with these "new improved" codecs is bigger files and no better (or even worse) image/sound quality. I'll change to more "modern" codecs when they show me one that is an actual improvement over the old one based on this criteria. And AVI remains the ONLY file format that can be extensively modified and edited artistically (zoom, crop, add watermarks and color filters and special effects). Apple is shooting themselves in the foot if they make us unable to open our AVIs in the pro version so we can continue to use QT Players on our web pages. I LIKE the mov finished product for both file size and quality, and I am happy to drive new customers to them as long as they let me convert my files in QT Pro. When I can't any longer, I'll convert every single website on all my websites player to Flash.

  • Time Capsule Video Stuttering in OSX and not Windows Vista/7

    Hi,
I have a MacBook 1.6 GHz D-core. I store all my video content on my Time Capsule, 500GB. Whenever I try to stream a video over the network, via TC, it stutters. Whether that be SD or HD content.
When I try to stream the same content on Vista or Windows 7 I have zero problems.
The suttering happends about every 15 seconds and seems like it skips a frame or two. The audio cuts out as well but it's less than a second long and the video goes back to normal. It wouldn't be a big issue however it happends about 3-4 times a minute and I find it annoying.
I'm not sure why I have no issues on Vista/7 but have problems with OSX. Any advice?

The answer is no, not available. If you wish more, you can upgrade video card using the PCI Express x16 slot . Your machine has 300W PSU, you need to buy a card which can run with 300W PSU otherwise you need a new PSU.
